He was good. The deck stairs had rotted wood, the post was wiggly and the steps were deemed dangerous by the inspector. I called them, they showed up right away. He rebuilt the stairs on both sides. He's outstanding. He's a contractor and he does all types of repairs. I thought his price was a little high but on the other hand, he worked on it for 7 hours. He came out and gave a quote. Originally, he thought it would be $359 because he thought he just had to replace 3 steps and a couple of posts but after he pulled the steps off he saw that the supports underneath had rotted too. He ended up doing a lot more work. From beginning to end, he worked on it for 7 hours, completed it all in one day. I ended up paying $600 but the job ended up being twice as much as what he originally quoted. I expected him to charge me $500 or $550 so $600 seemed a little high. On the other hand, he did an excellent job. The steps are beautiful. I'm just waiting for the wood to dry out so I can paint it and they are good to go. Kind of a big job I think. He worked on if for 7 hours and finished it in one day. The cost was a little high.
