Disappointed with Incomplete Work and Lack of Communication I am currently facing difficulties in getting the Lagod team to complete the punch list items for my recent project. I've been trying to reach out to Stan Lagod for over 8 months, but unfortunately, my attempts have been unsuccessful. While I have had positive experiences with his team in the past, this time, the work was left incomplete. It is disheartening to share my disappointment and caution others about my experience. One of the main issues I encountered was the lack of open communication. Instead of engaging in a conversation, Stan seemed to choose arguments and then completely ignored my phone calls and text messages. This unresponsive behavior only added to the frustration and made it challenging to resolve the outstanding concerns. I must admit, I am genuinely saddened by this experience, as I had previously used Stan Lagod for several other projects and had positive outcomes. However, this recent project has left me dissatisfied and concerned. I hope that Stan Lagod and his team take this feedback constructively and address the issues promptly. As a customer who has been let down, I felt it necessary to share my experience, so others can be cautious when considering their services.
Description of Work: Full gut and remodel of my home.

In the beginning, things went fine. We had a few frustrations along the way. For example, Stan told me to go out and by plumbing, which I did. Turns out I bought 3/4 inch products and my piping was 1/2 inch. Stan knew that I was relying on him for guidance (why would I know about 1/2 in vs. 3/4 in). He wanted me to return and rebuy 1/2 in plumbing. I had purchased this online and returning wasn't an option. Once that was resolved, things moved fairly smoothly throughout the remodeling process. The work was completed timely and I was fairly satisfied at the time. There were a few things that I questioned (a bit of water would build up outside the shower and I wasn't sure the floor of the shower was pitched properly since water would accumulated at the bottom of the shower - both of which I was assured by Lagod was normal). I trusted, however, that Lagod had reviewed the work done and was satisfied that this work was completed properly and wouldn't lead to problems down the road. Fast forward 6 months: I started seeing water stains on my living room ceiling, which is just below the bathroom. I called Stan back and he came and told me it was due to the toilet seal. He replaced the seal for me. Problem solved, right? Not exactly. Fast forward 18 months: the ceiling starts leaking. Light at first, but then gets heavier. Happens right after a shower is taken. My daughter began showering on a daily basis, so often there were two showers back to back. I called Stan once again, assuming he would stand behind his work. The first time we had a time scheduled, he didn't show up - when I called he told me he was stuck on a job in Michigain. He did eventually come and looked at it and again claimed it was the toilet seal (says he sees it all the time). I tried explaining that this only happened after a shower, but he wouldn't acknowledge that it could be a shower issue and essentially said it wasn't his issue since it had been too long since the work had been done. The leak continues to get worse. I call a plumber who confirms this is a shower issue and we find out that the plumbing hardware was never attached to the wall properly and there were gaps between the hardware and the tile - an easy place for water to enter. I had this repaired. The leak continues. I have a hole cut in the ceiling to see if I can find the source of the leak. Turns out the entire shower was not caulked properly and there are gaps all over the shower and areas that weren't grouted properly. With a single shower, the water would be absorbed by the wood inside the wall. Now that there are two showers happening, the water makes its way through the ceiling below. I have now spent an additional $1,000+ trying to get this repaired and it is still not fixed. I decided to give Lagod one more chance to stand by their work. I even indicated that I would post a review here based on how they handled it (including positive feedback had they been willing to fix the problem). They seemed eager to resolve the problem. I scheduled them to come out on a Friday - that morning I get a call that they cannot make it as they are on a job in Indiana. Super frustrated, but I decided to reschedule for the following Monday at 4:00. At 1:00 on Monday, a call comes in that they are "sick" and aren't going to be able to make it. At that point, I realized that they weren't interested in resolving this with me and felt no choice but to let others know what could happen if they work with Lagod. UPDATE: had a different contractor come to assess the situation. He opened the wall up and found MOLD behind the wall. He also indicated that durrock was not used in all places and a liner was not put in below the bench. There were two areas that were leaking. I had to remove tiles, replace wood, replace drywall have the bench repaired and the mold removed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - TAKES SHORTCUTS!!!
Description of Work: I hired Lagod, who was referred by a friend, to provide the labor for two bathroom remodeling jobs. This was essentially cosmetic and updating, although one bathtub was removed and replaced with a shower. This involved, plumbing, electrical, tile work, toilet installation, cabinet installation, etc. I chose Stan partially due to price (he was the middle of three quotes I received) and because he promises a "one stop shop" experience.
