They have not been out to do the work yet. We got an estimate and design from them. They did not charge for the estimate.

I definitely do not recommend Likes Landscaping!! My first clue things would not go smoothly was when the crew arrived on the first day to lay our patio without a copy of my plan. Fortunately, I had an extra one and they were able to get right to work. Communication and follow-up/through was poor throughout the entire process. I waited hours for Paul (Likes) to show up for scheduled appointments he set for us to discuss the process and answer questions as the project progressed. He never called to let me know he was running late or wouldn’t be there at all. Ultimately, we were satisfied with our patio but another company could have done the same job. And with much less frustration and work on my part!!! It just wasn’t worth it. Two years later I’m still frustrated with Paul and his poor customer service. One of the two trees he planted did not come back healthy and strong the next season. When I spoke with him by phone last year about a replacement tree he was very accommodating. That quickly changed once he came out to look at the unhealthy tree and saw that we had the rest of our landscaping done by another company. I guess he assumed he would be getting that contract too but I just couldn’t work with him again after the communication issues the first time around. All of a sudden he refused to honor his replacement warranty. I had a certified arborist from a well-known, reputable tree care company come out this summer to begin a fertilization plan for all of our new trees and shrubs and his professional opinion was that the trees poor condition was NOT due to overwatering (the only reason Paul ever gave for not replacing it). I’ve contacted Paul numerous times this summer asking him to honor his warranty based on this new information but he hasn’t even come out to take another look at the tree (even though he has promised to do so by email several times). Paul has been stringing me along all summer with promises but no follow through. Sound familiar? Meanwhile, the new landscaping company we used came out within a few weeks this summer with just one email from me and replaced everything that didn’t come back. THIS is the action of a reputable landscape company! I do not recommend working with a company that arbitrarily decides whether or not to honor their contract based on personal feelings and not facts!

They did a very good job in design and doing the initial work. We selected them from multiple landscaping companies, based on the design and enthusiasm that we saw, at least initially. We were and are happy with the design and outcome of the initial work. However, finishing the job to full satisfaction remained as a significant issue after the initial work, the company was impossible to get any response from and continues to remain so. Broken promises every time - no regard for given word or even set appointments or response/acknowledgement to multiple messages. Our problems started once the initial job was completed and with our expectations that was very clear and agreed/promised that they will fix issues as they come. This was promised and repeatedly confirmed with the proprietor himself. The work also had one year warranty on some stuff (plants, workmanship, etc.) and 2 years on some (pavers and hard landscape). Soon after the job completed, we started seeing problems incl. some serious ones such as a) like loose pavers on stairs, retaining walls etc. which are safety risk and can hurt someone by twisted ankle or a fall b) trees that are not meant to be in full-sun planted in full sun c) trees not planted straight (on angle), etc. Now the pavers are sinking and the retaining walls, stairs, etc. are not stable and need constant maintenance. We tried (and continue to try) to reach out to the company multiple times, with phone calls and text messages. Very seldom you get any response - in spite of directly calling owner and texting him. Even when rarely we get confirmation that someone will come on a particular day to fix issues --- we would wait at home to make sure we can get things corrected, no one shows up and no messages or apologies even later. This trend continues ? always same result. Only one issues was dealt promptly (in two months ? I would call it prompt based on our experience) was a water leak in our water featuring causing water to drain. Our biggest complaint is with professional courtesy of keeping promises and showing up on set appointments (forget time, even date or week and now I can say even year). If one cannot make it at minimum we expect a phone call or a message to let us know of cancellation so that one does not wait. In the end we did some work ourselves and for other we hired other landscaper. Now, considering getting the job done with other companies and pursuing my options to see if I can recover some of the costs paid to this company. The company also did not bother to pursue additional work. Promised us to drop estimates for maintenance multiple times, nothing happened (till date). Promised us to give estimate and design for additional work (arbors, etc.) ? no follow up. I would not recommend this company as in few cases we did it to our friends (after the initial work was complete), they also got same unprofessional attitude with broken promises and appointments and non-responsiveness. To their credit, I would say that their workers and staff were good, did good job and were very courteous. But as for the management - I reserve my judgment. Very disappointing customer service. Lack of professionalism.
