Nino responded to my call quickly. He came out on time for the estimate and was very informative. He is very nice and thorough in explaining what would be done. We have chosen Nino to do the tile work in our home.

The quality of work is excellent. They took great care to lay out and install the tile in the best way; it felt like they were showing the same amount of care that they would in their own home. Only criticism is that they seemed to have some scheduling trouble that week and couldn't predict when they'd arrive, but I would give them the benefit of the doubt on that.

Project went extremely well. Nino arrived on time each day, and was very workmanlike in his approach. He kept the space very neat and always cleaned up after himself. (We wanted to replace the bathroom floor only because the wall tile and vanity were fairly new. The floor was the main issue). Nino was able to make it appear as if we had just completely renovated the entire bathroom. His work is outstanding. In fact, he gave us some ideas for our master bathroom, and we plan to hire him again. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Nino placed ceramic tile in our small guest bathroom, size 5 X 5. Tile was placed over an existing floor. Project took two days to complete. One day for the tile and the second day for the grouting.

Tony arrived on time to assess the work. He is very knowledgeable and honest and gave good advice about options for repairs. He was extremely pleasant and easy to work with. His work is extremely high quality and everything looks fantastic.
Description of Work: Repaired marble tile that had fallen out of tub. Re-grouted parts and re-caulked two bathrooms (marble tile walls and ceramic/plastic tubs). Re-grouted and caulked granite in kitchen where granite pieces had split apart creating a gap. Re-grouted marble tile on fireplace to repair grout that had fallen out and loose tiles.

Nino was very easy to work with. We exchanged a phone call, and he came out to give us an estimate the next day. Within a week we had an estimate, and he began working shortly after that. The job took him less than three days. Since the job was in our entryway, we had no way to avoid walking in that area. Nino worked with us and made sure that we had a 'walkway' to our bedroom and bathroom throughout those three days. I have had numerous guests to my home since having the tile installed and everyone has been amazed with his work. His experience shows.
Description of Work: Nino installed slate tile in our foyer area; about 150 square feet. We live in an old loft building with concrete floors. He started by placing a "membrane" on top of the concrete to avoid any cracking of the tile. The 12x12 slate tiles were placed on top of the membrane. We have a curved wall that had to be dealt with, and his cuts were amazing. They are so precise and beautiful that I don't even need to add shoe molding to my baseboards.

Great experience. Nino was quick and responsive in scheduling the work. They basically finished the work in a weekend, despite some minor unforeseen difficulties related to the epoxy-based grout. I had purchased grout from Bisazza with the tile, but had not told Nino that he would be working with epoxy-based grout. Finishing the tile took twice as long as they had expected, but I actually wouldn't have noticed because they had worked so diligently to finish the job before the weekend was done. Nino was apologetic about having to charge a little more because of the extra labor involved, but I had no problem with it because they only took one lunch break the whole weekend and blew through dinner the last day to complete. The installation looks as good as any commercial mosaic tile installation I've seen.
Description of Work: Nino prepped and installed Bisazza glass mosaic tile on my kitchen back splash and a facing wall.

Note that clear glass tile is different from ceramic tile and is harder to work with. Some adept do-it-yourselfers who rent or invest in some tools can do a good job installing ceramic tile, but glass tile should not be installed by most do-it-yourselfers, because it requires some specific tools and skills and experience. The price is accordingly a bit higher for glass tile work. Things went very well. Two installers, one of whom was Nino's son, did the job in two visits, about six hours of labor total. They were very reliable and efficient, showing up when expected and staying on schedule. We could not have been more pleased with the results, and would use Nino's again and recommend them to a friend.
Description of Work: Nino's installed and grouted in about 25 square feet of one-inch clear *glass* tile as a backsplash and decorative element in our kitchen, on a wall that had previously only been painted. Project cost did not include tile, only labor and other supplies like mastic; we provided the tile and grout and cleared the counters and removed switch covers for them, and did some cleanup.

I can't say enough good things about Nino and his two sons. Nino came the same day I called him to give me an estimate, and was ready to get to work as soon as I could get the tile delivered. He and his sons arrived right when they said they would on the first day, and didn't leave until they were done laying the tile (almost 8:00!). All three were friendly, funny, and professional. Most importantly, the floor looks great and the price was very reasonable compared with the other estimates we got. They clearly take great pride in their work, and I'd recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: They laid ceramic tile in our basement family room over a cement floor. They had to grind sections down and do some patching beforehand. The area had been covered with Pergo previously (which had gotten wet and we had pulled up).

Left a message for Nino on Saturday describing the job. He returned the call on Wednesday and stopped by Wednesday afternoon for an estimate. Gave him the go ahead and he was able to send his sons out on Thursday to do the job. Overall very happy.
Description of Work: Removed old tile and drywall in shower where grout had failed and water seeped behind the tile. Installed new cement backer board and reinstalled and re-grouted the tile and re-grouted other areas in shower where grout was cracking. Was able to remove and re-install the tile without cracking it, as we had no replacement tile.

We are completely delighted with our tiling work. We used Nino's company last year for our laundry room and they did a great job. We knew we would use them for any future projects, so I just gave them a call. Nino came out the same day, called us with an estimate the next day and began work within a day or two of that. Nino also really helped us as the plumber (not from Angie's list) had made an error with the bath tub installation, it wasn't straight. Nino told us what we needed to do. Then he skilfully worked his magic around it. The tiling fits around the tub perfectly. The job took 4 days on and off as things have to dry/set in between tasks. Nino is very motivated and hard working and is also very skilled at his profession. He works thoroughly from the minute he arrives. The tiling is superb and the intricate border pattern has been placed perfectly . He completely cleans up after the job is finished, down to removing debris and washing the floor.
Description of Work: Nino tiled the floor and tub-area in our guest bathroom. He set floor tile on a concrete floor. For the tub-area he placed backer board, taped and seamed, then applied a special product for waterproof protection called membrane and then tiled the walls including a pattern border. We supplied our own backer board, tiles & grout.

Nino was immediately available for the job, and came over the same afternoon he was called. He did a good job of caulking, and a fair job of re-grouting the tile. He left two patches of rough, unfinished grout which has hardened on the ceramic tiles. On the way out of the house, he left a very conspicuous trail of grout across our brick walk extending from our front door to where he was parked in the driveway. We left a message on his answering machine (His message begins: "You have reached THE BEST"). No response. Several days later we called him again and reached him and described the mess on our walk; he said he was "very busy," but would try to come over to clean the walk as "as soon as he could." A month has passed, most of the grout on the walk has finally washed away with the rain and snow, but a little remains. I believe that even Michaelangelo cleaned the floor of the Sistine Chapel when he was finished with his work. I would have expected as much from Nino.

Nino created a work of art for us! We had received 10 Portugese tiles for a wedding present. They were beautiful, but they were of varying sizes and widths. Also, we needed far more than 10 tiles to cover the space behind our kitchen sink. I sent Nino an e-mail describing our job. He responded in under 24 hours, arrived the next day to give us an estimate, and completed the job the following day! He found the perfect tile to highlight the Portugese tiles, laid out the project on our kitchen floor for our approval, and proceeded to transform our kitchen. What an artist! Nino is also a pleasure to meet and a professional of the first order. His family has been laying tile for several generations.

Nino's is the best! Nino and his sons worked on my vintage bathroom, removing old tile and re-tiling with subway tiles. Nino offered good suggestions and was flexible coordinating schedule times with the plumber. He and his sons, Tony and Vito, are professional and just so easy to work with. Tony even patched a large, unsightly hole left by the electrician. I am delighted with the results and am going to have them tile the backsplash in my kitchen in a few weeks. A big thumbs up for Nino's!

Nino showed up the same day he was called for a quote. Having met with 2 other perspective companies, I could tell that Nino was a true tradesman. In this case we were using natural slate instead of ceramic so I was looking for someone knowledgeable with this material. Nino carefully measured the area, told me how much material I needed and called me that night with a quote. Honestly, his price was on the higher end of what I was hoping to pay. However, if you believe that you get what you pay for you will be happy to pay a little more as the work was flawless. Nino started the project the next business day by preparing the surface with a skim coat prior to setting the floor. His sons then came the following couple of days to finish the work. They were equally qualified and pleasant to work with. When the project wrapped they cleaned up the area very well in addition to giving me any and all care tips I needed. These guys take pride in their work and it shows.

Nino is a consummate perfectionist and an expert tiler. He did a beautiful job installing our backsplash and the repairs we needed in our shower. He works on his time but felt secure having him in our home while we were at work. If another tiling project came up I would call him first. I have already passed on his name to a friend & neighbor in the kitchen designing business. He's terrific!

Nino and his two sons who do all the tile work showed up as promised on Monday morning at 10:30 am. They were very concerned all my expectations of the job were met from the beginning. As the week progressed the floor really took shape. They worked a later shift from about 10:30 am to 6:00 pm or even 7:00 pm on days needed. The job was completed with excellent quality, and the two sons: Tony and Vito left the site pleased with the job they did. They take pride in their workmanship and the jobs they do show it.
Description of Work: I contracted Nino's Tile and Marble to install ceramic tile flooring (which I purchased) in my kitchen, laundry, and half bath. This included several closets and entry ways. I removed all the appliances and base moldings for a clean straight lay. Nino prepared a mortar base over my existing linoleum floor. The project was approximately 465 square feet and lasted 5 days to completion. Nino and his two sons which do all the tile work started as promised by notching any trim that remained around the entry ways to allow for a clean lay up to the walls. They prepared the floor and mortar base on the first day, laid tile the next three days and grouted on the last day.

Nino was able to come out the same day I called for an estimate and they were able to start work the next day. The price was very reasonable based on our other estimates and the work was wonderful. They did a great job and were able to finish in the time they had estimated even though there was more work than originally planned, they stuck to the original cost estimate as well, even though all of the shower walls were replaced instead of a 4X4 area. I would definitely hire this company again.

Work was done by two exceptionally polite and neat brothers Tony and his younger brother Vito. When I called they were right between two big remodel jobs so I lucked out in having them come the next day to redo my shower. I have a really old bathroom and could not afford a complete remodel but just putting new tile in the shower and along the baseboard changed the bathroom from night to day. I plan to have Tony come out later to professionally clean the vintage floor tiles. The only unusual thing was that nothing was in writing, but then I never asked for anything and Tony came within his verbal estimate.
Description of Work: Tiled old shower. Removed an old plastic shower surround from the tub, installed quarter inch cement board over exisitng green board, covered the wall from tub to ceiling with white subway tile. Removed plastic baseboard molding along the floor and installed ceramic tile baseboard molding. Completed by 6:30 pm the second day.

It looks stunning! We had a week setback when the bottom box of tile was broken - they were very adaptable and accommodating with their schedule when it did come in. Tony seems to be the most meticulous (which is said in a good way), and laid out the pattern first and played with it until it was right. A lot of cutting and polishing of end pieces was done. He unexpectedly had to rebuild the hearth when the old brick started to crumble and did a very nice job without increasing the fee. All 3 were very open to explaining what they were doing and answering any questions. The price was considerably higher than any other tile setter quotes we received, but comparable to a mason quote. Because of the shape of the stone, there was a lot of waste - maybe a little too much, but I think allowed for the final outcome to be so beautiful. They are casual on time - just when you start to think they won't show, either the telephone or the doorbell rings!

Nino's Tile & Marble are a small family firm and I found the father (Nino) and 2 sons all very polite and helpful. They came out to give me the quote the day after calling and did the work a few days later. I was delighted with the quality of the work. They did a great job and were very professional. The two sons who did the actual work were very helpful, polite and extra informative. We discussed a plan for messy glue residue that would be left after removing the vinyl tile. I did not want strong chemicals used so they laid a wire and cement floor above the glue. This new floor surface allowed them to lay the new tiles completely flat and stable. I had researched this on the web prior to them coming. It quotes that ''removing vinyl glue residue is the job from hell''! Hard work and back-breaking - true and I know as I tried it with one tile. It also states that the wire & cement floor is the only job that should be done by a professional as it has to be completely.

I've got better things to do with my time than to submit cost requests to subcontractors that can't be counted on.
Description of Work: I contacted Nino via email & asked if he was interested in quoting a job. He responded in a day or two stating that he was interested, asking me to call him. Upon calling Nino, he was very polite. I explained the job & what it entailed. He asked if I would like to meet him & I said sure, at which point he said he'd rather not come to the job site because all of the walls were not up. 80% of the walls were up, but I placated him. I'd fax him a drawing. I attempted to fax it, but got his voice mail. Evidently he shares his regular phone w/his fax, so the fax isn't always accessible. I emailed the drawing & followed up with a phone call. He called back the next day telling me I should fax the drawing since he was at the office. I did so, thereby providing him with 2 copies of the drawing. That was the last I heard from him. I emailed him a few days ago asking about the quote & have yet to hear from him. Its been just about a week since our initial contact & he has ignored me.
