I call this provider name Tony, who says he could give quote over phone for pouch cover job. He did not seem to want my business by never calling me back with a quote. So I give them a callback when no one answered hint was well taken. Bad potential customer service.

Nino and his brother were great to work with. We started a do it your self tile repair project and quickly found we were in over out head. Upon pulling up some existing tile, we found soaked dry wall and wood that was exposed to water. Nino was able to come out same day to give us an assessment and quote. He and his brother came first thing Monday morning to shore up the sill with a waterproof membrane. They also cleaned the mess i'd made and installed a handful of tiles where needed. In addition, we were working on a tight timeline (because we only had ony bathroom and were showering at family's houses); Nino found a piece of granite, and once the color was approved by my wife, Nino cut and installed the granite sill top for us. It looks great and honestly so much better than we were expecting and way better than we could have done ourselves. I recommend Nino and only wish we had more bathroom projects so we could work with Nino again.
Description of Work: Sealed our bathroom sill, which was collecting water and rotting out below the existing tile He found, cut (on-site) and installed a granite sill top Laid tile around sill and between tub and tile wall Caulked every joint in the bathtub area

It was a lot of fun to watch them work. They even gave me pointers about some of the other work I was doing. They came back the next day and even fixed the grout for free. The job was phenomenal.

They did a fantastic job. It took a few weeks, but that's only because they're complete perfectionists. Super professional and nice guys. Would definitely work with them again.

We hired Nino's Tile for three projects: kitchen backsplash, porcelain tiled foyer, and a marble countertop for a butler's pantry. Their work was excellent. The kitchen backsplash was done in subway tile, and Vito and Tony completed this project in a couple of days. The porcelain tiled foyer was a much more intensive project as it was a black and white diagonal pattern. In addition, I had ordered 24"x24" tiles, which were way too large. So, Tony and Vito had to cut them down to a 12"x12" dimension with fantastic results. In addition, our floors were not level, but Tony and Vito did their absolute best to make them more even. They definitely did the absolute best job they could have, given the circumstances. Finally, they fabricated an eased-edge Calcutta marble countertop for my butler's pantry and installed it. I hired Nino's Tile because of their excellent Angie's List reviews, and also because I know that Tony and Vito were trained by their dad in their craft and are excellent craftsmen who take their work seriously. Tony promised a perfect job, and I believe that is what they delivered. My kitchen backsplash, black and white foyer, and marble top are all gorgeous. My only complaint with working with them is that I often had a difficult time getting a response from Tony to confirm scheduling of various stages of our project. However, they did show up when promised in the end, so despite the lack of efficient communication, the job was done as promised, and I appreciate their excellent work in my home every single day.

Tony called me back within 24 hours after I'd called for an estimate and suggested he come a day he would have time to do the work if I was o.k. with the price. They arrived on time and were very neat and worked hard to do the job right, giving the tile and grout the extra cleaning it needed and deciding to come back to silicone seal in the morning to be sure things dried properly.
Description of Work: 3-4 loose , popped-up tiles were replaced in the bathroom in order to ready the house to be put on the market. And the shower stall tile was cleaned, regrouted in areas and sealed with silicon to prevent leakage.

I emailed Nino's Tile & Marble, Inc via Angie's List "Contact The Provider" link. Heard nothing. I called and/or emailed one of the son's, left a message. No response. Called son again, same or different son, don't remember which son, but he did answer. Very polite. Told him what I was looking for, "clean, polish, seal travertine & marble" He said his Dad (Nino) handled that portion of business. He said he and his brother do installations and/or repairs. I called the Dad, Nino, and he promptly answered. Nino was very polite and professional over the phone. An appointment was made for the next day. The next day arrived, Nino called said he'd be a little bit late past scheduled appointment. He was a little bit past scheduled time, but not a problem. He came and looked at what I wanted to have done. I wanted bathrooms with travertine and marble cleaned, sealed, and a shower with some grout correction. Also, kitchen buffet cleaned and sealed. While Nino was there he was polite and professional. He said he'd call me with a quote. He left to leave, but then knocked at my condo door and said he didn't have small bills, he wanted to give our doorman $5.00 So I gave Nino the $5.00 I figured he was a nice man, he was polite, professional, and maybe he'd give me a $5.00 credit on the Proposal. A day past and no follow up by Nino. Days past and no call re pricing or work to be done. More-than a week past, I called Nino and he answered his phone. He said he'd call me later that day or the next day. He hasn't !!! Due to favorable Angieslist ratings re Nino's Tile & Marble, Inc. and Nino's politeness, etc. I thought to "call him" again. Then, I thought to look at F-rating reviews, which I had not done before. Before you call Nino's Tile & Marble Inc., take a look at the "F" reviews, click on "All Reviews", set categories to "All" and rating to "F", then read, plus re-read my review. Alot of my time & $5.00 has been wasted. I did not call AGAIN, instead I looked on Angieslist for a competitor to do the work I want done. Update ~ Nino did finally call me. I missed his call, but he left me a voicemail. Said he was interested in doing job, had a price for me, and could do job on Monday. Nice he called me 'once'. Haven't received a "follow up" call from him since. I had inquired "several" times with company. I'm still searching for a quality company to do some simple cleaning, sealing , and grout correction.

Tony warned that due to the amount of tile and the need to install the marble subway tile piece by piece, the project would take approximately a week per bathroom. HIs estimate was nearly spot-on but worth the time and effort. The tile and trim is beautifully set, and the showers and soap niches are well thought-out and finished. Tony was extremely professional, good at communicating what work had been done, what to expect next and also highly consultative before he made changes from what we had discussed or what was specified. In several instances, he caught issues that had not been addressed by the designer, e.g. placement of the faucet fixtures, etc. relative to the trim. Most people remark about the evident craftsmanship associated with the tiling when they see our renovated bathroom The only hiccups were that too much subway tile and too little of the marble trim was ordered (although I attribute that mistake to the Kohler designer who changed some of the measurements that Tony provided), which delayed completion of the project and resulted in a materials cost overrun. They also charged me $80 for the extra trip to finish the work after the remaining trim arrived, which they did not tell me in advance (but which I was also fine with paying).
Description of Work: Labor and materials for the following (both large format porcelain floor and carrera marble subway tile and trim installation): Main Bathroom: Install new cement board on the shower walls. Install a new underlayment on the bathroom floor. Create a 1’x2’ soap niche. Waterproof the soap niche. Tape all cement board joints. Install porcelain tile on the bathroom floor in a running bond pattern. Install 3x12 porcelain base tile. Install 3x6 marble tile on the shower walls and soap niche. Install 3x6 marble tile on the wainscot. Grout the tile installation. Seal the tile/grout. Basement Bathroom: Install a new shower step. Pre-pitch the shower floor. Install a new shower pan liner. Install new cement board on the shower walls. Lay a new mud set on the shower floor. Create a 1’x2’ soap niche. Waterproof the soap niche and shower step. Tape all cement board joints. Install 2x2 porcelain tile on the shower floor. Install porcelain tile on the bathroom floor in a running bond pattern. Install 3x12 porcelain base tile. Install 3x6 marble tile on the shower walls and soap niche. Install a marble step. Install 3x6 marble tile on the wainscot. Grout the tile installation. Seal the tile/grout

Tony came out to give us an estimate and advice on what kind of tiles to buy. We bought a few samples and sent pictures by email, he responded that they were fine, so once we'd purchased the tiles we booked them to come. At times there was a delay in hearing back from him by phone or email but he explained that they were busy finishing up some larger jobs, which I understand--I've found it's often hard to get contractors promptly on smaller jobs. Once we had the tiles and he called back they came within three days. He and his brother Vito came for two full days to do the two jobs. They were SO friendly to us, personable, and knowledgeable. It's a family business started by their father and their training shows--the craftmanship was excellent. I am very pleased with the results and highly recommend them.

Quality of the tile work was very good and Tony was punctual but I was disappointed in Tony's email responsiveness and workmanship in other areas. Tony was slow to respond to several emails and never responded (4 days now) to my final email asking him if I needed to seal the grout or if they had already done it. They also did a poor job cutting the bottom of my bathroom door (a very crooked cut with a recipricating saw) and it was still dragging on the tile when they left so I had to remove it and further sand the bottom myself. While they used tarps to protect the bedroom carpet there were several small carpet stains (looked like sweat) at the entrance to the bathroom (tarp apparently got moved). Finally, they cut the new sub-floor pieces inside the bathroom (not outside on my back porch) which created a lot of dust that settled all over the master bedroom. As I said, the tile work itself was high quality but the lack of responsiveness and other workmanship issues would likely prevent me from using them again.
Description of Work: Master bath ceramic tile floor was completely removed including sub-floor and replaced with new sub-floor and 12" square quartz tiles. Toilet and baseboard trim were removed and re-installed. Approx 40 sq ft total.

They do a fantastic job with tile. It took a little longer than planned but turned out amazing. The care and artistry is terrific. If you think you have a tile challenge, these are the guys you want to address it. They did a good job containing the debris and cleaning up. The only problem we had was a miscommunication on the trim work. I had thought they would take out all the trim and put in the new trim. They had thought they were removing and replacing the same shoe trim. As I said this room has curves and while they are artists with tile, they did not want to try to put in new curved wood work.
Description of Work: I gave them a challenge. Our entryway has a lot of curves. I found a nice dark green marble that I wanted to use for a 6" border and then sheets of 5cm hexagon tiles with varying amounts of green in them to fill it in.

Very professional family owned company. Quick response to an inquiry for a quote. He came to the house ready to do the work if he confirmed the problem was ungrouted tiles. Nino Sr. (father) comes out and actually checks the areas and preforms tests to see if the water leaks start when he sprays water on a wide variety of areas, i.e, base of tub, areas around the faucet, etc. He spent at least a half hour testing all of these areas, the number of areas involved were more extensive then I thought! His assessment was that the entire shower area needed to be regrouted...not just certain areas. He also determined the bottom outer edge of the tub needed to be resealed. He gave me a quote and of course because I didn't have any other quotes to compare it with, I kinda of thought it was a little high. He told me that because he was quite a distance from my home, he came ready to do the work. Frankly I was tired of the leaking and since I had already hired two plumbers who we thought had identified and fixed the problem, I decided to hire him. My gut was feeling was he would do a fabulous job, just based on the methodical way in which he went about testing to determine the problem. My guts were right. He promptly went to work, was very neat, and didn't take any breaks. The work is beautiful and the best part, theI leaking has stopped!!!! He really knew his stuff. Maybe I could have found someone cheaper, but I don't think I could have found someone better. He took great pride in finding a solution to the leaking and did great work. Worth every penny!

In 2006 after a flash flood in our neighborhood flooded everyone's basement, we had a general contractor rebuild a bathroom and create a granite shower enclosure. We quickly realized that the thin set that he used was not appropriate for a water room. We hired a second company to come in and restore the granite floor which was uneven and poorly pitched and to make the floor waterproof. Sadly this second installation proved to be as problematic as the first. We joined Angie's list to find a recommended stone mason and we were impressed with Nino from the start. He came on the weekend after we contacted him even though it was the day before Easter. He started on Tuesday the 11th and within the week he removed the old tile, repoured the pad, installed a membrane and retiled the floor with perfect pitch. He then caulked everything in the shower resealed all the granite in the bathroom and also the granite countertops in the kitchen. He cleaned after every visit and worked without any supervision and we are certain that the third time will be the charm. Nino is a craftsman who does exactly what he says he will do.
Description of Work: Nino came in and gave us a quote to replace our granite shower floor. He also quoted resealing the entire bathroom as well as the kitchen countertops. His quote was reasonable and we decided to move forward.

Vito and Tony were great. They quickly diagnosed our shower issue (the builder hadn't sealed the inside of our marble tile in the shower. Over the years the grout cracked and allowed water to access the inner wall). Both Tony and Vito worked on short notice to surgically remove the affected tiles, sealed and taped the inside wall, and resealed and regrouted the marble. It was a 2 day job, and their work was so good that you couldn't tell the new marble tile from the old. Almost a perfect match.

They did a fantastic job, were a pleasure to deal with and were very detail oriented. Our master bath was a major project and they managed to make the needed repairs without it being obvious. Also, spent a lot of time on the backsplash which looks beautiful. Our bathrooms look new again after the cleaning. Great guys to deal with!

It looked like the company did large, extensive tile work, so I wasn't sure they'd be interested in doing a small bathroom floor. I called this company. I found them via research on Angie's list. I have 18 year old marble floors in my home that needed refurbishing. A man answered the phone, listened to what I needed and said that his father oversaw refurbishing jobs and would I please contact him directly for an estimate. No problem. I called the father, we discussed the project and set up an appointment to do estimate the following Saturday morning. He was a no show.

Everything went very well and I am very thankful. Bravo guys - you are great!!!
Description of Work: Tony and Vito are artists with ceramic tile. They installed it in my kitchen, utility room, and master bath. They gave me a bid and when I accepted it, they were here in a few days. They started and worked right through until they finished the job which included even a Saturday. This happened just before Christmas so I was truly thankful that they were so prompt and were able to complete the job before the big day. The installation was difficult in that they had to jackhammer the old floor and hook into existing incomplete tile work in a connecting room. They were able to create a seamless connection between an uneven wood floor and a concrete floor. The joints match up with the existing floor and are straight and clean. The master bath has nice narrow grout joints and looks so beautiful! The sealing in the kitchen and utility room just added to their quality work and were hand polished. These professionals were a joy to have around. They were considerate of my property, they were considerate of me and they did things over and above what was expected. I can certainly recommend them and their work and I am going to have them install more tile for me in a few weeks.

First of all, I have to say that these guys are GREAT. What lead me to choose them for my installation was other reviews on Angie's list - every review I read was nothing short of satisfaction from their clients. The day I called their business, Tony came out that day to give me a rough estimate. I needed tile done ASAP, as I had already received a date for my cabinet installation. Tony was able to work around my timeline with ease, and plan his other jobs accordingly. On the first day, Tony and his brother Vito ripped up the underlayment of my old ceramic tile - which was done with concrete and wiring. It was a massive undertaking, in which they were able to complete in 1 day. They decided to use the same technique to install my new tile, as my old bathroom tile would not be level to the new flooring if not. In our hallway, we had a few loose planks on the wood floor underneath, in which they fixed by adding nails to secure the loose planks. This ensured my new tile would not come loose over time. They laid the new tile with the same technique - concrete and wiring. This took about 1 day to prep. Two more days later, I had new 16x16 travertine tile and baseboard. It came out absolutely stunning - every grout line is perfect. Every tile lines up and is level. My baseboard grout lines up perfectly with my floor tile. The lines are beautiful, the quality is perfect. These guys are perfectionists, and will treat your home as it is their own. After going through a home remodel, looking back I am happy I used these guys. I worked with a big box store on my cabinet installation, and it was not what I expected, (and I paid retail price). You do not get the same quality of service as you would with a smaller company. I am VERY happy with my new flooring and would recommend Tony & Vito to any of my friends or family that are in need of tile work.
Description of Work: Nino's Tile and Marble removed my old ceramic tile, and installed travertine tile and baseboards in the foyer / hallway and kitchen / eat in kitchen area of my home. They also sealed my new tile. It was a very difficult job due to the age of the home and the way the tile was installed originally.

Vito and Tony worked really well with us, they used drop cloths to protect our floors and didn't create any additional mess. They worked into the evening to get the job done and made sure I understood what they were doing and made sure I understood what the next steps were. The finished job was top-notch and professional looking. I am glad I brought them in to make our bathroom look awesome. Good local business with fair pricing, would highly recommend.

We were really impressed with the quality of the finished floor. Our job was probably a nightmare for the guys as the demo took way longer then we expected due to the poor quality of the existing floor. That being said, they worked hard, took their took their time laying the new floor, addressed a few problem areas to ensure a quality finished product (such as relaying sub floor where necessary). Once would think that because they were behind from the start due to the amount of time it took to rip out the floor, they'd rush to finish the job, but they didn't. They took their time and did the job right and th tiles look great. By pre-laying the pattern on the floor, the guys made sure the pattern flowed properly between rooms, corners, and around the island. If you want true artisans, hire these guys.

My overall experience - WONDERFUL! Tony, from Nino's Tile, is a consummate professional who takes pride and delight in pleasing his customers. I initially contacted Tony in mid-September of 2010. From our very first telephone conversation, I knew I wanted Nino?s Tile to install the tile on my kitchen backsplash. I had actually purchased the tile well over a year before contacting Tony. Throughout that year or so, I had received a few estimates from ?contractors? which my tile shop had on a list of recommendations. Those ?contractors? seemed a little ?iffy? in my estimation, and I was concerned that I would end up regretting my decision to use them. When I enrolled in Angie?s List and contacted Nino?s Tile, I felt an incredible sense of relief?I had finally found an actual contractor (not just some guy with a panel van and trowel)! Due to me living on the far side of Chicago, I provided Tony with a couple of pictures, the information I had regarding the size of the project, and the materials I had available. Tony provided me with an estimate via e-mail and the deal was done - we set up an appointment in October. Tony and his brother, Vito, came to my house, inspected the project area, and (without hesitation) Tony told me that he was sticking by his estimate?and then they proceeded with the work. Wow! Both Tony and his brother worked efficiently, respectfully, and quietly. To illustrate the high level of customer satisfaction that they aim to provide, as afternoon gave way to evening, Tony asked me if it was okay to continue the installation ? he wanted to make sure that they were not interfering with any plans I might have had. They ended up working until about 8 pm to complete the job, and what an extraordinary job it was. I highly recommend using Nino?s Tile. They are highly skilled professionals who take workmanship and customer satisfaction very seriously.
