Jim's Painting & Decorating

Just had the first floor and much of the 2nd floor painted. Jim was fantastic to work with; detailed estimate, easy to communicate with, he worked around our crazy schedule, offered ideas and input on color choices; and the end product is just fantastic! I would highly recommend Jim and will be calling him again for future projects!

I had two coupons, he said he wasn't going to take them together, but then he would. It was just a horrible job. He lied to me. He really did not do it right. I had paint all over the bottom on the floor. He told me that he had primed it, and he didn't. He said he ran out of my primer, and I told him I had extra. He said he had some. He never used it; it was a big lie. He told me he used an oil paint, that you have to prime one day and come back. Well, he slathered it on one day. It wasn't that expensive. The price was good, but for the work he did, I'd give him a D. I talked to him about the priming and coming back. He said it was two days and then he goes no, we could do it one day. Everyone told me you have to let the primer dry. Like I say when he left I had paint on the bottom deck of the floor.

Jim was very detailed in his estimate and timely in his communication. He was very fast, thorough and courteous. He was willing to meet me after hours to go through the work and receive payment. He left everything very clean and his work as extremely well done.

The painting was great but there was paint spilled on several places on the carpet and furniture. Also paint was spilled on my brick exterior.

Jim's team arrived on time and did a great job on all 3 rooms. They matched the colors I had selected and did a very good job on the rooms. They also cleaned up everything when they were done (including vacuuming). Overall I was very happy with their service.

Jim did a great job, was very easy to work with. My bedroom was a little larger than the coupons dimensions but he did complete it and charged me a little bit more for the extra wall footage.

Gave me an estimate and then helped me pick out colors. Very very helpful because I didn't know what I wanted to go with. Painted living room, dining room, stairway to basement, bedroom, hallways, woodwork and ceiling. Price included the cost of paint for 2 coats for everything. I will probably have them back once I gather some more funding to do a master bath and another bedroom. He even got on his hands and knees to wipe up the floor to make sure nothing leaked thru the drop cloth. Moved everything to make sure paint did not get on anything. Used Sherman Williams, the good stuff. They said they would be out of here in 3 days and he was done about a half a day earlier. Everyone else said a week. They even gave me good ideas on where to use drapes and some other decorating ideas. He has a website with ideas and jobs on where they used blinds and curtains.

They painted my foyer, kitchen and hallways. They did a good job overall. They were there on time every day and cleaned up at the end of the day.

Jim was great, on the jobsite every morning quick and punctual, helped make color suggestions on the fly and made our home look beautiful. We had alot of other moving pieces around the home and he worked around everything we threw at him. Very straightforward and honest guy, will hire again in the future!

Everything went extremely well! Jim came to our house initially to give us some color ideas/suggestions and gave us a written estimate. We were very happy with Jim's color suggestions and he guided us towards the right shades of colors for our house/decor. He pointed out things we hadn't even thought of. He came out a second time to look at some samples and help us decide on our final color choices. The job started a few days later and took Jim and his crew of 1-2 guys 3 days to finish. I can't emphasize enough how well this job went! I've become pretty critical of home improvement contractors due to bad experiences in the past. However, Jim's Painting was exemplary. They showed up on time everyday, were very friendly, and cleaned up very well at the end of each day. We could "live" in our house each night while the job was in process. The quality of the paint job is amazing. The lines are straight, colors are even, and all previous wall imperfections were fixed to my satisfaction. I can't believe how much better the trim looks! During the morning of the last day, I walked through the house with Jim pointing out areas that I thought needed attention...he took care of it all. I'm having my hardwood floors refinished in a couple of months and Jim is going to come back to do any necessary touch-ups...that's great service! I couldn't be happier with my whole experience, from the prompt communication to the final product, everything was outstanding! Friendly, prompt, quality service at a fair price - that should be Jim's slogan! I will most certainly call Jim whenever I have a painting project in the future and would recommend him to anyone who needs painting service. Thanks!

Jim helped to guide us in picking colors so we didn't end up with everything looking beige and boring when we were finished. Jim Moore and his crew are terrific to work with and very flexible. They operate on a hand shake and good faith - something rare in this world. My wife & I were very pleased with the results. So much so, we wanted to post a picture on Angie's List of the work done by Jim's Painting & Decorating. GREAT JOB & at a very fair price after getting 12 estimates as competitive bids from other vendors (all from Angie's List) - not the cheapest, nor most expensive - but certainly a VERY good value which I can't say enough about the product of their efforts. Highly recommended!
