I've used them before.

We drove 30 miles one way to meet Dave (the owner) to go over the work needing to be done. He never showed. He never called. After one hour past appt time, I called his cell. He said he forgot to check his computer to see if he had any appointments today, and was currently on a job. He suggested we reschedule. Not likely.

The job went very well. DLS even took on an extra job of repairing and installing the porch banister. It brought new life into the look of my 35 year old house and the curb appeal that it needed.

We initially called Dave to get an estimate on replacing some plants. While walking around, he noticed that the ground on one side of the house sloped toward the basement. (We had another landscaper do some work a couple of years ago but, although work was done in that area, nothing was mentioned about that problem). We are very pleased with everything. Dave spent quite a bit of time at the house ensuring everything was going well and helped when needed. I would highly recommend this company.

I called mid-day on a Monday and reached a machine. I left a message requesting a callback to discuss yard service. Called again mid-day Tuesday and repeated the request. It's now mid-day Wednesday and I've still heard nothing. Not even the common courtesy to return my call.

I had used DLS landscaping for lawn care and liked their quality work. This time I needed a new tree for the front yard. When I called, I talked to the owner, Dave. He was very helpful in giving me suggestions about what kind of tree to put in and where to find a good hearty tree. He offered to pick out a tree for me where he gets volume discounts and pass on the savings. His overall price included picking out the tree, delivering it and planting it. When the tree was delivered, Dave came with the crew. They very carefully unloaded and moved the tree to it's new "home" and did a terrific job planting it. Dave even brought extra nutrient rich planting material to be used to ensure the tree's success.

I am very happy with this company. They are really good at what they do.

Dave was great. DLS was very professional from initial call to job completion. Everything was done when they said it would be done, on time and within budget. We couldn't be happier. The design was well suited to our front yard and our tastes. I would highly recommend them!

Dave directed me to an architect that he works with and we drew up a blue print for the entire yard. Dave came a couple days later than he originally committed to, but I understand that planning months in advance is difficult. His crew worked tirelessly for about 2 weeks. They had to remove a wall with very deep footings. Dave checked in often and made sure things were going as planned. I love my new yard! I will definitely call him when the budget allows for finishing the back yard.

I was extremely pleased with the job. Dave was flexible, creative, and enthusiastic when I described what I had in mind to do and he helped with the design of the garden bed. His crew put in a long day but did not quit until the job was complete. Dave called the next day to make sure I was satisfied before sending the bill.

I had actually requested a fall cleanup, so they weren't exactly expecting what they walked in to. However, the workers just jumped in and did such a wonderful job that I hired them for snow removal services and I will definitely use them next spring to get my yard in a healthy condition.

I called to contract for snow removal for the winter. They quoted a price of $35 per plow with a $15 surcharge if it snowed 3''or more. They would come plow the driveway, sidewalk, and walkway every time it snowed 1'' or more. She told me that they try their best to plow everyone's house by 7 a.m. She told me that I was going to be ok for the storm that was forecast for that night. That they would continue to plow w/o the contract as long as I signed it and sent it back as soon as it arrived in the mail. That night we got 10''of snow. At 9 a.m. they had not yet plowed so we called. David Swanson answered and told us that they were really busy with the storm and that they would come around 1-2pm. Further, he said that this would be a one time thing because they had enough business in palatine and rolling meadows. And to go flag down someone doing a neighbors driveway and contract with them. By 3:30 p.m. it was still not done so we called and told them not to come. We did it ourselves

I'll have to keep searching for a plow service. Hopefully they're not all like this.

Every fall DLS Landscaping offers a special on lawn aeration and I have taken advantage of the great price for a number of years now. You can't even rent a core aeration machine and do it yourself for this price.

DLS Landscaping plowed my driveway automatically whenever the snow accumulated more than two inches. The work was performed during the night and always before I needed to get out of my garage and before the neighborhood kids walked to school in the morning. I used another plowing service in the past but DLS did the job better and at a better price!

On the evening a storm damaged a large tree, that landed on our back patio, I called Dave Swanson. Dave's crew removed the tree the next morning. Dave personally supervised the work to ensure the tree would fall without damaging our house or landscaping. I have used DLS Landscaping for the past three years and they are very responsive, fairly priced, and do a great job. We also use DLS to plow our driveway and shovel our sidewalks.
