+ -1 moreThey had cages set up in the evening and came back the next day to check on the cages. There was always a pest animal to be removed and that was done promptly. Have used Critter Control probably 3 or 4 times over the last 4 years. A very good experience and would use them again.

+ -1 moreA raccoon got in the basement overnite. I called them at 8:20 in the morning, they were at my house by 9:30. The service man, Eric was awesome. The raccoon was hiding and he didnt want to just leave a trap so he looked everywhere. Finally he located the little bugger. It was an uncooperative pest but Eric got him. These guys are great. The lady in the office was nice, gave me a quote right away and everything happened as she said. Dont bother going anywhere else, give these guys your business

+ -1 moreOnce it was apparent that we had an animal in our attic (Sunday Morning), Critter Control was able to schedule a visit on Monday. The individual was prompt, professional, and efficient. The employee set up two traps and checked the traps every day for 5 days straight, he was able to capture two squirrels, and offered to install an encasing around the area where the squirrels were entering the attic. If there is any qualms I had, it would have been the pricing of the traps, and removal of the critters. I didn't expect the cost to be so high.
Description of Work: Traps were set, critters were caught and disposed of, entry point was covered.

+ 0 morewe have dogs, so I was concerned about their safety. the bait stations worked well, and after a few weeks the few rats were gone. the bait stations were sized for rats, and I did not see squirrels or our dogs going for them. chipmunks also seemed unaffected since they were hibernating since this occurred in the fall. the operator was thorough, informed and answered the questions I asked. it all seemed very efficient. we have dogs, so I was concerned about their safety. the bait stations worked well, and after a few weeks the few rats were gone. the bait stations were sized for rats, and I did not see squirrels or our dogs going for them. chipmunks also seemed unaffected since they were hibernating since this occurred in the fall. the operator was thorough, informed and answered the questions I asked. it all seemed very efficient.

+ 0 moreIt couldn't have gone much better, except that the raccoons had to be put down. But that wasn't Critter Control's fault.
Description of Work: Checking the attic for presence of raccoons; removal of raccoons and checking for any remaining critters. In the course of having a hole in our roof repaired we needed to determine whether we had a raccoon living in our attic or not . We called Critter Control and made an appointment for an inspection. Brad (I hope I have his name right) was right on time and got right to work. Very shortly he had made eye contact with a raccoon in our attic. He immediately put a trap on the roof, explained the process to me, and was off. All in all, about an hour or less. Within a day or two the bait disappeared with no raccoon to show for it. Brad came out very promptly and reset the trap. Within a day or two after that we had our critter. He checked it out to determine that it was a female and promptly went to check for babies. Not finding any he put the trap and the 'c*** in his truck. I asked what would happen to her and he was very kind in explaining that she would have to be put down and why. Before leaving he set an "indicator" on the roof to determine if anything else was coming or going. Within a few days we had a quote for "remediation" -- clean-out - and shortly after that we were able to have our roof repaired. Critter Control was great in helping us deal with a difficult situation. I can definitely recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreThey first came and set traps for the skunks because we thought that we had skunks underneath our deck. We didn't catch anything, but found out it was not a skunk. My overall experience with them was excellent. I would use their service in the future if needed.

+ -1 moreI was hearing bird noises inside my house, apparently in the venting leading from over the oven to an exterior vent on the side of the house. Then, I noticed birds seems to be coming in and out of that exterior vent, carrying twigs. It turned out that they were lifting the screen that covered the vent and were starting to build a nest. I called Critter Control and they were able to send JP out the next day. They said I would get a call between 8 and 9 a.m. giving me a two-hour window for the service, and that occurred. JP and his colleague arrived at 10:30 a.m. Fortunately, the nest had not gotten too far along and so it was easy to remove the debris. Then, JP drilled a mesh wire screen to cover the vent and prevent bird access. This still allowed the screen that was already in place to open and close when the oven fan was on, but while depriving birds of access. I was relieved that the situation could be handled quickly and easily. JP was professional, and quite pleasant in explaining my situation to me. So, my experience with Critter Control was quite positive. The moral of the story -- act promptly when you suspect you have a problem. This could have been much worse.

+ -1 moreFirst visit I had to provide a ladder, and he checked the attic. Determined that he didn't have what he needed to close the vents off and scheduled a return visit. Second visit I again had to supply the ladder, but he closed off both entry points for the cost of one (since he had had to reschedule) and did a quick and clean job of it.
Description of Work: Removed birds nest and blocked two vent entrys in the attic.

+ -1 moreEric explained that groundhogs are very hard to trap, so it took about 6 weeks to complete this process. He was patient and left the traps in place even when we went through a time period where we weren't sure if the animals were still in the yard or if they had left. When an animal was in the cage, we would call early morning so it could be picked up in a timely manner. Eric also gave me some tips on how to discourage groundhogs from settling in under the deck in the future. We have tried to trap groundhogs in the past using different companies, and this was by far the most successful effort we ever had. Eric was very easy to work with and very knowledgeable in this field.
Description of Work: I contacted Critter Control when I had Mom and 6 baby groundhogs living under my deck. They were quick to understand my concern and had Eric stop by my house. I explained the situation and told him where I had seen the groundhogs around the deck and running in the yard to a tree line by the street. Eric set 2 traps and very patiently kept them baited and monitored them until we had captured Mom and 5 babies. We have not seen any indication that the 6th baby groundhog is still in the yard or under the deck.

+ -1 moreWe called and were able to get someone out to our house the next day. Two men arrived in the "window" of time we were given and took care of the wasp problem. Using their ladder, they went up to the 2nd story roof and sprayed both areas and checked for other activity. We had used Critter Control before for chipmunks problems and were very satisfied and so we thought we would try them for the wasps. Once again, pleased with their service.

+ -1 moreThe service was not only prompt, but early which is OK by me. I described the problem (I had heard a scratching sound in my living room wall a few days earlier). As luck would have it the sound had stopped by now. The rep told me it was not unusual for say, a mouse to get caught up in a wall's insulation and the sound I was hearing was its attempt to free itself. Since the sound had stopped, he said the mouse either freed itself or may have died. He inspected the crawlspace attic and he inspected the roof. He said he did not see any openings that would allow animals in, but he did find evidence of mouse droppings in the attic, but no mice. That might explain the possible mouse in my wall. He came in the attic and according to the rep may have fell into the wall. The rep offered to set traps in the attic for mice, but I passed on that. He said that if there were any other problems in the near future, there would be no charge for the next service call, just a charge for whatever service was needed beyond an inspection. Since I have never inspected my attic or roof, this gave me some peace of mind that there were no large openings.
Description of Work: The service rep arrived early, checked in the attic and on the roof for any signs of "criiters", any openings whereby they can get into the house, and any evidence that any had gained access.

+ -1 moreI called and explained the situation at 8:30 AM and a serviceman was out later that morning. He surveyed the area where they were tunneling on the side of the house as well as checking the yard for evidence and giving the perimeter of the house a thorough look for any obvious points of entry. He set two outside traps and one in the garage. He also calked an opening by the AC hose that goes into the home. He was very knowledgeable and passed on some good prevention tips for the future concerning where the mice like to burrow. I have not seen any mice on the side of the house since and both outside traps were successful in capturing/killing the mice. I also made some modifications in the fine mulch the mice liked to burrow into and replaced the area with pea gravel. The bait used by them was far more successful than the kind of stuff you can get at a hardware or big box store. I have used this company before to get rid of raccoons under a deck. They are very good and respond quickly.
Description of Work: The problem was one of voles (field mice) on the side of our house and garage. Two had also entered our family room via a connecting door to our garage. I had taken care of the two that were in the house.

+ 0 moreSatisfied though we wish some squirrels had been removed. After the traps were placed, we no longer heard noises in the attic, and Eric never removing any animals from the traps. He suggested that perhaps raccoons scared the squirrels away but whatever the case, good news! Eric was very professional and knowledgeable.

+ -1 moreI called the company on Monday, June 21 and was told since I was not going to be at home the next day, they would send someone out and that person would call me on my cell phone the next day between 8 and 9 am. I didn't hear anything so later on Tuesday, I called again just to be sure I'd given them my correct phone number--I had and I was assured the technician would call me within the next 2-3 hours. It is now Friday and I still haven't heard from the company and I still have a racoon living in the soffet of the garage. I just called and the person who answered the phone said she didn't have a connection to the office but she would pass the information along that I was dissatisfied that I hadn't heard from anyone and was going to call someone else. I can't speak to the quality of the work because I never heard back from them--I can only speak to their responsiveness which was unsatisfactory to me.
Description of Work: No work was performed due to never hearing back from them.

+ -1 moreThey responded the day affer calling and before the weekend they captured one adult raccoon and 4 babies. They finished the job by closing the raccoon entry point. I thought the price was a bit high, but the price was not a suprise because they explained the pricing structure before the appointment was made. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Place trap on roof to capture raccoon that was in the attic. When the determined the raccoon was a female feeding babies, they went into the attic to capture the babies. Then the placed a cage over the attic fan to keep raccoons from re-entering the attic.

+ -1 moreI was told on the phone that the initial cost was for a house inspection, which I thought was very reasonable. It turned out that the initial cost was for the service call. When the serviceman showed up, I found the only area scheduled for inspection was the roof. I felt the cost was rather high to just check the roof. The serviceman was punctual, polite, and knowledgable. He did check the attic and crawl space and place mice bait in both areas. The overall cost to rid my house of mice and the peace of mind that a larger animal had not invaded my home, was worth it.
Description of Work: Roof and attic were checked for signs of animal damage and mice bait was placed in attic and crawl space.

+ -1 moreWe discovered over 100 yellowjackets (most were dead) in our son's upstairs bedroom after returning home from vacation! They had entered under the eaves, were inside the wall and ate a small hole into the bedroom wall. Our regular Orkin man treated the nest with a powder but could only do so from the inside hole. He said to call Critter Control who has extension ladders to reach the outside 2nd story. We could still see activity from the outside, so I was eager to get this taken care of. JP from CC came as scheduled the day after I called, very promptly. He explained that CC treats yellowjackets with two sprays: first a PT spray into the nest (to kill larva which could normally hatch 1-2 weeks later) and then the powder spray to kill the adult yellow jackets. There were two nests about 12 feet apart that he treated. The yellowjackets were completely gone a few days later, just as he predicted. JP even agreed to search around the rest of our home and removed some wasp combs and sprayed a few areas. They quoted a price range of $135 - 175 and it ended up being the upper end. Since he did more removal/treament around the entire house, I felt that we got our money's worth. We were very pleased with his service and would recommend CC.
Description of Work: Critter Control treated two yellow jacket nests outside our home on the 2nd story. JP used his extension ladder and sprayed with two different treatments, using spray cans with flexible nozzels to reach the areas under the eaves.

Their technician, Josh, was exceptional, explaining that there had been some mouse activity in the basement, but none in quite a while. He was extremely diligent in placing the poison packets in all possible areas of activity. The company also showed great concerned for the welfare of the trapped animals. The cages were modified to provide a sun / rain / privacy cover to protect whatever was caught and to minimize the animal's fright.
Description of Work: Critter Control came to our house to remove chipmunks who have tunneled under our patio, AC unit, and camped in our basement. Josh, the technician, inspected the attic and basement areas for activity. He also placed poison packages all around the attic, basement and an outside storage area. Traps were set at several locations and openings were plugged with newspaper to show evidence of entering or exit. The traps were monitored each day. One chipmunk was caught the first day and two more the next day. All trapped chipmunks were removed the same day they were trapped.
