Illinois Tree Service

The response time from the initial call to the estimate was phenomenal. They were 2 weeks out from the time of the estimate in terms of work. They came in exactly 2 weeks. The crew was polite, professional, hard working. They worked from 8 until 5 pm. And, completely cleaned up everything before they left. They asked me if they had any questions about what needed to be done before doing it which was greatly appreciated. I would and do highly recommend them to anyone that needs any kind of tree or yard service. The pricing is the most reasonable of all competitors and the quality of workmanship is exceptional.

Unfortunately, I no longer have any trees to remove. Illinois Tree removed all 4 trees on our property. 3 35'+ elm trees and 1 30' Oak tree. Matt was outstanding during the entire process. He was on time to meet for his estimate, responded to texts/calls/emails and most importantly, was on time the morning of removal. His crew was also extremely personable during the removal process.

Matt's crew came right at 8AM like he promised. The crew of four worked as a team as one cut down branches from the crab apple while two workers carried the branches to the street where they had their tree shredder. Another started to work on one of the maples. All in all they did a very good job. Moved the blocks around my crab apple and even saved my ground cover plantings. They wanted to replant them for me but I said I would do it myself. They cleaned the yard of the branches and debris. They ground the tree stump from the crab apple and the arborvitae and left the wood chips for me as mulch. ( I asked for it). They were done in less than 3 hours. A couple of days later, I noticed the crab tree stump was about 4 inches higher than I wanted and I emailed Matt to ask him to regrind it down. He sent one guy the very next day to finish the job.

Matt responded to my call the same day. We had 2 ash trees that were dying due to the ash borer, but we elected to removed only one at this time. He gave us a very fair estimate of the cost. Matt was very accommodating to our schedule and did the work on a Saturday. He and his crew were punctual and very professional. They removed the tree and ground the stump, and removes the dead woid from the remaining tree. We were particulary pleased with the clean up of all of the branches from the yard and driveway. Great job!

Matt responded to my call the same day. He came out the next day and gave an estimate on the spot along with several options (trim v cut down some of the trees). He was easy to work with and took time to answer questions. It was nice to get the estimate immediately. The crew came out a week later to do the work. Matt was there the whole time to supervise and do much of the work as well. They completed the job quickly and cleaned up well. Matt even trimmed a few branches that were over hanging the fence and did not charge for it. I would not hesitate to use Illinois Tree Service again.

It went quite well. John was out for the estimate and Matt came with a five-man crew for the job a week later. The team was hard-working and cleaned up well too. Will call them again once we need more tree work! Definitely recommend.

Illinois Tree Service was by far the best priced tree service we researched. I scheduled a Saturday with Matt, but advised that we had plans in the afternoon for which we had to leave. Matt suggested an 8:00am appointment time so that his crew would be in and out with no interference on our plans. When corresponding with Matt to schedule our appointment, I also requested additional work be done such as trimming overgrown trees from a foreclosed house next door and the possibility of leaving the wood from the tree so that we could use it for fire wood. Matt advised there would be an additional charge for the additional work, which I fully anticipated. He advised that he would assess the cost of the additional upon arrival. On Saturday, Matt and his team didn't arrive on time, they arrived EARLY to assess the work and set up. The crew was incredibly friendly, which surprised me b/c I sure wasn't that early on a Saturday. Matt quoted me $100 for the additional work, which I felt was a very fair price. The crew was in and out so fast, if they didn't leave a pile of mulch where the tree once stood and a neat stack of fire wood, no one would have known they were there. My parent's need a tree removed and I hope Illinois Tree Service travels to their neck of the woods b/c I HIGHLY recommend this company!!

Matt came out the morning after I requested an estimate, gave a me a fair price within minutes, and we scheduled the work to be done the following week. He and his crew showed up first thing this morning as he had said he would. I am not sure how daunting a task they thought this job was, but I was amazed at the skill with which they tackled it. I was more than a little nervous as they cut limbs which towered over my roof and within inches of my home without a single scratch to the siding, gutters or roof. I had called 3 other companies for estimates, including one which I have used for over 20+ years to take care of this tree. One company's rep came out, took one look, said he'd get back to me after talking to his foreman, and then I never heard from him again. Another said this job would be easy and they could do it in 2 hours. I was pretty sure that would not be the case. Illinois Tree Service not only came in with a fair estimate, but was also considerate enough not to drive their bucket truck (which probably would have made their job a whole lot easier) onto my overly-saturated lawn and thereby tear up the grass beyond repair. The tree was on the most-inaccessbile part of my yard, but they removed a TON of branches and logs using smaller, non lawn-damaging equipment. Long story short: if these guys can handle this job, which they did, both professionally and completely, in one day, I'd trust and highly recommend them to do just about any tree trimming or removal. Excellent experience from start to finish.

Matt is exactly the kind of guy I would always look for for sub-contractors. No BS, just a straight shooter who gives you a quote on the spot (no trips back to the office) and actually comes out and does the job himself. Doesn't get much better.

It went great, as Matt was very punctual in returning my call, and coming out for an estimate. He then took the initiative to preemptively call to schedule a time that would work best for both of us, and for the weather (especially in the winter). His crew came on a Monday and knocked the job out in the AM; well done and thanks!

My 26-year-old Ash tree had become infested with Emerald Ash Borers. There was no mistaking the bark damage, woodpecker activity and the distinctive leafing pattern. Because my local Public Works Department was swamped with tree takedowns in addition to their normal duties, I decided to have the tree removed immediately because winter was fast approaching. After getting an estimate from Illinois Tree Service, I contracted with them to handle the project. They arrived within the promised time window with several trucks and a small group of workers. And they went right to work. One man (the crew chief, I assume) grabbed a chain saw, went up in the bucket truck, and started cutting away at the tree from above. Several others went right to work dragging the downed branches over to the chipping machine. Another worker started up the chipper and started feeding the branches and other debris into it. It was interesting just watching them work as a well-rehearsed team. Another machine (the stump grinder) was brought over and quickly eliminated all traces of the stump. Within an hour, the tree was gone. All that remained was a small hole which they filled in with some stump grindings. I topped that off myself with 2 bags of topsoil. All the leaves, branches and other assorted bits and pieces had been picked up, raked up and swept up. There was no leftover debris anywhere. They did a great cleanup job. I?m satisfied with the work Illinois Tree Service performed.

The team was solid all around. They were friendly and professional and I highly recommend them!

They responded to our initial call within 24 hours and were able to come out within the week to view both properties. They were punctual. With both properties they did a great job. We will use them again next year.

Crew worked very hard and efficiently to remove a very tall and wide tree and all debris. Everything was done as promised and for a good price (better than some other estimates and actual tree removals I have had in the past). The crew was courteous and business-like; everything was done safely and with minimal yard disruption. Very happy with this experience, from the time I first contacted the owner for an estimate, through the actual removal of the tree. Would definitely use again.

They showed up on time, took down my tree and ground the stump in a half hour. Came back a week later and ground stump a second time after I cleaned out the first grind.

Matt returned my initial call in a timely manner, followed up with the onsite estimate, and scheduled the work within a reasonable time. He and the crew came onsite, did the work I had requested, and hauled the branches to their chipper and away from our property. After they were finished, they also cleaned off the driveway and sidewalk. After having two other providers not even follow up with providing an estimate, Illinois Tree Service was a welcome change, and were professional from the first contact through completion of the work.

It went well. Very polite and careful. Our grand children were over watching the gentlemen as they were doing their work.

Went very well. Called for estimate to remove large tree and smalled one behind it, plus some large bushes that were dying along my fence line. Came out quickly and price was fair. They had alot of business scheduled so it took about two weeks to come out. The crew arrived and went right to work. They were very organised. I never felt that there were any safety issues. All branches and wood were hauled out to their truck and chipper. They also ground the stump with their machine. Property was cleaned completely. I was very satisfied with the service

I found Illinois Tree Service from Angie's List. I called the phone #, and Matt answered. On the same day he did an estimate for trimming 3 big trees, 2 short trees, and brushes in my front and back yard. However, it will take the company about 1.5 weeks to schedule the job since they seem very busy. Therefore, I chose a company my friend recommended to have the job done in 2 days with similar price. Anyway, the experience with Illinois Tree Service was good.

Very punctual. Did a great job and picked up. They were careful in working around flower gardens so as not to damage plants. Would hire again.

I spoke with both Matt and John. It was easy to get an estimate and schedule the time for the tree removal. They brought a big crew and had the job done in 1.5 hours. The price was great. The tree was removed quickly and safely. I had a great experience with this company. I will definitely use and recommend this company in the future.

Matt promptly came out to give me an estimate; day after I called. I wanted a Maple Tree trimmed up a bit, another Maple Tree with small branches/sucklings trimmed off, and a Crab Apple Tree trimmed/rounded. He supplied me with a price for all 3 during the call, where a competitor I had called said they'd email me a price in a day. Matt's price to the competitor was similar, but I chose the competitor because I had them do work for me before. Would I call Matt, Illinois Tree Service, Inc. again should I have other work.... DEFINITELY ! I was very pleased with his prompt service, competitive pricing, and 70+ favorable Angieslist's reviews.

Owner answered the phone when I first called; came out in 2 days to give me a quote; came in less than a week to do the work. Came on appointed day around 9am (called first) and was finished and gone by 10:15. I called two other companies and was not even able to get quotes from them before Illinois Tree Service had completed the work. Very fast and good work - will definitely use them again.
