Jim Phelps Landscape

Things went very well. They showed up sooner than expected and did all the work while we were gone. It seemed very efficient and we are happy with the bushes they recommended. I've been told by other professionals that I was overcharged, but Jim was very personable, knowledgeable, and seemed like he was giving us a deal. We needed the work done soon, and he was available when others weren't. His business has been around a long time so they definitely know what they're doing.

Waited for months probably because the job wasn't big enough. Received a 5-yr. guarantee. Many of the porch stones on the front edge came loose this spring (3 yrs.) It took a couple of months to get workers to begin repairs even though we told Mr. Phelps that it posed a danger. The workers didn't return to grout so we placed another call many weeks ago. In the mean time one of the repaired stones came loose. We placed another call. Still waiting.....

He's very professional. He explained in great detail what we could expect and how it would look. His people were here when we expected them, they finished on time. When they made a mistake and made the path turn at a 45 degree angle instead of curve he apologized and had then pull it out and redo the job. If I had any future work to do I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Great company but you will pay for every last bit of their services.

Exceptional service, good value, exceeded expectations

They do a great job. They cut my grass and trim my trees and do my edging. They always cut it exactly the way it needs to be cut. I have never had a problem and I've been using them for the past 3 or 4 years. Their quality of service is high. I have a pond in my backyard. I'll call the owner and say, well this year I would like to make the entryway a little more approachable with different flowers. I don't have to know the flowers, he knows what to put in there. In the spring time he will suggest these kind of flowers. I don't know anything about mulch. He will call and say, you asked to be reminded, now is the time you need to put mulch out. If I have plants that are on the last leg that are dying they will pull them out and put in plants that are more colorful and hardy. We had a tree that died in our yard and I said, I don't know what to do with the tree. They came and pulled it out and put in grass, filled in the hole. You wouldn't even know that the tree was there. I had one section that I wanted some greenery to create a privacy wall between me and one of my neighbors because it is open and we don't have a fence, so I wanted to put trees there to create a natural border and he knew exactly what kind of bushes to put in there so that they would grow all the same height. The bushes there will hold a lot of water so if we get a lot of rain they won't wash out because they can hold a lot of water in their roots. He has lived here a very long time and he knows what the land is like out here. He is a little bit pricy, but he brings the entire crew out and they get the work done. You would never know they were here because they keep the landscaping always looking well groomed. The guy we had before would get grass clippings in my pond that would jam up the pond. With these guys, I don't have to worry about that, they understand that.

He was very good with his non-english speaking crew, able to fluently communicate with them to make sure the job got done to his (and our) satisfaction. We felt the price was totally in line with the amount and quality of work that was done.
