Critter Control

It was a great process from start to finish.

Work was done promptly and for agreed upon price.

First technician was very thorough and answered all my questions. Each day when the traps were set a different technician would show up. Therefore it was helpful to be home when the technician arrived to be sure he knew of all the locations where the traps were set. Would have been better if the same person showed up each time. If a trap is lost (sometimes a raccoon will drag it away), there is a $55 charge for the trap. On one of the days when I was not at home, the technician left a note on the front door saying what he had done. On another day when I was not home, no note was left.

Brad has come out to our house on two occasions. First visit (summer of 2012): The first visit was to clean out exhaust vents, patch up an area of our roof where birds had gained access to attic space above garage, and install exhaust cages on three vent covers. Brad took the time to look into our issues and explain what needed to be done. The work was done quickly and neatly. This work costs roughly $150.00 Second visit (spring of 2013): Brad came back to spray the exterior of our house for wasps. he also cleaned up two new birds nests. Again, the work was done quickly and thoroughly. This work costs $150.00 Critter Control does a great job. If you've got a pest, give these guys a call. On time, friendly and effective!

Overall my experience was great!

They were very prompt and not only explained what they were doing but explained the behavior of raccoons. They caught two live raccoons and took them away. I called the service person in between the daily stops to ask some questions and he was very helpful. They also made a follow up phone call to ask if I was seeing any more of them and to explain their guarantee to me.

Thought we had squirrels in the attic due to noises and a hole in one of then roof vents. When we went up to look it was not squirrels, it was in fact a mother raccoon and her babies. So we call on a Sunday and had an appointment setup for Wed within an hour, they were very busy, so that is why there was a slight delay. Came out, explained prices, what they would do and how to proceeded, everything went good, caught her the next day.

Overall I could not be happier. The price was fair and I even received a Senior Discount on the service call fee. I would certainly use Critter Control again. I'm fairly new to area and did not know who to call. Angie's list really helped me there and found me a great company with professional people at an affordable price. Do use this company if you have problems with Wild Critters. They are the Best!

I called Critter Control to check my townhouse attic for squirrels. An extremely nice young man named Adam came out, set a trap on the roof and returned in approximately two weeks to check the trap.There were no animals in the trap so Adam removed it and checked the attic. He confirmed that animals had been up there but were not currently present. he blocked the opening where the animals had entered, and I have not had any problems since. I would definitely call this company again and would strongly recommend them to others who have the same problem.

The gutters are coming loose on one side of the house, and I have a roof leak on the other side. As the roofer was looking over the situation in preparation of an estimate, he noticed a squirrel go in at the point where the gutter came loose. After reading reviews of several companies on Angie's list, I chose Critter Control because they seem to specialize in this sort of problem, as opposed to companies that do general pest control, bug extermination, etc. The woman who answered the phone described the pricing structure, so there were no surprises regarding the bill. There was a set fee for the initial service call and for monitoring the traps, which was paid at the time the service tech initially came to the house. There was also a charge for each squirrel trapped, which was billed after all the squirrels were caught and the job was complete. Also, at the time I set up the appointment, they gave me $5 off for being an Angie's list member. The total cost was very reasonable for the work that was done. J.P. came out as scheduled to review the situation, and he set up traps near the gutter to catch squirrels. He said they usually are found in family groups, and he was right. They caught four squirrels altogether. When they didn't catch anymore, they filled the hole with crumpled paper (or the equivalent) and then checked to see whether the paper was disturbed in any way. Once J.P. was satisfied that there were no squirrels left in the attic, he placed a more sturdy barrier over the hole, intended to keep out any critters until the roof and gutters are replaced. On the other side of the house, where there was a leak in the roof, he noticed that the hole in the roof appeared to be the result of a raccoon tearing up the shingles. He peeked into the resultant hole but did not notice the telltale smell of an active raccoon residence. Just to be safe, he filled in the hole with paper that could be moved by raccoons, if they were still going in and out of this hole. The paper was not disturbed for several days, so he concluded that they are not living there currently. Just to be sure, he covered the hole with a screen that will keep them out until the roof gets fixed. J.P. was very knowledgable, professional and friendly. He checked the traps every morning and called me with updates. The process took one work week (Monday thru Friday). They took the squirrels to Palatine (or thereabout) to humanely set them loose. Also, this is quite far from my house, which helps to ensure that they will not find their way back. I would definitely use them again if I have any more critters in the attic!

Eric came , examined the hole high up in the soffit that the squirrels had eaten thru to nest for the winter. I had heard the knawing sound from inside and thought something was eating thru the wall. He placed traps on the roof over a time frame of several days and caught several squirrels which he took away. When the traps were finally untouched, he removed them and the problem was gone. I had lined up a contractor for the repairs before he even started the project. Eric explained the pricing up front so there were no surprises. He came on time and is very reliable and nice. I would definitely call them for my next animal problem.

He came on time and had to climb on the roof to take the enclosure that the bats were in off the roof. It was a dangerous job and he did it incredibly fast, with the ladder and quietly also. We have had no bats since he came in October and this was a very big problem, since the previous owners did nothing about it and so we were unaware of a problem. I would recommend this company to anyone who has a very real problem with bats, or any rodents for that matter. Eric was very polite and he was very competent.

. All went well as written above. I would use this company again if need be.

The person who answered the phone was very rude. She said to get someone to come and take a look costs $155. When I asked if that applies to the work, she said that is the price like it or not and hung up on me. Very bad experience.

Critter Control came promptly and answered all my questions regarding a large hornet's nest in my backyard tree.After checking to make sure no hornets remained in the nest (as it was early September), Critter Control removed the nest and took it away.

I selected Critter Control when I saw their stellar reviews and they lived up to their excellent reputation. My husband spotted a skunk living under our firewood rack one morning and by the next afternoon Dave had caught and removed it from our property. The baited trap was left in our yard for a week and checked daily by Dave to make sure no other skunks were living nearby. A possum and raccoon were also caught and removed. The week after they removed the trap, we awoke one morning to find part of our backyard lawn dug up by an animal. Dave came back out immediately and caught the culprit--another raccoon. He also applied rodent bait in our attic where we have mice. Fair pricing, prompt responsiveness and professional, courteous service at every stage--from the office to the field--is the reason I will not only use Critter Control again if needed, but also recommend them to friends and family.

Went great. Very pleased by the persistence of the tech. He came the full 6 weeks and I was happy to pay for every animal we caught ($55/animal). $150 for the service contract, and I paid extra for stool removal and to disinfect.

we are very happy with the sevices received. A service provider came promptly after we called about our problem. Approximately two weeks later there was a resurgence of wasps and bees. We called Critter Control again and they sent someone immediately to address the problem which has been solved.( We were told that the initial fee covered all of the required sprays.)

They analyzed my raccoon problem and how it was getting in my home. They also repaired and secured my home to prevent further problems. I may have been able to rid my home of the pest however, this would have continued without their expert assessment and advice. I ,am happy with their services and would definitely use them if need be in a second.

Dave did an excellent job of making sure the bird's won't nest in the same spot again I highly recommend his services!

I called them after having an unsatisfactory experience with another company listed on Angies list. (see all my reviews) They were very professional and Dave thoroughly inspected the attic and removed dead birds and put down mice bait. They were excellent and I would use them again and will! They were prompt, responsive and proactive.

The skunk was trapped quickly. Came back immediately when the babies started coming out and trapped them immediately. This year something tried to dig its way under the porch again and the barrier stopped it.

We had contacted Brad when a racoon we assumed had left our attic but indeed returned. Brad came out immediately, set the trap and within 2 days the racoon was caught. We found out that it was a female. There was the possibility of her having babies so we were told to listen for any other noises, vocalizations, etc and Brad would be out to go into the attic and retrieve the critters. Prior to this event, we had contracted with another animal removal service and were disappointed with the results as well as the lacksadaisical attitude. They would only come out IF we caught the animal. Brad came every day to ensure the trap was properly baited and also set the trap in a location which indeed netted the racoon. His professionalism, customer service and genuine concern for our issue was fantastic. We will be recommending him to all our friends and neighbors and if we should ever need this type of service again, he will be the one to call.

We hired Critter Control to come out and take care of a recurring raccoon problem we had. We had the same raccoon in our house last summer, and the company we used then was very laissez-faire about catching the thing, subsequently the raccoon wasn't caught and nonetheless for qutie expensive prices. While Critter Control took a similar approach, I did feel that their staff was much more knowledgeable and reliable than the staff of the other company I used (you can look at my profile and find their review if you'd like to know how that went.) Anyways, the technician - Josh - came out, set up the traps, and said he would check the traps daily and if something didn't come up soon, we'd move to Plan B. At this same time, my husband and I would leave our TV on loudly during the day because I had read that raccoons feel threatened by humans. Within about 2-3 days the raccoon left, and at that time Josh came back out and put new heavy-duty screens in our attic fan vents and our chimney opening. The price for the screens was $315 - about half of what the other company wanted to charge me last year! All in all, I felt much better using this company throughout this process. I would definitely use them again, and if you're in the area and having wildlife / pest problems, I would definitely say that they have lower prices and better service than the competition.

Punctual, courteous and professional. Had to come back on a second day to do the work. Arrived when he said he would. This winter we've been mouse free! Would definitely use Critter Control again. Josh was recommended by my neighbor who also had an excellent experience.
