Spring-Green Lawn Care

I would HIGhLY recommend Spring Green Lawn Service as I have used them several years. They are very professional, trustworthy, and provides excellent work. They hire top-notch technicians. I have truly noticed a big difference (for the good) with my lawn since using Spring Green Service! -from an extremely satisfied customer (not related) -CFW. -Bourbonnsis, IL

I have been a customer of Spring Green for over 15 years. They have done an ok job but nothing out of the ordinary. In the last few years, the service has gotten worse. They never adequately cover the area they are treating. This results in me having to spray weeds myself. If I am going to have to spray after they do, what am I paying them for? This year on April 4th they treated my lawn. Yesterday, April 26 I noticed an abundance of weeds starting to appear. I called them and the person who took my call was outright condescending, in fact, borderline rude. In no information I have ever received from this company, in the over 15 years I have dealt with them, have I been informed that you only have 10 to at most 14 days after treatment to let them know of an issue you may have. In fact, their information states that the application may take up to 14 days to fully work. The person I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with continued to stress that point. Then stated that they are really only responsible for the weeds on the lawn the day they put the treatment down. What nonsense. You are being paid to do weed prevention. It was obvious that they are unwilling to stand behind their guarantee of complete customer satisfaction, as clearly stated in the literature as well as the web site. If the policy is to contact Spring Green no later the 14 days after application I have never seen it. If that is the policy I would like to have it in writing for my files. I was told that they will come back out to correct this problem. We'll see as i truly would like to continue to do business with them.

This company is a joke. The cost was not explained correctly. My understanding is that the price I was quoted was for the quarter and only to find out that it was monthly. I will admit that I don't pay attention to my credit card statements as much as I should. When I received a charge, I called to cancel and reel that I should have been reimbursed. But then I received a call that they were going to service my home I told them I had canceled, and after the back and forth from them telling me I didn't for almost 15 minutes, they found the cancellation in the notes. They tell me that I should not cancel and have my house serviced the next day since I already paid for it. I say, if I paid for it then you should service my home even if I cancel it. Nope, it doesn't work like that. Such BS. Then in the conversation, I find out that they only have treated the interior of my home on their first visit and not since even though I gave them the garage code to get in. Again, back and forth with the notes. How did they get in the first time if you didn't have the garage code? Such BS. So dissatisfied. They hadn't spayed the inside of the house and now I have moths. I feel like I was being handled. They didn't refund my money when I did cancel. They told me that I didn't cancel when I did. And even though I have paid through the end of the month, they did treat wouldn't treat my house when it was scheduled for. Say away!!

After a couple of treatments yard looks very nice

It was mediocre. They came in the rain for the fertilizing. I prefer they do not come when we are expecting heavy rain. I would say the consistency, they have the same person come out so we could build a better report with that 16 -18 year old kid.

I felt they could've aerated a little more. They went very quickly and missed a lot of areas. We have had them for fertilizing. They fertilize when it's going to be a downpour of rain. It's like, "Oh, come on, that's washing right off!" Maybe if you're putting pellets down, I don't care, but if you are spraying it with the liquid, that's going to wash right off. If you know it's going to rain, don't treat my yard. There are young kids that do the service. Some of them are very professional. Some of them are so-so. You don't always have the same person doing the yard. It changes from time to time. You could build the relationship with the person doing your yard. That would be amazing. We still had some weeds. We have had better service with other companies in the past. One little weed I can handle. There was way more than one. They just show up. No rhyme or reason. They just put a flag in your yard. There is no punctuality when you don't know when they're coming. I told my husband, call them and tell them don't show up again until we agree on a price. We have 3 neighbors. They do all 3 at the same time. They tend to give us a better price to do them all at the same time.

They killed my grass. My lawn developed a large area of dead grass, even though i watered pretty regularly. My grass started growing mushrooms after just 1 treatment of their fertilizer. When calling them to let them know how disappointed I was about the fertilizer service, the person on the phone didn't offer apologies or any other sympathy. I will not waste money with a company that can't even get their customer service right!

This company is awful. They are unresponsive and do a terrible job. They have probably applied 5 or 6 applications so far, and I have more weeds and broad leaf grass now than I ever have had. I have called probably 3 or 4 times asking for re-servicing and not once have they come out. But they have no problem calling me trying to add additional services. I am not even sure they are applying any sort of weed killer. There is no browning or wilting. My grass even looks worse. I am guessing they are using some cheap chemical to fertilize. I will definitely be canceling my services with them. I wouldn't suggest them to anyone.

Spring Green has done nothing to rectify my lawn problems. They came out once after my complaint and told me that they cannot fix the problems as they do not use the type of chemicals that take care of my lawn problems. On the last call, I told them that I was discontinuing my service because of the problems. They did not offer to review my complaint but merely stated: "I will note that on your account".

While the actual service was great and our lawn never looked better, Spring Green rolls over any services you have from year to year. We originally signed up just for the fert and weed prevention but at one point needed grub control. The next year they did the grub control again when it wasn't need. The same then happen with aeration, which I had just had done by another company. So 2 services were performed that I didnt need. I was told a letter was sent in early January about what services we will have this year and I disregarded it because the title of the letter was a promo for paying for your yearly service all at one time to get a discount. So it was my fault that I didn't read closer but I never thought just because I had a service last year, they would automatically do it again the next year. So I would warn to read your mailings from them carefully. They provide a great service and my lawn never looked better but I don't agree with the auto renewal on extra services performed.

Lawn is much better than last year.

This is the second year we have used Spring-Green (Plainfield) in Naperville for their full series of treatments from spring to fall and our lawn improved dramatically last year, lush green grass and got rid of creeping charlie. Love that they call the day beforehand so we know when they are coming and can change the date if needed. Price is competitive.

They are good. We have used them for years. Whenever there has been any problem, and there has been one or two, they work towards solving it. One time, they were like, "I am sorry about this. We are going to waive all charges and do the service free properly". I really recommend them. They are cheaper and better than their competitor. Before they come out for any service, they call me the night before, just to confirm that they can come out and do it. I think that is very good. I have tried different service providers but I have used these ones for years.

We are happy with the service. Just one person comes out and it takes them about 15 minutes. We are satisfied with the results. Initially there were some communication issues, but now everything is is fine and there are no issues.

Surprised to find their bill hang to our door since we did not call the lawn service. Called right away and was told because we did not cancel their service from last year !!! I don't like the way they handle things. I cancelled the service right away and will never use their service again and will definitely warn all my friends!

My lawn had suffered during last summer's drought and had what appeared to be significant damage from either grubs or sod webworms. I had been applying fertilizer, weed killer, grub and insect control myself. I contacted Spring Green for professional help and they sent a lawn technician out within an hour or two of my call. He suggested that I have them do a lawn aeration and over seeding followed by an application of their winter lawn fertilizer a few weeks later. On the day they were suppose to perform the aeration and the over seeding I waited at home most of the day for the lawn technician to show up so that I could make sure he covered several bare spots that I had on the lawn. However, I had an errand that I needed to run late in the afternoon. While I was away, the technician had arrived at my house and performed the lawn aeration and over seeding. I was disappointed to see that he had missed two of the bare spots completely and the rest of the coverage seemed rather sparse to me. Based on this experience I can not recommend Spring Green of Plainfield, IL. and I did not continue their lawn service this year.

They are very good at calling the day before since we have a dog and also let us know their service is pet friendly as far as the chemicals they use. They are prompt, reliable, and do a good job. I have used other leading services in the past and their service surpasses them all.

My lawn doesn't look all that spectacular compared to my neighbors so I can't say what they are paying but i think finding out who they are using maybe the way to go.

I would not recommend them. I didn't like them at all. I spent $350 but because I was so unhappy they gave me a refund so I spent about $200. A good portion of my lawn died. We had a drought and I think their product had something to do with that because my neighbor's lawn did not die. I called them because I thought my lawn was having trouble and it took them quite some time to come out to evaluate it. When they did, they said it was dead. I entrusted my lawn to them and I was paying them. They agreed that it was dead.

They always leave a receipt with a list of the services completed. They are not pushy with services but will provide you recommendations for your lawn. I have been using them for several years and have been very satisfied.

I just wouldn't go with them. I had some issues with some ghost sprayings and when I was confronted, I was actually verbally attacked by the technician that came out and do it.

It was fine, most of the weeds were stopped.

I will hire them again for next year

Spring-Green did a fantastic job with my weed prevention and fertilization last year, however, this season was a completely different story. On two occasions sloppy application of the chemicals burnt my lawn. After the second occurrence, which was quite severe, I faxed photos and phoned to terminated their services. Reception indicated that management would be calling me. I never received a call, but they did refund my payment for the first incidicent and did not charge me for the second. This, however, did not repair the damage done to my lawn. Thereafter I received a letter offering 10% off lawncare visits it I were to reinstate. I would not consider using this company again unless someone would take the time to view the damage and offer full recompense. 10% reduction on poor service is not worth the risk.

This is our third year with them. They are very good. I like their customer service. Our lawn looks the best in the last 22 years. They are very courteous. They call a day or two before they come and let me know when they are coming. They answer my questions and are really good. They are very reliable. If you have any issues, they will resolve it quickly. They are competitive as well.
