They arrived on time. Wore protective booties and removed the old and installed the new water heater

They claim that they can do same-day emergency installs for water heaters through Lowe's, but they just strung me along. Said it would be the next day "for SURE". Then the next day comes, they can't do that either. I called a different local company that is actually trustworthy. After reading all of the horrible reviews, I probably dodged a bullet anyway. This company sounds shady AF.

Everything went great. Customer services with DRF were spot on. Very good communication. I purchased my hot water heater around 9:30am and the installer was over by 11:30am. Kevin and Erik did the job and they showed up when they were supposed to. They were efficient and very nice guys. They got the job done in about 2 hours. I’m very satisfied with the whole process and am thankful that it was able to get done so quickly.

This is the company Home Depot uses for installation of water heaters, and I strongly suggest to use a different installer. My 6 year old Rheem water heater, purchased at Home Depot, developed a leak last week. It was under mfr. warranty, and a DRF agent (thru an online HD phone number) sold me a new 40 gal, Home Depot Rheem water heater for a total invoice of $1,990.86 . DRF said they would help me retrieve warranty money for my old heater (it had a 9 year warranty) and their plumbers would take my old Rheem tank with them at no extra charge. Then, just before the installation, DRF people called to say could not return my old water heater tank to the HD store since it wasn't originally installed by them. So, I called a manager at the local Downers Grove HD and he got DRF to agree to returning it to his store for my warranty money. Then, the owner of DRF called me to again say they would not return my heater to the HD store, but later recanted and said he would make an exception for me. Well, the plumbers showed up on time but were rude, parked in front of our townhouse mailboxes and refused to move their truck. I gave them an option for placement of their truck because I said it "may not work for my neighbors or the mailman". The plumber,, Andy, gruffly said "But, it works for me!", and gave no explanation. In addition to all of this, they at first refused to wear shoe coverings; dirtied my stairway carpet with their hand truck; the second plumber became irritated that I took pictures of the carpet to show their boss; and on, and on, and on. I got exhausted with them and tried to stay out of their way. I felt very uncomfortable with them in my own townhouse. The owner of DRF later asked for pictures of the carpet and I sent him a number of them. After that, he refused to pay $175. for professional carpet cleaning of the stairs unless he makes a special appointment with me to personally view the carpet. I declined because, I prefer not having his employees or him in my house. I truly don't trust them. I have decided to take the matter up with Home Depot, because they are the ones who contracted with this unprofessional company.

I've used DRF for many years. This is my second water heater install from them. This one is a warranty replacement. Their process from start to finish is extremely well done. I could find someone cheaper but the consistent quality of their service is huge. IMHO you get what you pay for.

Kevin and his assistant did an awesome job. They replaced the old ductwork and pipes. They cleaned up their work area and made sure water was flowing in all of the faucets prior to leaving. They explained and demonstrated how to light the pilot and made sure the manufacturer’s manual was taped to the wall by the tank. I would definitely recommend this company.

All went well. The technician handled the work and ensured that I did not pay extra for the service. Awesome job.

We had ordered a replacement hot water heater from Home Depot, and arranged installation through HD, who uses DRF for this service. Kevin and his helper arrived on time, and Kevin advised me that once opening the box, he saw the water heater had a large dent on the top. Gave me the option of accepting it or rejecting it. Asked about our leaking, and investigated the water heater. Found that it was most probably a failed T&P valve. He replaced the valve, and saved us some $2,300. Both men were pleasant and professional - as was the woman I ordered the unit and arranged the installation through - Priscilla. She was equally as professional, responsive and friendly. I had many questions as I was comparing two sizes of water heaters. She was thorough and patient and researched and answered my questions without any pressure or upselling. All in all, I highly recommend DRF, whether you are contracting with them individually or through Home Depot installation services.

This is quite possibly the best home mechanical service experience I’ve ever had. I was very hesitant using their services thru Home Depot, but WOW! These folks over delivered. I received a call almost immediately after filling out an online form with my information and quickly explained what I was looking for- 75 gal power blower hot water heater. Got a complete delivered, installed to code, removal of the old tank price which seemed reasonable. Additionally, if I wanted they “normally” can do an install same day. Wow! I scheduled for the next day and was called early in the AM with an approximate time for install and a reassurance that they promise to install all scheduled installations even if they have to work past normal business hours. This is absolutely the way to run a business and not like the cement and roofing installers promising one thing and never ever delivering. Kevin and Robert showed up on time, polite and very accommodating during the install. Kevin explained that because the tank was leaking even after he drained it may and probably would leak brownish water that had collected around the insulation jacket and allowed us the time to lay down some tarps etc so the basement carpet wouldn’t get stained. Additionally, they took the time to wrap some towels around the tank and secured with bungee cords I had laying around. I’m happy to say the tank was removed with no stains or water leaking other than onto the bungeed towels. Robert did the heavy lifting getting the new tank in the basement and the old tank out, he was very very cautious of our home and really did a great job not denting or nicking anything. Kevin, had no problem answering my questions about the install, function and my general curiosity with how this unit worked vs the old one. I was shown how the new tank worked and some recommendations for maintenance. What an absolute fantastic pair for installation and customer interaction. I found the same tank Not installed, Just the tank and none of the extra parts (Pan, Expansion tank, pipe etc…, Not delivered, old tank not removed online for only 200$ less so I do believe on top of all the “extras” mentioned above this was also a fantastic deal. Thanks guys, you deserve a cold beer and a raise :)

Excellent work, no mess, Kevin answer a my questions about the cause of my old garbage disposal leak. He was on time and installed my new disposal in a timely manner! Great job! I highly recommend!

DRF was able to complete a next day install at a reasonable price. The guys that came to complete it were courteous, efficient and explained the functions of the new water heater well. The customer service throughout was exceptional, from intake to install.
