He did the estimate in a neat and orderly fashion but firstoff his price was a bit high and then I started looking at the details and it was listed that they would put in a roof vent and attic fan. You can't have both because it wouldn't work and that is what made me go in a different direction. The quote he gave me for just the house $5320 and I just had the house and garage done for $5075.

I'm totally puzzled by the reviews of Nyberg Exteriors on Angies List. We called Nyberg several times to set an appointment. We were interested in meeting them based on the reviews by Anglies LIst members. No one answers the phone at Nyberg, so we left messages. It took 2 days to get a return phone call. An appointment was set and we called twice to remind them of the appointment and to make certain they understood that they needed a 30' ladder to access the roof. They confirmed that they understood this. Stuart Nyberg showed up today and said "how do I get on the roof?". He only had a small ladder with him. He seemed confused about the appointment and unsure whether he had ever received the info about the ladder. He said "I guess I'll just excuse myself." We've met with 5 other top rated Angie's List roofers and had totally different (outstanding) experiences. Why would anyone recommend this company? A huge waste of our time. Angies List members should note that they don't seem very motivated to win work.

It was a pleasant experiences. They were on time and on schedule. All the workers were very nice as well.

The team was very patient while I agonized about colors and materials. The crew came on the day promised. Work was done in a professional manner -- no mess was left around the house. There have been a few massive thunderstorms since work was completed and so far everything is great. We are very pleased.

We saw all of the rave reviews they had, so we used them. They were very professional and thorough. I was satisfied with their work.

I hired this company based on the information on Angie's List. Stuart Nyberg seems like a really nice guy, and I hate to give his company a bad rating but I have to. I got an estimate from Stuart for $1300.00 for the work. He seemed to have a lot of trouble coordinating days for his roofers and gutter hangers to come out. The roofers came out right before Thanksgiving, tore off the old roof and installed the new one. When they left, I noticed black tar marks across my white bannisters and white window sills. I had to paint those because it wouldn't wipe off.. Also, these guys were rude to my mailman. The mailman has worked this route for a long time. I guess they didn't like it that he needed to deliver the mail while they were working. They also took off the old gutters and didn't put new ones up or put the old ones back. Another team was supposed to come in a day or so to do that, It snowed right after Thanksgiving in 2008, so the team never showed up to hang gutters. (Apparently, Nyberg has one group that does roofing, one that does gutters, and one that does siding.) I went the whole winter without gutters on the front of my home. We had three to five foot icicles three inches thick hanging over the front windows and the front porch. The stairs were covered with ice for most of the winter. We had to chip out a small path for the mailman. It was dangerous. The flashing at the top of the roof also was not completely sealed and I had to do that myself. Also, in tearing off the old layers of roofing the new roof is less thick, so the siding on my home has a channel running across the front. It looks terrible! If they would have told me this while they were working I would have paid additional to have the siding replaced to be flush with the new roof. Nyberg waited until I noticed it myself and then, after talking to his siding guy, said there was nothing they could do about it. (I figure I'll eventually hire someone else to repair that.) In March, Nyberg came out to see me and he was apologetic for the inconvenience. The gutters were put up in March. Nyberg also knocked two hundred dollars off my bill for the troubles. After that I noticed a crack on the ceiling under the overhang and condensation marks along it. I repaired it and it hasn't returned yet and I'm hoping it was only a result of the no gutter situation. I like Nyberg buy I wouldn't hire him again.

The installation team was also professional and responsive to our concerns and requests. We feel as though the shakes and the aluminum work are superior to what we had before renovations started. We would recommend Nyberg Exteriors (especially Andy & Arthur) and would definitely use them for future exterior work. Hopefully, we won't need any for a long time!

It looks like a good job. Time will tell.

Our old roof was starting to fall off. We were just waiting for the rain to come in when we found Nyberg. They came out, toured the attic and the grounds, and wrote out a proposal. They cleaned up after themselves daily and left the yard as debris free as they found it!! When I saw the mess I was wondering how the yard would fair. I have a dog whose paws would not appreciate a lost nail. This was not an issue. Our house is very tall and close to the neighbor's house. The workers were conscientious about the neighbor's windows and walls. No harm came to anything next door. All and all a wonderful experience. No more worries about rain.

I understand that Angie's List is great for vendor's business, and this is confirmed by the fact that many appear to be too busy to respond to inquiries. We have purchased a new (to us) home and are doing a lot of work in various categories. I would guess that 50% of those contractors we have attempted to contact via Angie's List have not responded. An identical review is going into at least 5 vendor reviews today. Nyberg appears to fall into this category. We have chosen a contractor that responded in a timely manner.

We found Nyberg Exteriors on Angie's List & contacted them for a quote based on their excellent reviews. Stuart Nyberg came out to give us an estimate ($7,400) within days, around my work schedule. We also obtained 4 other estimates for the work to be done. He was very nice & worked with us on the skylight issue (they had been installed improperly by the previous home owner). We were on a tight budget, and we were hoping not to have to completely replace the skylights, if possible, since they were only a few years old, so Stuart suggested reflashing and resetting them. He also guaranteed the work against leaking for 7 years. Most of the other companies only guaranteed their roof work for 5 years and some of the other companies just wanted to replace the existing skylights for thousands more! Nyberg's estimate was very reasonable, one of the 2 lowest of the 5 we obtained. We chose Nyberg based on their reputation, fair estimate, professionalism, willingness to work with us on the skylights, and 7 year guarantee. Anyway, they scheduled our work within 2 weeks, and Stuart called us the day before to re-confirm the work to be done to make sure we were still on the same page. I liked that since we had discussed a few other options and I was worried they might forget exactly what we had decided on. Of course, he did not forget and I probably worry too much :-) The crew did excellent work, were very careful with our landscaping, and our neighbors too. The place was immaculate when they were done, probably cleaner than before they came. As it turned out, Stuart Nyberg told us he had some leftover materials from the job and actually credited us for them, so we paid less than the original quote ($6,910). That was a nice surprise. Our roof looks great, the skylights look great now too (and no leaks), and we are thrilled with the job Nyberg did. I have already referred several friends to them. We will need some siding replaced and new gutters in the future and we absolutely plan to use Nyberg for that too, when we are ready. I can't say enough good things, I highly recommend them!

Andy and Art, the project managers were extremely responsive and professional. They were right on top of it from start to finish, monitoring the quality and progress and worked to make sure I was satisfied with the finished product. I was!

Had several quotations this was not the cheapest but reasonable and prompt. Work was scheduled without delay and completed on time. Foreman and crew courteous and did a great job.

They don't use subcontractors and they have very good workers. Mr. Nyberg is a very honest person, I think he has very high integrity. I think they are fair in price and it's a very good and ethical business.

I have been very satisfied with them. They do excellent work and have competitive. They are very dependable.

The job went smoothly and without any surprises. This is the 3rd time I have used Nyberg: first for my house & garage roofs & house gutters/downspouts, then soffits and now siding. I got three estimates and I was glad that Nyberg's came in the lowest because I wanted to use someone I was familiar with. I wanted a downspout (which Nyberg had installed 6 years ago) cut so that the exit point would be a little higher. I mentioned it to Andy and he had his guys do it. The two workmen were professional and courteous, they cleaned up beautifuuly afterward, and it didn't hurt that they speak Polish and I speak Polish, so we got along just fine. I hope Nyberg is still around in 20 years when I need a new roof!

The job went well from start to finish. The estimate was reasonable and the quality of work was excellent. The work crews kept the site clean at the end of each day of work. This company uses only the highest quality materials for their projects. We would definitely use this company again in the future and would recommend them to anyone else.

We developed several leaks on our condo building flat roof this year, and we hired Nyberg Exteriors to make the repairs. We used them last year to install a roof over our back porch to replace the corrugated fiberglass sheeting the condo conversion contractor installed and replace the main roof's gutter with a larger one. They did an excellent job with last year's work at a very reasonable price so we knew they could help us this year, and they did. Stuart Nyberg recommended first that we have three of the chimneys repaired before they would perform any patching at this time. They had help us with some emergency patching over the winter, and some leaks had returned. Nyberg suspected that the chimneys, which had various issues like no caps and poor tuck pointing, were a potential source of the leaks. He recommended a mason who could do the work for us. His recommendation did a great, quick job, too. When we pointed out locations in the building where we noticed leaks, Nyberg was able to find the potential sources and patch them. They did things like removing bubbled sections of roofing material and installing a patch, re-flashing around the chimneys once the masons were done, replacing a broken coping tile, sealing any gaps they notice at any seams and closing the top of one chimney which was not in use. They were able to fit our job, which took about three days, into their schedule in a timely fashion. Since they performed the work, several large storms have passed though the area and we have not had any additional leaking.

Stuart Nyberg was wonderful during the whole process. He was the one that came out to do the estimate. He brought samples and explained everything and gave feedback on color ideas. He came by as the work was being done and made sure that everything was going the way we wanted it to. We are very happy with our new roof and gutters. We will definitely recommend Nyberg Exteriors to all our friends!

Overall, my fellow unit owners and I had an excellent experience with Nyberg Exteriors. I originally solicited quotes from six contractors in late June 2009; Nyberg Exteriors was one of the respondents. I dealt directly with Andy Kopka throughout the entire process, and I found him to be extremely professional and helpful. Andy made one or two special trips to meet with me and my fellow unit owners in order to walk through the various options (insulated vs. non-insulated; colors; thickness; etc.) and he made the whole process a fairly painless one. The entire negotiation process took awhile, but that was more the fault of our Association than anything (since we wanted to make sure that we were making the best possible decision). For what we were getting (and interestingly enough, almost all of the contractors who responded had their own spins on what we wanted!), Nyberg's quote was on the lower side compared to the others. We originally were going to opt for the non-insulated siding, but then the unit owners decided to pay a bit more to get the insulated variety (in hindsight, a very wise decision). After we made the decision to work with Nyberg, it took about five weeks to get the siding actually ordered and to schedule the work. The start date kept shifting (which was a little aggravating in terms of planning things) but this was mostly due to Nyberg having other commitments and the wet weather around that time of year. Once the start date was established, though, the Nyberg crew was hard at work right away. The entire project took about 10 days or so? During that time, the workers (I believe that there were two or three?) were pretty much self-sufficient, and they did a great job of cleaning up the work area. It was great watching them install the fabulous new siding over the original crappy, beat-up, wooden siding! Very few, if any, issues came up during the course of the work; however, if I ever needed anything, then I would usually get an extremely prompt response from Andy. In addition to the siding, I also contracted separately with Nyberg to have new metal fascia and soffits applied to the three exposed sides of my end unit. The work was done after the siding was installed, and was completed fairly quickly (this accounted for $720 of the total $14,000 spent with Nyberg). Overall, I'd have to say that this was a great experience, and our building received a MAJOR face-lift. That part looks good as new! Dealing with Nyberg Exteriors was a great experience; they were very knowledgeable, professional, prompt, and fair in terms of pricing. And their work was terrific! Also, the insulated siding did seem to keep the interiors fairly warm this winter. I highly recommend Nyberg Exteriors, and would do business with them on other projects, too.

Andy and crew did a excellent job in our house. Our windows look great, they completed the job in one day even though it was a full replacement windows (replaced whole frame). They cleaned up after the job very well and sealed the windows and put new trims in the interior and exterior. Overall I had a very good experience with Andy and Nyberg Exteriors.

They were accessible I would have felt confident hiring them but we went with someone else. They were easy to work with in terms of getting the estimate to us.

Showed up and provided estimates as promised. Price was comparable to other vendors. Work began and ended as promised. Workmanship was perfect. After completion, job site was void of any evidence they were there except for the new, perfectly installed gutters. Follow up from company indicated they wanted to ensure satisfaction before final invoice. No complaints, would recommend to my best friend.
