Our deck that they built collapsed in 2000. All of the contractors who came our with their insurance adjusters agreed that it was poorly built, and far below the standard. They also said that the way that the deck was attached the home was substandard. According to the builder the deck was supposed to be able to support our hot tub. They installed a heating system. The company that installed the original system said that they don't even sell the unit that was in our home on their floor because it is so low of quality. We chose linoleum for the kitchen, half bath, and utility room. We decided to upgrade to ceramic tile a few years ago. When they picked up the old flooring we found that they had laid the flooring over the heating vent in the bathroom. We kept having problem with flooding. We found out that there was a broken part on the sump they installed. That was very shortly after we moved in. We have a cathedral ceiling in the master bedroom. My husbands closest is at the peak of the ceiling. They didn't top it and we discovered that dust and bugs had accumulated in that area. Several of the light fixtures that they installed were tilted and had to be remounted. They didn't insulate our upstairs bathroom appropriately. It constantly freezes in the winter and last year we had flood due to pipes freezing in there. They found that there was NO insulation on the exterior bathroom wall that faces east. The bathroom is cantilevered out and there is a garden tub. When I clean if I use excess water the water actually drips out of the house and on to the deck. They installed the cheapest windows possible. Some of them never even operated correctly. They didn't properly grate the lawn. Due to this problem they had to have stairs coming down from the back of our house. They didn't install a drainpipe under our driveway, every other house in our neighborhood has this pipe. We are at the lowest point in the neighborhood and have constant drainage problems. We most recently found a crack in the basement foundation. It shows that they had tried to patch it. A contractor we recently spoke to believe this foundation problem is occurring due to the poor grating that they did on our lawn. This is a huge problem and it is terrible because insurance does not cover the faulty construction. In addition to that, because of all of the damage we have had our insurance rates have sky rocketed. I have called them several times throughout the years with problems. They have provided little to no support.
