I really can't say enough good things about my experience with this company. Sam was fantastic. He offered great suggestions and listened to, and promptly addressed, an concerns. He truly went above and beyond. The value compared to other quotes was extremely competitive. The work started well before we were initially told it would be and was completed promptly. Sam came out to give a quote right away. Once the work started, the crew was always here when it was supposed to be; we never had to call and ask. An overall great experience and I fully recommend Northscape Enterprises.

Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. The weekly services were ok (mowing, edging) but this past season they botched a seed job twice, forgot to aerate and were totally non-responsive to my calls to address the above issues. Not to mention they arbitrarily, without notice, tacked on a fuel surcharge. The fuel surcharge would have been understandable given the severe gas prices last summer, but Northscape's lack of professionalism and advance notice in assessing the charge was unacceptable. Their pricing was reasonable, but if you're looking for quality landscaping services go elsewhere.

Billing Errors, Breach of Contract, Rude Behavior. They performed a fall cleanup last year without having requested one, and then billed me. When I told them that I never requested one, they alleged that they called and that my [non-existent] wife requested it over the phone. Next, they breached their contract by adding "gasoline surcharges" after providing a fixed-price contract apparently because gas prices have risen. Finally, I had signed up for trimming, that was promised on specific months. They charged me for trimming they didn't perform, (two months after it was to be performed,) and then when I notified them, they came out and performed the work. They trimmed everything but a large tall hedge. When I called Rosemary at Northscape to ask them to come trim it, she called me back and told me that they don't have insurance for such a tall hedge. I asked her what she would like to do about it, since this hedge wasn't excluded in the contract. Finally she began yelling and swearing at me.

The company left a flyer at our home offering to provide a "spring cleanup". They came out within days and gave an estimate and a contract, which we signed and faxed back on 4/8. When they had not come to do the work after two weeks, we called, and were told that we were on the list, and would receive the services soon. On 4/30, three weeks after we submitted the contract, we were told we would have the work done on one of the next two days, barring poor weather. The weather was fine, but they did not come. On 5/2, we called, complaining about this, and were told that they would come the following Monday or Tuesday, barring poor weather. There was some rain on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, but Sunday was clear. They did not show on Monday or Tuesday. Today, 5/7, we called again, and had a heated discussion about this, at which point we were told we were at the bottom of the list, and could not be seen until the following Monday at the soonest. When I asked how we could possibly go from being promised a visit on 5/2 (barring weather that did not occur), to being told we might be seen on 5/12. They had no real answer, then, stating that we were clearly not going to be happy with their services, they backed out of their own contract. We have not cut our lawn, as we were waiting for the promised service, and it is now too long to cut with our mower. I would not recommend this service to anyone.
