Our website requests go to 3 different employee emails to help us in tracking estimate requests and to make sure we don't miss anything. We have searched all 3 email destinations and have not found any request from [members name]. Perhaps we missed it on our end. If so, we apologize. A simple follow up phone call from [members name] to ensure the information was received on our end could have been one strategy instead of being so eager to get a negative review out there.

The crew did a very good job. They were extremely professional. The crew did high quality work, was on time, and cleaned up well at the end of the job. Chris was great to work with through the entire process.

Rick, the owner was very good and responsive. I believe his business customer service driven approach trickles down to his employees. He was very responsive to all our concerns, and responded quickly. His carpenters were thorough and neat, but the boards used were not high quality I thought, and had a lot of blemishes. Painters Chris and his daughter arrived early each day and applied a great paint job on our aluminum siding (spray). They also rolled and brushed two other colors on the trim, gutters, downspouts, shutters, garage door and front door, matching the old color as requested. The painting was excellent and they used great paint that covered very well.

Castle Painting arrived early which really impressed me. They did an excellent job of painting my existing shutters and garage door. They were hard working and kept busy the entire time they were at my house. I am MORE than pleased with the job that they did. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. I plan on having them out in the future to do interior painting.

We can't say enough good things about Castle Painters. They started the job when they said they would & came on time every day. They did an excellent job of prepping our house including replacing woodpecker damaged siding boards, sanding, priming and stripping our wooden garage door before restaining. They power washed the whole house paying special attention to spots with mold. The painting itself was meticulous and they even protected all the plantings at the foundation. Chris Nuzzo - the sales rep. - also supervised the entire job and was on site everyday. We will certainly hire them again when the need arises. Our house looks better than it did when it was brand new.

I think given their experience, they could have take a little more time to create a more accurate bid. The result were good but nearly three time the original quote. Carpentry was a little sloppy some siding boards not well aligned. The caulking could have been better, some knots open. They did use the best quality materials and cleaned up thier work well. They did a good over all job, just more expensive than expected. Seemed rushed toward the last stages

The crew were on time and polite. They provided paint, drop cloths, and all of the supplies. There were blinds to remove and heavy furniture to move, none of which bothered them. They repaired a few spots on the walls and then painted. The rooms look great--no brush marks or any issues. Rick Campbell mainly dealt with me via e-mail, and was efficient. They stuck to their estimate of costs, which included a "winter discount" and a discount for Angie's List users. I am very satisfied.

I had Castle Painting paint my home's exterior about 3 years ago and I was very impressed with their workmanship and cost. I was told I would need to do touch-up work every couple years and called to get an estimate. Rick Campbell & I went around the house and noted what needed to be done and was presented with a proposal on July 23rd which I thought was reasonable. I responded two days later with a voice mail that we accepted the proposal. When I had not heard from Rick by the 31st, I sent an email reiterating that we would like to have the work done. The next day August 1st, Rick responded, indicating that he was out of town and would put us on the schedule. On the 28th, I had not heard from Rick and sent another email asking whether we were on the schedule yet. On September 6th, I received a response indicating that he was scheduling a preliminary window repair (rotted frame) and patio door sill plate (also rotted) but still no date. The carpenter called to alert us that he would be out the 14th. The repairs were done well though not primed but I expected the painting to be done within days. Wrong again. Having not heard from Rick by the 26th I sent another email asking whether I was on the schedule yet. Rick replied on the 1st "Might be later this week. Next week for sure." I sent back another email asking that he let me know when they were coming so I could be present as the window needed to be left open during paint and to dry for several hours. He did respond the next day to indicate that the painter would be out that day to do some preliminary painting on the chimney flashing. That was the last I heard from Rick until the painters showed up unannounced on Thursday the 10th to do the painting. I also had a Landscaper out that day to do aeration and overseeding - fortunately they finished in the AM before Castle showed up. The painting seemed to go well though my wife remarked to me that the painter working on the back door area seemed more interested in his phone than in painting. I received the invoice in the mail for the work on the 12th. While the proposal had been hand scrawled, the Invoice was professionally prepared. I was struck by the differences in proposals I had from my landscaper and Castle. The proposal from the landscaper was as professional - computer generated and specific as Castle's was not. The big issue however was that the items listed on the proposal did not match those on the invoice. Omitted from the invoice were: touch up 2nd floor windows, and paint back door. Going around the house, I was unable to determine whether the windows had been touched, found the back door was definitely not painted and a small spot that was not caulked or painted where the sill plate below the door was replaced. I also found an additional charge of $80 that I did not recognize. I called and left a message for Rick indicating the discrepancies and requesting a walk around to discuss. Rick called back promptly but seemed to be more annoyed than concerned with my issues. After discussing the unknown charge, I realized that this was an additional repair that the carpenter pointed out when he was here and I had agreed to - with the time interval I had forgotten. I told Rick I wanted the invoice to match the proposal as they claim a 3 year warranty, he said that the touch up work was not covered but agreed to have the painter come back out. Two painters came out the 16th to finish the work even though it was a cold and wet day. They painted the patio door and did the other touch up. There appeared to be very little prep i.,e. scraping and sanding so I a little concerned with the lasting quality but am just happy to have it done. The main painter apologized for not doing the work before, he said Rick had not told him to do the additional work. As I mentioned before they did the work indicated on the invoice abut not on the proposal. am not pleased with the lack of communication and length of time to complete - July through October - and would not call Castle again ? unless it was a warranty issue.

Response from Castle Painting
I could have done a better job communicating here with regards to the schedule-no excuse on my part. When I looked at the proposal and the fact that the customer explained that he wasn't sure some of the work was done(back door and some touch-ups) I immediately sent my painter back over there to do the back door and double check the 'touch-up' work. Touch-up work had been done, back door was missed and taken care of. Again, this is on me as I am pretty sure I did not instruct him to do it. As far as invoicing not matching the proposal, there is no conspiracy here. Our warranty information is taken off of our contract proposals, not invoices. Customer would not have known this, however this has never come up before. While painting 200 or so homes a year for 21 years, we normally will receive only 1 or 2 warranty calls per year. Additionally, we have never refused any type of warranty work. Some work we have done even after the warranty has expired.

Rick did a comprehensive job of providing us a bid that would include all of our needs and a very reasonable price. Our cedar home wasn't painted for over 15 years, so we needed a lot of work done to bring it back to life, which included not only paint and wood replacement, but adding new fiberglass gables to the peaks of our home to replace the rotted wood ones. Dave, the carpenter, was great to work with and very skilled in all of the repairs he made. He also measured and installed the new gables and new fiberglass railing, which looked terrific. Mark lead the paint crew of Rob, Gregg and Antonio, and he made sure every detail we asked for was taken care of meticulously and efficiently. Mark went over an above to make sure our needs and concerns were met without any hesitation. The crew left the area every evening neat and clean too, which was very much appreciated. Even after they finished, we found a few caulking concerns, and Mark was more than happy to send back one of his team to address them and have the areas painted. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and Rick was very lucky to have such a dedicated team of professionals to help him make Castle live up the good reputation we had expected.

Castle Painting is the one to choose! Not only were they the normaly on time, professional, did a great job, but Chris went way above and beyond what I expected. We had a closet door that didn?t close right and he took a piece of the baseboard home with him and shorten it so the right door closed. Then as he was leaving for the day, he saw the left side wasn?t closing either, and took the door down, removed the slot on the floor it fit into ?or was supposed to fit into? and re-engineered it. So now both doors close without any problems! He also fixed some broken trim we had. They caulked the baseboards, fixed all the ?bumps? in the wall, cleaned up every night before they went home, moved all of our heavy furniture? You are crazy not to go with Castle Painting! Price was right in line with the other estimates and we got more done!
Description of Work: Prepped the walls, caulked the baseboards, for living rm, dining rm, powder room, 2 wall ways and ceilings, stairs. Put 3 coats of paint on wood baseboards and trim. Put 2 coats of paint on all walls. Also fixed broken trim, and front hallway closet.

I was very impressed by Rick when he came out to give me an estimate. He noticed some rotting problems on two corner boards -- including some that the estimator from another company had not missed. Castle's carpenter did an excellent job in removing and replacing the wood. This was not a big job for him and, when I hadn't heard back from him regarding a date for the work to be done, I ended up contacting him. Weather also caused some delays but overall I am pleased with the way things turned out.

We received the original quote from Castle Painting 5/22/13. We were originally told they could start work in 5-6 weeks but the work was not started until late August. It was a wet summer early on which pushed back the date but I had to call Rick Campbell a few times to make sure we were not forgotten. With all of that, we were pleased with the final work they did. Once the ball got rolling things were completed in a timely manner. From the power washing to the carpenter to the paint crew they worked hard and were completely professional.

When we decided to get the house painted we got several names from Angie's List. After receiving several estimates we decided to go with Castle Painting. We met with General Manager Chris Nuzzo who gave us a detailed outline of the work to be done. His crew started on September 11th and finished in a timely manner. His workers were extremely efficient and very conscientious about cleaning up at the end of each day and at the end of the project. They color matched the exact colors we wanted and the carpentry on the repairs was perfectly done. Working with Chris was very enjoyable because he was very good at being available for questions and answered phone calls quickly. Another wonderful aspect of working with Castle was that we didn't have to pay any money until the job was completed to our satisfaction. That's confidence in their work!

I have a puppy and anyone who has had one knows that you need to work very hard to make safe zones for them to have access to. My backyard used to be one until the careless Castle Painting crew created a safety hazard on my property.I called their toll- free number and left word that their crew had left an unsafe mess in my yard. After receiving no call back, I spent over an hour of back breaking bending over to clean up the unsafe debris they littered my home with. After I was done, someone finally showed up and offered the most lame apology ever. If that is the type of "professionals" they hire, I will never let them set foot on my property as they are a liability.

Response from Castle Painting
One of our crews power washed a customer's home next to Mr. (member name removed)'s home at approximately 2:30 pm on Sat 9/21/13. Sometimes this results in paint chips that are dispersed in the area around a home and are normally contained in the immediate area. As the paint chips are wet at this time it is sometimes easier to clean these up on our customer's property the next work day when they are dry and easier to sweep/rake up. Apparently some of these chips made it into part of Mr. (member name removed)'s yard. The crew was not aware of this. We received a call at 4:13:54 pm on Sat 9/21/13 (time stamped from our service that same day) from Mr (member name removed) that there were paint chips is his yard and that he had a puppy and he was extremely upset and concerned. As I had another crew in the area that was just finishing their day, I immediately called one of my men to get right over there. This call took place at 4:18 pm on the same day. As I was attending my daughter's soccer game(tied) I did not call Mr (member name removed). I then received a call back from my painter at 4:30 pm that he knocked on Mr (member name removed)'s door, apologized to him and offered to clean up the areas in question. Mr (member name removed) communicated to him that he was not happy but that he had already cleaned up the areas. Mr (member name removed) is not and has not been a customer of ours. Had he been I would have communicated to him early on that although we strive for perfection and professionalism in all that we do, sometimes some things are overlooked or can go wrong. We do ask our customers to give us a reasonable opportunity to correct the situation. With less than 20 minutes to respond to Mr. (member name removed) late on a Saturday afternoon I think we handled the situation pretty well. As for the apology from my painter, I can not attest to whether it was lame or not. We do sincerely apologize for getting chips is his yard, however. Castle LOVES puppies too!!

The actual work only took 2.5 days, but was spread out over 3 weeks due to manpower and scheduling issues on Castle?s part. They are in high demand, probably due to their high quality of work.
Description of Work: Castle performed small carpentry by replacing rotten wood, washed the wood that was to be painted, primed the new wood and finally painted everything. There was a fair amount of wood that needed to be replaced, but was all replaced in half a day with great craftsmanship.

So far it is looking great. The gentleman who is doing the work also had some excellent ideas on fixing other problems. Like his ideas and will implement them. Scheduling outside work has been problematic due to all the rainy days we have had. They have really tried to get to us when they can but weather has set them back by weeks. The fact that they are still trying to get our smaller job done in between catching up and weather, is a credit to their company.
