Neighborhood Remodelers did a great job from bid through construction. The entire staff is very friendly and responsive. They made my project seem like the most important project they had. They were contentious of our personal space and did their best to minimize the disruption that all construction projects have.

The downstairs bathroom was the eyesore of the house. They put in all new walls and replaced the bathtub with a walk in shower. Put in a new vanity and mirror, with new lighting. They found water damage in the area around the tub and had to replace the wood and the bathroom window which was broken. When these problems were found, everything was explained as to why these thing had to be fixed, and gave a price before proceeding with the work. The men doing the work were professional, courteous, and obviously took great pride in their work. They came on time every day and worked a full day, every day. Once the initial work was completed, they contacted the people that were to put in the shower door. Again the individuals that came in to do the work were professional and courteous, and of course did a great job. Now, the room that was the eyesore of the house is now the most beautiful, thanks to Neighborhood Remodelers.

The project went well and we are quite pleased with the result. The foreman (Art) and his team are skilled craftsmen who work in a very professional manner. Art was on-site daily to monitor progress and make sure that the project details were addressed. I believe that the pricing of the job was fair and there were no surprises. We would use Neighborhood Remodelers again.

We were extremely satisfied with the work Neighborhood Remodelers did on our basement (twice remodeled actually, due to our whole neighborhood flooding in 2013), bathroom and some work on the exterior of the house (siding, windows and stone work). So we called them again to remodel our small 1950's kitchen. My sales rep was Luke again and he was very enthusiastic about helping us and had great ideas about how to maximize the space and achieve a sleek, more modern look. Mick was our project manager and Sebastian was our foreman. Both were terrific and easy to communicate with. The transformation is amazing, hard to believe it's the same room! Not only does it look fantastic, but we have a lot more countertop and cabinet space. We are very pleased and plan to use them again when we remodel another bathroom next year.

Very nice and polite. Sadly the estimate I received was very questionable. The estimate included a $40,000 quote to remodel my kitchen even though I never asked for an estimate and the guy spent about two minutes walking past my kitchen. The rest of the estimate was your standard canned estimate which I expected-included a lowball bid and hidden in the estimate was the fact that I was going to pay extra for almost everything required for the job except labor and drywall/wood trim. I've gotten a number of other estimates for the same work. It has taken everyone else at least a week to get back to me. These guys took less than 24 hours. I suspect they just have a canned estimate and slap a price on it. Not impressed. Guess every kitchen costs a minimum of $40,000 without ever even asking about the scope of work.

ge First and foremost I did ALOT of research and interview a number of good Angie's List candidates before choosing Neighborhood. In the end I had 3 great candidates to choose from. I am a big believer in personalities and the people factor and Neighborhood was my choice! After receiving my quote they quickly set up a date to start which was about a month away and perfect. They left me a brochure with places to shop and references. I got a great discount on their recommendation from the tile store and they arranged delivery to my house (and took back the overage, which will be refunded to me....really nice). Mike was my primary contact throughout the 3 week process and was very consistent in emailing me and keeping me up to date and/or just there to answer questions, etc. He was always professional and very available. Jim was my designer and carpenter/plumber and electrician all in one! From day one we hit it off perfectly. He was always there on time, worked many long days. Every single day he would put down rug coverings and by the time he left at night you would never guess there was ANY construction going on at the house! He set up in the garage for tools, etc and again, super organized and neat...never a mess! On days he may have been running late he always let me know. He made GREAT design suggestions for laying out the tile and best use of the space...many things I would never have thought of and I was extremely grateful that he took the time to walk me through everything. Bottom line, he was just plain AMAZING and I my only regret is that I did not find Neighborhood early to do some of my earlier remodeling projects. I would use them anytime. Right now I am planning my next project to hire them...kitchen backsplash in the next few months. I can't wait..I KNOW they will do a great job.

They completed the job in six days total. Framing, sanding, electric, flooring, painting and relocating a gas line all within six days. Absolutely no drama and a superb job. The basement went from a super depressing outdated cellar into a more updated cheerful space with potential. Also $2500 cheaper than a competitor. It was a basement remodel. i accidental put it under bathroom/kitchen remodel

Neighborhood Remodelers (NR) completed the remodel within a reasonable budget. Communication was maintained throughout, with everyone responsive to phone calls/emails/requests. Their list of distributors was helpful in the purchase of all items. It was evident they have a successful and respectful relationship with the companies. Luke was on time, professional and easy to talk with at the initial visit and at the meeting with the team assigned to the project. He listened to the goals I had in mind for the rooms and followed up with a detailed proposal and information packet. Project manager, Mike R., took care of all paperwork with the Village, scheduled inspections and coordinated the delivery of all materials. He was on-site in response to all phone calls and emails, listened to my concerns and followed through in getting things done. Marek M., who did the work was exceptional-- efficient, hard working and knowledgeable about how things work and how things should be done. He fixed and re-did a few things I pointed out, or that he noticed. He answered questions, explained things and a few times offered experienced advice. Watching and asking questions during the actual work was not a problem. I felt comfortable speaking up about something that was not acceptable and the NR team followed through on their mission of customer satisfaction. And when the bathroom tiles were not what I had ordered, they worked on other things and were patient while I re-searched and reordered new tiles. Jill the designer, also listened to my goals/needs for the kitchen and was most helpful designing various layouts. The final plan maximized the use of space resulting in lots of storage and countertop work areas. From our meetings she got a sense of the style I was looking for and gave valuable advice on choices for cabinets while answering all my questions. Karen and Sam at the NR office maintained an interest in the project, communicated detailed updates and explained the final paperwork. The team of electricians did a good job. They took the time to discuss the best way to install the ceiling can lights when the original plan didn?t work. However, they were asked to change the one light switch for all the under cabinet lights into two switches. Though the switches are in the same location, at least the under cabinets lights in different parts of the kitchen can be turned on separately. I thought having the switch placed where the lights are located would have been the norm. The only phase that was disappointing was the work done re two plumbing jobs. The sink drain pipe in the powder room and the supply lines and drain for the sink in the bathroom needed to be redone to attain the original aesthetic look. Mike and the plumbers problem solved the situations and the work resulted in a satisfactory conclusion. A few months after completion, settling caused slight cracks in the bathroom ceiling and with some of the caulking around the tub and floor tiles. In late spring (an agreed upon time), Marek returned and fixed the problems. Though there were a few issues and glitches, over all the project was a success. Already a year has passed and everything is fine. Because of NR?s team approach and their stance on developing company/client relations, I have recommended them and would hire them again for future projects.
Description of Work: Completely gutted, to the studs, the kitchen/powder room and second floor full bathroom. Installed: insulation, dry wall, flooring, appliances, sinks, toilets, tub, cabinets, vanities, new exterior door and outside motion sensor light, one interior door, exhaust fan in the bathroom-- vented through the roof; electrical work (re wiring, lights, GFI outlets); rerouting of one gas line and capping off of a second line; replacement of some h/c water supply pipes; painting of all rooms.

I initially met with Luke in Nov 2013 for the estimate and he was very personable and and outlined the company's background and process. He was very responsiveness in providing an initial estimate and stayed in touch as I gathered additional bids and through the holidays. I did contact references provided by NR and met with a reference who turned out to be within a few streets of my house. She was very happy with their work and offered to let me stop by to see their quality of their work. Being able to see an example of their work was incredibly helpful versus only pictures on a website. The project started in April and took about 5 weeks. During the process I worked with Mike as the project manager, and Abbey as designer. The work was completed by Kamil and his father John along with the electrical and plumbing contractors that NR uses on a regular basis. Throughout the project, NR was responsive and attentive to my questions. Mike readily handled any problem, including the morning of the inspection when I was out of town on business and my daughter's bathroom faucet handle broke when she went to turn it on. This was not an issue with NR but must have been a defective product. I contacted Mike from Minneapolis and he was able to get a replacement and have it installed in time for the inspection. There have been no problems with the faucet since it was replaced. I ordered cabinets from Studio 41 with one cabinet taking the place of a former linen closet. When it appeared the top cabinet might be a problem with a header that wasn't apparent until the drywall was removed, NR was able to adjust the cabinet height and make it work. Overall I was very pleased with NR. Suggestions to other prospective clients would be to prepare for the amount of time required to make design and materials choices. Even with a designer it is an investment that requires your personal time. Additionally, keep track of estimates and expenses. I was billed for a plumbing materials quote from Studio 41 when I ended ordering all plumbing rom Crawford Supply. NR resolved the problem quickly, and I was glad I had a file of al past quotes, change orders etc.
Description of Work: I hired NR to remodel a 2nd floor jack/jill style bathroom for my daughters.

A great company to work with. Gave us a highly detailed proposal spelling out scope of work and materials in a line-by-line format for each phase of the job. Started work on schedule in late April and stayed with it to completion in early June. Quality of workmanship by Peter (carpentry, tile, plumbing and electrical) was excellent, he was on the job daily and kept us informed as work progressed. Mike, the project manager, was here daily monitoring progress and was a big help in facilitating communications with contractors and suppliers. Very professional in processing change orders, handling invoicing, etc. Would definitely recommend Neighborhood Remodelers, they have a great "customer first" attitude!
Description of Work: Remodeled main bath: removed tub and installed walk-in shower, new vanity, mirror, sconces, overhead lighting, fan and toilet. Installed all new tile to flooring and shower interior. Installed new tile flooring and exhaust fan/light in master bath; refinished hardwood floors in kitchen and dining room.

Our experience with Luke and his crew was generally very positive. We initially contacted five companies to bid our basement remodel project and though Neighborhood Remodelers was not the most inexpensive they were the most responsive and professional so we decided to go with them. The quality of the work and the responsiveness of their team would make it easy to recommend them without reservation. I've already asked them to give me proposals for additional porch and kitchen projects.

Neighborhood Remodelers are very professional and easy to work with. Luke came out for the quote, and discussed various options with me. He was also very amenable when I wanted to make some minor-medium changes in the contract, and his price was very competitive. Arthur and his crew did great work, and we're very happy with our new kitchen. From the demo through putting in the final trim, we were happy with the time it took and with the quality of the work. Bill was my project manager, and was always very responsive to my requests. When I had a couple of plumbing issues towards the end of the project, Bill and Arthur made sure it got fixed right away. I would recommend this company (and already have) to neighbors and friends.

The experience was top notch from start to finish. Neighborhood Remodelers provided a competitive quote and worked with us to plan our bathroom remodeling project the encompassed a complete gut remodel of 2 bathrooms in our house. They started the project on time and completed it on schedule as planned. The result was very good. We decided we wanted to work with a 3rd party for some custom cabinets and the project manager for our project did a nice job of coordinating with the 3rd party cabinet maker to have the cabinets installed when it got to that stage. The quality of the work they provided with their internal construction crew was very good and they were excellent in communicating with us as questions inevitable came up with some unexpected challenges of pipe placements to make sure that the end result met our expectations. I would highly recommend this company to anyone doing a kitchen or bath remodel project. This is the 2nd project we worked with them on and both met or exceeded our expectations. Big thanks to the Neighborhood crew!!!!!

I would like to clarify that we do not consider a $25,000 job to be small. The reason we did not take Rik's project is because he lives in a high rise and we no longer work in high rises. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

It went like "clock work" daily - not that I had anything to do with it. The time frame was better than the 6-8 weeks estimated, it was done in 4 weeks. Luke, Mike, Merak, Edwin and occasionally Arthur are a great team, they work fluidly together, everyone knew what to do, making sure every aspect of the job was done and each arrived at the appropriate time. One area I really appreciated was getting the list of distributors for the items I was responsible for purchasing, it saved time. Another was the fact that they would let me know a few days in advance what was going to be needed next, I had a chance to have it when needed. Merak and Edwin were regularly on the job for 8 hours five days a week. Near the end there was only Edwin but when he was determined to get certain things done, he would ask if he could stay later to accomplish the task. My punch list of 3 items were finished 2 days ago. I called immediately to say there was a leak under the sink, the under cabinet lights were not installed (I still had them in my room) and that the moved phone line wasn't working. Edwin returned that day, assessed the situation and returned the next day to fix everything. I failed to mention how clean they were, every day the area was cleaned and their tools stacked away. All of them were punctual, courteous and mindful of my property. I would definitely use them again, I like their business style and commitment to excellence.
Description of Work: My home was built in the 1940s and I believe I still had the original (10x11') kitchen painted over and tweeked here and there. NR dismantled old cabinets, counter top, plaster walls to the studs and hauled away debris. Closed in a window, added insulation, repositioned electrical outlets, installed recessed can lights in ceiling before installing floor to ceiling drywall. Installed new cabinets, counter top, under counter sink, faucet, flooring, range exhaust hood, and connected refrigerator water line, under sink filtration system and under cabinet lights. Every detail such as painting, addressing unsightly issues (window frame, door, threshold, etc.). Everything was detailed in the contract, the allowances for what I wanted and was to secure, and what they would do. I was given a list of references in my area that they had worked for, it was good. They did everything I asked them to do and more - I was pleasantly surprised. I am pleased with the project and I get a warranty should anything go wrong in the near future.

There were two young men who came daily to do the work. There was a project manager who came over periodically, and most important, he was completely available via e-mail. If we had questions for him, he was sure to answer them within a couple of hours either by phone or e-mail. The men who did the daily work were professional, skilled, hard working and polite. If we expressed concerns to them, they addressed the concerns immediately. At the end of the project we had a couple of issues where one or more of them had to return and they did so immediately and fixed the problems. It was a good experience. Several family member have seen the bathroom and really love it.

We scheduled an appointment with the company to come out and do an initial walk through to discuss the project and get an estimate for service. The company provided a draft contract the next day detailing the job scope, pricing and any options. A subsequent meeting was with the project team to discuss details, expectations and timing. The project began early April and completed in 5 weeks (approximate size: 500 square feet). The bulk of the demo, framing and finish carpentry was completed by one individual who showed up at 7am every day, was available to discuss the project and any modifications we had. He kept the work site clean and his work was professional and done right. The project team was available to discuss change orders early in the morning, laid out time lines to manage our expectations and handled all permits, trade scheduling (insulation, drywall, electrical, etc) and inspections. Billing was handled as work was completed. Invoices, change orders and running balances were handled via email from the company's administrative staff, who were attentive and always available. The process was very smooth and communication was excellent. I highly recommend Neighborhood Remodelers.

Their estimate was not the lowest but it was the most detailed and complete. This told me that the contractors with the lower estimates would also have to do the same things so their costs would end up over running their lower estimates. Neighorhood Remodelers also had value added services other contractors didn't, for example, a project manager that kept on top of things (not that he needed to), they removed all the debris every day, they picked up my materials where I bought them so I didn't have to get them home. THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS TOTALLY STRESS FREE!!!!! The guy/s came every morning and got a lot done every day. I would come and go as I needed to. They asked the right questions up front so they knew exactly what I wanted, The only questions they had to ask me during the remodel were which way I wanted the cabinet handles to go and how high did I want the wainscoting. At the end of every day they cleaned up and put their tools away even though they were going to use them the next morning. Their installer was able to all the work normally done by different tradesmen so their were no delays waiting for an electrician or plumber. WHen the cabinets were delivered the installer even checked every item against the packing list to make sure everything was complete. I was so grateful not to have to do that. They estimated 4 weeks and finished in 3. There was no over run in their charges. There is no way I would ever use another contractor. I am spoiled by the quality of this company's work and their customer service.

We searched many different contractors from very large name local contractors to the local handy man and ended up with Neighborhood Remodelers. They were recommended by a local friend and we did like their presentation. Luke came in and was straightforward with us about cost and estimates, and they worked with us around making adjustments. The cost for labor was almost exactly what was quoted and we only had one change order. Credits were provided for minor work that was elected not to be completed (installation of one light and garbage disposal). Mike was extremely responsive when we had questions and provided great contacts for materials. Mike did research for us related to a hot water pump and provided a pump that fit our needs. We chose to go with the cabinets from NR (they will install any you choose) and they appear to be good quality cabinets at a reasonable price (Much much less then the quote from the big box stores and better quality - Note we did find one cabinet box to be out of square when we were adjusting the inset doors at the end. NR offered to replace the cabinet and install for free even though we were almost done, or provided us with a credit for the out of square box). Sebastian did most of the work and was great. Everything was done of high quality and when we noticed something was incorrect or not the way we wanted it, fixed it without any issue whatsoever. Issues were minor but we were particular and he fixed them without question. One benefit with NR was their connection and discounts with local stores for sinks, tile, faucets etc. We would recommend NR to friends or neighbors. Get Sebastian if you can for kitchens or baths.

Luke came to work up an estimate, which was the most competitive of four vendors who visited. His cousin Mike was ultimately in charge of our job, with the work carried out by Marek. Samantha was our contact in their office. I am a stickler for prompt and clear communication, and every member of their team maintained excellent communication. They would frequently respond to our emails within an hour and never took more than a few hours to respond. By agreement, we purchased the vinyl plank flooring, paint, track lights, and bathroom fixtures. Mike and his team picked those up at Floor & Decor and Menard's to save us the trouble. They also put us in touch with a separate carpeting installation company (Carpet Central & Hardwood), who were likewise very professional and cost-effective. Marek showed up promptly at 7:00 a.m. each day. The work was done in two weeks, finished on schedule just as we had requested because we were set to go on vacation. As of now, there have been no problems requiring warranty follow-up. It looks great -- we have a nice new space for our kids and their friends to hang out, though it may be too good for them now! I'd recommend Neighborhood Remodelers to anyone. They listened to what we wanted and didn't press us to do more with the space than we needed, yet it came out looking better than we could have hoped. We'll have them look at our kitchen next.
