Their faulty installation of something as basic as a downspout on my house caused flooding in my basement. Mr. Lang came out and blamed my house and me for his subpar work! He left my house that day and never got back to me displaying a complete lack of integrity. The workmanship guarantee on his contract means NOTHING! I filed a claim with his liability insurer, Auto Owners, and got resolution that way. Mr. Lang wouldn't accept responsibility, but his liability insurer, and the forensic engineer they sent to my house to investigate, saw the problem and I was compensated for the damages caused by his careless work.

When removing the old shingles they threw them off the roof in every direction into the yard. I voiced concerns to the supervisor about the nails in the yard and he assured me he would personally supervise the clean up on the last day. When they finished the job and left I found hundreds of nails EVERYWHERE. In the yard, in the landscaping, in the driveway, in the street. As if this wasn't bad enough I had to pick up 20 cigarette butts the workers left in the yard as well. Every day I'm finding more nails and the kids cannot play in the yard. I wish I could include pictures.

The work was completed in a timely manner and, more importantly, seemed to fix the problem. I am very pleased with Lang Exteriors as other companies came out to address the problem, but claimed to not have a solution. There is absolutely no evidence that the leak is continuing. Thank you!!

It went exactly as we had agreed upon: on time, well done with excellent workmanship, exactly in accordance with the contract we signed in advance, and with a careful and complete cleanup when the project was finished.

Called for information on a roof estimate, and the guy starts grilling me about my insurance and starts arguing with me about how I should just file a claim with my insurance. All I wanted was a price for a roof inspection, that's it....Unprofessional and argumentative, would never hire or recommend...

They came right out the next day. He came out and took a look at it and he couldn't really see where my leak was. He saw a couple of possible places, but anyways he took care of those. He was just so nice, the guy that came out. His name was Dan Artus. I hadn't had another leak. Their responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism were all excellent.

He's a great guy! He always gets back to me right away, and I'm having him do some additional work on an attic fan.

This is an update of my review from last year. I am so disappointed and disgusted with this service provider. Lang replaced our roof and siding in Oct of 2015. The North side of the house began to show problems within a few weeks of the siding install. The siding (LP) began to bow away from the house and most of the siding looked wavy. We contacted Lang 12/16/15 about the problem and he said he would be out 12/18/16 and was a no call no show. His crew showed up unannounced on 12/19/16 and re-nailed the siding that bowed and told us it was fine. On 12/21/16 we noticed the siding looked wavy again and contacted Lang. We were concerned ice and water had got behind the siding and damaged it. Lang said he would be out 12/23/16 and was a no call no show. We contacted him in Jan 2016 and were told he was on vacation and would be out when he returned. We did not see him again until March 2016 after we called again. He claimed it was product failure and would only replace 6 of the boards. I had requested that the entire north side be replaced and Lang said it was unnecessary. When his installer came out he got into a verbal argument with my husband and told us he could replace the boards but it was going to look exactly the same because we basically put paper on our house. A new crew was sent out and the six boards replaced. Lang and the new installer told us that for every 4 nails only 1 actually hit a stud on the original install. It was not product failure it was a bad install. We contacted Lang 10/10/16 and sent photos showing the siding still looks wavy. He said he would be out to look at it and to date has not called or shown up. This is in addition to the fact when they wrapped our porch posts they were crooked and never told us there was a problem during the install and when we pointed it out they told us there was nothing they could do about it. However, my husband was able to fix the problem. The entire situation is completely unacceptable and I would NOT recommend this service provider!!!!! We should not have to chase this service provider down and repeatedly ask to have this made right.

Our Sales Rep. Dustin, was extremely thorough when quoting the job. He had many samples to choose from, than any other company. The color he suggested was spot on. The pricing was accurate and to quote without any overruns. The installers John & Mike were prompt, courteous, incredibly articulate in their skills taking no shortcuts and correcting previous problems created by other installers. The owner Bill and Dustin came by every day during the installation, to see how things were going and to answer questions or to see if we had any concerns. Clean up was done daily by John, Mike, Tristan and Jim. All in all, I would highly recommend Lang Home Exteriors to family and friends. Would certainly hire again.

Dan was wonderful to work with. He came out right away to give me an estimate. The work on the freeze board and skylights was excellent. We had a slight problem with the aluminum flashing caulk being too thick but it was resolved and communication with Dan was excellent. I would highly recommend this company.

Bill reached out to me the same day I emailed him on Angie's list. He came out, as promised, within a few days to meet me at the house to discuss the leak at length. He came back to scale the roof to inspect the issue, promptly. He then followed up by phone and came out within (2) days to do the repair work. Great experience all around! Would highly recommend.

Bill bought a full crew to my house. They went to work quickly. They installed tarps over bushes and board over my a/c unit. Everything in the installation went smooth. However they were contracted to reinstall the roof antenna & that never happened. Several areas of siding in the rear of the house have oil-tar marks staining my light colored siding. And two sections of siding are cracked. After the final clean up. Bill said when the dumpster was picked up the following day. Someone would come and sweep the driveway & then roll the magnet over the entire exterior grass area of the house. That never happened. I came home from work on that monday and swept the driveway myself. Through the next few weeks we had four flat tires tires in our vehicles from large tacks.

It was a pleasure working with Bill Lang. He was very responsive and patient with us while we selected the new colors for our siding and gutters. His workmen were careful around the plants and outside lighting. They were courteous and keep the installation schedule even with all the rain we had been experiencing. The quality of their work was very good. They also did a very good job with cleanup each evening and upon completion of the job. There is only area where I could suggest improvement. Even though they ran magnets to pick up errant nails, we still found a few here and there in the grass and in the driveway. We used my metal detector to find most of these so we had an advantage in our search.

They did great- Top notch service! I would highly recommend them to anyone. The owner of the company is a hands- on person, he does a great job of explaining everything, he double checks the job, and is pleasure to work with.

I wish it had went...still waiting, no call since 05/05, oh yea, I'm the one who has to call and ask if and when I'm on the schedule. UPDATE Dan and Bill came through for me with a little more prodding than I hoped to get on their schedule and get the job done. The work done ended up very well with great workmanship and cleanup. They were right on time once we scheduled. Bill said they will work on communication a bit better in the future. I plan on using them again if their bid is acceptable.

We signed the contract in early September 2014 with the understanding they would start in 4 weeks. I called Dan many times to see when they were going to install the new roof. We did have several periods of rain that delayed things. We picked out the shingle color on October 18, 2014. They started on November 5, 2014 and finished November 8. Unfortunately, they delivered the wrong shingles and had 2 portions of the roof done when the mistake was noticed. They made good on their mistake and removed the shingles and installed the correct ones. They did a good job installing the new roof. We were disappointed in the removal of the old roof. They didn't protect the landscaping and the cedar siding very well. We had a bush that was covered with a tarp, but was totally flattened by the weight of the old roofing, breaking the main branches of the bush. Others were damaged, but survived ok. Several window screens were damaged by falling debris. In all fairness, I found the 27 year old screens were very brittle when I replaced them. We have an arbor with a bench seat in it that was dented and nicked in several places and with many tar smears from the falling shingles. I had to straighten 2 light fixtures that were bent by falling debris. There are several scratches in the cedar siding from the nails in the falling shingles and from ladders. I spent the better part of a day picking up nails and small debris from the roof removal. I probably filled 2 large coffee cans of mostly nails. When Dan came over for the final payment I showed him all the damage and also showed him a mistake in the drip edge installation on one of the gable ends. There is also another drip edge that hangs out about 2 inches from the roof. This should be cut back. He did take off a reasonable amount for all the damage and said they would come back next spring to correct the problems. They were also supposed to install new seamless gutters on the house. Weather wasn't supposed to be a big deterrent for the gutters. So far it is May 8, 2015 and we have not heard from them. Lang Home Exteriors was recommended to me by a friend at work and they had good reviews on Angie's List. So we were rather disappointed in the lack of care they took in protecting our property.

The new siding and gutters look great. The installers did an excellent job .I liked Bill's suggestions about the quality of product he was going to install. The vinyl siding was thicker and stronger(less seems), the insulation behind siding was 50% thicker, the gutters and downspouts were larger than I previously had and he wrapped the house in Tyvek house wrap(not off brand). All of these suggestions and his price was right there with another A rated Angies list provider. The other A rated local provider quote did not include the same quality of product though the price was similar. I highly recommend Lang Home Exteriors.

Work was done and paid for in April 2014, but the roof power vent fan was never connect to electric outlet. On 9/5/2014 ceiling in room below roofing work by Lang began to leak causing ceiling in room to crack and fall. I called Bill of Lang Home Exteriors, informing him of the situation and asked him to come out or send someone out to access and repair the problem that his company had guaranteed the work for 5(five) years. He finally sent someone out (the same person who originally came out to look, give estimate and guarantee that the work would be done efficiently and effectively w/5year guarantee). They came out and said that the damage was not due to their work (but it was the same area that they "supposedly" repaired back in April). They refused to accept responsibility and ignored their 5year warranty on their work. Therefore, I am filing this complaint against lang Home Exteriors. They did lousy work, did not stand-by their guaranteed warranty, refused to accept responsibilty for shoddy work (taking advantage of a senior citizen). Refused to refund money; refused to repair work that they guaranteed.
