We got estimates from Amenity and two other moving companies that are well rated on Angie's List. I picked Amenity because they were the smallest company and seemed to be the most personable to deal with. Their estimate was also the lowest of the three, by a significant amount. Amenity's actual charges were slightly below the estimate, so their original estimate was an honest estimate, not a low ball.. We had a four bedroom house in Naperville with a lot of lawn and garden equipment in the garage, as well as a lot of family goods that were stored in the basement. They sent three packers to pack our goods, which took about 1 and a half days. Amenity arrived as scheduled at 8:30 am on the move out day, and completed loading the truck with 4 men by about 6 pm. The truck, which was a big one, was loaded to capacity. We then moved into the new house four days later. Amenity arrived with 5 men about 8 am and finished just before 4 pm. The packers and movers were friendly and did everything we asked them to. We had no significant issues with damage to any of our goods other than a few minor dings that we could fix. I had a couple of unusual things to move. I had a treadmill in the basement, that was too big to move up the stairs. That I had disassembled by a fitness equipment company, and Amenity moved it. The fitness company then reassembled it. I also had a lawn tractor with a hydraulic drive, which had to be driven onto the truck. The tractor's controls can be tricky if you are not experienced with them. Other companies didn't know how to deal with the tractor. Amenity allowed me to drive it on the truck with only a small quantity of gas in the tank, and then we ran the gas out of it. Because flammables are not allowed on the truck. Overall we were satisfied with the move, and we would use Amenity again.

Excellent. We got estimation on time and everything was made crystal clear. Movers came exactly on time and started in a very planned way. They took care of home walls etc. like their own homes. There were absolutely no issues. They continuously worked for 5 hours and still very very calm and efficient. I was extremely impressed with their services from estimation to end. I will definitely request their services in future in case I need and will definitely recommend this company to all my family and friends.

They called the day before to confirm the appointment and they arrived on time to my house. They carefully wrapped all furniture before loading on the truck and were careful not to damage walls or stairs. There was no damage to home or furniture. Their price was exactly as quoted and they were quick and courteous. I tried to use them again when I moved into my new house but they were fully booked that day. I would recommend them highly.

They were very efficient and they did a good job. They were very good at what they did and I would use them again.

A very thorough job of packing was provided, though we pre packed a significant percent. Mark, Joe, Pat, and Santos were very hard working, fast, careful and professional in the load and unloading process. No time was wasted, and we were very pleased with nearly all aspects of their service. Also, everyone we met or talked to, was pleasant and helpful. Amenity kept our stress level to a controllable level, and we would use them again, though we hope this our last move EVER! In any case we would recommend them highly.

Amazing. Team of 5 guys showed up on-time for a brutally cold January move and immediately went to work. Took several hours to pack the house up, which filled an entire full size moving truck. They were careful with everything and didn't damage a thing. After we took off, they were willing to make a side-stop and pick up an office desk I had bought off Craigslist. Once we arrived at the new house, they only took half an hour for lunch, which I give them credit for because it was an exhausting morning for them. Next several hours they unloaded to the new house, assembled all the beds and the desk I bought, and put everything where it should of with no damage. A 9 hour job well done. These guys were professional, efficient, and I would hire again in a heartbeat. Sandy, the coordinator, was also great who initially came out for the quote. She's extremly knowledgable, professional, responsive, and knows exactly the amount and sizes of all boxes you will need. Their company has a great box buy/sell-back program. Hire these people - you won't be sorry.

I called Sandy for an estimate and Mike called me back immediately. The price was more than fair. He was able to schedule a pick up of the mirror and transport it within a few days. His crew moved this 300 pound mirror up two flights of stairs, being very careful so as not to disturb anything in the house; using moving blankets to protect everything, including the stair railings. I really did not think it could be done! The mirror is 8 feet tall and 5 feet wide and is covered in fragile baroque plaster ornamentation. They didn't damage single piece! They also removed the mirror from the crate and then took crate out of my home. I am beyond pleased with this company and will DEFINITELY use them again! VERY friendly people, very professional and they REALLY know what they are doing! Thank you so much!

Incredible team of movers!!! On time, very considerate, very careful!! I cannot say enough about these guys. They work very hard and pay close attention to detail. They read the labels on the boxes and place things in the precise location. We will definitely hire this crew again when we do our final move after the sale of our house!!! Very professional, organized, detail prganized group of guys! True professionals!

Sandy and her team at Amenity Moving and Storage made the moving process as stress-free as possible. They were incredibly easy to work with and did great work. They were on time, very diligent in all the packing, careful with all of our belongings throughout the process, and we could not have been happier. We have not always had good luck with movers in the past, but would not hesitate working with Amenity again or recommending them to others who are looking for trustworthy and reliable movers in the Chicago area. They even came in under the budget they had quoted us (which we were certainly happy with as well).

It went very well! We were assigned a team of 4 movers, all of whom moved efficiently and with great care. There was no damage to any of our belongings, and the move was completed in 3 hours (moving items out, driving, and moving items in!) - it was fantastic! We would definitely hire them again.

Great movers, highly recommended. Picked them as part of my list of 4 movers to get quotes from based on Angie's List. They were price-wise on lower end, but based on services and equipment seemed best fit to move consolidated two households into one house. Were accommodating to come out to give quote in the evening. Very friendly and professional. Explained all parts of the quote. Gave advice on how to cut down time (what to move on our own when we mentioned we will move some stuff via car, how to organize things for movers, etc.), which really means they gave advice on how they will make less money. Went with them, but asked to only have 3 instead of 4 movers (to save money and because we were going to help out). Again they were accommodating. Showed up on time. Worked efficiently and well. Even took apart an old desk to get it into the office when it wouldn't fit otherwise and we were already resigned to having to find a different spot for it. Best part, came in significantly under budget (6.25 hours @ 3movers vs 9 hours @ 4 movers) since the budget is a conservative-this-is-what-it'll-cost with a lot less work on our end. Definitely give them a call to get a quote when moving.

Hired a 3 man crew, They showed up on time and started working, all 3 men were kind and took very good care of my belongings. Took a little longer then expected but it was my fault had many items that were in open topped boxes that required them to carry out by hand instead of on a dolly. They added a 4th man the last hour at the new house to help speed up the unload process. All beds were assembled in all the rooms were they were to go! and all furniture made it to the rooms I wanted them in. Would hire them again if I was to move again! Thanks for making moving day to my new house a less stressful experience.

Loved, Loved, Loved working with this company. They were very friendly and very professional to work with. They were prompt, curtious, and very careful with our household items. We would DEFINITELY use this company again in the future and feel very blessed to have found them for this move!

Amenity came out and gave us an estimate for the move to our new house. The estimate was reasonable and there were no hidden charges. They moved us on the date we requested and in a very professional manner. The men were respectful of my house and my furniture. It could not have gone better.

The crew did an excellent job. Never took a break. Worked hard at carefully moving items up from basement. Took time to safely load and secure items in POD. I will use again when the items need to emptied from POD.

I contacted Amenity Movers several weeks prior to my scheduled move date. Sandy came out within the week and evaluated my home and supplied me with a written estimate of the move. On 3/15/13, Sandy and two of her colleagues came out and packed up the entire home. They were very professional and treated all of my items as though they were made of glass. This process took most of the day. The following day, three movers came out at the scheduled time and moved all of my items to the new house. This took about 7 hours. Overall, I was very impressed with Amenity Movers. I would definitely work with them again. All members of the team were very courteous and professional.

We needed a very heavy refrigerator moved quickly. Not only were they professional and courteous on the phone but they were able to come and perform the work immediately. The fridge was about 500 pounds and they moved it with ease! They used blankets to protect my wood floors and put the refrigerator in place without any problems. Very pleasant and friendly! I called for an estimate to have three rather large pices of furniture moved across state lines. Due to the fact that it was an interstate move it was going to be a bit pricey. Sandy made several suggestions in order to help save money. Thank you, Sandy!

The movers arrived on time at my home. They paid attention to moving all things w./care and efficiency. At my new home they did the same thing. They were very professional.

It was a great experience, one of the best moves we’ve had. Nothing was broken and they were very careful.

They came on time. Were hard workers. And got everything out on the truck in a timely manner. They got to the new place and were very careful bringing things in. Nothing has ever been damaged in the 3 times I've used them. They put my daughters bed where she wanted it. (She did changed her mind a couple of times!) They were SO helpful and kind. My sister has used them twice and I have used them three times!! LOVE this company!!!

The whole experience was positive and I would recommend these movers. Sandy gave me an estimate over the phone and was easy to work with and helpful in making suggestions, etc. She suggested 4 men and a full semi and offered that our giant playset could be moved in the same trip for no additional fee (other than the time factor). I spoke with her husband Mike, as well, to confirm that the dimensions of the playset would work with the truck they were sending, etc. I asked Sandy about wardrobe boxes, told her I thought we'd need 4 and she said she'd send them on the truck, free of charge. Truck arrived promptly on moving day, but only 3 men instead of 4. It didn't really bother me, but it I was a little concerned that we only discussed the rate for 4 men and not 3, and I was worried about the cost reflecting the crew that was present. They brought 5 wardrobe boxes, which was nice, telling me that people generally underestimate what they need. Loading went smoothly. Movers were literally running up the stairs to grab furniture, etc. which was nice to see when you are paying hourly for a service. I expected more of the furniture to be wrapped with blankets, etc. We likely could have asked and it would have been handled, but it was a busy day and we let it roll. I would say they were 85-90% careful, there was a little carelessness near the end, and things were left at house #1 that we had to move ourselves later. It wasn't a real big deal, but I think they kind of 'rushed' to close up the truck. At house #2 we (homeowners and movers) were a little dismayed that the truck could not make it down the long driveway. It is curvy and has large pillars on the street that would make it impossible for truck to get into. Movers were disappointed but handled it in stride, walking most everything down the driveway, using dollies for heavy items and even getting creative and putting a king-size mattress on one of their hatchback cars to transport from truck to front door. We had a friend on 'felt pad' duty at the front door making sure there were fresh felt feet on the furniture so as not to destroy hard wood floors. Movers were about 70% cooperative with this exercise. They were in a rush to put things down. Less resetting of furniture than I expected. They did break down and set up the two beds we had them move, which was appreciated. When I asked for certain pieces to be placed against a certain wall for set up, they acted like I asked them for their left arms - I let it go, and will deal with it on my own. There was a little resistance on the delivery of the play set, too - as it was a bit complicated in getting it into the backyard. At one point one mover told me "I don't know how you're going to get that back there" - in a tone that made it sound like it was my issue to deal with, kind of irritating. But given that we weren't donating the massive structure to their families, there was no other option, so with my husband's urging they figured out a solution. I'm glad we had extra men around to help with the swingset. They had it on two dollies with literally 8 men pushing it and still struggling. Not sure what they would have done if the other men weren't around to help. I'm fairly sure 3 men couldn't have done that. Pricing was very competitive, no upcharge for Saturday and better than their competition. They did reduce the rate for the fourth mover not being there, there was no discussion or negotiation of it, but I thought it seemed fair. They did add a $30 charge for the swingset that was not previously discussed, but again, they did a good job so I wasn't going to fuss over the $30. Highly recommend!

Very nice, good-to-work-with Couple runs this moving business. Their head mover/worker ( Mark?? ) & son were super - a GREAT team, HONEST, careful, considerate; they had other teams workers accompany them (different on both days) and the jobs were done on time. We had many boxes already packaged for them ( they complimented us on a good job) which in return made their job easier & cost us a bit less. Only a couple of small incidents - one chair material torn, minor scratches on a few things but nothing that we can't live with. One thing is our furniture was a bit dirty when it arrived the next day off the truck and don't know what caused this but all in all, a very, very good moving experience with this company. Highly recommend them !

If you are moving in or around (or to/from) the Chicago Area, you have to use Amenity Moving and Storage, Inc. Mike and his team were AWESOME to work with and I would highly recommend their services. They are priced right and did a superb job
