It went extremely well! All electrical fixtures, wall and floor tiles, cabinets and fixtures were removed. They provided us with places to go to review and purchase the tiles and bath items (tub, sink, toilet) that were top of the line. The service and knowledge of these vendors was incredible. Neighborhood Remodelers picked up and items and delivered them to our house. The project manager, Abbey, was incredibly helpful, warm, funny and provided excellent suggestions and advice. Gabriel was an unbelieveable craftsman - neat, tidy, detailed and beautiful work. He is amazing and able to do everything, from tile laying, demolishion, electrical, carpentry, plumbing - what a gem! Prior to work, he contained the two rooms with floor to ceiling plastic, covering the light fixtures and protecting the floor with drop cloths and cardboard. He arrived on time and put in a very productive days work. The work plan was clear and well defined. I always knew where we were in the progress of the job, what needed to be done and what decisions I needed to make because Abbey provided me with two weekly updates - one with the progress and the other - what would be done the following week, in addtition to coming to the site in the event that I needed her assistance. I can't say enough good things about this company and their employees. I would consider them for any of my projects, without hesitation.

This job went beautifully despite a delay on getting the window due to the holidays which slowed down production of the window and hence the length of time it took to complete the job. From the very first contact NR were on top of EVERYTHING. They came out to do a preliminary estimate, then once the contract was signed came out with the project manager David and foreman Art and went over all the details, provided us with a binder to keep track of the work, gave us contacts for the tiles, fixtures and lighting, told us when we would have to have items selected and ordered, and gave a timeline for the work. They showed up on time, were respectful of our space and our time, communicated immediately and were an absolute joy to work with. The finished job is beautiful and every detail was taken care of.

Luke gave us a quote within days that was itemized and thorough. The process stayed true to the original estimate, with the only major deviations being for various upgrades as it went along. We asked them to expand the work to the nearby hallway, and they did that concurrently to the original project (for an added cost). The room was insulated. A radiator was installed on its own separate zoning system. Lighting, carpeting, closets, the works. They are clean. They are punctual. They even got ahead of schedule during it. We got other estimates before starting and theirs was right on with the others. So we got a fair price, flexibility, punctuality, responsiveness (whenever we had questions or concerns they would respond within hours), cleanliness, and a group that is SUPER ORGANIZED. This company is as professional as you can hope for. Would definitely hire again - we have plenty of work to do and I doubt we'll find anyone better for these kinds of major projects.

Neighborhood Remodelers were a pleasure to work with. We would work them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to others. We completely remodeled a bathroom with them, and the project included moving plumbing and electrical lines. In our kitchen, we replaced countertops, installed a backsplash, replaced the kitchen sink and faucet, installed undercabinet lighting and replaced light fixtures. The project finished four months ago and we've had no issues at all. Everything looks better than we imagined. Neighhorhood Remodelers makes remodeling as painless as possible. We requested multiple bids, and theirs was in the middle of the pack but also the most thorough. We ended up on time and on budget. The only change order we had was at our request, when we requested that they help us with a side project that we had been struggling with on our own. Communication was excellent throughout the process, and our crew could not have been more pleasant. We've remodeled a few times with different contractors, and the experience with Neighborhood Remodelers was our best experience by far!

We remodeled our master bath and dressing room, which included replacing an 84” vanity and sink, updating tub/shower, installing new tub and toilet, installing new tile flooring, and painting bath, dressing room, master bedroom and closets. While Marek Matisse, the person doing the work showed up every day, his work was subpar and he was not respectful of our home and furnishings. He wasn’t always prepared to work because he didn’t bring equipment he needed. He was constantly borrowing tools, not always returned. He needed a work light one day, and decided to use a brand new $750 lamp with a fabric shade. He didn’t ask to use it. I only realized it when he complained that it didn’t have bulbs in it. He also very badly scratched our cherry dresser, leaving a very deep gouge. The work did not start well when I wanted to keep a 4’x7’ vanity mirror to reinstall on our bedroom wall. Project manager Mike Rosseland and Marek both told me it couldn’t be removed without breaking it. Interestingly, they just happened to remove it when I was not scheduled to be home. Fortunately, I returned early to find a glass truck in my garage and Marek and another man removing my intact mirror to the truck. They refused to bring the mirror back up, saying it would break. In other words, if they couldn’t take it, they would make sure that we could no longer use it. It will cost us at least $1000 to replace that mirror. Vanity outlets were added and replaced with GFI. Unfortunately, they were not properly located and are not to code. We installed a mosaic tile border in the shower and vanity backsplash. The tiles were not installed evenly in several places and grout lines therefore do not match. Very shoddy. We installed special order tile and Mike Rosseland, the project manager, didn’t want to determine the amount we needed. As he told me, “We just order a bunch of tile and take back what we don’t use.” Returning unused tile was not an option as it was all special order, and Mike understood that very well. And the tile was expensive. Still, Mike apparently doesn’t know how to do math. I spent an entire afternoon measuring and calculating the amount of tile, and included an additional 20% as Mike recommended for cuts, etc. We agreed on the amount of tile to be ordered, however Mike still ordered boxes more tile than we needed and agreed to. He then very generously offered to take the excess off of my hands, but only if he didn’t have to pay me for it. We still have boxes of unused tile. The painting that was supposed to be done was incomplete. The walls, ceiling and 2 doors were painted, but the closets and trim were not. The trim paint that we paid for also disappeared. We had several issues at the end that we waited at least months for them to address. It wasn’t until the closet rod pulled out of the wall that Mike responded. These above issues, as well as severely yellowed tub caulk, were not resolved. The closet wall was patched and the wall repainted, which was when we learned that the closets had not been painted. When Mike finally responded 6 months later after repeated calls, he insisted that the door and trim paint were the same (they definitely are not) and that the closets had been painted.

Extremely well. Perhaps even better than that. The greatest "value add" was that Neighborhood Remodelers took care of practically everything. We would select the things we would want (cabinets, countertop, floor, etc., and Neighborhood Remodelers took it from there, contacting the providers, obtaining the items, and installing them. This made a great difference, as they were able to adequately "time" the acquisition of the various components (for example, you cannot install the appliances before the floor is placed). They also have acquired the most skilled workers, and the one who performed most of the work at our house was a complete, multi-talented superstar (I'm serious here). From the "big stuff" to the tiniest details (some of which I never would have imagined), they were excellent. I have a relative who had hired them (how I learned of them), also with extreme satisfaction, and now I know that our great experience with them was a standard, and not a fluke. I strongly recommend them.

It turned out excellent! Mario did the work and was the utmost professional and on task worker, very polite, courteous, skilled, and helpful. We have used N.R. In the past so this is actually the second time around for us using them. Believe me, we would use them yet again if another house related project arises. My wife and I are both teachers so we are quite thorough and detailed, but honestly I can't think of anything other than praise and a huge THANK YOU! to end this review.

We are repeat customers of Neighborhood Remodelers and wouldn't dream of using anyone else for any home construction project. We were thrilled with the results of a kitchen remodel NR did for us in our Chicago condo in 2013 with custom cabinetry and immaculate replacement of the original granite counter and backsplash. It was that level of detail and constant professionalism (friendly, punctual, detail-oriented work crew and company owners who treat us like family) that brought us to NR again when our basement flooded. While our waterproofing team kept scaling back on their original promise to prep the basement and do the demolition work, Luke and Wes and their team stepped in, tackling all of the work the waterproofing company originally promised to do and then refused. Wes stripped the damaged portions of the basement down to the bare cement floor and drywall studs to allow the waterproofers to come in and lay a new drain tile system. Then Wes and his crew carefully put new wall, flooring, and baseboard throughout the entire 1200 sq foot basement. They arrived every morning at 7:30 and worked until 5:30 nightly for three weeks to finish the basement. It looks better than we ever dreamed it would. They helped me make the right decisions about materials and paint and treated our house like it was their own. We are so pleased with the result. You pay for the quality you get, and it isn't cheap, but the results aren't cheap either. Just as with the kitchen remodel four years ago I know NR has added substantial value to our home with their fine worksmanship.

The work was completed ahead of schedule by one week which is quite amazing in the construction field. The quality of the finished product is excellent, and any of the minimal issues that arose were promptly and professionally rectified. Marek, the job foreman, was always on time, hard working, patient and creative in addressing challenges. Both Marek and David, the project manager, were excellent resources in providing referrals to quality contacts in the Quartz countertop and carpeting businesses. Overall, this is a well run professional contractor, from the initial bid provided by Luke, the work completed, and the contact with Sam in the front office. We would definitely hire them again.

Everybody from Luke, to the initial floor planner (Jill), to project manager (Mike), to interior designer (Abbey), to the day-to-day hands on construction (Peter), and on to their billing specialists (Samantha and Kerin), they all acted as if they were working on their own home. Friendly, responsive, with quality work and materials. You can't go wrong with this company.
Description of Work: In the past two years I've hired Neighborhood Remodelers twice. First time was to remodel my kitchen and laundry room. We were so impressed with their professionalism, timeliness, price, design expertise, and access to quality furniture and fixtures that we hired them again the next year to remodel two upstairs bathrooms. We were not disappointed. The things we liked about our first experience was evident again in our second experience

We were so happy with Neighborhood's work on our bathrooms, we have already hired them again to renovate our girls' room. I can't give any higher praise than that. From the design help at the beginning of the process until the last punchlist item, everyone on the team was responsive and helpful. Mike managed our project and his communication was incredibly fast. You will not get the nightmare "rip up your house and disappear" with these guys (granted, there were days of no progress when waiting on material to come in but that's not the contractor, that's just a renovation reality). We had done our homework before we started, and knew that with an old house there would be surprises (underfloor repairs; cracked plumbing stack etc) that were going to add to the cost. All were reasonable. This was our first "big" home project and they were very patient with all my questions and the many times I changed my mind on an element, and offered many great suggestions I would not have thought of. Their suggested vendors were also really helpful and offered significant discounts.

Great. Their project leader, David, visited daily and followed up on every tiny detail without fail. Paul, their onsite crew leader was very responsive, very skillful, and had good ideas on some of the fine tuning. Changes and adjustments to plan were readily accommodated. Billing was per contract, timely, and clear. We were most concerned about dust and dirt, and, of course, there was some but it was minimal for this type of work. Their price was middle of the pack, but your got top quality work. The 3rd party vendors I chose from their suggested list for vanity tops, glass/mirrors, fixture/accessories were also just right. BTW, their in-house cabinetry sales had a great selection and a great price. A great deal in my book. The price I listed was for their work as well the 3rd party vendors and some items I bought on my own.

Excellent. They provided weekly progress reports and updates so I knew exactly when and where my money was going. Their crew always showed up on time (or I was notified in advance if there were any changes). They did what it took to do a complete and professional job, including coming back weeks after the work if something loosened up or needed to be altered. Given the problems I have had with plumbing and electrical work that previous owners have done, for anything critical that i don't want to ever have to worry about again, I go to these guys.
