They arrived on time and were very professional and climbed right onto the roof. They found the minor leak around the chimney caulking and instead of coming down and quoting it, they caulked that area PLUS two other vent areas that looked like they needed attention. AND, there was no charge! I know the repair didn't take long, but what a surprise! I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to all my family and friends.

Andy was very prompt in answering my questions and returning my calls. He never seemed bothered by questions. Was very cooperative with scheduling to avoid a conflict with another project we were about to start. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Mark took off all of the aluminum covering both the soffits (front and back of house), drilled 4" holes every 2 feet, put back all of the aluminum covers. We have a 2 story house it took Mark all day to complete the work. We were so satisfied with Nyberg's we have hired them to do more work on our home in a couple of weeks.

Andy was prompt, professional and honest about what his crew could and could not do. He recommended a second contractor to perform repairs that he felt were outside of his core competency. About two months after completion, we had a small leak around the bathroom vent. Andy had one of his guys come out the same day and repair it. Over two and a half years later, we have had no further issues and are still happy with the materials and the work.

When purchasing this home i know we would have few upgrades to make the roof being my most worry some. Its scary to not have a solid roof over your head, especially in chicago. My husband and i were very weary of contractors especially when it comes to roofs. I saw a few reviews about Nyberg so i decided they would be one of our estimates. They seemed genuine in knowledge and respect to our wishes and requirements. They did it in just 2 days which was nothing short of a miricle to me, Weve had some very heavy rains with winds since and havent had any problems. One of my neighbors commented on the quality of our roof, having been in the industry in the past he knew about the ridges and valleys i think you call them. I contacted Nyberg Exteriors in March to fix a problem area of the roof on my tri-level residence. Andy met me on site to go over the situation and write an estimate. The cost was substantially less than other quotes I had received. I scheduled the start for April. The crew did the work in one day and the finished product looks great. Clean & neat finish, they matched the shingles well, and subsequent rainfalls have produced no leakage. I would reccomend and use them again for sure.

It took a while after depositing before they came out, but I appreciate that they were swamped after the harsh winter. The end result was above and beyond what I expected, so I'm pleased.

Stuart Nyberg is VERY organized, panctual and effective!!!!! WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. He called us back within 24 hours from when we first contacted him and was out to see the roof within a few days. Gave us a detailed outline of the work and answered all our questions. His estimate was very reasonable (middle of the road) and we liked his professionalism. He started the work a week after we agreed (because another work he was doing went longer, which is reasonable). During the repair there was a big storm and we had some water leak into our condo from the roof. Though it was Sunday, Stuart responded right away to the problem and sent one of his guys to secure the temporary roof covers. He covered for any water damage that was done to our walls. He is a wonderful man, very very professional and very organized and responsible. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him and we would rehire him in a heartbeat! Thank you Angie's List for the great find!

They gave the estimate and they were the best price, but I have just decided to wait on this project. He was very nice when he came out.

After getting estimates from a handful of roofers, Nyberg was the first and only roofer to: * Contact me within 24 hours * Agree to meet me the same day * Arrive on-time * Come with two people * Actually go up on the roof to do the inspection * Provide detailed proposal the same day Although I am not quite ready to commit to the job, this level of service puts Nyberg ahead of the short-list of possible roofers. I now know the cause of my problem, have a professional opinion, and a detailed statement of work.

Dealing with Andy was great. From the initial contact, he came out and gave us a bid on replacing our 22 year old cedar shake roof. He didn't pressure us, just gave us all the info we needed and answered all our questions at the time, and over the phone a few days later. We received 4 bids and his was the lowest. His references checked out and he had done another home in the neighborhood. Crew was courteous, cleaned up at the end of each day. I would recommend Nyberg Exteriors for your roofing needs.

The project was intricate. The house is over 100 years old. They applied solar shingles and an extra layer of felt. The upstairs is now very comfortable in the summer and winter. Stewart was very flexible working with material he wasn't as familiar with. Wesley has been working for Stewart for 20 years and is very good at what he does.

Very professional. They are always extremely professional, friendly and on time. We had them come in late 2012 to repair a section of the roof and they followed up via phone and in person to make sure we were satisfied (we were). I phoned them again in early 2014 for an opinion on our roof and they, again, were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They didn't even charge me for the last visit even though they did a few minor repairs that the noticed while looking around!

We purchased our house in 2012 and hired Nyberg Exteriors to replace the roof. The work came with a guarantee against leaks for 7 years. Over the next few months we suspected that there was a leak into our unfinished attic around the chimney because of color changes in the surrounding wood and on the floor, but could never find the area actually wet. It was also difficult to be sure because the area was already stained from before we bought the house, so we knew it had leaked at some point, and we just assumed that the new roof would fix the problem if it was still currently leaking. However, a couple of weeks ago (in March 2014) we finally found moisture in that area and I emailed Stuart Nyberg who had been in charge of our project. It was a Saturday but I didn't expect him to even read the email until Monday. Not an hour later I got a call -- it was him, outside our house, looking at the chimney from the outside and wondering if he could take a look in the attic! He determined that the problem was that our cinderblock chimney was porous and moisture was gradually seeping in that way. This didn't fall under the guarantee and we would have gladly paid him to fix it, but he offered to come out and seal it for free. We're not sure when the work was done, but yesterday we noticed that the chimney has a fresh layer of sealant on it, and I imagine this will fix the problem. I was already so satisfied with the work this company did on our roof, and their price, but this just went above and beyond. Highly recommended!

aI had previously called Nyberg in 2010, when I had a leak in the ceiling of my kitchen addition. They were able to diagnose it as a crack in the caulking above a second story window and repaired it. They did point out at the time (as did other contractors) that my asphalt sididng was quite old and might develop other cracks (unlike other contractors, they not pressure me to replace it immediately). When the leak recurred 3 years later and we also noticed some separations in the old siding, we knew it was time. Nyberg came out promptly and were very helpful in discussing the options. Unlike other contractors, they did not push for us to replace anything that didn't need replacing. Their contract was not as specific as some others--for instance, they didn't mention aluminum wrapping around door frames--but any time I emailed them about this, they included it in their proposal. Their price seemed fair compared to others, I trusted them from their previous work, and they had good references. The work was delayed by the rainy weather; they had initially estimated it would start two weeks after they received my deposit, but it took about six weeks. I got a little nervous about this but they responded to my worried email. The day they were finally scheduled to come out, the workers didn't show up--I asked what happened and they said his truck had broken down! Then I really got worried! However, once John and his crew showed up (the day after they were scheduled), everything went fine. The crew worked really hard and were very conscientious about cleaning up every day. In fact, one of my neighbors commented that she saw them picking up debris from a neighbor's lawn that wasn't even related to the siding! I have a big native plant garden and was a little worried it getting trampled during the work, but they tried to be careful about it. They placed the boxes of siding in an area with no plants. I had pointed out some wire screening around the foundation of the house that was part of another contractor's work to exclude mice and asked that it be left in place; they were very careful to leave it there and put siding over it as a double barrier. The company reps came out several times during the project (we were out of town for part of it) and returned at the end. I pointed out several things I had questions about, and John had already informed them about these. The house looks great; our neighbors have complimented the work (and the workers). Additionally--and unrelated to the siding work--I contacted the company a few months later when a cap blew off a pipe on our roof. Andy had me email him a picture of the cap, told me what it was and where to get a replacement, and sent someone out within a few days to replace it at minimal cost. Good use of technology!

We had persistent problems with a leaky roof for years until Nyberg installed a new roof on our house a couple of years ago. It seemed to solve the problem until this winter when one of the leaks reappeared. Andy and Arthur came out immediately and inspected the situation. They determined that the leak was coming from the ice damming up behind the gutter, which was not installed by Nyberg, but by another contractor years ago. Even though they probably could have made a justifiable case that this leak was not covered under their warranty, they never even brought it up, They went about repairing the effected area with NO CHARGE. Problem solved. Nyberg has done several jobs for us over the years: Roofing, tuck pointing, patio repair, downspout rerouting. I reccomend them highly. They are professional in every way, Their estimates are always fair. Their work is done on time, and cleanup is always thorough. You can't do any better than these guys

Andy, the owner, was very attentive to my needs on my roof. He was able to come out within a few days of when I called. I did not have to be home when he came by to do work on the roof which was a huge bonus. He replied to my email within an hour and he was always quick to respond. I plan on using him again in the future.

Excellent company. Excellent communication. After initial meeting with Nyberg Exteriors, at my home, they could see just what needed to be done. They offered cost saving suggestions and did not push other types of work that I was not interested in at the time. The work was very professional and completed promply. When finished our front porched looked modern, updated and the immediate problems had all been addressed.

They were fantastic. It was a good price. They did a good job. I have no complaints with them. I would have them again. I would recommend them.

They were good. My general interaction with them was pretty good and as of a business where I knew I did not know anything about roofing and so kind of figuring out if I trusted them was pretty important to me and I thought like I did trust them. Their price was right in the middle.

I thought I had completed an evaluation on Angie's List at that time. I would honestly tell you that Stu Nyberg is one of the most honest business owners I have ever worked with. After my initial estimate which I thought was actually reasonable and the work had been completed, he came back and told me he had over estimated the materials needed and reducted the cost by about $1,200. Now I would have never known with the cost to complete the entire roof that this was the case. His honesty was refreshing in this day and age. Secondly, last fall I gave Stu a call about some gutter concerns. Again, he was honest as the day is long.
