Professional and knowledgeable Very clean and courteous while completing the work The temporary tarp installed around the chimney to keep the house dry during winter did its job and was installed in a professional way so it was not obviously visible from street. Tarp worked out well, and they installed the new roof when weather was cooperative in spring.

They were outstanding. Prompt, responsive, tidy and outstanding work. They obviously take a lot of pride in both the quality of their work and their business relationships.

Had ice dam formation in Winter 2013. This was because the gutters were not properly attached. Joseph James removed lower shingles and applied roof underlayment and reattached gutters. Roofer arrived on time and completed job quickly and neatly. They spent a lot of time explaining the work during the initial estimate and also inspected other parts of the roof. Also suggested work that my husband could do himself to seal one of the downspouts and recommended the best sealer. Would definitely use again.

They explained all of the details of the project and the outstanding materials that they use. They helped me pick out the best color and I got to see other roofs in the neighborhood. The crew was outstanding and on time and the job was completed perfectly. A great company and I highly recommend them. The crew also did an excellent job cleaning up the materials from the tear off and did not hurt any plants or shrubs. My neighbor got an estimate from them and her garage roof was done. She said the estimate was better than others she had gotten. I love my roof.

Joseph James is an outstanding contractor. Not the least expensive but very professional , punctual , easy to work with and most of all - honest! I have used them three times over the last 10 years on two different houses; many of my neighbors use them routinely as well. Very highly recommended

If went extremely well. They showed up a 7am each day. Because the weather (wind) was a definite factor. The worked on certain sections of the roof. The entire project took 3 days. The fact that they used a material that was more reliable than the regular black felt was the deciding factor in choosing them. The men were an excellent team. Each one knew what was expected of them and they worked extremely well together. The cleanup was good. Instead of having a dumpster in the drive way and having to park our vehicles on the street for 3 days which means dealing with the town police department, they brought in their dump truck and cleaned up at the end of each day. By 5pm I was able to to put the vehicles back. I am so satisfied with their work that I am going to use them for siding on the house.

Dan came over to inspect our aging roof and gave us a very honest opinion that it was in relatively good shape so we didn't need to redo the roof as other roofing contractors were telling us. He did recommend performing maintenance on the flat part of the roof where water can collect, applying a coating, etc. We went with his recommendation and had the flat roof section work done. He's a pleasure to work and speak with, very responsive when I called about a few other roofing questions / needs. We definitely recommend Joseph-James and will use them again in the future.

They were punctual and neat and did a great job.

All repair work completed was top notch. I used this provider in the past for roofing, siding, and gutters and was not hesitant to use them again Their prices are reasonable, and the quality of their work was top notch.

It went excellent. I was totally informed of the high grade liner and materials used along with being helped with some other homes that they did so I could decide on the roofing color. They were so careful not to damage andner shrubbery and they cleaned up everything excellently. The job was quieter than I expected and I was told each step of the way what was done and what to expect. The trim around my chimney is the best!. They ever returned to check the job after it was completed. I was VERY impressed with their work and with the co-owners who explained everything. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the job done.

They were fantastic. Did a great job explaining their recommendation and different options. Arrived on time and did a great job with clean-up. No hidden costs. Cannot recommend them enough.

Dan came to the house and spent at least an hour explaining what they would do, the materials they would use and why. He went into a detailed explanation of how the job would be done. He answered all the questions we had and explained what would be involved so we could stay out of harms way. He told us the job would be done in two days, weather permitting of course. He promised the area around the house would be cleaned thoroughly. Since we have pets, this was particularly reassuring. They would contact us several days in advance to make the final arrangements again subject to vagaries of the weather. They arrived promptly as promised. Gary supervised the job and responded to all questions and concerns we had. The crew worked professionally. The job was completed as promised. The area all around the house was cleaned up thoroughly. The new roof looks fantastic. It was a big job I had anticipated with some dread. It went so smoothly, my agonizing was completely unjustified.

They do excellent work. They are very meticulous. They are very detailed. No complaints whatsoever. Price was the only thing that I thought was a little high. You do get what you pay for. For something like that, I do not mind paying more. They know what they are doing.

The gutters and downspout work was absolutely excellent – top notch. The aluminum soffit, fascia, door/window cladding was really, really well done. I maintain that the soffit ventilation area (created by physically sawing openings into the wooden fascia before it was covered by ventilated aluminum fascia panels) could have been made much more free-flowing, enhancing the convective flow of fresh air through the attic area, without (much) additional cost or effort. It was a discussion JJ and I had (unfortunately) after the sub-contractor had completed the work. By all accounts from independent resources familiar with the calculations involved, the ventilation provided should prove “sufficient” - but no more. When the subcontractor for the insulation arrived, I discovered that they were preparing to blow-in the incorrect insulation material – not what I had paid for. It took a bit of effort on my part to stop the process, but the correct material was ultimately supplied later that same day. This particular sub-contractor did not leave the work area clean and did moderate cosmetic and mechanical damage during the process. This I ultimately repaired myself and back-charged JJ accordingly, satisfactorily to all. In closing: Roofing (Direct Employees) – Superb. Gutter and Downspouts (Sub-Contractor) – Superb. Aluminum work (Sub-Contractor) – Superb. Soffit Ventilation (as directed by JJ) – and quot;Sufficient / TBDand quot; Insulation (Sub-Contractor) – Personally, not recommended.

Very professional and responsible. Cleaned up after themselves and we were very pleased which is why we will be using them again.

All went very well from beginning to end. I made appointment for estimate and he arrived on time. He inspected roof first and explained products, pros and cons. He answered all my questions thoroughly. When I suggested about installing something, he advised against it and explained why. How cool is that? (How many roofing companies would've taken advantage of a "greenhorn"?? Yes, I read alot about roofs so I could try to be somewhat knowledgable, but still I never had a roof installed before and it does get somewhat confusing) I got 4 or 5 other estimates. Some were higher, some were lower and some about the same. (Note: when I got my estimate, my next door nabor called him over for a estimate and ended up using the same company) I called them to confirm I'd be using them, signed and returned contract.. He gave me an estimated date due to other work being performed.He called back to give me an actual date and reminded me to to remove car from garage since the dumpster would be in driveway. (They first laid down heavy plywood on my driveway and put the dumpster on top to help protect concrete driveway) Both owners and all workers were very efficient and friendly. I'm very satisfied with this company and the work performed.I can see why the same 2 owners have been together for so long and their business is a success. THank you!!.

Arthur, the project manager, returned our call promptly and arrived at our home soon thereafter. Arthur and his associate found some snow in th attic where the wind had blown it in. They removed the snow and recommended having one of the vents checked when possible to determine whether the source of the problem originated there or was the result of a "once in a 30 years event". I was pleasantly shocked when Arthur refused to accept any payment for there services! I definitely would use Arthur and his associate again and would expect to pay for their services. They are both competent and pleasant to deal.

Excellent -- Joseph James is probably the best contractor I've worked with in the last couple of years. Gary and Dan are very knowledgeable and professional. They kept me informed as to when my job would be scheduled, and were very helpful in my deciding on a new roof color. They are so organized that the were even able to refer me to houses similar to mine that had the different roof colors I was considering. The crew that did the job was just as professional; I was especially impressed with how clean the worksite was. I had almost no debris to clean up after they left; in contrast, when my neighbors had roofing done, I had a lot of debris from their contractors that I needed to clean up. Overall an excellent experience, I wish I could find more contractors like these guys.

I was pleased with their work. They used quality materials. They showed up when they said they were going to. Everything was very upfront on their part. They did a nice job, and I am happy with it.

Work took about 4 hours. No real inconvenience in the process.

It was excellent and their price and workmanship was great. There is no other roof company that I would use in this area. They are coming out to give me an estimate on another project I have.

They sub contracted the project to another company. They were fine and very professional. I wouldn’t say that they were the cheapest, but they did a quality job and paid attention.

I called on Tuesday to ask for someone to come out and give me an estimate on fixing the roof. The next day someone was there to take a look at the damage, it was a simple fix and would have been done the same day if my husband did not sleep through the doorbell. They came back on Saturday and fixed the roof using extra shingles that were left over from when the previous owners had the roof installed. While they were there they also completed an estimate on replacing the roof on the garage. When I go my bill for the repair work, I was very surprised that it was for only $30.00! The estimate on our garage roof was very reasonable. As soon as spring comes, Joseph-James will be replacing our garage roof.
