Rich is a super guy. Courteous, friendly, and unselfish. The work he did for me on the breaker box could have easily been inflated to be a full breaker box addition coming at a high cost. Rich suggested an alternative way to add an additional circuit that I needed. He did it safely and more cost effectively than installing a new box. It was his suggestion that he shared openly. I had no idea there were alternatives. It is rare to find a service person who treats you like a brother. Most would find a way to get as much $ out of my pocket, and into theirs as possible. Rick is different. A difference I respect, and one that I will remember the next time I need an Electrician.

I am rather upset due to the fact that he arrived at 1:30 and left at 2:16 charging me for the full 2hours of my voucher.

A++++++++ If I could give him a 6 out of 5 in these reviews I would. The whole scope of the project changed when Rich recommended that we try to anchor the new lights/fan to the studs underneath the beams I wanted to put these on. Of course they were hollow - something I didn't do my homework on and didn't realize that I needed to find something more substantial to put the new lights/fan on. When we opened up the beam we found electical wiring already there but the old homeowners never bothered to put these into place with lights. What Rich did was he took apart all of the wood and trim in a very professional way as not to damage it, had the tools to cut holes in the wood to put the new fans in and made sure they were anchored correctly so they wouldn't fall. A lot of electricians I've worked with in the past would have stopped when came time to do any of this but not Rich. So as we were doing that - my wife asked if we could put a new outlet on the other side of our fireplace - something I hadn't originally asked him to do. Remember I'm new to this house so I know where nothing is or how things were configured. He was able to cut a hole in the outside wall that tied into the existing box on the inside and put in a new outlet. He recommended that we swap out the existing outlets since they weren't up to code with GFI outlets - he did that with both the new and old ones. As he was doing that he called me up from my office and said hey we have an issue here you need to see. The old owners didn't open up part of the wall where the other light on the other side of my fireplace should have been and completely walled it all off. Rich recommended that I open it up so it wasn't a fire hazard and that would allow me to put another similar light like on the other side of my fireplace giving me more light on my porch. So the whole project changed as the day went on and Rich was able to adapt and do a fantastic job completing everything. I have needed a trustworthy, dependable electrician for awhile and he's the one we're to use going forward. With a new house he's going to have loyal customers for awhile. Also there was a review with a D earlier - disregard that - I don't know how anyone in their right mind could give Rich anything less than an A. There was obviously something wrong with that reviewer. If you're looking for a reliable, trustworthy, great electrician - Rich is your guy!

Everything was done perfectly!!...

Rich was awesome !! He determined the light fixture problem and since it would have involved going into the tight-spaced attic to replace wires and fish walls from attic to add new hall outlet, we decided to have that done next year when we plan a full bath remodel. He replaced the outlet in our living room no problem and cleaned everything up. We were very pleased with his honesty and the work we had him complete. Highly recommend CPE and felt having Rich in our home was a good decision as he is very personable and a great electrician. Very good communication, Rich immediately emailed me back to schedule our appointment as soon as I had contacted hom.

Excellent, he responded immediately, quoted us a great price to hang the three lights. We have 19 foot ceilings and he brought the schalping and put down tarps to protect our wood floors. He was very punctual and did an overall terrific job. I just recommended him to a friend and will use him again!

Rich came to my house exactly as we scheduled. I have a 16 high ceiling so he had to build a scaffold first then disassembled it after he finished the job, all professionally done within 2 and half hrs, much faster than I thought it would be. At the end, he cleaned the floor also helped us moved the sofa and rug to the original places, then walked thought all the good features of our new ceiling fan, plus a few tips for energy saving. We paid him with cash but neither him or us can break a $20 bill, so we asked him to take it and keep the change because he is very helpful and kind, he returned the $20 to us, nice guy and I definitely will recommend him to all my friends for all the electric jobs.

Great attitude. Rich ran into a problem with a GFCI. It didn't present itself immediately and with some solid diagnostics finally traced it back to the GFCI. I would hire him again.

Rich arrived 15 min ahead of time and took care of everything professionally. He was very fast too,, unfortunately for me. I could have been probably better off to call him directly and not buying the deal. I enjoyed working with him. Definitely somebody I could recommend and will contact in the future. Bought a coupon through AL for 2 hrs for electrical labor for $89. The deal did not go well. Called AL n talked to Troy who cancelled my coupon n refunded my money. He found me a different deal with a local(I live in PLAINFIELD) electrician. $100 for $150 toward electrical services. Called Custom Power Electric. Talked to Rich, the owner. Told him what I needed, this was a Tuesday, and he agreed to come out that Friday to give an estimate. He arrived on time and proceeded to grab a ladder to look inside my garage ceiling to see how much work to had to do. He must have been there 15-20 mins. Gave me a $300 quote for 2 outlets. I said fine and agreed for work to be done the following Friday. Great guy. Did a great job me. Been wanting this done for years. I would diffenatly have Rich back to do more work.

It was a very nice treat to be able to find someone to finish the work in my house with as little hassle as possible. Rich responded to my messages in a timely matter and provided an outstanding service. I would recommend to friends and family and would use him in the future.

Excellent. Rich was a pleasure to work with. He arrived on time and his estimate -- which was based solely on telephone conversations and some photographs we sent him via smartphone -- was right on target. He also found time to correctly install a new light fixture for a bathroom and answer a handful of questions about switch-controlled outlets and cable television wiring.

Rich was punctual first off (down to the minute). He laid out exactly how he was going to perform the job. If anything came up he immediately addressed the situation before taking any steps. The job was completed quick and clean, efficiently and professionally! He's very helpful and a very nice guy. I will certainly contact him again for other jobs.

Rich, of Custom Power Electric, responded to my initial service request through Angie's List in a timely manner. I contacted Rich via the phone number he provided, and we discussed the problems I needed him to address. I felt immediately comfortable with Rich after our discussion. At his request, I sent him photos of my electrical panel to ensure he would be prepared with the proper parts. We then set the appointment date, and time. On the day of the appointment, Rich texted me to notify me that he was en route. Within 30 minutes of the call, Rich was at my door. Rich quickly diagnosed and resolved the problem that I have had for many years. Since this was completed so quickly, I asked Rich to install an additional outlet in my basement, and to verify that other recently installed outlets were properly installed. Rich was happy to do this, and had completed all of my requests within the allotted time. I will definitely hire Rich for any future electrical issues or installations, and I highly recommend him.

Scheduling was relatively simple and the electrician was very professional. My only problem was that I didn’t know the costs after they went over the time allotted in the deal. I didn’t save any money because I had other expenses. He went over time because he couldn’t determine what the problem was and he never came up with a diagnosis for the ceiling fan that he was looking at.

Purchased the Angie's List deal for $150.00. A lot of electrical connector boxes needed to be repaired and updated. I received and e-mail almost immediately from Custom Power Electric. I contacted them and I explained what was needed. The appointment date and time were agreed upon. On the date of service they showed up on time and ready to get the job done. This was for 2 hours of electrical work and not knowing what to expect I was afraid it would take much longer. Not only was the work need explained in clear language, but it was done in a neat and clean manner. There were some parts needed to complete the work and I gladly paid what I believe to be a good price. The "job" was completed in the allotted time. I will be keeping this company in my quick check file and would recommend them anytime. Thanks for the great job.

He did a great job of getting to the issue that a few others had not been able to fix. Very nice and willing to do other things that were not previously discussed. He should be your electrician.

Perfect wife and I could not be more pleased with his work, planning and response. Keeps you very well in the loop, welcomes your input and needs, calls and shows up on time. Cleans up when done, this is a company owner/worker that really loves what he does and has a very good understanding of what a good reputation is and means. Plan on using him on future projects. Note: the 800.00 price included materials, his labor was very reasonable for the time he was here.
