+ -1 moreWe then were told we would be called in two weeks to set the installation time. When we did not receive that call, we began follow up calls, including a contact with the owner of the company, who offered the somewhat lame apology that they were "backed up" 2-3 weeks and that they really should not have agreed to install the doors. Eventually we arranged for someone else to do the installation, and the doors were finally delivered about 7 weeks after the order was placed. However the doors had not been properly trimmed to fit the openings, and in one of the doors the cut for hinges was wrong so they could not be installed. The company came promptly to recover the doors, brought them back 24 hours later, and installed them, offering only a $75 reduction in the initial price despite the fact that we had wasted $125 paying the other installers to be here unnecessarily.
Description of Work: ABS supplied, finished, attached the hardware and installed 2 solid core beech doors. Although the eventual result was satisfactory, the process was a comedy of errors from start to finish. It took two weeks for the company to fulfill a promise to send a measuring template for the doors. By that time we had decided it would be better to have them measure and install the doors, so as to avoid any possibility of mistakes. The measuring person/installer came to our house to measure the day after we asked for it, quickly sized up what we needed, and promised a quote within a few days. Two weeks later, we began to follow up and eventually we got the quote -- which turned out to be for 5 doors, not the two that we wanted. Initially we were told that our order had been lost in the move of the office.
