Their delivery people were very poor customer representitives for the company. We contacted Shermans, they sent someone up to set the chair feet on properly, and provide something to hold the tops (glass) to the base, and ordered the "missing" glass top parts. Result, two visits to our home, one to fix the chair legs, and add something to keep thee glass tops from falling off the bases, once to install the proper "missing" top mounting "pegs" to secure the table tops at each base corner. The lady that sold us the $7000 + $350. extra sectional, two dining room chairs was nice, but the blue pillow covers we recieved was a darker shade of blue than we were shown in the Peru showroom. The circle pattern pillows were right as shown. My wife is of the opinion that the delivery men just did not want to do what they were supposed to that day after driving up from Peoria in the fog, they wanted to get to the next delivery. Arrogant? She guessed so. The experience stressed my wife and I, but was resolved with Brother-in-law help, and Shermans proper follow-up. - tr
Description of Work: We ordered a England sectional, corner piece, recliner, 1 armless piece, 1 lounge. one Chair and a half, one easy chair, a set f 3 glass top tables, (2 end tables, one coffee table), one TV stand we took home ourself in our Jeep Grand Cherokee. The glass top tables and two chairs were delivered the day prior to Thanksgiving. The glass top tables and chairs were delivered, but, the glass tops were not secured to the bases. They did not install the parts that should have been provided on the tables. The glass was loose, on the bases. (1) The delivery people (2) said they were not able to get the corner piece of the sectional through the garage door into the kitchen, and living area. The corner piece was not unwrapped, but was still in the plastic wrapping. Same claim for the front door. They said the corner piece was too big, that they could try, but "would not be responsible for damage" if we asked them to try it. Talked to wife, we decided to have them leave the sectional parts in the garage until we could decide what else to do, send it all back, and get another sectional or couch. They left. We talked with brother-in-law, who is a Police Chief in a nearby town. The next evening, Thanksgiving, he and a friend cameup from Peoria in the rain, and took the wrapping off the corner piece, got it through the garage door into the kitchen, 2 men, then got the other pieces into the house, without any damage or other issues, they took the door off the hinges, the same as Sherman's delivery poeple. Our sectional was nicely in the house like it should have been the day before. We decided we needed another armless piece, ordered it, picked it uip in our Jeep at Peru, took it home, and my wife and I got it through the door from the garage, just us two without doing anything with the garage/kitchen door. Another $350.00 for extra sectional part. We were told the 2 men who delivered were "in-training" but they had NO Trainer with them. The feet on the two chairs were also not properly installed. The two dining tables were fine as delivered.
