+ 0 moreI used this lawn service for over 10 years. They did a good job of cutting my lawn, however, they were a little over-priced. My frustration with them came to a boiling point when I called them about trimming my bushes. I left a message on their answering machine but they never called me back. This wouldn't be so bad except that this is about the 3rd or 4th year that this has happened to me. Why do they bother having an answering machine if they are not going to listen and respond to the messages? Very unprofessional I think. I finally got fed up and terminated their services.

Description of Work: Walt called me back and sounded as if he was frustrated to be at work, I have never had anyone who represents a business to sound as if they should take about a year away from work. He sounded dejected and very unprofessional when he said that they had too much business already and was not taking on any new jobs. Oh my God, what would other companies do to have that problem, hint, HIRE MORE STAFF AND TAKE A CLASS IN TELEPHONE PROFESSIONALISM. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The Angie's List commercials are beginning to sound faked.

+ -1 moreGreat service, I contaced Walts in late April through email using the Angie's List link and was quickly qouted $35 for weekly lawn service. I thought the price was fair and asked him to start around Mid May on Fridays if possible. He was booked on Fridays but was able to squeeze me in on Thursdays. They have cut my lawn twice now and I am quite happy with the service. They do a great job and are in and out in no time.
Description of Work: Weekly lawn service which includes; cutting the grass weed whacking as needed and blowing any debris off the driveway.

+ -1 moreSee above for previous review - I am editing it now since the day I wrote that review, Walt called me afterwards and offered to send someone out that same day. Our lawn was in desperate need so I agreed. As he promised, they were there same day at the time he estimated to me on the phone. They did a good job, they mowed, edged and weed-wacked the front, side and back yard. It looks nice and they even blew away any clippings from our sidewalk and the neighbor's driveway (which is right next to our sidewalk). No complaints on the work done at all.
Description of Work: Previous review- No services preformed, he never showed up. We recently bought a house, moving from a condo we have no lawn mower. We figured we would have it done in the mean time. I looked up people in our area on Angie's list and found Walt's. I gave him a call and had to leave a message. He called me back the next day and I filled him in on our situation. He said he would stop by for an estimate either that day or the next. I had my boyfriend on the look out since he was home both days. He said no one ever stopped by, I have never received a quote or even a phone call back. I called him again and it went to voice mail again, I was too mad to even bother to leave a message. I figure there are many lawn care services in the area, I'll move on to one a little more professional.

I let this sit for a couple of weeks before making a decision and called Walt to let him know I wanted to use his services. It took several days for him to get back to me, but the work was completed right away. My only complaint was on the cleanup. There were some clippings left lying around from trimming the bushes and trees, but not enough for me to call him back to clean up.Would hire again.

Description of Work: i provided this for my 78 yr old mom who lives in worth. her service guy for the last few yrs went out of business. still to early to have an opinion. hes done some work, but my mom cant ever get him to return phone calls. shes 78,but still works 40 hours a week. she also doesnt have an answering machine or voicemail so that might be part of the problem. her neighbor also took his service. as far as i know, she tried to contact him only once,and he answered the phone right away. maybe my mom and him just keep missing each other. however,she has put in quite a few phone call trys at the beginning,without any sucess. will report back when theres more to report about. hes fretilized,and cut her grass and performed a little clean up.

+ -1 morecalled for a spring cleanup on a saturday - was told he would stop by on Monday. man I spoke with was very nice but unfortunately they never showed, never called. i suspect it was due to the job not being big enough but I would have appreciated a follow up call. disappointed as I am looking to find a good local company to do additional work but wanted to start with something small to get a comfort level.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with the bush trimming. They did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Although they were supposed to come in June, they did not come until July but the weather was uncooperative this spring and early summer. I was also pleased with the outcome of the second job, but it wound up costing more than anticipated. Although I was given a quote on the phone, I believe I misunderstood it. I never met with Walt in person, just dealt with him on the phone, and never asked for a written estimate. If you deal with this company, I would insist on a written estimate. In terms of the quality of the work, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Description of Work: Walt's did 2 jobs for me: they trimmed all the bushes in the yard; and they removed a dead hedge, replaced it with 3 bushes and some perennials and replaced a few strips of sod along the driveway.

+ 1 moreThey do a wonderful job, they are the greatest. They are extremely reliable. He's a good guy and his men are very, very good. I can depend on him, they do a great job. It's a very good deal and I've paid $145 each month from the very beginning. They did a beautiful job replacing the lawn and they put in the retaining wall and those services were extra. It was very reasonable. They came and got it done. I came home one day from work and all the grass is gone, then I came home another day and all the grass was down, they work fast. I have had a lot of luck with them.
Description of Work: Walt's Lawn Service is my lawn man and I've had them for years. They come weekly and do a beautiful job of trimming all the trees and bushes. They mow the lawn each week and they usually will trim the bushes once or twice a season and they fertilize. They planted a bush one time and they replaced my whole lawn once because I let it burn up. I use them every year during the season.

Description of Work: They cut my grass once a week, trim my bushes once a year and in the fall they trim my trees. They have done brickwork around my trees as well as mulch. They have done various landscaping as well.
