Failed to give an estimate. Seem like ok people but if they won't show up I can never hire them.

When I first met with Mr. Holda last fall this was going to be a repair job. When the winter moved in too fast I asked him to postpone until this spring. By spring the damage had spread and we decided to replace all our siding and gutters. I met with Mr. Holda and reviewed the scope of needed work. He prepared a detailed quotation. I approved it, gave him a 50% deposit and work commenced the next week. His crew arrived every morning as scheduled and worked very quickly. Materials were delivered and stacked neatly in unused parts of the circle driveway and lawn as agreed. The craftsmanship was excellent and they cleaned up thoroughly every day. They worked long hours most days in order to complete the job as quickly as possible. There were two change orders that slightly enlarged the scope of the job. The additional pricing was very fair. In an instance where we ran into unexpected complications due to the nature of the way our home had been constructed Mr. Holda explained the need for an additional charge. Later because they found a less expensive way to work around the problem he did not charge me for the additional few hours of labor it cost him. His men had to remove our front door light and doorbell to complete their work. Later when there were problems with each not working after re- installation they took responsibility and repaired both even though it may not have been their fault. He asked to be paid on the day of completion which was according to terms and I had no problems doing that without hesitation. I am sure if any problem might arise in the future he will stand behind his work because he is that kind of person. He never failed to address any request we had regarding the work. His crew members were a pleasure to work with and displayed a wonderful attitude at all times. I have not had such a responsible contractor work on my home in many years.

Mariusz Holda is an on hand owner. Very professional and involved every step of the way. His employees are the best in their field. If and when I need a roof, window or any repairs on my home they will get the first call. I was lucky to be home and able to watch the care and pride they took in their work. But it takes more than just that for repeat business and that is quality and Holda Construction showed it every step of the way. Thank you for protecting our home and our investment.

I contacted Holda Construction via the email address on the website and described the problem I was having - water running over my gutters in heavy rain. I received an email from the owner, Mariusz Holda, early the next day saying that he could be out later that day to take a look. I was at work and couldn't be home but he said that was no problem and if ok with me he can take a look and let me know what he thinks. Later that evening, Mariusz called me and said that he looked at my house and said the problem was that in heavy rains the steep cedar roof resulted in too much for the standard gutter and that my gutters weren't pitched correctly in certain areas of the house. He said he would send me an estimate to look over and to call him with any questions. The estimate came to my inbox that evening and was very competitively priced. Mariusz was able to do the work the following week. His team showed up on time, made sure I was clear with what they were going to do, and were able to work around some of the other workers I had at the house that same day. The crew worked extremely hard all day and did a superb job cleaning up the grounds after all of the work was done. The gutters look great and proved to solve the problem in the heavy rains that followed two days later. When Mariusz stopped by to pick up the payment, he walked around the house and did a thorough inspection of the work and made sure I was happy. He offered some thoughts on my roof - suggestions on how to extend the life if I need some more time before thinking about replacing it. I will definitely call Mariusz when it comes time to do the roof and windows!

We invited four contractors with high ratings from Angie's List to bid on the project. Three of the bids came back really close, within $500, and the fourth was crazy high. Strangely enough it was not a hard decision to chose Holda Construction. We were very impressed with Mariusz, his professionalism, attention to detail and can-do attitude. He actually sent a drawing of the house with each window labeled to make sure that we were ordering exactly what we wanted. One of our concerns was replacing the blinds in each window and the Plantation Shutters that were in the Master Bedroom and bath. Two of the contractors said...maybe...Mariusz did not hesitate and said that it would be "no problem". He is a man of his word and they got them back up...perfectly. I have to say that the quality of the windows (which is terrific, you can't go wrong with Marvin!) is secondary or at least as important as the quality of the installation. Robert headed up the installation and he was meticulous and always ready to explain exactly what they were doing. They went the extra mile and added trim boards to windows that did not originally have them because they felt it would make for a better seal. You could tell that they take pride in their work and it isn't just a "job". The finish product exceeded our expectation and turned out absolutely beautiful. The install took three days and they worked very hard every day. They cleaned up every day and were always so respectful of our home and property. I knew that I went through the right process to pick Holda but was still a little nervous because of it being such a BIG decision. I absolutely made the right choice and could not be happier with the product, iinstallation and service. Mariusz as there almost every day and came to the house at the end of the project just to make sure that we were happy. If you are looking to put new windows in your home I feel that you could not go wrong in selecting Holda Construction.

Very responsive in getting a quote and setting up the job. Their pricing was fair and their work was timely. The install went without a hitch. We barely knew they were there. Would definitely recommend.

Our roof started losing shingles late last year due to the wind storms. Insurance company had someone come in and tarp it, but after several months we were starting to lose more shingles and also siding came off of our chimney. I had used Holda Construction in 2015 to replace some gutters damaged by a tree falling on the house. Mariuz came out with the insurance adjuster and while my insurance company only covered the replacement of the missing shingles, my husband and I felt we would rather just replace the entire roof because we had questions about whether this roof would keep on coming off even if it were repaired. There were questions about the workmanship involved (done by previous owners in 2002). Mariuz stayed late to put new tarp up and none too soon as we had several inches of driving rain in the following two days. We really were not planning to do the siding on the whole house, but were going to redo the chimney in a neutral color and hopefully get to the rest of the house in the next few years. However, putting the roof in correctly was going to result some of the aluminum siding (original to the house) needing to be removed and we really didn't want a patchwork house, so we decided to do the rest of the house at that time. Mariuz was conscious of our budget and was able to help us save some money in some places without affecting the quality of the final results. Ultimately I'm sure doing it all at once saved us some money as well. It was a quite an experience, lots of hammering and things being torn off made for a bit of a mess, but the crews did their best to straighten up as much as possible every night. They came in the morning and stayed until early evening, and the weather was not always cooperative. Sometimes it was low 40s and raining! Also I was concerned about a nesting mourning dove in an arbor vitae right next to the house, and they were careful and didn't disturb her very much if at all, because she never left the nest as far as I know and is now raising babies. The whole project took about 2 weeks give or take a few days, and is completed now. And our house literally looks brand new. People have commented to us several times already how nice it looks :)

The owner responded to my initial call very quickly, was friendly and professional. It took about a week to complete, but that's because the weather prevented working on some days. In our part of the country it's hard to predict the weather so that was no big deal. They arrived around 7:00 am and finished the day around 5:00 pm. If the weather cooperated they would have completed in about 3 days as stipulated. The shingles they recommended was different in color than what we originally had, but we decided to change it. After it was installed it looked fantastic. The design was different than before as well i.e. less uniform in size which added a more modern look to the house. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. The price was reasonable and within my expected price range. If I had to provide a negative comment it would be about their dumpster trailer. It was rather large in our small driveway which made it difficult for my wife to park in the garage.

Over the course of a couple weeks I made several attempts to contact them by phone and email, I finally got a response. He came out to give an estimate, and then I never heard from them again. Totally blew me off. It must be nice to pick and choose who you will work for and who you won't.

Mariusz was professional, average pricing in my opinion. He came out to inspect my roof damage, it was a smaller repair than anticipated, $500 repair. Mariusz's follow ups could be a little quicker, but overall, no issues to report. I would hire Holda again.

He was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, and we were looking forward to receiving an estimate from him. However, it's been five weeks and we still haven't received the estimate. We've called/emailed numerous times and cannot get a response. It's a shame because he really does seem like he'd do quality work.

Marius came out the same day I called to look at the job. He was back within the week to complete the repair. He was prompt & professional. Since I wasn't able to be here when they completed the work, he was willing to send me the invoice after the job was complete. Quick repair, looks great!

Excellent service from my first contact on February 28 to completion of the job on March 7. Aluminum facia was torn from the peak of my second story house. Found Mariusz Holda1138 Thornwood Ct Lake Zurich IL 60047 On Angie's List. Great Ratings so thought that I would try him. Excellent and fast communication. Fair price. Not only repaired damaged sections but also looked over similar areas of the house refastening and caulking where necessary. Would highly reccommend him.

They are excellent! The owner was absolutely wonderful and is a small family business, which I love!

The guys who did the work were awesome. They arrived on time, cleaned up as they were going and were very diligent. The project moved along quickly - with just a few days that they couldn't work due to weather. I had made a small mistake measuring the backing for an outside light and they fixed my mistake quickly and easily. The house looks great. We would hire them again for any work we might need to do!

Mariusz was pleasant and showed up on time. He provided an honest assessment of the roof and indicated there was no damage from hail. I appreciated his honesty, as he could have said there was damage and I would have been none the wiser. He then quoted me to replace the corners of my gutters which leaked. He said he could get out within 2 weeks. I called him after 3 weeks and he said he would be in my area in the next two weeks. I called him another 4 weeks later received the same story. I didn't call him a third time. I considered giving him a higher grade due to his honesty regarding the hail damage but that would be setting the bar too low.

I selected Holda because they had excellent reviews for the most part. The only negatives that I saw had to do with communication issues, so I knew to make sure to follow-up if it took more than a day or two to get a response. They were here a day or so after the insurance company did their examination, gave me a price, sent a contract in about a week, and they were here 2 days later. They were on time and cleaned up all debris from the work. Price was a slightly more than we received from insurance company for this work, but we got some upgrades on gutters and downspouts as we felt the original gutters/downspouts were a little undersized for this house and we had many problems previously with overflow even though gutters were clean. So overall feel that the price was reasonable and the end result is very good. Our first rain has just occurred and everything is working very well and the work was well done and is beautiful to look at. We are very happy with our first (but not last) experience with Holda Construction.

After an initial misunderstanding, everything went well. Between the contractor working on my house, the owner of the company & an associate from their company everything was fixed and handled flawlessly.

Project went amazingly well; and was completed on time and within budget. Communications and advice were excellent. The quality of the work was excellent. There were no surprises. I would definitely recommend and use Holda Construction in the future.

The siding on my detached, two story, two-car garage was partially rotted and beyond repair. I solicited offers from 3 different siding providers. Mariusz from Holda Construction was professional, knowledgeable, and giving with his time over the phone to discuss the individual options. He made himself available during the weekend to review the job. We ended up going with John Hardie siding and Holda Construction. I couldn't be happier. Mariusz and his team were on time each day during the process (removal of old siding and installation of new, including window and door trim, took four days) and the quality of their work was excellent. This property was being rented at the time and Holda was very courteous with my tenant and worked with his timing during the process. I would absolutely recommend Holda to anyone looking for services he offers.

Our wood frame chimney had a section of siding that appeared to have water damage. I called Holda and asked if they could replace the damaged siding. He said he could do the job and gave me a list of materials that he needed. I purchased the materials and his team showed up on the scheduled day to work on the project. As they pulled off the damaged siding, it became evident that the damage was much greater than it appeared on the surface. The fact of the matter was that the water damage covered a good portion of the chimney and went back though the plywood and even into some of the framing. We agreed that they would do a temporary job to carry me over until we could get the materials to do the entire job properly. They ordered the materials and had them delivered in a couple of days and then came back and did the work. The job took his 2 person team a couple of days. The finished work looks fantastic and I was able to later confirm with a roofing specialist that they did a very good job with the flashing to ensure that the water damage issue would not come back. The project came in cheaper than I would have expected and they did not charge me for the first day of "throw away" work when we discovered how extensive the damage was. I would definitely recommend Holda in the future.

Mariusz Holda and his company (Holda Construction) did a fantastic job! I found them on Angie's list and they did not disappoint. I had them redo my soffit, fascia, and replace the gutters around my entire house. They were on time, efficient, very professional, and did a great job cleaning up after the job was done. They did miss replacing the fascia over a small narrow spot above my back door and one of my windows but it was an easy spot to miss because of the location. When I pointed it out to them they quickly apologized and installed the missing piece w/in the week. They fixed the gutter on the front of my house so that the downspout now was draining in a better direction. I was so pleased with their work on the house, I hired them to replace the roof on my shed and garage. New gutters were also installed on the garage. Both jobs were done in the same timely, efficient manner, and again, they cleaned up after themselves well. I was most impressed with Mariusz?s dedication to not only the quality of his work, but also the aesthetics. He saw the color choice I had picked for the garage gutters and took the time to tell me in the politest, most professional way possible that it was going to "stick out like a sore thumb" and that it would not look very good. He suggested a different color and I went w/his choice. I was glad I did; it looks fantastic and I can see he was right about the other color being wrong. Many other people wouldn't have cared if the color was going to look odd as long as they had their money. I appreciate the time he took to talk to me and to make sure that I would have gutters that not only worked well, but also ones that complimented the overall aesthetic of the house and garage. And all of this for a very reasonable price.

Unfortunately, things haven't gone well since. It's been over 10 days now and I still haven't received his estimate. After a couple of days, I sent an email as a follow-up asking when I would receive it and never got a response. A few days after that, I called and spoke to Carol (I'm assuming his office manager) and stated that I was still waiting for an estimate, gave her my cell phone number and she said she would check into it and let me know. It's been another 4 days and still no response. So, I do not plan on hiring them. They make a good first impression when you set up an appointment, but their follow-up customer service is poor and does not give me confidence that they would be responsive if I hired them.

The crews performing the work were professional, courteous, diligent, and extremely qualified. The work was performed in a prompt manner and took approximately one week from start to total completion. No surprise or upsell. All upgrades were initiated by myself after recognizing what a reasonable price was offered. The end result was a beautiful and totally saisfactory completion. No trick coupons or pressure, just extremely fair pricing and great workmanship. Other vendors were 3-5 thousand dollars more and did not fully include the total package. All top quality name brands used. Family owned buisness is very user friendly and concerned with their clientles satisfaction. Five stars out of 5 stars+.

At the beginning of August this year there was a hail storm that ripped thru the West Ridge/West Rogers Park area that did a number on our roof and many other homes in the area. There were ?ambulance chasers? in our area immediately soliciting business and offering $500.00 to put their sign in your yard as advertisement ? NO THANK YOU!! I did my homework and found Holda Construction and reached out to them about our needs. From the moment that I spoke to them until the end of the project I KNEW that I picked the correct contractor to do the job. This is a family owned/operated business and you can tell how much they care about the task at hand as well as the happiness of their customers. I worked with Mariusz (President/Owner) and Carolyn the entire time and felt like I was part of their family from the very first meeting. I never felt any pressure during the entire process and sought out their opinion on what would be best for our home. Mariusz was honest and told us what would work best and what wasn?t really necessary if we didn?t want to spend the money. He never tried to ?sell us? anything! He answered all of our questions and was very patient with us during the entire process. We?ve never had to replace our roof, gutters and siding before (thank goodness) so it was a learning experience for my family and couldn?t have asked for a better one. The crew that worked on our house was very prompt each morning and worked late each night ? easily putting in 10 hours or more each day. I was in no hurry for them to complete the job because it's the roof of the house and I wanted to make sure it was done properly and with care. Now that the project is over, I stand back at look at my roof/gutters/siding compared to my neighbors and LOVE what I see. I would recommend Holda Construction to anyone who needs a new roof, gutters and or siding replaced. They are fantastic in every sense of the word!!! Thank you!
