I only got a quote for resurfacing the driveway for $2,400 from Oscar. However this was about the same price I was getting for a full replacement from other vendors. When I asked about this, he told me their minimum was $2,400, but to do a replacement, the total would be $2,500 (without apron) - still the highest of the bunch, but just a poor way of doing business. If replacement was the same price, why quote resurfacing other than to be a shady business.

My driveway was in poor shape and a small part of it had been removed to install a drainage system. Total Paving came out to discuss the project and my concerns about landscaping and an adjacent fence. Because it was the end of summer, they were not able to install the driveway for several months. But they kept to the schedule. They removed the driveway and installed the new driveway as described. They finished on schedule. However, they left a large amount of debris along the fence in a narrow planting bed. I called to ask them to return to clean up the junk asphalt, as I had no way to dispose of it. (It is illegal to put construction material in residential trash.) They said they would have someone remove the debris, but they never did. I ultimately had to pay my landscaping company to clean up and dispose of the debris. The driveway has a slightly wavy surface in one area. It is minor, but I'm sure this is where the driveway will start to fail. Because of these two problems, I will not use them in the future.

Did the asphalt. When it had cured there was a big indentation in the driveway that could be seen clearly after it rained. They came back once to fix it but there was still an indentation. In a place that was walked and driven over daily. George came by and first insisted there was no problem.Then he's said it couldn't be fixed.Quite a lot of money to spend on a driveway that was not done well.

Oscar came out in the spring and spent about an hour measuring, discussing options and then preparing the estimate. One thing I loved was that Oscar sat in his car with his iPad and had 2 quotes ready that day which we reviewed. He instantly e-mailed me the quotes with the 2 options and pictures, which were edited to show the proposed changes. Loved the instant quote! We had two contractors provide estimates and the other 'big' company did not want to take the job as they were worried about the drainage of our driveway. Oscar had no worries and told us the drainage problem could be fixed and the new driveway would have an event better pitch. We have had several heavy rains since install and, to his word, Oscar was correct. Our old drainage issues were gone and the water puddling has been solved. Oscar pitched the driveway towards our backyard which has a rock river to carry away the water. The work was quickly done over 3 days, which is probably longer than most due to the pavers. Oscar understood my with to expand a few small parts of the driveway in order to fit in a basketball court! (See pic.)

It turned out very well. We are very happy. They were punctual and there were no issues with their service. I would highly recommend them.

Was concerned that it was too cold to lay the driveway in late November but we were assured by Oscar that everything would be fine. During the the colder months the driveway raised and crumbled at both ends and crumbling was also noted on the sides and several areas near the top of the driveway. Left a message in February and did not receive a response until we called again in March. Oscar came out and said would be better when Seal Coated but would be back out May 14th to evaluate the driveway and was told they would take care of any problems. Oscar was a no show in May and again several messages were left with Vanessa and George that were unanswered. After numerous phone calls George did come out and evaluate the driveway and again confirmed that the driveway should be Seal Coated. First coating was performed 6/28/15 and multiple areas over the entire driveway were missed. Several message were left with George with no response, contacted Vanessa and she said she would get the message to him. Took another call to Vanessa stating how disappointed we were with the process from the very beginning. After this call George did come out to inspect the driveway and agreed the coating should be touched up. While the workers were here on 7/28 we received a call from George stating that the areas touched up would be darker in color but all would be evened out next year with the second Seal Coat or we could pay for a second coat this year. Not quite sure why we would pay for an additional Seal Coat when the first one was not placed correctly. The touch up was completed and we now have a driveway that is black with the original seal and the touched up areas are lighter grey.

GREAT job! I was very happy with the results! The original contact - get a quote went seamlessly - estimator came out right away, provided the quote immediately. Great follow-up on scheduling. The work itself was done promptly and very well - much attention to detail. we widened the driveway by about 2' and that took extra work. Guys used a line to make sure it was straight. Very superb work! Only hassle was some back and forth on scheduling the actual job - but given it's the busy summer season that's understandable. VERY good work!

The job Total Paving did was terrific, couldn't have asked for more. Oscar came out to give us an estimate (as well as some ideas) and the work was done in mid-July in just a few days. The guys were very professional and careful and the result is exactly what we wanted...has given the front of our house a totally new and improved look. We would highly recommend them.

Our experience with Total Paving was great. First, I liked that they sent someone out to meet with me before providing a quote. I was surprised at how many companies don't do this. I don't know how someone can understand your needs if they just stop by when you're not home to walk the site with them and answer your questions. Oscar provided a thorough quote with pictures to help visualize his understanding of our needs. The hardest part was waiting for our scheduled service date since they were already booked out 6-7 weeks, but once our quoted date arrived, the tear-out crew showed up as promised. They worked efficiently and cleaned up after they left. They listened to our concerns and made modifications as needed. Two days later the installation crew came and fixed some brick pavers that had been disturbed from a previous drainage issue. They reinstalled them to complete an existing walkway and the work is seamless. The finished asphalt driveway also looks great. We're very pleased overall. How we chose Total Paving: We called four companies, only received three quotes, and Total Paving's pricing was the most competitive, most detailed quote, as well as the most recommended, so it was a no brainer!

We had a great experience with them. They did a terrific job. Our driveway was in bad shape. They got it done while we left on vacation. We left with a crummy driveway and came back to a spectacular driveway. They gave me a fair quote and I got a discount. They were able to accommodate our schedule. We came back to this beautiful driveway with everything done very neatly. It improves the appearance of the house tremendously. I contacted them recently to come and do some more work for them. I have no complaints.

Not responsive to request for estimate for new business.

Total Paving paved our driveway on April 22. While doing the paving their vibrating compactor driver drove into and around our concrete garage floor multiple times and parked it while running in the garage. After about 10 minutes I ask him to move it out of the garage due to the smell of the exhaust. Since we couldn?t walk or drive on the driveway for 48 hours and the garage was closed, I didn?t see the floor until Saturday April 25 when I saw the multiple cracks and pits up to 0.5 in deep in our garage floor. The floor did have 2 cracks before the paving, but now has over 10 new cracks plus many more deep pits. I called Total Paving on Monday April 27 and left a message for Maria the supervisor who called me back and came out to see the floor on May 1. She said Total Paving could patch the cracks and pits , but all the repairs would show. She asked me to pay the second half their bill and hold back $500 until the repairs were made. I said I would hold back $1000 which I did. After getting two concrete repair estimates to fix the floor, one of which was $4500 which I ruled out and the other that was $2493, I called Maria on May 20 and informed her of the estimates. She said they would not pay the $2493, but agreed to reduce my payment by $400 and I could take care of the repairs myself. I said that I believed they should at least pay half of the $2493, but she said they could reduce by bill by $500. Since this was their final offer I said I would pay them all but $500 of what I owed, which I did. The garage floor will be repaired and sealed on June 15 at a cost of $2493. I feel that the vibrating roller should not have been driven on our garage floor, even though Maria said that was common practice. I believe that a more fair settlement should have been made by Total Paving. I must say that I was very pleased with the driveway paving and would rate the paving highly, but the property damage was not acceptable.

When Oscar came out to discuss what we wanted to have done he was punctual, professional and friendly. He was quick with a proposal and said they could start the work soon. However, as we tried to scale the project back once it became clear that the "new" driveway would be over 2" higher than our patio, yard, etc causing a whole bunch of new problems it wasn't so easy to get a hold of Oscar anymore. When I finally heard from him via email, Oscar told me they only had interest if we did the whole $8k job and it wouldn't be worth it t them if it was $3-4k. I guess it must be nice to be in such a position where you wont take jobs unless they're $5,000 or more, but it would've been great to know that ahead of time so I couldve saved myself a lot of energy and inconvenience.

Requested an estimate back in 2014. Due to a family death could not proceed with project in 2014. Contacted company directly via email to the original sales representative. He initially responded on March 29th, 2015. I immediately responded to his email and answered his questions. Today is April 13th, 2015. No response. I will be doing this project with someone else. If the initial sales process takes this long then the actual project may be a major issue. I am in sales and I immediately respond to my clients.

Total Pavement was a joy to work with. They did a fantastic job and were so responsive to our needs and time table.

I was originally scheduled for tear out on Wednesday the 17th of Sept. Schedule was changed at the last minute to Thursday the 18th. When the tear out crew came, they were very efficient and tore out the old driveway including a 2 ft. concrete apron in rapid time with no damage to the surrounding area. Friday morning the 19th, the installation crew showed at 8am as promised. The job they did was excellent, and in minimal time. One very impressive factor is that they cleaned up any asphalt marks on the concrete sidewalk at the bottom of the driveway. Everyone involved from Oscar to the crew foremen were polite and talked with confidence. I am totally satisfied with the experience. The job was done at the original agreed price One thing, communication between the office and myself could have been better. But in the scope of things, that was a minor detail. I would definitely recommend Total Paving for any asphalt needs.

We had a few quotes, but no other company took the time like total paving to map out how we wanted the new driveway. We had a set appointment, they were on time and prompt. They did an amazing job, and I would highly recommend them.

We called three contractors for bids. Two came to the house, introduced themselves, walked the driveway and left. only one of the two submitted a bid. Oscar from Total Paving came to the house spending about an hour + talking about the project. making recommendations and going over brick samples for the front walk. He discussed the materials to be used as well as changes that would make a better driveway as well as more visually pleasing drive way and walk way. When we received the bid he included photographs showing the outline of the new driveway and the work to be done. The bid was competitive with the other bid we received, but included more asphalt, in depth, and other work including the walkway. Work actually proceeded a week earlier than scheduled and was done in a professional manner. The foreman keep in constant touch with us during the work. After completion the yard was completely cleaned of debris. Except for the new driveway and walk there was no indication any work had been done. Outstanding work, extremely professional. Highly recommend Total Paving. Would absolutely without question use them again.

Oscar was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions during the estimate. He suggested widening the drive about a foot to better accommodate two cars side-by-side. SOOO glad I did. Vanessa kept me informed about the schedule and replied to any emails in timely manner. The driveway looks awesome. Very pleased with the cost and work.

It looks great until several cracks appears this month. They have 1 year warranty on the job. So they send someone to seal coating. But the cracks still looks obvious. I am very upset about the cracks as I spend $2K last year. I didn't expect to see cracks this soon. I hope they will fix this problem. I will update my review if they do.

We had Total Paving take out and replace and widen our driveway. I had a strange request in the shape and they worked with me and made excellent suggestions, whereas other companies that came out for estimates just said that it would look bad and put down the idea. They came early to go over the shape with me and made sure it was laid out correctly and they did an excellent job! It turned out exactly as I wanted and looks great! Everyone there is very professional and friendly from estimator, to office staff, to pavers. I would very highly recommend them.

They were excellent and fabulous. It was a good price, good work and they were very well organized. I would absolutely use them again.

We used Total Paving and Brick for a "neighborhood" driveway project. A total of five households within one block coordinated to get asphalt driveways replaced, with four of the five also doing some form of a paver project as well. I spearheaded the project and contacted three A rated companies on Angie's List. We asked for individual pricing for each house but would be making a decision based on overall billing (asphalt only.) All three came out and gave us their best bids, though only Total Paving did its own paver work. In terms of follow-up, Total Paving was light years ahead of its competitors. Oscar @ Total Paving was fantastic- he was very good about making sure we understood the details of the bids and was great at helping me coordinate all five houses. Follow up from the other two companies consisted of a single letter received weeks later. Once the decision was made to go with Total Paving, again Oscar was great in working with the individual homeowners to make sure everyone was getting the necessary individual attention needed for the paver projects (TPB was also lowest bidder on those for two houses.) I also asked him to take over the permit process with our Village, which allowed us to coordinate the work for all five houses simultaneously and keep costs down. The office personnel- Vanessa and Maria- were also great with helping us coordinate and were very quick to respond to questions or last minute needs. Once the date of the project arrived, the team arrived promptly at eight and went to work. The work was done quickly and proficiently and after day one all asphalt had been removed and most of the pavers set. The whole project was wrapped up within three days and everyone was very pleased with the finished product. In fact, another group in our neighborhood is working with TPB to do a similar project. Follow-up from the company has been great too- Oscar has been back twice to make sure everyone is pleased and that any small touch-ups have been made. We would all highly recommend this company.

Some companies disappoint you and won't fix a problem. Total Paving did a beautiful job paving my driveway, but the very next day a hard rain showed where there was a problem with how they had set the drainage. After stopping by to see the problem, George sent a team to install a drain at the problem site and route the water directly into the storm drain. Anyone can make a mistake, but not every company goes the extra mile to make it right when it happens. I was disappointed, but now I'm a fan of Total Paving.
