Air Seal Of Chicagoland

We replace four windows in my study when we moved to our current house back in April 2004. We did an online search and found Air Seal of Chicagoland. Air Seal?s BBB rating check out fine and Dick Ward was very professional on showing us the window he is selling: Sunrise Windows. The price was steep but we decided to install them. We were not home when the job was done (we have not move in yet) but everything looks fine and so we paid Air Seal and we thought that was it. In the summer of 2006 when we experienced heavy thunderstorm, my wife noticed the dry wall under the window was popping out and we discovered there was major leak under one of the window done by Air Seal. We called Air Seal and the person answered the phone said that the company has change ownership and they would not honor the warranty issued by previous owner. A day later, a guy from Air Seal called and said he can come to fix the leak for $90. Now, how does he know how much to charge before he even check out what is causing the leak. I was furious with the Air Seal?s poor workmanship and bad attitude toward customer service. I did my research on how to remove the siding around the window and then figure out where the leak was and patch the leak under the window myself. I like the Sunrise Windows and I think it is an excellent window but I will find someone else who take pride on their workmanship and customer service to install the windows. BTW, Air Seal of Chicagoland currently has F rating by BBB and I am not surprise at all.
