Steam Green Carpet Cleaning

The crew showed up on time & got to work immediately. They were very thorough and friendly. I have used Steam Green in the past and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone.

They came down and got the job done and I was happy. They came in and took about an hour and a half and did a good job.

I called Steam Green after seeing an ad that stated they were "Angie's List Super Service Award" winners for 2011. Before calling, I had measured the square footage of my areas. Although I had only 3 rooms, plus stairs and hallway, it counted as 7 areas total. That is because the Master Bedroom and Living Room were each over 300 square feet (both were between 300 and 400 sq. ft.). It was clearly stated in the ad that areas over 300 square feet, L shaped, combined, or divided will count as two areas. So they counted it as Master bedroom, 2 living room, 2 bedroom, stairs, and hallway which was $204.00. Andy and Shane were pleasant, professional, and efficient. After cleaning the carpets, they asked me if I wanted to add the stain protector for an additional $60 which I agreed to do, making the total bill $264. I also asked them to give me a quote for steam cleaning the tile and grout. It worked out to be $1 per square foot, so $327 for 327 square feet. However, he told me that over $300, they give a $50 discount, so $277 total. I have not made a decision yet about proceeding with this job. My carpets were not very soiled, but they did look better after the cleaning. I was satisfied with the job and I would use them again.

They did supburb job with cleaning my carpets. They were very knowledgable, timely and their cleaners are not chemical based and left a nice scent in my home. I would highly recommend them and hire them again. I didn' have any complaints at all.

I had a large house which was on the market and being shown nearly weekly for almost a year. I had beige carpeting through much of the house and the carpets needed to be pristine. I have a dog and a cat, and had to have the carpets cleaned frequently. The last time I used Steam Green was right before the last open house - I dog sat for a friend whose husband was having surgery. The dog DID NOT acclimate well to my house and had accident after accident. The foyer smelled like dog urine. I called Steam Green and the owner was able to clean all the carpets on very short notice. Prior to that, I had the ChemDry clean some carpet in my house (I had a gift card) and their cleaning method left large white film spots over large sections of the carpet? Steam Green knew exactly what to do - and misted the carpet with a spray that made the white spots go away and didn't charge me for it. I had another local carpet cleaner, Harris Carpet Cleaning spot clean my carpet a few months earlier (from a networking group I belonged to) and their machine actually tore up the carpet fibers in the areas they spot cleaned. I really appreciated the Steam Green owner's knowledge of the different cleaning products and his dedication to using safe products on my house. He and I share a dedication to BioKleen BacOut, (which is the next great household miracle at getting out carpet spots ? in fact, buy this and you won't have to have your carpet cleaned nearly as often).I highly recommend Steam Green for their dedication to green cleaning methods, as well as their work ethic, pricing (less than Stanley Steemer) and the quality of their cleaning. Plus you can usually find a coupon offer. I have not found any of the 'dry, encapsulation' methods to live up to their sales pitch. Steam cleaning is still a great way to go -- and Steam Green is the best I've found.

They did a good job. They were prompt and courteous.

Initially, I called and set up the service with Cody. I called the day they were to come and he said that they were about an hour out. I met them at my home. I pushed the only chair that I did not want cleaned, into the foyer. The guys that came to clean were very nice. I explained to them why I needed them because my carpet was not dirty. My baby had spilt part of his bottle of mile on the carpet in a 2 foot by 2 foot area. I told them I wanted it cleaned really well and to remove the smell. I have already patted it up and diluted it with water when it happened. I also had some medication on our ottoman that had spilt our of my diaper bag. You could not see it but it could be felt as the medicine had dried and it was a little sticky. This was in a small corner of the ottoman. I was there during the cleaning. The guys said they could take care of everything and not to worry. I asked them if they could place my 8x10 rug outside to dry. They said that it would be almost dry when they were finished so they would place it downstairs while the upstairs carpet dried. I had to go to my daughters school so I left. When I returned about 2 hours later, I opened the door and there was a horrible smell. It was the smell of spoiled milk. Then, I went downstairs and I was going to move the rug upstairs...it was lying over my couch and was really wet- so wet that it made the couch wet and a portion of the carpet it was lying on. I felt the top of t rug and I could clearly see it was not thoroughly cleaned. I called Cody immediately. He responded that typically they can get out odors but he would come by and "redeordorize" the carpet with a special spray. It would be $15. As far as the rug needing recleaned as well as the ottoman, he would send them back over the next day. What ended up happening is, he sent the guys back to redo the rug and the ottoman and the area of milk odor on the carpet. This time, they agreed to place the big rug outside to dry. Cody came to my home and said that "Typically they can get out all odors and this was unusual." I asked him about the 8x10 rug and he stated that "Typically, Freesia rugs are difficult to clean" He left a bottle of deodorizer to use. As far as the medicine on the medicine on the ottoman, they recleaned it and it is still crunchy in that area.I had told Cody before he even arrived how upset I was about the odor and that my big rug was placed wet over a sofa and nice carpeting downstairs. He said that he wanted a good reputation and would fix anything they did not do well. He asked if that was what I directed them to do and I said I suggested We have 3 children all busy each evening so we don't sit in the living room regularly. The day after they had left, I knew that the medicine was still in the ottoman but I did not want to mess with calling him again. I went into the living room about 5 days later and sat on the couch. The couch has a large coffee table in front of it that sets out about 2 feet. I looked down and saw ripples in the carpet, not just one but several. It looked to me like the carpet had been oversaturated and rippled- then dried that way. I called Cody and was going to leave him a message for the next day. He answered the phone, I explained what I saw. Once again, he said "Typically this happens when carpet is loose. We see this happen to people when they need their carpet stretched. When customers call about this, we tell them to have the carpet stretched...it is nothing we did." I told Cody that our carpet was not in need of stretching, it only was rippled in front of the couch...he then said "Typically it happens in a high traffic area. I said " Cody, you have an excuse for everything, my carpet got oversaturated." He said he would send someone to stretch my carpet. I told him that I would call someone to do that for me. He said- have a good day and hung up on me. Right before he hung up on me, he said," I will just refund your money if you are so unhappy." I had no chance to say anything else- he said Have a Good Day and hung up... and then he called back and said, " I am not refunding your money! You signed the waiver and you were happy when I left." I replied that I was nice to him when he left because I trusted all was going to be better since it was redone. He said that I had moved my furniture around and that caused the ripples! I also need to mention that the waiver he was talking about was signed by me. However, there are boxes above where you sign that are to be filled out by the people cleaning. They are to mark the box if there are ripples already on the carpet as well as anything else they notice that they don't want to be held accountable for. I DID NOT move my furniture. I moved one chair that was no where near the couch. He would not listen to me and said "GO HUSSLE SOME ONE ELSE- I HAVE DEALT WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I WILL NEVER CLEAN FOR YOU AGAIN!" . As if Iwould have someone who calls me names come into my home again? I am so appalled that this is what he considered good service. I did not want to fight with him. How did I hussle him? I DIDN'T- he got his money- I even had agreed to pay to have my carpet "redeodorized for $15 more dollars the first time I called! There is never a reason for a business to call a customer ugly names EVER. I would have paid him just t be nice to me if that was an option.

Scheduling was easy. They were very understanding when I needed to reschedule. They provide a small window of time to expect them...and they arrive within that time :) Very professional & thorough!

This was the first time I have used Steam Green & they were punctual, professional, fast & friendly. I was extremely happy with their professionalism and would use them again

My carpet is white and they have gotten it cleaner than any of the other people I have had. They are very nice, very polite and everything. They are the best I have found for my carpets. The price is comparable to everybody else.

I had previously used Steam Green to clean the carpets in my new home (see my other report). I was so impressed with his work I decided to have him clean the carpets in my old house, prior to renting it out. The carpets were REALLY dirty so I was skeptical if cleaning would do any good. I'm happy to say that Kodie and his crew of 1 showed up on schedule and knocked out the rooms in record time. I was amazed at the results. I seriously thought I was going to have to replace the carpet. I thought the price would be $99 but when he showed up he told me about his 3 for $93 sale he had going on. A really great deal. From now on, for carpet cleaning needs, I will only use Steam Green.

Normally it is $89 but he said that since we didn't have a hallway, he would only charge $85. They were very thorough and very good. They were very quick and were not here for more than half an hour. They got spots out that a previous cleaner hadn't gotten out 3 years ago. We would certainly use them again.

The experience was great. They were professional and very informative. The products were non-offensive and eco friendly. We were happy that they removed a lot of pre-existing stains from prior to our moving to this house. They removed the stains caused due to our dog. They are really outstanding. We would use them again, and recommend them over and over again. They worked a good deal with us.

I called Kodie on Monday to inquire about having the carpet cleaned in our newly purchased house. He mentioned a 3 room special and additional price for hallways. Original quote was for $125. We arranged a 4pm appointment for the next day. He arrived around 4:30pm which was no issue because I was there doing other things that need to be done when you buy a new home. He had also called me a little after 4pm to let me know he was on the way. After looking around and seeing how large the house really was, I added an additional bathroom to the job and deodorizing of the master suite (bedroom, dressing room and bathroom) and another half bathroom. The final estimate was $200 and he started on it immediately. Kodie slapped on his ear buds for tunes and went to town. He pretreated the carpeting and even used some magic carpet cleaner on a few spots. He got all the stains out of the carpet except for one spot in the master bath, which we had believe to be excrement stains, and Kodie was pretty sure it was actually blood. The stain did not come out completely but i was amazed how much better it did look. The rest of the house looked great, and passed the "wife test". She was under the impression you couldn't get a good carpet cleaning for under $300. We had previously used Chem-Dry in one of our rental houses, and they did not do nearly as good a job as Kodie. He worked dilengtly for a good hour and half. I got tired just watching him. :-) When the job was done, he used his iPhone to take my credit card information and email me a copy of the bill. Being a tech guy myself, that was very impressive. He was very professional and very personable. I highly recommend him and will probably use him for my current house as the carpets need cleaning to prep for renters.

I contacted Steam Green Carpet Cleaning based on the positive reviews I read on Angie's List. I was arranging a whole house carpet cleaning for my mother's residence (she had recently passed away and I was preparing to put the home on the market for sale). I was coming in from another state for just a few days to finish cleaning out the house and preparing it, so emphasized the importance of the appointment time within my compressed schedule. Kody was very helpful and professional when I explained the situation to him. Further, I warned him ahead of time that my mother had been a heavy smoker, so there was significant smoke smell and stain in the carpets. The crew arrived right on time (which I appreciated), assessed the situation and got started. There was a problem with equipment on the first truck, so there was a delay while they switched out for a new truck. A circuit breaker was tripped by their cleaning machine, and they offered to go buy a replacement fuse Given the delay from switching out the truck, I didn't want the rest of their appointments to be backed up, so they gave me a slight discount to offset the cost of the replacement fuse. The only disappointment was that the living room carpet (off-white color), which was admittedly in rough shape from the smoking, did not turn out quite as well as I had hoped, and the cleaning caused the carpet to swell a bit. I do think that the guys did probably about as good a job as could have been expected. I would recommend Steam Green to anyone in the Central Illinois area looking for a trustworthy, conscientious carpet cleaning company. I would like to have given the overall experience an "A", but for the equipment issue, inconvenience of the blown fuse, and the living room carpet result. However, I'd probably chalk it up to more of a bad morning than anything other customers would expect on a regular basis.

Called Steam Green on Saturday. Kodie was able to schedule an appointment for the following Tuesday between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. He called at 1:00 pm saying they would be here at 1:15 pm. Kodie and his helper looked at the areas to be cleaned and Kodie gave us the cost. They got right to work and did an excellent job of cleaning everything. They moved furniture and protected the legs when placing on the wet rug. It was a nice day so we were able to run the ceiling fans and open the doors to dry the carpets. They were not overly wet and we could walk on them. They were only slightly damp in the evening and totally dry the next morning when we got up. They did an excellent job and were nice to work with. We will definitely call them the next time we need to clean our carpets and if we ever need to clean our upolstery.

They arrived on time, took a quick tour of the spots and set up. The cleaning went quickly and only lasted 45 min. Even though they weren't there long, it looks like we put in new carpet! They were even able to get the stains left by the previous owner as well as the grass cat throw-up stains (if you have pets you know how hard those are to clean). Will definitely call them again!

We used them one time in April. Our house was occupied by renters and they unplugged our sump pump so there was water in the basement. The carpet needed to be ripped off. I think they were very nice. It was an emergency situation so we could not compare the price. They were very professional.

Closing and moving in to new house, and wanted to get carpet done while house empty right after closing, and before movers showed up with the furntiture and boxes! Emailed then called called Kodie at Steam Green on a Friday, and he was able to fit me in to scheduled the following Monday right after we closed on house! Based on his performance once on job, inquired about possibly doing tile also in house, he provided quote on the spot for cleaning and sealing the grout, and I went ahead and approved and he did the additional work the same evening after doing the carpets. Very professional, great knowledge, very hard working and stuck with job until completed - and ran late with work added! All floors looked great when done, and will certainly use Steam Green again - and recommend to others!

Everything went perfectly from our first call to the day the work was completed. Kodie and his assistant arrived 5 minutes early. Kodie explained the complete cleaning process...was very professional and knowledgeable. He gave us useful tips for keeping our carpets clean. They protected our wood and tile floors and the corners of our walls. After previously using the "well-known" carpet cleaning company and being very disappointed with the results, we are so glad to find Steam Green....we hope you will give them a try.

In the last month, I've had my carpet cleaned three times. The first was from my dog having an accident. The second because of stains that showed up immediately after the first cleaning (but in other areas) and finally, I dog-sat for a friend, and the dog wasn't house trained (evidently). I tried low-moisture cleaners, but I am going back to STEAM GREEN -- and staying. Better to dry my carpet than to have carpet that wasn't really clean, was torn up or that had spots! I had used Kodie before - but decided to try two low-moistures cleaners! The first one was very expensive (they charge by the foot) and after the carpet dried it ended up with yellow spots. Kodie knew just how to treat these to make them go away, and he went over these spots and they look great now! The second time I used a low-moisture cleaner was a cleaner that had a mobile machine with three 'brillo-like disks.' They just did some 'spot' cleaning for me. These disks tore up my carpet!! it looked like someone had run a mixmaster over the carpet. It tore up the fibers, totally changed the appearance, and I could tell exactly where they had cleaned. I thought perhaps they'd go away after I vacuumed - so such luck. So when I dog sat, and the dog peed on the carpet multiple times, there was no way I wanted to call the low-moisture carpet cleaners. I called Kodie with SteamGreen. He was able to get all the carpet totally clean. He fit me in the next day! He was less expensive than the first cleaner, plus he also showed me where there was still soap in the carpet from the second methods. (where it would have attracted dirt), and he got out the brown spots from the first cleaner. I thought that I wanted less moisture, but now I see that it is just like washing your hair with 'dry shampoo.' You know that your hair isn't really clean - for that it takes moisture and you need to get deep into the carpet. I just turned on my whole-house fan, put the fan in the furnace on "ON" - and set up a few fans. The carpet will be dry tomorrow, but even better than that. It will really be clean. And Cleaned with SAFE products that I don't have to worry about my cat or dog laying on or walking on, then cleaning their paws! Because the products Kodie and STEAM GREEN uses are safe and non-harmful.

I am glad I found him on Angies List. He will answer any qustion you have. I am going to call him this spring. The cleaner that he used was not overpowering. A nice clean smell.

They did a great job and got all the stains out. They were really professional and thorough. They offered some helpful tips about how to maintain the carpeting. I wasn?t here at the time they were here but my husband was - I don?t know how punctual they were. They were recommended on Angie?s List. I would use them again in the future if necessary.
