First, I would like to say that the quality of the work was excellent. The two roofers, Mark and Martin, were very professional and they always made sure they cleaned up the work site every day. We experienced delays for several reasons, most out of the control of the contractor, but through it all the Holda Construction and their crew maintained their commitment to quality and workmanship. Even some of our neighbors told us how impressed they were with the crew. In addition, some of the issues found once construction started caused increases in the cost of the project, yet all those costs were covered willingly by the contractor through their commitment to the fixed price we were given. When unforeseen issues occurred, I would have liked to see more communication, but overall we are extremely happy and would recommend Holda Construction to my friends and family.

I had 5 roofing companies come out for estimates. Everyone who gave me an estimate were very pleasant and thorough. I was impressed with Mariusz Holda, because this is his company. He had a personal stake in making sure the job was done right. I knew right away I was going to have his company do the job. They did not disappoint me. His crew did a great job! They were at my home when they said they would be and the roof, gutters and new chimneys look great! I would highly recommend Holda Construction. I recently needed about 3 ft of soffit repaired due to wind damage, and I called Holda and they came out and fixed my soffit fast and efficiently. I think they do great work, you won't be disappointed. Also Carolyn in the office is wonderful to work with she keeps you well informed. Thanks for a great job.

Mariusz, the owner, provided the estimate and listened to my concerns and offered practical solutions. He also set expectations with me on what results are possible. Our gutters had been installed incorrectly a few years ago. Another firm had pointed that out but Mariusz addressed the issue were having in the winter with ice. Made total sense after he pointed out that there was not sufficient ventilation. He used my neighbor's home to illustrate his point, which is a similar design. The office was very responsive in scheduling the workers and calling if a change was going to happen due to weather. The crew who did the work were prompt, professional, and cleaned up after the work was finished. The crew that installed the gutters worked tirelessly to finish before the storms arrived. This is the best experience I have had with working with a third party on a home project.

I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the work, the value, and the customer service from Holda Construction. I have a 100+ year old house in Roscoe Village that had a bad siding job with cheap insulation underneath. Given the age of the house I didn't want to overspend, but I consider myself a stickler for quality. I originally planned to go with all new vinyl siding and insulation, as well as new window trim. I got one quote from another provider that rates extremely well on Angies List for $16,600. That seemed a bit on the high side to me. I then called Holda based on the strength of his reviews on Angies List. Mario Holda came out personally. He met with me, showed me some of his prior work, walked the house with me, asking and answering my questions. He did not try to up-sell me at all. He looked me in the eye and told me that he would guarantee the finest quality work. I really took his word for it - he had a very genuine manner to him and really instilled confidence. After about 30-45 with Mario, he went back to his car and prepared a quote, which he emailed me on the spot. The quote was for $12,000. I was surprised at the difference in price from the other provider for identical scope of work. In addition, having asked around, I knew that there is a big difference in quality of siding installers out there, and so I would regret going with a less reputable company even if I could get a better price than Holda's. After doing more research, I decided to go with Holda, but let him know that I was considering some modifications to the original proposal - specifically, the possibility of James Hardie siding on the front of the house as well as enhanced window/door trims. Mario came out personally again, went over my options with me, and gave me a revised quote based on the additional work I requested. Again, I felt a lot of confidence that I would get real quality work that Mario would stand behind. I paid him the deposit on the spot. Mario's two-man crew spent 10.5 days at my house! They were there from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, two consecutive weeks, plus a half day on the first Saturday. They cleaned up each day before leaving and were very pleasant and polite throughout the whole process. And best of all they were real perfectionists. There simply was no compromise in the quality and the precision of the work - I know because I happened to be at home several of the days they were working. Plus they went above and beyond the contract specifications and fixed some small things they came across. In addition, Mario came out at least 3 times that I am aware of to check in on the progress of the work. Mario also called me twice to gauge my satisfaction and to discuss project specifics with me. The end product is a real dream come true. I feel so much better about the house - with new insulation, new wrap, and beautiful and perfectly installed gleaming new siding throughout, including JH siding on the front and JH shake above the gable. The wooden window/door trims also added a great look to the house. Mario called me after the work was done one last time to make sure I was perfectly satisfied, which I am. All in all, I cannot recommend Holda Construction highly enough.

I was given an appointment time (and had it confirmed via email) for someone to come out to find out more about our project. That morning, I received a phone call stating that the appointment would need to be pushed back to the afternoon. I rearranged my schedule so that the appointment could take place nearly 6 hours later. The appointment did take place, photos were taken, and I was told that I would receive a quote via email. I waited almost a week (wanting to make a final decision for our project) and then emailed to inquire about the quote. It was not ready. It's been 2 weeks and I never received a quote or further communication. This review is not based upon any actual services provided - I was just disappointed that I wasted my time and kept another contractor waiting (who we have since hired).

We had a gutter that had broken and detached from the roof. I called around and Holda was one of the few to respond right away. They did have someone in the area that day but unfortunately we missed our window of opportunity. they came out a few days later and were able to take care of the repair while we were at work. The repair cost was a little higher than we expected but given the urgency of the fix and their quick response, I was overall happy with their service.

I came home Friday evening and couldn't tell if the siding had been taken off in the problem area or not. On closer inspection where the gutter was, I noticed it looked a little different. I had also asked him to repair some cracked vinyl siding in the back on my sun room, and that had been done. It looked great.Turns out he removed the siding in the problem area, but the issue also extended to the back of the house. He said that it had not been done correctly and didn't want to leave it that way, so he ended up repairing that also. WOW, someone quoted me a price, did exactly what he said he would do, did it so well, I couldn't tell the siding had been removed and put back on, saw something else that needed to be done and DID IT at no extra charge. How often does this happen people? THANK YOU.

set appointment for exterior work, required my presence (time off work needed). 10 minutes after appointment time, 8 am today, I get a call that it will be 8:25 before he can arrive. I advise at 8:30 I depart. Holda shows at 8:30 with adolescent son in tow for quote with nothing in hand, clip board or paper to produce a quote. I refuse to shake his hand, he refuses to quote. . Wasted my time, and was clearly unprofessional.

Quick and professional initial consultation with multiple options presented and pros/cons discussed, then within 1 week new gutters were installed. It's been 1 year since the install and no issues have been seen yet.

Marius contacted me to schedule an estimate to replace my windows. He was a few minutes late for the appointment, but he called to let me know he was running late so it was no big deal. He did some measurements, talked with me and told me he would email me an estimate. I wrote down my email and phone number. 6 days later, I had not been contacted, so I called Marius and left a message. He called back and gave me another number to call; when I reached him there, he explained that he had the estimate done but (for some reason that remained unexplained) he had not sent it to me, yet. He assured me, though, that the estimate would be sent right away. Two days after that, I still had not been contacted, nor had I received an estimate. At this point, I contacted Marius to let him know that I was no longer interested: if it was too difficult for him to provide me with an estimate, I was not interested in using his company to provide me with windows. All in all, this felt like a stereotypical 'overbooked contractor' experience, and I would not contact them again in the future, I'm afraid.

Mariusz from Holda Construction was very prompt with responding to my initial message/inquiry for an estimate. He was able to come over and provide an estimate in a very timely manner. From the point of first communication to the final walk-through, Mariusz and the workers on his team were extremely professional and honest. They were always willing to answer my questions so that I understood what was going on. In fact, Mark, the senior guy on the team, was on-site everyday even when Mariusz was not, and explained extra step of the process...very polite and knowledgeable. They are experienced with properly installing some of these high end materials (James Hardie and LP Smart Side). In the end, the garage looks better than brand-new. The service is not the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for: high quality with great service. I would highly recommend Holda Construction for your siding needs.

Our home had hail damage from the April 9 storm- immediate visable damage was to the siding- we had about 20-25 holes. After calling our insurance adjuster, he determined that we needed a new roof as well. I had NO clue where to go- googled for about an hour on contractors- and became frustrated. So, I used Angie's List. Holda Construction- met and exceeded our expectations- Mariusz was friendly, pleasant, listened to our concerns, was prompt. His crew was the same. I was so impressed that I told all my neighbors who had hail damage to give him a call. Needless to say- our street should be renamed Holda Street. He not only replaced our roof with quality materials, upgraded our siding, and when we asked him to put some additional insulation on- his answer was "no problem" and upgraded that as well. And stayed within the insurance company's price. I have no hesitation when I say- Call them! They are Great!!!

Hulda Construction did a thoroughly professional job for us. He paid attention to what we wanted and worked with us to provide a quality product/service we would like. He is a very patient man who left us many a sample over a two month period as we made up our minds. He provided references and what really sold us was when one of those references said they were going to ask him back to do some more work. I would highly recommend Mr. Hulda to anyone who asks.

The contractor came to my house tried to sell me an upgrade over the fixed price I paid and when I was not interested in the proposal did not honor the program. I could not get a refund from Angies List so I wasted $280.00....I would not recommend either the service or Angies List

It went awesome. Mariouz was very responsive in meeting our needs. His price was more than reasonable. His crew arrived on time and did more than he said he was going to do from the pictures and secured our other fascia with nails to prevent further damage as well as added an elbow on our gutter. I have had a lot of bad experiences with other contractors that weren't responsive to sales inquiries or didn't do what they say. We have other projects and will use Holda Construction for the outside projects. Too bad they don't do inside remodeling projects because we have some of those on the radar as well.

Mariusz from Holda was very friendly and very attentive. He always answered his phone or returned my calls promptly. Very professional as were his workers. The job was done in a timely manner and the results look great! They even did a little extra work without charging me extra. I would definitly use them again and recommend them to anybody looking for an honest, reliable contractor!

I can highly recommend Mariusz / Holda Construction. The quality of their work is second to none and at a reasonable price - a great value. In addition, Holda Construction was extremely courteous and respectful. We quoted several contractors prior to contracting with Holda. Holda was the only company to take the time to listen to our concerns and address these concerns with well thought out ideas. Further, Mariusz and his crew brought additional architectural detail ideas when there were options for our consideration. Several neighbors have commented on just how great the house looks (the first time these neighbors have even spoken to us!). Mariusz delivered the quality product he stated Holda would. I have no reservation about using Holda in the future for other work.

The crew showed up on Friday, were polite and professional, very proficient. Installed the new gutters as they said, replaced a piece of wood that was no good! They were done by 3:30pm! The gutters looked great. Mr. holds came back out to make sure that the job was done to our satisfaction- which it was, without a doubt! We even talked to our neighbor about the work and he gave her an estimate right there. We were very satisfied with Holda Construction and will definitely use them again, shortly, to do the soffit and fascia! Highly reccommended!!

Very professional work--concerned about the job being done right. Answered questions clearly. Gave options and helpful recommendations. Promptly provided what was needed for insurance. They were extremely easy to contact and great response. Although there were weather delays, the process went as well as possible. A neighbor who knows siding was admiring their work. Excellent job with clean up. We would highly recommend them. (Note: this is the third time we have had a home sided [in various communities--the other two not in the area]).
