We are happy to work with homeowners needing complete remodel, do-it-yourself homeowners, homeowners with their own contractor, architects, interior designers and contractors.
Patty with River Oak Cabinetry was very understanding that I didn't want to spend $50,000 on renovating a kitchen, and was completely willing to do a smaller job (hard to find in a kitchen contractor)! She coordinated the choice of the granite and tile, matching budgetary requirements with good design principles. During execution, the plumber found a cracked pipe that needed to be replaced. Patty immediately called, sent a picture of the issue, asked for permission to go ahead and fix the issue. Kudos for (a) finding the issue and (b) communicating first before moving forward! The quality of the work is fantastic; I'm so pleased. When it comes time to renovate the bathrooms, I'll go back to River Oak Cabinetry.

I liked the designer personally very much. I did not like the proposed ideas for the kitchen remodel at all. The design would not have worked for the space in terms of flow of traffic through the kitchen. In my opinion, the company was very slow to respond with the design after our initial meeting, which is shown to you on a computer in their office. I was told up front I would have to pay $1000 for any drawing or picture provided to me which I felt was very over priced. It was not an architectural drawing, just a sketch or print a picture from the computer to show my contractor. None of it was to scale. I did not use this company for the remodel based on this experience.

We were very pleased by the work done. Leo (Owner and carpenter) and his sub-contractors were all very skilled, professional, accomodating and neat, cleaning up the premises nicely upon completion. The work was done in a timely manner. Patty (co-owner, designer and job coordinato) was a marvel, handling zillions of details, handholding us thru the numerous decisions we needed to make. She juggles so many things you forget she's human, like the rest of us. We plan to contact River Oak again when we're ready to tackle our next project.
Description of Work: We had the cabinets, countertops, and backsplash replaced with upgraded materials(wood cabinets, granite countertops, ceramic tile) along with the sink, faucet and garbage disposal. They also installed a new dishwasher and micro. We also had them reinstall some of the old cabinets in our basement and garage. There were no walls moved, no new electric work, and there was no change to the footprint of the kitchen design.

They worked with us closely and spent a lot of time helping with the design and coordination of the cabinets, countertops, lighting, appliances, and colors. In addition, the quality of work was great, the work was completed on-schedule, they were very responsive to our questions throughout the project, and were a pleasure to work with. Costs were right in the middle of all our estimates. If you are thinking of a kitchen remodel - have River Oaks do it - we highly recommend them for their service, design expertise, and quality workmanship.

We had a complete kitchen remodel completed by River Oak Cabinetry. Patti and her team were all very professional and extremely willing to work within our budget. Patti was a big help with design and did an excellent job coordinating all the workers and keeping everyone on schedule. Communication was very open throughout the process. Anytime we had questions, Patti and/or Leo were available. The finished product is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. We would definitely work with them again.

Everything went beyond smooth. Install was great, designers were great. Patty was very accommodating and great to work with. If I have anymore cabinet projects, I'm calling them.
Description of Work: They first did a design for our kitchen remodel. They met our exact needs to a T. Was absolutely perfect. We decided to not go with their cabinets, in hindsight we wish we had just spent the money on their cabinets. The cabinets they offered were exquisite. Our GC was able to adapt the drawings to his cabinet guy, which made the overall project run smooth. River Oak's design people are excellent. We had an additional project for an under stair dry bar wine area, they came in, did the drawing to our exact specs and used their cabinets. Was a perfect match to our other cabinets.

River Oaks Cabinetry is top notch! We did a complete kitchen, dining room, and entryway rehab and we are thrilled with the results. Catherine, our designer, was fantastic. She found out what our tastes were and designed our kitchen with that in mind. She always listened to us and helped guide us in the decision making when we needed it. Patty, our project manager, bent over backwards to make sure that people were here when they were supposed to be, that the work was perfect, and that we were satisfied. Leo, the co-owner, made sure that all the work was done to our satisfaction and everything looked and operated great. We would definitely recommend River Oaks for any home improvement project!!

Entire room was taken down to the studs, then new electrical, plumbing, fixtures, etc. Patty was great to work with as a designer, and made plans very quickly and was very helpful with suggestions. We did not want to do this project without a good designer because making a bad design choice can really compromise the look and use of the bathroom. Patty also had access to a number of plumbing and tile showrooms where you had plenty of choices of product to pick from. Leo was the head contractor and made sure the installation by subcontractors and the inspections were on time. All the subcontractors were courteous and progressional, and I would not hesitate to have any of them back to do work. The remodel exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend River Oak for either bathroom or kitchen remodeling.

We got three quotes for a new kitchen island. Two of the three cabinet companies didn't even visit our home. Unlike the other two, Patty from River Oak Cabinetry came out and took complete measurements of our existing kitchen and cabinetry. She used those measurements to provide us with a 3-D rendering of our new kitchen island. The three-dimensional views were extremely helpful in visualizing how the new island would look in our existing kitchen. Kevin did a great job on the design. It was a complex design, but nothing got overlooked. When the materials arrived, Leo had everything he needed to complete the installation. Leo was very meticulous and did an awesome job on the install. He was very careful not to scratch our newly refinished floors. He even gave me a helpful tip on installing our dishwasher. Their pricing was comparable to our other two quotes. I would recommend River Oak Cabinetry to anyone looking for a kitchen remodel.

I did not use her because she did not provide the style that I was looking for. From a service perspective she was an A+
Description of Work: She provided timely estimates and was helpful by connecting me with her granite fabricator
I have only the highest praise for the excellent quality work Patty and Leo performed. I first consulted with Patty on the kitchen design. She had thoughtful recommendations to make regarding each aspect of the design. She was dedicated to making sure the design reflected MY wishes, MY style, within a budget that I considered reasonable. As we began looking for materials, such as the granite for counter tops, I felt as if Patty was just as interested in finding that "perfect" item as I was. She was not going to settle for second-best. As demolition and reconstruction started, River Oak continued to provide excellent quality. The trades people they brought in (plumbing, heating, electrical, dry wall, painting) were all very professional, and committed to providing excellent quality service. At the end of each day, the room was carefully swept and tidied up. River Oak diligently kept to the schedule they initially proposed; the only slip was caused by faulty material received from a supplier. Equally, the budget remained constant. All the change orders processed resulted in less than 1/2 of 1% additional expenditures than the original contract. I could not be more pleased with my beautiful new kitchen!
Description of Work: A complete renovation of the kitchen: New cabinets New granite counter tops New lighting - recessed ceiling lights, in-cabinet, under-cabinet, pendants over island, fixture over kitchen table Repair and refinishing of hardwood floor Installation of new appliances and new sink Painting of ceiling and walls The cost of appliances is NOT included in the project price.

We had a wonderful experience working with this company. They had wonderful ideas for re-modeling our space, they were very good about keeping to the budget we had set. They were on time and worked all day. My kitchen is beautiful and I am so pleased with the way it turned out. I plan to have them back next year to update my bathrooms.
Description of Work: They remodeled our kitchen. It was gutted down to the drywall,. They took out a bay window and put in a patio door in its place. They moved the door to the dining room over a few inches and took out a pantry closet. All the cabinets were replaced and the footprint of the kitchen was changed. They subcontracted out the electrical, plumbing, counters and tile backsplash. They have people they work with on a regular basis and kept a tight schedule. Everyone who came to do a job was punctual and pleasant. I was very comfortable giving them access to the house when I wasn't there. Everything flowed well and they were done basically on the date they projected in the beginning.

I could not have asked for a better experience especially since I was 8 and 9 months pregnant during our remodeling. Remodeling a house makes a significant impact on your daily life, but through River Oaks calm demeanor, incredible scheduling and professional attention to detail, it made the whole process much more easy to accomplish. They never went over budget and they stuck to the timeline which were two very important aspects for us. I would highly recommend anyone to use their services, they will be very happy with the end result.
Description of Work: Remodel Kitchen -new layout of kitchen -removal of pantry walls and door -new cabinets -refinished floors -new lighting -new appliances When we first moved into our new home we knew that we wanted to have a dramatic makeover of our kitchen. Our first step was to go to Angie's List to find a reputable designer/contractor, and we couldn't have been more happy with the outcome. From the first consultation River Oaks took the time to find out exactly what we were looking for, and then took ownership of the project in a way that showed they truly cared. River Oaks walked us through all of the details, provided suggestions on improvements, and focused on a quality finished project. All of the contractors including the flooring, carpentry, lighting, countertops, appliances and plumbing were all top notch professionals. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they also went about completing it in a very timely and professional manner.
River Oaks Cabinetry was a very dependable and professional company to work with. The quote they offered at the beginning was consistent with the price at the end of the project. The only reason I gave them a 3 on price was because they were more than what we wanted to pay. After seeing the workmanship of the job, you get what you pay for and they delivered. The sub contractors that performed tile, electrical, drywall, and plumbing were seasoned professionals and helped with a few extra fixes around the house at no extra charge. I felt comfortable having them in my house when I wasn't home. I would recommend them to friends and family.

This was a very positive experience from start to finish. They remodeled our powder room on the first floor and our kids bathroom first. Once these were completed they remodeled our master bath. There is nothing that I would change. It was such a painless process. I have heard horror stories of other companies, but that is not the case with River Oak. I'm very pleased with the work they did. My bathrooms are BEAUTIFUL!
Description of Work: We had three bathrooms remodeled. They are a full service remodeling company. They helped us pick out everything for all three bathrooms. River Oak was a wonderful company to work with. They were very professional and very personable. They stuck to their timelime exactly. We are planning on remodeling our kitchen soon. The only call we will make will be to River Oak. We highly recommend River Oak.
DESIGN Working with Kevin and Patty in designing the kitchen was a pleasure. Their showroom had many different kitchen styles, layouts, and features to see what the options were for the finishes and details. Particulary useful was their computer program that showed the end result. The program was so helpful to compare different designs and layouts. It was much easier to make decisions because you could actually see how it would look. We tested various island sizes, cabinet depths, door and drawer configurations and details such as toe kick all around the island and feet at the corners and what to put over the window above the sink. During the remodel, I restained all the woodwork on the first floor of the house and also painted most of the rooms on the first floor. The carpenter and I talked regularly, so I could setup my workspace and work around all the tradespeople. I only stained and painted when there were no tradespeople here. Patty gave us a schedule for the entire project at the beginning, which was most useful to understand how the remodel would all play out. The schedule was especially useful for me to see the order of the work, so I could manage what and when I would do the staining and painting. End Result: Removed the soffit and cabinets went all the way to the ceiling. Changed the configuration from a peninsula to an island. Changed the cabinet to the right of the fridge to a floor to ceiling cabinet. Added an upper and lower cabinet in the corner of the kitchen. Very happy with the construction process. The initial estimate was a 6-week project and it was finished in 8 weeks with very little extra cost overrun. The cabinets were a week late and the granite was cut wrong for the 40/60 sink. For our project we needed two slabs of granite. When the sink was cut wrong, the fabricator not only recut the slab with the sink, BUT recut the second slab, so all the granite was from both slabs in the same lot. This was all done at the fabricators expense. There was a misunderstanding in the layout of the tile floor and the tiler started laying the tiles in line instead of staggered. At the end of the first day of tiling, they went back and corrected that problem. We talked about many details in advance, so there were few surprises. The cost overrun was for added shelves in the cabinets, replacement of rotted floor boards near front door, use of epoxy grout, and specialized outlet covers to better match the backsplash. They really gave our project high priority and there was someone working on the project everyday. All the tradesmen were diligent in leaving our home clean at the end of everyday. The carpenter did wonders with the cabinet installation, considering not all of the walls and ceilings were square. In the end, you would never know there was any problem because the cabinets look fabulous! On the last day of the project, the only thing not finished were the outlet covers for the existing outlets and switches in the kitchen to match the new outlet covers for the backsplash.
Description of Work: Kitchen Gutted kitchen down to studs. Removed soffits over cabinets. Reconfigured the electrical panel to accommodate the additional lighting and outlets in the kitchen. Added recessed lighting in the kitchen, and a light and motion sensor in the pantry closet. Cherry cabinets, granite counterop, gooseneck faucet, 40/60 sink, tile backsplash, undercabinet lighting. New stainless steel appliances. Powder Room Gutted powder room. New counter height cherry cabinetry, granite countertop, sink, faucet, toilet. Family Room and Dining Room added crown molding First Floor Removed two layers of flooring down to the subfloor in kitchen, powder room and foyer with porcelain tile and epoxy grout. Replaced all baseboards.
We had a very positive experience. We opted to utilize all trades (painting, flooring, etc) through RiverOak Cabinetry and were very impressed by everyone involved. Our desires were made first priority...Patty, the owner, helped us make budget decisions by first helping us decide what we really wanted. The design itself ended up matching our personal vision of the space. On the construction end, it was as painless as a full kitchen remodel could be! The project ended up taking right about 8 weeks which was the original estimation. We were able make small changes along the way like adding crown moulding in an adjacent bathroom and can lighting in another room without affecting the overall timeline. The construction team was very conscientious of our space by protecting areas not being remodeled and cleaning up each day. Budget: We were over budget...surprise! But seriously most of that small (less than 6%) amount had to do with our change orders, tile & granite selections and bringing a few items up to code which we discovered once drywall was removed. Communication was very good. Both Patty, our designer, and Leo our contractor were available to us at any time of day by either a quick text message, phone call or email. Overall I'd have to say we have no reservations referring anyone to this company and would definitely utilize their services again. p.s. - I have a dog & two cats...and everyone got along very well. :)

Patty was able to envision a design that was both functional and absolutely stunning. I had very little to do with the picking of the cabinets. Having a busy lifestyle I needed a company and a person that I could trust to handle the project for me. I had certain things I wanted our built-ins to have, for instance I knew I wanted a "wine bar" type area with a wine rack and glass holders, we also wanted to hide our entertainment equipment to give our family room a clean look and Patty took it from there. Then for the installation Leo was absolutely meticulous. He spent so much time making it look "perfect". Neither one of them ever cut a corner, they also handled hiring the electrician for the electrical work so from start to finish they were in control of the project. Once the cabinets were delivered, for the next several days Leo worked meticulously and tirelessly to make sure the project stayed on schedule and every piece of the cabinets were right . He discovered that the company sent the wrong trim piece for the mantle over the fireplace, however he was able to work around that and finished the project and then came back later to install the mantle. He was able to work around the issue so we wouldn't have to deal with having a "construction site" in our family room for any longer than was necessary. While he didn't waste time yet he didn't cut corners or try to "hurry" along just to get it done. They are both very good at what they do.
Description of Work: River Oak handled the design and installation of my built-in cabinet project. Patty initially visited to take a look at the area that we had to work with. She measured out the area and then came back a few days later with a design option and a few samples of cabinets that would work well. She then went back and made some modifications to the design to incorporate a few extra features and then we were ready to go. She ordered the cabinets and a few weeks later they were delivered. Leo then began the installation project, he came and moved the furniture and covered everything so that everything would be protected. There was electrical work that needed to be done first so Leo handled working with and communicating with the electrician. Leo then handled the physical custom installation of the cabinets, when he was done he moved furniture back and cleaned up the entire work area.

An overall excellent experience. We had one major requirements; needed to replace old cabinets with something that fit into the same framework. We did not want to re-do floors since we had wood floors installed a few years back and underneath the old cabinets was not wood flooring. River Oaks worked with us to come up with a perfect solution. Measurements and ordering done by River Oaks was "spot on". The new cabintes are in place and meet our requirements perfectly, no modifications to the flooring were necessary. Additionally, the upgrades to the cabinets from our old ones were perfect as well. We enclosed our refrigerator with cabinetry giving the kitchen a totally different look. Trim and moldings really enhanced the overall look. I am a pretty handy guy and had reservations with respect to paying for a cabinet install, for I thought I could have done it myself. River Oaks convinced me that in the end, I would be better off having them installed. After seeing the cabinets arrive in 50+ boxes, and after seeing the professionalism and quality and knowledge of the River Oaks installer, I must say, that was money well spent. I am not sure I would have been able to piece it all together without re-orders and guess work. I would highly recommend that the River Oaks installes be strongly considered for any installation of cabinets. Additionally, River Oaks helped us with purchasing counter tops. They recommended a supplier (Tribeca in Plainfield). Once again, there recommendation was spot on. The counter tops fit perfectly and are a true enhancement to the kitched redesign.
Description of Work: Had custom cabinets measured and installed. Also worked with River Oaks to get counter tops.
My wife and I wanted to make sure that we got as much quality as we could and still stayed within our budget. Patty, the designer, really listened about what we liked and her design incorporated our desires. She did a far better design than we imagined using design glass in 2 accent cabinets. We have received so many compliments. Leo, the contractor simply could not have been more professional. One thing that impressed us the most is that at the end of each day, he cleaned up the kitchen and put all his tools to the side rather than just leaving everything laying around. It?s those little things that made a huge difference. We were having company coming over shortly after the expected completion date and we were a little nervous that we wouldn?t have a completed kitchen. Leo kept assuring us that it would be done. Not only did he meet the completion date but also he was 3 days early. Both Leo and Patty were easily accessible by telephone when questions arose. That communication is so important to me as this is not my area of expertise. Additionally, the work exceeded our expectations. At one point I asked Leo why the crown molding dipped in above the sink instead of going straight across. He said that it provides an accent and aesthetically looks better. He could have just run the molding straight across but he took the time to make it look so much better. We are saving up money to remodel our bathroom and we will certainly call Patty and Leo to come up with great ideas and do professional work again.
Description of Work: My wife and I decided to have our kitchen remodeled including adding some additional cabinets. We weren’t sure exactly what we wanted so we knew we needed a designer. We picked River Oak Cabinetry & Design because they were close to us and when we talked to Patty she seemed very helpful and listened to us. We gave her our budget and she computer designed our kitchen. We worked with her to make some changes. We were so pleased that her design was so much to our liking and within our budget. She certainly listened to what we wanted. Her contractor, Leo, ripped out all the old cabinets, countertops, soffits, and lighting. He put in new countertops with crown molding, new lighting, new granite countertops and moved the dishwasher to a different place allowing us more room.
