I called to finalize an earlier estimate. Eric said they were very busy but could only fit me in the following week at 11:00; I said ok, I would work from home. He showed up at 10:30 on the appointment day without any courtesy call of an early arrival. My daughter answered the door and told him I was on a work call from 10:30 - 11. At 11:00, I came out and he was gone. I called him and he said he left because he had another appointment at 11:15 but could maybe come back at 2. I said I wasn't available at 2 since I scheduled my day around an 11:00 appointment. He very rudely and sarcastically responded "oh riiiight, you scheduled your whole day around meeting with me at 11. You know people are usually more appreciative when I show up early". I said "actually I did, I worked at home and scheduled calls and meetings around your "only" available time. I said I'm not understanding the sarcastic tone when its 11, I'm here and you're not. Can you please return now since it is the time you scheduled?" He replied, "How was I suppose to know that you would have other things to do today? Good luck getting your fence done" and then hung-up on me. I wish I had time to wish him good luck in running a business with such an arrogant and misogynistic attitude towards his customers, walking away from significant jobs and future recommendations. I've never gone out of my way to write a review for any service before but wanted to make sure residents of Park Ridge or anywhere else steer clear of this one.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate to have fence installed. They never showed or called. I took a day off of work to be home for the estimate. I called a few hours later and left message asking what happened. Never received a call back.

It went very well. Eric was knowledgeable and had good recommendations for our needs. The fence was installed very quickly and done exactly as promissed. The fence looks beautiful, it is amazing how well they worked around those huge arborvitae. Project came in budget and in the time promissed. We are very happy with the fence and get compliments on it often.

Said he would arrive between 9 and 10am - arrive at 9:58 - I had an appointment at 10:30 so this gave us little time to discuss the fence project. When I called ta 9:55 to ask if he needed to reschedule, he was rude on the phone and sounded as if I had insulted him by asking if he was planning to keep the appointment or if we needed to reschedule. When he did arrive, he went directly out to look at the fence which has a vine growing on it. He was very put off that there was a vine on the fence. He said what do you want to do with the vine? I said well, since its attached to the fence, it will probably have to leave with what is being torn out. He said fine but I'm going to charge you extra for it (with plenty of attitude behind it). When he did give me the bid, it was moderately higher than other companies and he seemed extremely irritated that he had to give an estimate. He made sure to include $150 for the extra work that was required to remove the broken fence with the vine attached to it. He mentioned it and I said, I really don't see how there's much of a choice - its attached to the fence. He said well yes, you could remove it yourself. I thought why would I do that when the fence is being torn out? Once he gave me the bid he mentioned that they do not pull permits. They ask the homeowner to do that. Upon leaving he asked when I would be ready to start the work - I said when I finish taking bids. He said - when is that - I said not sure but I can tell you that I'm not going to use your company. He said why? I said because all of the other companies pull the permits and that's included in their price. Why would I pay the same and have to do the leg work of both taking out the vine (or paying extra) and pulling the permit? I'm very busy and its hard to get all of that done. He said YA - we are too and stormed out of the door.
