Ken and his team did a great job for me in proposing a high efficiency furnace system and squeezing it all into a small space. Their twice a year servicing since the 2002 installation has resulted in no service interruptions at all. Great job!!

Very nice and knowledgeable HVAC pro. He spent the most time with me, gave me good information and did a 'load calculation', which the help sites say you should get, but almost no one else did. He gave me pricing on a Trane HVAC, and I decided to go for the slightly cheaper Lennox with my current service company, but of the 5 bids I got, he was one of the top 2 in his attitude, professionalism and knowledge and easy to get on the phone. He even sent me a thank you note after he knew I was using someone else for the work!

The appt was to be between 9 and 11. Marty called me at 8:50 and told me he would be there at 9 am. He was there at 9 am sharp and proceeded to look things over and tell me what the problem may be. Fortunately it was none of those things - he cleaned up the furnace and it works fine. The best thing is Marty found that my water heater was not properly installed so he took some of his time free of charge and fixed it. I couldn't be happier with 5 star heating.

They did a great job. Out of the 3 contractors I contacted, they were the only ones that were enthusiastic about selling me a high efficiency furnace. They went way out of their way to volunteer to help me to get it through the homeowners association and to get a city permit. They have been fantastic and they did a great job with the installation. They were top notch. They gave me a great price. We had a small problem with the humidifier and they came over and rectified it immediately and explained to me what was wrong. They were right on time.

He was neat, through, professional, and polite. Although I was not there he explained everything to my wife. She, in turn, understood, and found it both clear and honest.

The fan on our condenser stopped running so we contacted the HVAC contractor who had done work on our house in the past. They told us that the fan motor was dead and we had two options: 1. replace the fan motor and perform some electrical repairs ($780) or 2. replace the entire condenser along with the coils ($3,100). I contacted Five Star to get a second price and they informed me that my fan motor was in good condition. The reason it was not functioning was a failed capacitor and some faulty wiring. They had the parts in the truck and were able to fix it in an hour for $280. The tech from Five Star was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He arrived when he said he would, did the required work for the agreed upon price. At no point did he try to up-sell me or exaggerate the size of the problem, despite the fact that we have an older HVAC system. I strongly recommend Five Star, and I shall have them bid on the job when we replace our furnace and AC system next year.

After the debacle with Company #1, I called Five Star. The woman was pleasant and professional. Because it was a busy time of year, and not an emergency, she set me up for an appointment two weeks later. The technician arrived on time, serviced the conditioner, answered questions, gave me some helpful hints to keep my filter in place, told me about the company's plan, gave me a discount for using Angie's List and left. Later in the day when I returned, I noticed the house was hot and the air conditioner was making noises. I went outside to learn the fan was not rotating on the unit. I called their hot line, which created a few unpleasant problems due to the hot line operator [I felt like I was trying to get into Fort Knox],, but soon after, Ken, the manager, called and told me a technician would be out in a few hours. [It was the hottest day and night of the year]. I stayed up until 11 pm.; no call, no technician. We sweated through the hot evening not able to sleep. But at 6:45 am, the phone rang. The technician apologized immediately for not getting to my house and for not calling. He was at my house within 15 minutes. He replaced the part that caused the problem. Because I joined the plan the day before, I already enjoyed a %age off my bill, and I didn't have to pay for a service call, only the part needed. I paid and he left. Even though I was upset about the hot evening and the poor response for an emergency of that night, the technician made up for it in his call. For that reason, I gave them a "B" in responsiveness, instead of an "A". MY former air/heating company went out of business after my using them for 20+ years, and I was looking for another company. After trying one local company, I settled on Five Star. I was overall very pleased with their service and I would give them another try.

They came right out to give me an estimate as well as to do the installation. They were punctual and made sure to clean up any messes that were made. The price for the equipment and the work was fair.

Scheduling a technician to come out was no problem. He was running late due to an earlier appointment, but called a few times during the day to inform us. Performed the work required and kept us informed the whole time.

Great from start to finish. Bill came over and gave us an estimate on systems. No high pressure, but took plenty of time to answer all our questions and make us feel comfortable with our ultimate decision. After getting their estimate, we got another and felt in the price comparison game, 5-Star was on par with the rest. As for installation, they were extremely professional, even when the installation turned out to not be as easy as they had hoped. They layed down mats, cleaned up their messes, and took plenty of time to show us how to run the new system, which by the way runs great.

On the day of installation, 2 technicians came at around 8am and finished around 2pm. They were very professional. The work was done as expected. And the site was clean after they left. They rerouted the gas line to the spa water heater for us for easier access to the furnace air filter. It went very well. The unit is working fine. Comfort with the new, advanced furnace is much better than the old one which we replaced.

Five Star came the same day we called them after our basement flooded. The technician, Marty, cleaned out our hot water heater and checked the lines for safety. We were glad to have hot water again, but they charged us $260, almost the cost of a new hot water heater. He inspected our furnace, but he had to order the parts and come back another day. He called us later that day with a quote of $1565 to put in a new motor and circuit board. We got a few other quotes that were cheaper, but we decided to go with Five Star because they had installed the furnace for the previous owners. On the day of the appointment to install the new parts, Marty arrived an hour and a half later than the scheduled time, but called to let us know he was running late. He showed us a quote that was $200 dollars higher than what he said on the phone. Eventually he agreed to do the work for the originally quoted price. In addition to installing the parts, he cleaned the furnace inside and out, which we appreciated. He charged us an additional $75 for an annual cleaning and inspection. He did make us feel like he was doing us a big favor and that we were getting away with something by having the work done for the originally quoted price. He also tacked on an additional $20 deposit without asking us for next spring's annual cleaning and inspection. Since we clean our filters every 3 months, I feel two cleanings and inspections a year at $95 a visit is excessive. We might use them again because we like the quality of work, but we will definitely get all quotes in writing ahead of time.

Timely estimate given by Bill, who praised the work of his crews. Workmen arrived, and Bill was right! Work performed in a professional manner, and workers (Dave especially) went above and beyond to not only perform the required work, but also noticed a problem with our water heater installation, and fixed without an additional charge.

I called late and they got to us quickly. The gentleman they sent was AWESOME! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything and gave me some great knowledge about our furnace and water heater.

The reason I say 1.5 guys is that a second guy came and went helping out here and there when needed. When I called 5 star, they were professional and organized. The prices were great and they walked me through the pros and cons of getting a water heater verses an instant water heater that I was inquiring about. They made it easy to see what was right for us.

Calls were returned quickly. They came out to give an estimate. They were on time, the carpeting was protected with tarps as they worked. While it took 8 hours, the work seemed speedily done. All our questions were answered. They cleaned up better than any other workman we'd ever had. All in all we are very happy with Five Star & their men.

Better than expected. Dave and Bill were very professional. They answered every question I had, taught me alot about the furnace and water heater, made recommendations for improving temperature in my son's room, and the work space was spotless when they were done. They did not appear to be in any hurry, although the work seemed timely. They assured me that quality and service were their top priorities, and that they would spend as much time as needed to answer questions and make sure that the installation went smoothly. If you are looking for a Trane system, this company is highly recommended. The price was comparable to other companies for similar products, but the warranty and the air filter were much better.

Extremely efficient, on time and their fees are very reasonable. They gave me suggestions to make the job easier and it really saved me time and money. I will definitely continue to use them and would and have highly recommended them to others!

They're very knowledgeable and seemed honest. They did more work than I thought was needed at no extra charge. They did good work. They weren't the cheapest, but I feel they were the best.

THE OWNER CAME OUT AND GAVE ME THE IMPRESSION THAT HE WANTED TO SELL US TOO MUCH UNNECESSARY EQUIPMENT (EX: NEW THERMOSTAT, ELECTRIC AIR FILTER, ETC.) AND GAVE US TWO PRETTY HIGH ESTIMATES FOR THE WORK. ALSO, HE GAVE ME A BAD IMPRESSION WHEN IN TWO FOLLOW-UP PHONE CALLS HE ADDRESSED MY HUSBAND BY NAME AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR HIM. I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY RUDE SINCE HE HAD NEVER MET MY HUSBAND AND I WAS THE ONE WHO ULTIMATELY MADE THE PURCHASING DECISION. WE WENT WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY, WHO SEEMED VERY REASONABLE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL.

KEN WAS PLEASANT TO WORK WITH AND VERY PATIENT WITH MY HUSBAND AS THEY NEGOTIATED THE DEAL. THE TOTAL COST WAS HIGH AS A RESULT OF THE MODELS WE CHOSE, BUT THEY WORKED WITH US TO GET OUR BUSINESS. INSTALLERS WERE ON TIME, POLITE & MADE EVERY EFFORT TO WORK AROUND OUR FAMILY. I GOT THEM FROM ANGIE'S LIST & WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE EXPERIENCE. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO REFER THEM TO FRIENDS.

THE OWNER CAME OUT TO ASSESS WHY OUR AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. HE CAME OUT THE VERY DAY I CALLED & SPENT HOURS IN MY HOME. HE NOT ONLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, HE ALSO EDUCATED ME ON HOW AIR-CONDITIONING WORKS, ETC. VERY FRIENDLY AND EXPERIENCED.
