George and Vanessa were great. They didn't mind a lot of questions, and I had a lot as our driveway is close to the edge of our property line. Chose total paving because of the price and since they do their own brickwork, I did not have to contract out a brick company just to remove and replace the brick pavers on the edge of the driveway.

The estimator was right on time and very polite. He took the time to explain what the previous builder did wrong. The workmen were prompt, polite and completely cleaned up after they were done.

I will recommend total paving to everyone I know. There is true professionalism in everything from the administrative side to the workers installing the drive. Everything was completed in a timely manner. Estimate was right-on point. Great experience.

Total Paving And Brick Services did an amazing job on the work performed at my house. The owner George arrived at my house punctually for our planned time to complete an estimate. George was very professional, pleasant and very consultative with his feedback on the proposed work as I had a few ideas in mind of what I wanted done, which included him reworking the original estimate after I chose to postpone some additional brickwork (walkway/stoop & a few flower beds- all things they do too!) until next season. He did have some brick samples right in his truck. He easily rewrote the estimate for me and we agreed to have the work completed right away. After a 2 day job the following week, I had a beautiful new driveway with a 3rd car extension all surrounded by a sharp looking brick border. It has definitely increased the curb appeal of my home immediately and I have received multiple inquiries on who had completed the work. I highly recommend the professionals at Total Paving & Brick Services and the high quality finished product they deliver!

Went very well. Worked with the Village of Vernon Hills to inspect during the install. Had a issue this winter with the extreme cold (driveway lifted up) and they were very prompt in responding to my email. Would highly recommend.

Arrived on time for bid, followed thru as requested, performed an outstanding job on dig and replacement of our driveway. Very courteous and professional from beginning to end of project.

I ask for 2 seperate quotes for a drive way repair or replace, Repair option wasnt given, so I got it done else where.

The Total Paving crew showed up around noon on 9/13/13 removed the old driveway and concrete walkway, added a base of stone and gravel to the driveway and a base of sand to the walkway, compacted everything and laid down the asphalt and the paver ribbons finishing this part of the contracted job around 7:00 PM. On Saturday, 9/14/13 four crew members were at the house at 7:00 AM to start working on the stoop[ and walkway. They completed the job around 3:00PM. Total Paving did a GREAT job and I would recommed them to anyone who is looking for a new asphalt driveway on stone paver brick work. Richard Free

I discussed with George of Total Paving and he agreed to have the driveway paved on Friday 13 September 2013. When Friday, 13 September 2013 came around no one from the company called or showed up. They phoned me on Monday, 16 September 2013 and said they will be out on Tuesday, 17 September 2013 to do the job. I told them not to bother me again regarding this job because they could not trust them to do the job or show up for the job.

This took some time. First we discussed the details and options of the replacement. They provide a lot of references and we visited many of the drives they had installed near us. They broke out all of the costs so we could select the services we wanted. They also suggested that we visit a local company that provided pavers so we could get the correct color. Once everything was decided they scheduled the work, removed the current drive, added gravel and leveled it. The next day they added the brick. They we waited a few days and they laid the asphalt. Then a week later they sealed the brick The driveway is now level, very attractive and adds significantly to the value of our home.

I originally rated them a D since they cancelled the first appointment for estimating the cost of my asphalt driveway repair because no estimaters showed up on that Saturday; then they didn't show up fo the second appointment; and finally did show up for the 3rd appointment, but never received the estimate. In response to my review, George reached out to me personally to apologize and explained some issues they were dealing with in August. He then provided me with a competitive bid and I decided to go ahead and use their services. The quality of the actual work is great and the driveway looks good.

The job went really well and George (the owner) was great to talk through the process, answer my questions, etc... The crew was very good and did a great job on all aspects of the job. I highly recommend using them and getting a brick border as it really dresses up the asphalt and makes it look so much better. I chose them over another firm that just provided an estimate via Google Earth that I didn't trust since they didn't come out to look at the current situation, grade, etc... Total Paving was great, hauled away everything, cleaned everything up well and really knew what they were doing.

They are great. They were extremely accommodating, cleaned up each day, and gave me a number of options for my budget. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They did a great job. The sales person was very friendly and worked with us on the design. One of our neighbors used them and then a number of people in our neighbors used them as well. The only issue we had was that they did have to tear up part of the grass so we had to re-seed there.

The service turned out really well. They made a recommendation which caused a slight delay that worked out really well. We have had no problems with the driveway. The only complaint I had is that they left the garage door open during the project.

Total Paving did a great job! On the first day, they arrived with a full crew and all the equipment to prepare the site, grade and compact the stone base. Once that was complete, they began to lay the brick paver border. The first day they completed about 80% of the brick border. Day 2 was a Saturday, so they had a smaller crew, including Trino (one of the owners and very experienced), and laid a 25 x 18 paver landing and a smaller 6 x 8 landing between the driveway and the front steps. Day 3 (Monday) they returned, finished up the brick work and then alsphalted the remainder. They did return on two separate occassions to complete several small items such as final clean-up and sanding the brick. We are overjoyed with the results- the driveway really sets the property off. Several other comments: * Our initial experience with Total Paving was with their Project Manager, George Lazoda. He helped us scope out the job and provided several different proposals and iterations. All were done promptly and with a smile. George was a pleasure to work with- always helpful and responsive. Since this is the individual that serves as the initial "face of the company", he represented his company well and made us feel very confident in our choice of using Total Paving for this job. * The other individual that stood out was Trino, one of the owners and job site Foreman. I was impressed with Trino's abilities on their equipment (especially using the Bobcat). I was equally impressed and thankful in his brick laying experience. We had chosen one laying pattern, but once on-site, he recommended a different one that he felt would look better with our particular property. Although I can't say with surety that the original pattern would not also have looked good, the results of the pattern he suggested are tremendous. We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. * The rest of the crew also deserves commendation. They represented their company well. They worked extremely hard (even though it was extremely hot the days this work was done) and everyone of them was professional and treated our homesite with respect. They cleaned-up at the end of each day and left the property looking as good if not better than the way they found it. The only difficulty is that most of the crew did not speak very good English, so at times it was difficult to communicate. (There was always somebody on the job that did speak English though.) The job turned out looking great and, I believe, was installed well so that it will hold up against time for many years to come. We would gladly recommend them to anyone considering paving or brick work, and especially to someone that is looking, like we were, to combine these two into one- I think this is one of the real specialties of Total Paving as they can do it all with the same installation crew, as opposed to having to subcontract parts of it out. If I had any area that I could suggest improvement in, and this is really very minor because we are completely satisfied, it would be with the backgrading of dirt on the side of the drive. They backfilled (or back graded) just enough to cover their work and pitch away from the edge. There are some areas though that require more backfilling and a more gentle pitch back into the yard.

It was amazing from the time they showed up. All the right equipment and a large force of professional workers that got right to it and didn?t? stop. By the end of day one, the new curve drive was dug and all the base stone was in place. By the end of day two, the drive was paved and all brick in place. They came back on day three for a few hours to finish cleaning up and back-filling the dirt along the edges. These guys know what they are doing. The brick work from the house to the drive is amazing and exceeded what I asked for.

As an interior Designer, I have worked with several contractors. I called many contractors when I wanted to begin a large project for a new patio, walkways, and front stoop to our home. As I have learned in the past, when I begin to obtain bids, the initial phone call to a company is a very good indication of how they run their business. Some companies let an answering machine take their calls, others set up estimates to come out sometimes several days after you've called and still others show up late or don't come at all. I found Total Paving & Brick through my own research, and they were one of 6 contractors I called to come out and bid on our project. When I called, George immediately answered the phone, and to my surprise was willing to fit me in between other appointments that very same day! Immediately I was given a great impression of their willingness, determination, and flexibility to provide superior customer service. George showed up on time, with an armful of samples and a smile on his face. After we discussed the scope of the project, he went to his vehicle and came back with a proposal within 20 minutes! Again I was impressed! He was organized, knowledgeable and confident about their ability to do the job and within the time frame I wanted. I wasn't put off for a month or two, or even weeks, in fact I was called to ask if they could start one day early, as they completed another project ahead of schedule. Trino and his crew were nothing but professional, courteous, hard-working and completely knowledgeable about their craft. They are artisans and I highly recommend asking them for their suggestions, design ideas and input. George stopped by the site several times to check in and see if I was happy and how the project was moving along. Eric, another estimator stopped by to introduce himself and oversee the project. My neighbor is a successful architect and more than a few times, he came over to tell me, "these guys know what they are doing, and they are doing a great job!" I cannot say enough positive things about this company, except that their prices are more than reasonable, for the quality of their work, the integrity of their character, and the expertise of each and every crew member that worked from morning til night to get the job done! There are too many companies out there resting on their laurels, overcharging for jobs, and incapable of understanding that EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND QUALITY WORK AT FAIR PRICES IS STILL A VALUED TREASURE AND AN INVESTMENT TO ANY HOME PROJECT! Overall, we are satisfied. The driveway looks good, and the sidewalk and stoop turned out great. The issues that we had were that we asked them to replace the gravel on a parking space, but they put in sand instead, which made it a muddy mess, and they tore up the grass in between our fence and the street, which we don't know why happened and was certainly not part of the scope of work. Many calls later, both items were handled. They finally put in additional gravel, and they brought in topsoil for the torn up grass, though we are having to seed and water it ourselves.
