Neighborhood Remodelers

The Neighborhood Remodelers team was excellent. Their price was very reasonable and we feel as though we got beyond what we paid for. Luke was always very responsive and helpful, and Marek and Arthur were great at doing the work in the kitchen. Their attention to detail was great and they were very kind when we had last minute requests or changes. The quality of the work was extremely high and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They even came back upon our request after the final installation because our kitchen sink was draining slowly and Arthur quickly fixed the issue. They were very pleasant to have around and we definitely recommend them!

UPDATED: I have had numerous problems with the work Neighborhood Remodelers did. A number of problems they fixed. Others they have not. The problems began just months after the work was completed. These are the problems they haven't fixed. The closet door in the hallway was not put in correctly and keeps coming off the track and now is warped from us having to put it back on the track so many times. A big patch of drywall is dented and cracked over the other closet door and the other closet door in the bedroom - the wood pieces fell off. I complained about this work for over a year and it has been a cat and mouse game of trying to get them to fix the work. In November, I emailed them with the complaint that my complaints were being ignored. And now today, there were supposed to come at noon. I emailed them this morning that I needed them to come at 1pm instead. They didn't look at their emails and showed up at noon. I told the worker he needed to come back at 1pm. He didn't say that wasn't possible and left with no intention of returning. I complained to Luke who said that because I had rescheduled one time before and wanted Marek to come back at 1pm today - that they would not do the repairs and that I would have to find someone else. THE UPSHOT: Don't use Neighborhood Remodelers for ANYTHING. They don't stand by their work. They aren't professional. They have run me ragged trying to get the repairs done for faulty work and I am angry and frustrated that I paid them for such terrible work. There are better remodelers out there - Don't use them. I can't say enough good things about Neighborhood remodelers. They are exactly what I was looking for in a remodeler - and I am very tough! I had more than 8 remodelers come to give me an estimate - and I passed all of them up. As soon as I met Luke from Neighborhood Remodelers I knew right away I had found the right people. The business is family owned and you can tell. Luke had promised me a written estimate in two days - he sent it to me same day! They took care of any permitting or plans with my condo building without me prompting them and we set a date for the remodel and we met it. The other members of the Neighborhood Remodelers team - are also terrific. I honestly would have them over just for dinner. Mick, Jerry, - all of them! Just nice people who care about what they do. They were always on time and never even seemed to take any bathroom or lunch breaks. They would work through all day until 4:30 or 5pm. If I didn't like something or wanted it improved- they always tried to do what I asked them to do. It has been a few weeks since my remodeling ended and even the very few things I saw that I wanted them to fix - they came back right away to do the job. How many companies will do that for you? None - except Neighborhood Remodelers. When you are looking for a remodeler, budget is really important - and these guys met it. But you are also looking for people you can trust - and who you can live with having in your home for an extended period of time. If this is of concern to you - these guys are the answer to your problem. Not to mention they do excellent work without complaint. A very rare company - I am so very, very impressed. UPDATE: I have had trouble with some of the remodeling. I have been waiting for it to be fixed. The closet shelves caved. in Still waiting for someone to show up. Scheduled a time and the contractor was a no-show.

I am very pleased with the outcome of my bath remodel not only with the quality of the work done but it came out under budget. Neighborhood Remodelers are organized and are very concerned with customer satisfaction. As a result I plan to use them again for future projects/

Neighborhood Remodelers were not the cheapest estimate we received but something about the initial consultation with Luke gave us a good feeling about working with them on our home remodel. Not only was he punctual but also friendly and very understanding of what needed to be done on the project. The crew arrived on time and did their best to disrupt the household as little as possible while working in our home. Sebastian and his crew were very friendly and worked very hard to make sure the finished product was perfect. Tarps were laid out in traffic areas and the crew was very concerned about keeping our home free of dust and particles to the best of their abilities. We've had some work done in the past and have to say that our experience with Neighborhood Remodelers is the best so far. They care about the customer and make every effort to complete projects on time and on budget. Will definitely use them again for future projects and suggest anyone else to do the same.

We emailed Neighborhood Remodelers and received a phone call a day or so later. An appointment was set up to give us an estimate for a bathroom remodel. Luke arrived promptly on time. He was a very nice man, very upbeat. He took some detailed measurements of the bathroom and we discussed what we wanted to do. We were interested in a complete remodel including removing a tub and replacing it with a shower.Luke's company sounded very professional and thorough. He explained that we would meet again with the planner who would give us specifics about what to order and what the specifics would be for tile, how much to buy, etc. if we wanted to buy these things ourselves. They would give us a day by day calendar spelling out what work would be performed on each day. Wow.He left a complete packet of information with us that included their license, their list of awards, their Better Business rating and many, many references.We were duly impressed.We ultimately decided to hold off on the job until next summer. Their cost was a bit more than we had budgeted for, but they seem worth it, so we are going to save a little more and get it done next summer.

I inquired on a weekend, they responded politely Monday morning. Company does not service the South Shore Area. I give an A only because anything less would be unfair since I did not have the opportunity to go further.

Luke was prompt and very pleasant. He quickly provided a very detailed quote with various options, so it was easy for me to breakout the different tasks I needed done. He also separated approximate costs for materials such as cabinets, etc so that I could more easily see the labor. When I had questions, he responded right away. Ultimately I went with another builder who lives nearby and was less expensive, but I was very happy with the experience with Neighborhood remodelers and would certainly consider them for work in the future.

We could not be happier with Neighborhood Remodelers. Due to an underwhelming experience with a different contractor last year (not on Angie's List), we made sure to evaluate 4 different providers (3 from Angie's List), and it was not even close. From the moment we spoke to Luke (owner), we knew Neighborhood Remodelers was the right choice. Luke brought out the team to meet us and discuss the project, then started 2 weeks later.The team was comprised of Mick (Project Manager), Peter (Foreman) and Marion (Tradesman). These guys were fantastic. They started on a Tuesday, and finished everything except the shower glass (which was a special order through a sub-contractor) two weeks later. Mick sent a schedule that showed the project lasting about 4 weeks, which seemed reasonable to us. By the end of the first week, Peter and Marion had completed 2 weeks worth of work in 4 days. They don't just work fast. The quality is top notch. Peter and Marion did all of the work (except the shower glass). They are like machines...showing up at 8AM on the button each day and working until 5PM or later. They are also very friendly, polite and courteous. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the work area and garage (sweep &/or vacuum). They neatly stored all of their tools & supplies. They covered the carpet with plastic to prevent it from being damaged.They use a realtor lock so they can get in and out of the house without one of us having to be there. This made it much easier on us, as we did not have to wait around or rush back to let them in. Mick is the Project Manager and addressed any questions I had. He also recommended the glass provider for the shower, and managed that installation. The glass was the last thing installed, due to the custom cut required, and it looks gorgeous.Luke made some big promises at the start of the project, about how great his team was going to perform. He was right...they exceeded our expectations. We would gladly recommend Neighborhood Remodelers to anyone looking to renovate their home. Given how well this project went, we are very excited to have them renovate our kitchen later this year.

The reason it's taken me so long to review the work Neighborhood Remodelers did for us is that I've been too busy enjoying the beautiful new basement space they built for us! I chose NR over 2 other bidders because their price was the best, they guaranteed the work would be done before Christmas, they seemed very professional yet very friendly, and they had excellent reviews on this list! NR went above and beyond great service in fixing up my rec room. Not only did they do beautiful work on the room itself--including drywall, tile flooring, painting and electrical, but they also handled an unrelated outdoor electrical problem we were having at the same time, and at a price much lower than the other electricians we'd called. Oh, and they finished the whole project in 3 weeks--before Thanksgiving!! We are very happy with our new space, and would definitely use NR again.

This being our first major remodel, we were apprehensive but this experience was great from start to finish. The salesman (Luke Rosseland) was very professional and realistically explained what could and couldn't be done. Ultimately, we decided how far to go with the job and how much we were willing to spend. The project manager (Mick Aleksic) was on scene almost daily to check on the job's progress, troubleshoot with suppliers, and answer any questions or concerns. The project foreman (Kamil Trawicki) and his crew did a fantastic job from start to finish with as little disruption to the house as possible. They communicated what they were doing before they did it to make sure it was right, were always prompt and ready to work, stuck to the project schedule and cleaned up after themselves daily. The quality of workmanship is reflected in the finished product, of which we are extremely happy, and we felt very comfortable having them in our home. The only glitches were supply issues (avoid Home Depot at all costs) which didn't really affect the final completion and were worked around. All in all we were very happy with Neighborhood Remodelers and the job they did. We would highly recommend them.

While we did not ultimately select their estimate we found them to be competitive, professional and responsive to our questions and concerns. We would certainly consider them as one of our options for any future work we might need done that falls into their areas of expertise.

They did a very nice job. We were very pleased with how everything turned out. There were two workers who were here and they were here 6 days a week every day until they were finished. The project moved right along. We were pleased with that they pushed it through.

Overall their service was good. They were very willing to work with us. They passed along their contractors discounts to us instead of keeping it to themselves. I just had a person in here yesterday for some plumbing work that needed looking after. They were very receptive to getting people out when things needed to done. I have referred them to others.

They were wonderful. I would highly recommend them. They were very knowledgeable about the work. They were always on time, except for any traffic problems. If there were traffic problems, they would call. They were there when you expected them to be. There were terrific in every sense of the word. They knew what they were doing they were reliable. I could leave the house in comfort; I could trust them. I just can’t say enough good things about them. They also include a decorator in their service to help out if wanted. She was terrific; I actually still use her for other things.

They were on time and they cleaned up the workshop every day. I thought it was a good value and I would recommend them. They use English as a second language, so you do need to talk to the foreman. The manager was available when he was called. The laborers were courteous.

I was very pleased with their service. They were very professional and on time.

Our home is over 50 years old, so when we applied for a building permit we found that hard-wired smoke and CO detectors would be required and that led to additional electrical work on the breaker panel. This added several days and about $2000 to the cost of the job. We elected to retain a cast iron tub original to the house. After the shower doors were removed there was discoloration underneath them, so we had the tub refinished, which caused another delay in the work. Miscommunication with the plumbing supply vendor led to our purchasing the wrong shower head and subsequent plumbing issues, but Mike, project manager, went out of his way to get the right parts for us and to redo some of the plumbing that had already been done, including redo of tile work. Joe and his partner were excellent workers and perfectionists when doing the tile work, carpentry and painting. They were SUPER! It looks great and we're very happy.

Excellent. Neighborhood Remodelers were sensitive to our situation and rather than focusing in on the bad work that was done by the previous, they just got to work and fixed it. We were astonished by the results we were seeing on a daily basis. They started work on a Saturday. And everyday they put in a respectable day and were always on time. Wojtek, our Forman, was in constant communication with us, as was Mike our Project Manager. We found a bathtub at a contractor outside of NR network, the bathtub place called to tell us that they offered NR a contractor discount and Mike said to pass it on to the customer that we had been through a lot. That is just one of many examples of the courtesy and customer satisfaction we experienced. We are delighted with the end result. We will definitely use NR for our future projects.

Overall it went very well. Luke, the sales guy and owner I believe, was very nice to work with. The project manager and contractor staff were great. NR uses a number of subcontractors but they managed the process for us and made it relatively easy on us. The costs were all negotiated upfront and they did not go over on cost. Stayed within budget for labor and parts. Only problem is work took a little longer than originally expected. But it was a lot of work with a lot of little twists and turns along the way due to how this home was originally built. At the end of the day, NR and their staff did a great job. I'd hire them again and I'd recommend then to anyone. Thanks! Dan

NR was extremely great to work with. They were very responsive to all of our needs, requests, and changes. They were always willing to sit down with us and go over invoices, costs, budget, etc. We were never made to feel as if we were being unreasonable or difficult. As any construction, we had changes along the way, and NR was able to accomodate all of our wants. Paul, who actually did all of the construction, was punctual, responsive and very easy to work with. In fact, we had some concerns at one point and he came out on a Saturday to discuss everything with us. Anytime we had questions or an issue with how things were going, Paul would always answer our questions or fix any issue we had. Paul was even really good at coming up with suggestions on grout color, laying of tile, even paint color, etc. We used their company to build our bathroom cabinets, and they are gorgeous!!! Everyone we dealt with at NR, Luke, Mike, Kerin, Sam, Jill, were all helpful, responsive, and easy to work with. And now we have an absolutely stunning bathroom! I would definitely recommend working with NR.

Excellent company to work with - I was impressed from start to finish. They worked around my schedule to set up appointments; the estimate they provided was thorough and was the first estimate back from all the contractors who gave me quotes. They kept me informed as the work progressed and gave me ideas as they worked. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding. I would highly recommend Neighborhood Remodelers for any major remodeling job!

This project was started July 1, 2011 and completed by October 8, 2011. We decided to wait before we submitted our report to Angie's List to see how everything we had done worked. We would like to say that we are so please with everything. Our new kitchen, family room and back entrance are just great! When we started doing research on this project in May 2011 we looked to referrals on Angie's List. We selected 3 recommended contractors to meet with and submit a bid. We selected Neighborhood Remodeler's after we met with Luke. He impressed us with his knowledge of remodeling kitchens, a competitive bid including the help of their in-house designer Jill and the fact they can handle all our needs. He had answers to all our questions and a call list to contact former clients to see how they like their work. The next meeting was with our assigned Team of Luke, Jill, Mike and Joe. They came to our house on a Saturday and spent several hours going over our project, measuring and answering all our questions. Jill met with us next showing 3 to 4 layouts for our kitchen-backroom area. We have an old house that has been in my husband's family. His Dad had done an addition in the 1960's and the kitchen was done then too, so you can see we had an old kitchen with many issues to deal with. Jill did a wonderful job and presented us with many great ideas. She also provided us with cabinet choice's which could go from custom to stock choices. Counter top options, sink, faucet, lighting ideas. This company offers a lot of help and if they do not supply a product, they will provide you with a list of vendors that may include discounts for products you may need for your project. After we got our layout and cabinets selected, Mike our project manager, went and got all permits and necessary paperwork. We had a asbestos vinyl floor in this area. They do not remove this type of flooring and quickly referred us to Blue Stone Environmental or we could pick our own. We also found this company on Angie's List with a good listing. Work started when they promised and they had all demolition completed in 2 days including removal of all debris except the flooring. Neighborhood Remodelers coordinated with Blue Stone Environmental who came in the next day and took care of proper removal of the floor. Everything went together beautifully. Joe was our project foreman who had an unbelievable team of hard working people to complete our project. We want to say, yes we had glitches as every project comes up with issues. When we started with this company, we got a contact list of everyone's cell phone numbers. When issues did arise, we got answers within a day or less. Someone always got back to us with a response and the issues were addressed immediately, fixed and moved on to a wonderful completion of our kitchen. They were accurate on how long the project would take, set us up with a temporary kitchen and were always there when we needed them. We want to thank Luke, Jill, Mike Joe, and the office staff for the excellent work they did. If you are looking to do any kind or remodeling project in your home, you should call Neighborhood Remodelers for an estimate. If we need any work done in future, they will be the first we call and recommend to anyone who has a project in their home.

They were very professional, helpful throughout the projects, and truly did an outstanding job for us! They made sure that all supplies were ordered and ready to go prior to starting the work so the work was completed on a timely basis and exceeded our expectations. Mike was an outstanding supervisor and kept us up to date on progress throughout the project. We would definitely use their services again and highly recommend their company!
