We have used Nyberg Exteriors several times in the past and have always had a great experience and great service. Our most recent experience was no exception and was simply outstanding. We were experiencing a minor leak in our master bedroom closet, presumably from the roof above. I frankly could not understand how the roof could be leaking when there was now snow on the roof and the temperature outside was hovering near zero, I called Nyberg Exteriors and they said they would come out and take a look at it the next day. Andy Nyberg arrived promptly when he said he would and after examining our closet he went up on the roof to investigate. It turns out that the leak was caused by a "nail pop". Andy fixed the nail right on the spot and caulked over it - without any charge. Truly an overall A+ experience with amazing customer service.

Nyberg Exteriors worked with my insurance company when I had hail damage. My insurance company said I had to have a new roof and had a company that they worked with, but I wanted this company in particular, because I had had a new roof in 2008 or 2009. I didn't use Nyberg Exteriors then because they were a little to expensive and I regretted it. So this time I wanted to hire him. He had been here in 2009 to fix the skylight the other roofers couldn't or wouldn't do or claimed they had done but never did. So I hired them to fix a leak in the roof that was done by somebody else. Stuart Nyberg seems to be very knowledgeable. When he comes to your house he explains things extremely well, very calm, and easy to talk to you. I have a huge amount of confidence in them. He doesn't push himself or sell the company. If he doesn't think you need something he will tell you. I think their prices are fair. So I had them work with my insurance company to do my roof. I hope I never need another roof, but I would use them again.
Description of Work: Nyberg Exteriors have done two things for me. Most recently they did my garage and house roof and had previously fixed a leak that was done by another roofing company.

I had three contractors come out and provide estimates. One was about 50% higher and one had some very interesting (and ridiculously expensive) ideas about how to solve my problems. Nyberg was very competitive on price but the Angie's List reviews helped me make the decision and I am very glad that I did. The home where the work was done was unoccupied so I can't vouch for certain details such as punctuality on a daily basis because those issues were not important to me. Andy at Nyberg did contact me with the scheduled date for the work to begin. They started on that date and finished something like a week and a half later, which was perfectly acceptable. The work was very professionally done. The crew very polite on the day I met them and obviously very quality oriented. The fit and finish were terrific even though my house has a couple of "prow" features that I thought might be a challenge. I wasn't sure about the vinyl soffit until I saw it installed. It looks really great and I feel that the continuous vent will work a lot better than the old aluminum soffits with spaced venting. The roof work they did looks great as well. I would definitely use these guys again. In fact, I am using a contractor they recommended to fix my chimney masonry. They left the site clean and I will definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: We had the following work performed: Remove existing aluminum soffit covers that were on half the house (with no vent holes cut in the actual plywood soffits) and replace with vinyl soffit covers. Install aluminum fascia Install new gutters and downspouts Repair and recoat flat roof on addition (enclosed sunroom)

Stuart is prompt, explains the problem, shows up on time, willing to work around my schedule. He tore pff the old roof, replaced old fascia, put on new 30 yr. shingles with drip edge and new vents. I have complete confidence in calling him whenever I have a problem. I would rate him - A plus.

Stuart Nyberg was easy to get in touch with regarding giving us an estimate and setting up a time for him to drop off some shingle color samples. He was up front with us about when he could start, since there were a few jobs ahead of ours and in the winter the weather is always iffy. Work started approximately a week after we accepted his contract, which was about when he'd told us to expect. We had a few rainy days during their work on our roof, but fortunately they only do a section at a time so it was never a problem. We're very happy with the roof and have received compliments from neighbors. Our homeowner's insurance company is happy too, as the previous roof was in terrible shape! Mr. Nyberg also had information about a class action suit involving a certain type of shingle. Our old roof turned out not to be that kind, but I appreciate that he offered to help us go through the paperwork and such if it had been. Highly recommended!
Description of Work: They installed new shingles on the entire roof, and installed a ridge vent.

We noticed water spots on our living room ceiling following a storm and called Nyberg Exteriors after doing some Angie's List Research. Andy arrived within the provided time window and went onto the roof after a brief inspection of the interior damage. Approximately 15 minutes later, Andy packed up his equipment and informed us that a nail had popped on our roof, leaving a hole into which water was leaking. He showed us some of the symptoms of the damage, and explained that he had taken steps to correct the damage, including removing the nail and caulking in a new shingle over the hole. Being that we were in a bit of an emergency (our roof was leaking, more rain was on the way, and it might be difficult to find someone willing to do any work because it was 5 days before Christmas), this would have been the perfect opportunity for someone to charge us a lot of money for the services, but when we asked Andy how much we owed him, he stated that the work was free of charge. There was a significant amount of rain later that night, and the leak did not reappear. We will definitely use this company for any roofing services in the future, and would recommend him to anyone in need of such services. We could not have been more impressed.

I got an estimate on the phone. They have a guy who does small roofing jobs like this one. I called around and their prices seemed reasonable. It was raining on the scheduled day, and the job had to be rescheduled. I am glad that they were responsible like this because I didn't want the work to be done on the wet day either. The guy showed up on time. He worked in the attic and outside. He didn't make any mess.
Description of Work: My bathroom vents used to vent to the attic. To be up to code, I needed to vent them outside to avoid mold in the attic. They put my two bathroom vents so that they vent outside through the roof. Even for this small job, I wanted to hire a reputable roofing company since this job involved my roof.

Workers arrived early, before Andrew. I needed to leave for work, but they didn't speak English (Polish) so I couldn't explain my demands. However, Andrew soon arrived, quickly confirmed my requirements, and his team got to work. They did the work outside in my absence, but the work was done exactly as requested and they had cleaned up their worksite. Quality quick work.

Got several quotes for a new roof. Nyberg had the best price and Angie's List discount. Nyberg was prompt and responsive at communicating via both phone and email. Workers showed up as scheduled., and took 1.5 days to complete the work. They used a trailer on wheels to collect debris from old roof, which I preferred as it avoided risk of damage to my new concrete driveway. The workers were very neat and did a nice job of cleaning up as the work was progressing. Overall, I was satisfied with the process and the work that was done. Would recommend.

Stuart is great. We had a new tear-off done in 2001 by Nyberg Enterprises. Work was great, crew was great. This past summer (2012) we had some minor storm damage. Stuart sent his crew out and fixed it at no charge -- even though it was a few months past it's warranty. Wonderful service. I'd recommend them any time.

My coach house was neglected for years before Nyberg Exteriors came to the rescue. The roof leaked like a sieve. There was no insulation. No gutters. Squirrels had made a home in the eaves. The siding was pealing off in sheets. Andy and John from Nyberg came out and discussed renovations. I brought four contractors in to bid on the repairs and Nyberg was the most impressive when asking about the details and offering solutions. They were able to match the new roof's shingles to my house and were able to complete the roofing work in a single day. I was very impressed with the speed in which they operated. They returned a few days later to start the siding/soffit/fascia. The work was spectacular. The attention to detail was impressive. Nyberg exceeded my expectations.

Excellent estimate experience - the guys were prompt, got on the roof quickly, checked the interior access through the crawlspace, and produced a professional, printed quote, all within a very short amount of time. I was ready to hire them right then and there, but we already had other appointments scheduled for quotes. As often happens, day-to-day life got in the way and we haven't actually got around to completing the repairs, but Nyberg is currently at the top of the list!

Nyberg arrived on time for both the quote and installation phase of the project. The existing siding on the garage had to first be removing and new plywood and siding had to be installed. It took about 2 days for the entire installation. The result exceeded my expectations. They cleaned up afterward and I really had no issues with the install at all. It has been a few weeks since the new siding was installed and I have not found anything during that time to complain about. I would certainly use Nyberg again for any future projects.

Our chimney cap for the return air was blew off in one April's stormy night. The rain pour down straight into the attic. I call them the next day of course. The contractor Andy was prompted enough to call in workers to fix the roof temporary. This saved me a great deal of grief as one can imagine. At the end, they did a good job on installing new siding and roofing for me.

Andy and another team member came out to inspect my roof as well as look at cracked basement windows and provide estimates. I really appreciated how they talked honestly with me - that replacing the pane of glass would be cheaper than a new window, and that the need to replace roofing on our deck was not urgent. Another company did not even come to my home, but instead called me and told me all of the damage my house had, "because everyone else's was damaged too" - what a load of crap! I would definitely use Nyberg again because I trust them to do exactly what is needed, and speak honestly with me about my options as a homeowner.

Called and made an appointment for an estimate for siding. We agreed on 8:30am. I arrived at 8:30am. I waited until 9am - no one came. Spoke to Mr. Nyberg on the phone, he said the 8:30 appt time was a "window" of 8:00 - 8:30 (which is was not). He then proceeded to tell me he waited at the property for me until 8:45 - which was not true, as I'd been standing in front of the house from 8:30 to 9:00. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere.

Overall I was pleased with the fact that my roof got fixed. I t took a little longer that I thought it would but since it was a small job (1/2 day) I figured I would be fit in when convenient. No problem with that. I probably paid too for the work that was done. I accepted their bid when I should have gotten another one but it wasn't going to be a big difference anyway (I would would guess I paid $250-500 too much) so I didn't. In hindsight, I should have. I don't feel ripped off by any means( i freely accepted the bid) but having watched the work they did and knowing what they needed to do, I think I paid too much. In hindsight, I really don't think I got the complete detail of the work they said they were going to do. The two gentlemen who did the work were fine and I am sure they did good work. But it was difficult to garner anything from them as to what they were doing. I don't expect chit chat when people work at my house but I do expect interaction when I try to watch and learn. These two didn't seem to have any interest in informing me as to what they were doing which I do have a problem with. Again, for an overall standpoint, I think the work I wanted done was finished in an appropriate time frame and I believe it was done correctly which is what you ultimately expect. I cannot give this firm an A because of the reasons I noted. No particular problem and I am sure they did fine work. I checked that I would use them again because of that. However, I was disappointed with their interaction with me and I suspect that I paid more that I should have. While some of that is on me and I take responsibility for that, I would likely get other estimates next time I had a roof problem and make sure I get the information I need.

Practically every year since our new roof was installed in 2005, we would have a small water stain appear somewhere in our upper floor. One was in the hallway, one in a bedroom closet, etc. Each time, I called Stuart and he would send someone over and caulk either the coping or flashing. Sometimes he charged me. Sometimes he didn't. It never occurred to me that the problem had something to do with the original roof work - until we had our garage roof replaced. The roofer for that job showed me how he made sure to cover the area UNDER the coping. When Stuart sent someone out to deal with another leak, I went up on the roof and checked under the coping. There was no covering of any kind. They had been simply caulking the coping which would eventually give way overtime and new leaks would occur. I called Stuart and told him the roofing job he did in '05 was flawed and that I wanted to have this corrected at n/c. He agreed. He sent some over to pull all the old coping, cover the areas and replace the coping. I should note, here, that when the copies was removed, you could see rotted wood. After the job was completed, Stuart sent me an email telling me how much it cost him and could I pay for some of it. I was floored. The roof was still under warranty. And, for all these years we had been dealing with leaks that could have been prevented if the job had been done correctly. He (as a roofer) never thought to look under the coping to determine why we were having reoccurring leaks? I told him as much and never heard back. A month later, I had an inspection done of the roof by Domicile Consulting. He wrote the following in his report: ROOF, ROOF COVERING SYSTEM, AND ATTIC Comments: Inspected (1) The metal copings that have been recently installed require repairs and revisions to the installation. The West terminations are poor and will undoubtedly allow moisture entry during inclement weather. The horizontal joints do not allow for proper expansion and contraction that will be experienced at the roof location. The copings should be attended to by a qualified sheet metal contractor to ensure lasting performance. (2) Modified bitumen and single ply roof coverings (most, not all materials) require the installation of 'cant strips' at 90 degree corners so that the material is not bent sharply. The improperly installed roof covering in these locations should be repaired by a qualified roofing contractor to reduce stresses on the covering and seams. Additionally, the roof should be 'white coated' to reduce solar loading and increased cooling efforts and costs. I sent the information - and photos - to Stuart asking him if he'd be willing to fix these problems. Not surprisingly, I never heard back from him. So please, ignore my previous review.
Description of Work: Replaced rubber roof in 2005 for $2000. Every year after that we had a small leak someplace. Last June, I finally figured out the problem. See below. I updated my review, but just recently realized that since it was an update, it didn't show up as new. I was reminded of the problem when a roofer came by last week to check on another problem and happened to look up at the coping Nyberg replaced and told me the wrong material was used and that they only use it for windows. He was surprised when he heard who did the work and even said, "I thought they did better work than that." An "A" rating on Angie's List doesn't always mean they are a good vendor, unfortunately.

The first time I called Nyberg, no one called me back. The second time I called I mentioned that a friend of mine had their roof done by Nyberg. They called me back later that day. Andy and Arthur came out, quoted me for roofing and siding, and answered all of my questions while here. I also sent two e-mails with a number of questions, which took them a day or two to respond to. Not being responded to right away, or talking to a live person whenever I called, which was on 3 separate occasions, really concerned me. What killed the deal for me was that they wouldn't accept a credit card. I have spoken with many contractors throughout this journey of trying to find someone to install a roof, siding, windows and doors and they have all said the same thing: "Be very careful who you work with." Why? Because so many of them take your money and never perform the work. At least with a credit card, I have a layer of protection instead of being out the down payment of $6K if they job isn't done. So shelling out cash or check did not make me feel secure in using Nyberg.

It went great. They were very responsive and very professional. Their bid was half as much as their competition. They felt that maintenance would keep us from having to replace the roof for 5 to 10 years, which was in keeping with the inspector's report. Another company wanted us to replace the roof sooner. Their work was very good, fast, and clean. Absolutely no complaints.
Description of Work: They repaired some roof tiles that were lifting, fixed flashing & installed a new gutter and down spout.
