Called on 5/21 and left detailed message for concrete patio. Called back on 6/2, set up appointment for evaluation. Never showed up, no call, no nothing. Stay away.

I did actually end up using another company. The company that I did use did a great job. I would certainly like to give a positive feedback relative to that. K and K Concrete, LLC is who we used. They were very prompt in following up, very knowledgeable on their services and timely in executing the work.

They're fabulous. They're very good services and staffs. They cleaned up after themselves. They're very nice and polite in addressing us.

Outstanding execution and value delivery. Highly recommend. He is busy, as well he should be and prioritized our job which was small relative to others so we had to wait a bit. I would not have cared other than the fact that skunks had set up shop under our old stoop that had gaps and was in poor repair. The end product was really well done. SOLID!

They were very good. They cleaned up well. Responsive. It worked out well.

Found Kand K on Angie's list. Kurt came out and talked with us about what we wanted. He offered suggestions while keeping in mind our design plan. He gave us an estimated time for pouring the sidewalk (depending on weather, permit (which he applied for so we didn't have to) and kept us updated via phone and email regularly. During the installation we asked to have piping for electricity added to the job. No problem; no extra charge. Once completed the walk was exactly as we wanted and looks great. The clean up was so good you'd never know they were there. After the job they returned to take down the braces and sticks and then sent the bill. No pressure at all. It was a great experience and we would not hesitate to use Kand K again or recommend them to our family and friends. Kurt was a pleasure to work with. Thanks for a great job. Kathy Schmitz

It went fantastic. The only problem was they did not have the permits for the work. I instructed them to get them before they could continue with the project. Kurt did this immediately, and the job continued the same day. The patio is beautiful, and the workmanship was professional. His crew were so nice and professional. It was a cold and windy day. I cannot say enough about them. I would recomend this company to anyone who needs this type of work. I also want to say Kurt, always got back to us in a timely manner when we called him. He also answered all our questions at the beginning of the project.

The service from Kand K was A+ all the way. First, a little background on me so you can get an idea where I am coming from. This was the first time I have ever had to have any outside company come in to do work for me on one of my properties. I have traditionally done everything myself. I also have family that has been in the construction industry. That being said, I chose Kand K from the BBB and Angies List without family referrals. I had 8 contractors come out to bid the job and Kand K was in the middle price wise. Ray (the owner) was very knowledgeable and his foreman was very accommodating. The foreman helped clearly explain issues each step of the way. The foreman suggested adjustments to the original plans after the demo was completed due to unforeseen issues and made suggestions for correction. I had asked to oversee the work at the very beginning of the job so I could see any issues that might come up and the foreman (Anthony) had no problems with that. The inspector came out and had minimal comments saying that the work was ready for the next day pour. Ray spent the whole second day of the job at my house overseeing completion of the job. He even got his hands dirty a few times to help out during the finishing process. Lastly, I asked Ray for some suggestions about future concrete work and he gave me honest suggestions. He even pointed out work that I could use that was not in his line of work or things he thought I could accomplish on my own saving me money. I had my brother which works on big Chicago road projects for the last 7 years and my father which was in construction management for 25 years come look at the work after demo/prep and again after the pour and they thought the work was great as well. Ray and Kurt (his son) run a great and professional company and were polite and courteous each step of the way. Thank you Kand K

Kurt called me the day before and told me of a cancellation for Monday. Two guys showed up on time, broke up the concrete, placed 2x4s, gravel and rebar and then the truck came and poured the concrete. They brush finished it nicely and put up tape to secure the area. Everything went very well. I felt that the price was fair considering it was a small job and they used a truck (as apposed to a bag mix). I am very happy with the project.

This was a and quot;perfectand quot; experience. Kurt visited our house within days of my call -- he was personable, knowledgeable and professional. Likeable from the start. We discussed various options for replacement stairs, including his suggestions, and he committed to provide me estimates for each. Due to a busy schedule, the estimates took a bit longer than I expected, but he had informed me in advance this might occur. Once the estimates were provided and we made our decision, the work commenced a couple of weeks later. On the scheduled day, his crew of three arrived promptly at 8:00 AM. The crew was awesome -- we reviewed the project plan and the work began. During the day, there were several variables the crew brought to my attention, suggesting small modifications to the original plan. I went with their suggestions (based upon their experience) and the new stairs look beautiful -- we are already getting positive comments from our neighbors. The cementwork continued into the early evening and the crew worked nonstop with just a short break for lunch. (We were more than happy to provide lunch and iced tea, by the way...) This crew even took care of a few smaller and quot;need to be fixedand quot; things not connected with the project, simply because they are good guys. Several days after the cement cured, one of the crew came back to and quot;cement washand quot; the surface to fill in some pock-marks from the forms. Kurt and his crew exceeded all of my expectations -- they were polite, professional, hard working and knowledgeable. They even took the time to explain what they were doing to our three grandchildren, ages 3, 6 and 7, who were fascinated by the process. The day was made even better by a wonderfully nice guy who delivered the cement (Jim from Ozinga), who also made sure each question lobbed at him by the grandchildren was answered. All in all, this was a truly excellent experience and I recommend Kurt with no hesitation whatsoever.

actually didn't need their services due to his honest and professional recommendation. this guy is not out to sell you something you don't need. He should definitely be one of the contractors you call.

The work done was absolutely first rate. But we fully expected that result. At our previous home, Kand K Concrete had performed two previous jobs for us with the same outstanding result. One job was to pave our crawlspace, changing it from a haven for bugs to a first-class storage space. The other job was to replace half of our concrete front porch which had cracked and sunk. In these, and other smaller jobs, it was always the company owner, Kurt Schild, that did much of the work and was there to supervise. When the owner of the company takes that kind of interest in his work and his customers the job is bound to be a success! Kand K is knowledgable, neat, reasonable, dependable, friendly, punctual, careful and therefore proud of their work. I would not hesitate to hire them again or recommend them for ANY concrete work!

We had a new garage built by garage builders and after the cement floor had cured wanted to have a protective concrete sealer put down. To find such a service I contacted K and K Concrete after finding them on Angie's List and seeing their very good reviews. Communication with Kurt of Kand K Concrete was easy, prompt and professional. By phone we discussed price, which seemed fair, and within the day received an e-mail about the days he was available which turned out to be within the upcoming week. I chose a date, he e-mailed a proposal, I faxed a signed copy back. He came out, arriving on time, rolled on the clear sealer on the garage floor, sprayed it on cement apron from garage to alley and the new short exit walkway from the door. He explained how long it would take to let the coating dry before using the garage. The floor looks great and is now nicely sealed. Work was done professionally and with care and from initial communication to his working on site he was a very pleasant person to deal with. After doing the sealing work I asked him to look at some work I think needs doing in the future, particularly a broken sidewalk area that abuts an old staircase. I was impressed with his knowledge of his trade. I would certain use K and K Concrete in the future.

The gentleman from K and K called me back promptly on the 1st business day after I had left a message for him. I told him in general terms the parameters of what we were looking for and that the patio was accessible to him at anytime. He told me he would be out during the week and e-mail me an estimate. After the 1st week, I called him, asked if he had been out. He had not which turned out to be good since my wife and I decided to expand the project somewhat. K and K said he probably couldn't make it until the following Saturday, but he would try to stop by during the week if possible. That's the last time we talked. I didn't try to contact him again. I'm very surprised this company warrants an "A" rating from many Angie's List subscribers.

They were very responsive and professional. They were reasonably priced, and did good, quality work.

Fine. Their cost was the middle of three bids. The scope of the work outlined by the bid was more extensive than the others. They showed up when they said they would. They did a professional job. I would use them again.

They did a beautiful job. I loved them. Our crawlspace looks absolutely terrific. It is great because I am not afraid to go in the crawlspace any more. I go down there and there are all kinds of things that are stored in there. I did not want to go down there before but now it is another room in the house. It is not smooth and they told me that it was going to be rough. However, they said that we would be able to walk down there and store things. They worked so much. The sidewalk was a very small job. We are going to move to another house now and will have a concrete driveway put in. They will be doing that for us probably in the next couple of weeks. I have already got the estimate but we are still waiting for the building permit. I recommended him to three or four other people. He would have those people call me and tell me that they wanted to do the same thing that I was doing. I was totally happy as he was a very nice guy. He runs the place extremely well. He does anything that you want. His quality is high and his pricing is very fair. So, I am completely happy with him. I wanted to go ahead with asphalt for the driveway and my wife suggested concrete. Also, his price was relatively low compared to asphalt which is very superficial, it cracks up and needs to be coated. It was less than twice as much and so, I decided to go ahead with the concrete. A few other people that had done work similar to it but were not in the business said that they thought that the wood that he was going to be charging for the driveway would be several hundred dollars more than it turned out to be.

Unfortunately due to the problems I'm having with the condo management, I have to hold off on using them. They were prompt and courteous when they came out here to give be the estimate.

Initially, Kurt was quick in responding to our query and scheduled a time to come to our house, look at the problem and discuss solutions with us. Upon viewing the area in need of repair, Kurt said he would need to call another person in his company to have that person come out for a more detailed inspection. He told us this on a Saturday, and said he would call to let us know when the person(Mike, I believe)was coming out so one of us could meet him. By mid-week, we had not heard anything and e-mailed Kurt to inquire; he finally arranged a time, and my husband stayed home from work to meet the person. However, that person never showed up. I contacted Kurt to let him know, and he arranged a time for Mike to come out when neither of us needed to be home. However, after sending several e-mails to Kurt, which went ignored, asking him for a final estimate, nothing was received. The last e-mail I sent to him stated that we would be finding another company; upon hearing this, Kurt decided to respond and told me he was working on an estimate right then and would get it to us ASAP. That was several months ago, and we have not heard a word from him since. I would highly recommend that others find a different company for any work that needs to be done, unless you are infinitely patient and have absolutely no time frame in which you would like the work completed.

My slab work was handled along with other concrete work for several neighbors.

Kurt came to the house as scheduled, was professional, and helpful when discussing the project. His proposal was professional, detailed, and prompt. However, his estimate was for $6,510.00, which was $2,610.00 more (almost double) than our other estimates. We called Kurt and gave him a chance to explain the price disparity but, in the end, we couldn't justify the overage and went with another contractor. We have since completed the project successfully and are very happy with the finished job. We spent $3800 on the job.

I called K and K and Kurt Schild came the next day to look at the project. He measured and suggested another section that I had not considered. He gave me a price the following day. When I accepted his quote we set a date for the job to be done. He did a beautiful job. The area looks good. His crew cleaned up really well. The next day Kurt came to inspect the job and clean up the last items. Very professional.
