Wall Doctor has been in business since the early 90s, we provide excellent workmanship done in a highly efficient manner. While some companies have "handymen" that "can do" this or that, we at Wall Doctor employ professionals in each trade we work within so as to assure our customers the piece of mind that should be theirs when bringing workman into their home. We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) check or cash as forms of payment. Payment on smaller jobs is differed to completion of project, larger jobs are split into 2-3 equal payments throughout the course of said project.
I felt I was being pressured for an uncharge service which I declined . My appointment was at Noon , they showed up at 8am without any notification . I was lucky someone was there . The person I had there asked why they didn't cover the floors , and they insulted him by saying Oh you're one of those guys . The house was left with dirt and dust over the wood and floors of the house . There are plenty of companies to choose from , I chose the wrong one I recommend look elsewhere

I called to get some painting and some carpentry work done. I spoke to Ken. He said he was in the middle of something and if I could text him my information and what work I was looking to get done, he would call me later in the evening. Guess what? No call. 7am the next morning I get a text from Ken asking for my email address and a general schedule of my availability. Gave Ken my email said I am flexible but mornings and evenings are best. 5pm I get the next text from Ken. Can I define morning and evening hours? Seriously? Is this a grown professional? Waste of time in my opinion. Can't pick up the phone and have a conversation? Go online and look up the definition of morning or evening Ken, I have to find a competent person to do the work I need done.

Ken is great to work with and the gentlemen he sent to complete the job was great as well. Very polite and did an excellent job. I had them re-tape my entire two-car garage walls and ceiling and then do the mudding....basically to get the walls and ceiling prepared for myself to paint. They did the taping and mudding and then came back a few days later when it was dry and they sanded it and cleaned up everything. The price was very fair and the best quote I received. You can be confident in hiring Ken and his team for any drywall needs.

Went great. The installers were prompt, courteous, and worked their tails off. They arrived at 07:30 and took a lunch break from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.. They left for the evening at 6:30 p.m. The entire time, they worked. They did in 2 full days what would have taken me 2 weeks and their quality was great. Owner was very responsive to voicemail and texts.

Upon searching for a provider I reached out to a few; however Ken at the Wall Doctor responded to my inquiry professionally and promptly. I then sent a photo of needed repair. Within 20 minutes I had repair options, a confirmed quote and a scheduled appointment. Ken continued communication with me throughout the process. [Member Name Removed], I am sorry you were not contacted, I (Ken) was that person you spoke to and yes many times it is a bit overwhelming working on a job site, (many times with materials that cant wait) and answering calls but I feel people want to talk to people not machines, so therefore I do my best to answer calls and indeed do direct most to the website as described. In response to the poor review, please note that "we" don't always know the "why", soooo in this case I feel I should explain as you have seen fit to trash a very good reputation in front of the masses without full info. One of my men and his girlfriend gave birth to a premature baby (22 weeks, not even weighing a pound) at about that time, the baby lived (struggled) for about 5 days and passed, I do apologize, but for the days surrounding that time work took a back seat. I would like to ask your understanding as we are all very close at Wall Doctor and it was a difficult time. Ken

I would recommend Wall Dr. for any project. I had a hard time even getting people to call me back when I reached out for a quote - it's the holiday season and I guess contractors are busy? At any rate, Ken called me back promptly and gave me a quote within a day. His quote was within our budget, which I must admit was tight. He indicated the job would take two days. And sure enough, despite some challenges to drywalling this particular room, the workers were prompt, timely and good at what they do. They did things I didn't think they would. Drywalling is an art, and Wall Dr. is very good at what they do. I won't hesitate to call them for any future home projects I have.
I did a lot of homework before selecting a contractor to complete this job. I got five quotes, checked references on line, and asked for referrals from the insulation company we used who are the ones who tore up our bathroom to begin with due to condensation as a result of poor insulation at the rim joists. Ken was not the highest or the lowest quote I received. However, he was the most consistent and responsive with the best reputation. Drywall Day: Let me tell you - the insulation guys tore up my bathroom. Their cuts were jagged, they had spray foam everywhere, they stapled plastic into every wall, and I felt terrible for the drywall people who had to put it back together. Ken sent two men to repair the drywall. They were quiet guys, but extremely respectful of my home and very professional. They replaced over 50 square feet of drywall that was sloped up to a ten foot ceiling. They even did some minor repair to the walls/window sill to prepare it for painting the following week. Their taping and skill with replacing the drywall put me at ease immediately that I made the right decision in choosing Ken for this job. These guys were really top notch. Painting Day: Ken let me know ahead of time that drywall and painting would be about a week apart. I was completely fine with this and I really appreciated him letting me know proactively about the scheduling. His excellent communication allowed me to have reasonable expectations of what to expect for scheduling and timing of the job. Painting went smoothly. Ken is punctual, polite, funny, and most importantly - he is very skilled! This is not exactly a tiny bathroom and it has a lot of obstacles like two large vanities, a shower, a jaccuzi tub, mirrors, etc. He painted the ceilings in the bathroom, water closet, and hallway. While the ceiling dried Ken prepped the walls. Ken was a true professional working with speed, efficiency, and a great attention to detail. The lines where the wall meet the ceiling were sharp and not wavy. I really dislike when I walk into a room and look up and you can see where an unsteady hand made wavy paint lines into the white of the ceiling - Ken's lines were crisp and just as I would expect them to be when paying a professional to do the job. Once the paint was up on the ceiling and walls it was also clear what an outstanding job the drywall guys did as well. You could not see a drywall seam - it is flawless. I recommend Ken for any painting and drywall needs. He himself is a true professional and obviously takes great pride in his work. Based on my experience with his drywall team, he only hires the best to work alongside him. I already requested to be added to his schedule to paint our nursery and put up a chair rail (preliminary quote is between $500-600 for that job INCLUDING paint and chair rail). Ken also does remodeling - I really look forward to using him for several tile jobs, vanity replacements, back-splash, etc in the future.
Description of Work: After a large insulation project in our master bath (10 x 10), we needed drywall replaced in our bathroom ceilings. Ken's team replaced the drywall in our sloped 10 foot ceilings in both the bathroom and the adjoining water closet. Ken himself came out and did the painting the following week.

Ken was informative and pleasant on the phone, so we scheduled a firm appointment for March 12 but he was a no-show. During our discussion he mentioned that I should call to remind him - which I did not agree to - simply because that is his responsibility. In my opinion, the reminder request and subsequent no-show told me his level of interest.

I certainly do apologize to this this member, it was not my intention to miss an appointment, the fact is when the call came in I was working on a project that I could not stop in the middle of to take info or access my calendar. I believe this was expressed in my request that he please return the call. The request that he please call back is one that I have made several times in the past (never a complaint) as I am actually out on site working in the field and not simply sitting taking phone calls. The nature of the work we do often times does not allow me to stop on a moments notice, I do take calls over the Bluetooth while working because I want people to actually reach a human being when ever possible. I am sorry this member chose to make the decision not to call back or use the website to place his estimate request, instead assuming I was uninterested from the start? That being the case I question his "expecting and/or waiting" for me to make an appointment that I had already notified him I would need a reminder of ...whether he agreed to call back or not he was on notice it would slip my mind as my focus in that moment was on the work at hand. I might simply suggest that this gentlemen be a slight bit more accommodating to the small people in the world around him. Ken

The first person who came out to do the estimate did not include the floor damage. After the drywall was repaired & the next repairman came out, he realized the extent of the floor damage & the plumbing repairs that would be necessary. The owner Ken came out & apologized & noted that they would have to cut into the repaired drywall so the plumbers could correct the problem from below. There would be no charge for repairing the drywall again. We arranged another date for the plumber & the drywall technician and eventually everything was repaired to our satisfaction. I felt that the cost of $825.00 was very reasonable considering that two plumbers came out along with the drywall repair people.

I have mixed reviews for the work that was completed by Wall Doctor. My office was the first room that was painted by Rudy one of Wall Doctor's employees. He did a really nice job painting the walls, ceiling and closet…excellent work. Based on that work I decided to hire the same company to do the walls in the living room, living room ceiling and some walls on the second floor. Wall Doctor had a professional taper come and do some repair work that needed to be done on the ceiling. Three painters came, Rudy and two younger painters, one of whom I was told was the owner's son. The two younger workers seemed slower and less experienced, especially one of them. Rudy told me that the younger workers were actually getting in the way of getting the work done. While that was also my perception at times, I was not watching them for the whole time they were working. The work took two days. The ceiling looked great. However, one wall which was not to be painted was painted. I did tell all of the painters and the owner which wall was not to be painted. I pointed out and explained to them that it was a little darker color and I wanted it left that way. No one took notes. I do want to acknowledge that in an effort to help out the painters my husband took the plates off of all the electrical outlets including the wall that was not to be painted and I understand that that could have been confusing. However, I did carefully explain it to them after the plates were removed. In fact one of the young men asked me for clarification between two sections of the wall which I provided. After the one wall that was not to be painted was painted I expressed my dismay but did not make a big deal about it except that I didn't want to be charged for it. All of the other walls look really good except for one wall where some repairs had been made to the wall where the outline of the repaired areas could be seen and looked like smudges - I asked the owner and Rudy to fix them and the owner and Rudy did work to fix these places. However, all of the paint had not dried before they finished so I could not determine if the "fix" was successful until later. One spot still shows and is bothersome…it kind of glares out at you as an imperfection. There were also places that were rough and had not been leveled out prior to painting above the Fireplace that I noticed after the painters left and the paint had fully dried. Other than this one wall, overall the painting looked great. However, we paid a lot of money and I was going to ask the owner to at least fix the one spot when he returned to complete the other jobs we agreed he would do and for which he provided bids. We added some area to the job which was originally bid at $900.00 and for which we paid about $1150. I did not argue with him about the final price which was higher than the bid because additional areas were painted and I thought the final price was fair. He did not itemize out how he arrived at the extra amount or ask to go over what work was added. In fact I believe it was hard for both of us when he came to do the work because the specific walls to be painted were not detailed out in writing. In fact he emailed me that he had lost his notes and asked me to confirm the bid he had provided for me. We payed him promptly with a credit card for which he charged us 3% extra. I thought his rates were just a little high compared to some bids I received and similar to other bids. No one else said they would charge for using a credit card to pay. I experienced it as very unprofessional to give a bid and start work and then not be in contact with the customer for over six weeks and then the fact he did not respond to my email was distressing and I felt disrespectful. I found it very frustrating to be told that he didn't have workers to finish the job on the one hand and then to tell me to tell my friends and family about him for work they may have. I want to be fair in this review that most of the work that was completed was really well done. However, having to start over to find another company takes additional time and left us months behind the date we had wanted the work completed. Also, after you have paid a lot of money for a paint job it is disappointing to have one spot about 3 inches by one inch in the middle of a wall about eye level that you see everyday that looks like a smudge. The homeowner never discussed with me that he felt concerned that I had asked his painters to do extra work. He came on site several times during the project and knew that I had asked them to do certain walls. I believe a lot of the confusion came from the fact that he was not detailed in his bid and in fact lost his notes (I have an email in which he advised this). To the best of my recollection I reviewed with him areas that were added. I told him that I knew the final bill would be higher. I never expected to get anything for free and am deeply offended by his suggestion that my husband and I were trying to do so. If he believed he should have been paid more he never discussed it with me. My recollection is that part of the reason more areas were painted was due to the fact that either paint or drywall tape had gotten on another section of the ceiling. I can see how the design of the room with a large vaulted ceiling and walls that lead into other areas could be confusing for all involved and in retrospect the bid should have been much more detailed and walls specified clearly in some manner before the painting began. I have bids, not just talk, about doing other work. I have emails from the owner that confirm that I contacted him about doing the other work. His responses are listed above. From this experience I have learned that it is really important to get much more detail in the bids from contractors. I have learned a lot from this experience and will make sure everything is specified in writing in all future work that I have done by any company. The A that I gave for punctuality is for the work that was completed and I did not factor in the work that was not done. On the other hand the F for responsiveness is based on the fact he never responded to my email or contacted me for over six weeks to schedule a time to complete the work that was to be done. If I were to evaluate him just on the work that was completed I would give him an A or a B because he was responsive to questions and completed the work in a timely manner. I am giving him a F for professionalism because he never responded to my email regarding finishing the work that he bid and for which he knew I wanted completed and also for poor communication with me. He lost his notes and asked me to remind him of the dollar amount of the bids he provided me orally. If he had concerns about the extra areas that were painted he never discussed it with me. I also think he had a responsibility to let me know he had a worker on the job that was being trained. To accuse a customer of trying to get something for free and to have never discussed the concerns with them is disingenuous. And finally to report that I had not contacted him about completing the rest of the work is not true since I have emails to confirm otherwise.
Description of Work: I used Wall Doctor for painting - his employe, Rudy, painted the walls, ceilings, and closet in an upstairs room which is my home office. Late he had a professional taper repair a part of a seam in a vaulted ceiling, then three painters including Rudy painted the walls in the living room and second floor loft and hallways and living room ceiling. He finished the work on August 5, 2015. He had provided a bid for additional painting which I confirmed that I wanted him to do and which I believed he would be doing shortly after this work was completed. However after he finished the living room and the second floor walls he emailed me on August 6, 2014 with links to places I could provide reviews of his work including Angie's list which had a note below stating: "Thank you for having us in your home, please keep us in mind for any needs you/friends and family may have in the future." I emailed him back and said: "I'll post reviews when we are finished with all the work - do you have more information about when you can schedule the bedroom?. He emailed me" Sorry Christine...we are buried right now, I am hiring help when we find qualified men (not an easy task). I have your file on my desk, wont forget you." On that same day I emailed him asking for a time frame "Ken, I'm not clear what you are saying in terms of a time. A week, 2 weeks, a month, or longer? Please give me a little more information." I never received a response. I did not hear from him until yesterday September 19th when he saw the review that was posted. Prior to that he made no efforts to contact me and let me know when he would complete the work. It was my understanding that the work would be done within a few weeks.

This was a job where the homeowner asked for an estimate to do repairs/paint a large room to include a 20' volume ceiling/walls, upon arrival of the crew she began directing them to do work outside the scope of the contract without 1st contacting the office...in short trying to get something for free. She was confusing to the men even in the things they knew needed to be done. We did indeed have a man on site that day that was in training so yes I would say that there probably was a fair amount of "confusion" on his part...not a big surprise. All work contracted was completed, there was talk of doing other projects and estimates given prior to the start of the project in question but to be honest I chose not to work for a homeowner that had misguided my men in a manner that caused me to question her integrity. No money was ever taken for these other projects and I believe it was within my right to choose not to do said work. The homeowner at no time contacted me about moving forward with the other projects so to say I did not respond is to mislead the readers/clients of Angies List. I would like all to know that there are over 100 reviews to be found for Wall Doctors online that (if you read them) prove the point...THERES ALWAYS 1.
