Archadeck of Chicagoland

Wanted to replace old deck and wanted something low maintenance and they suggested a patio which turned out to be great! We love it!

From design to finish, Archedeck was top notch. Cant speak highly enough about the team....especially Paul. Highly recommend to anyone.

The entire process was positive - The set up & planning the actual work & the workers were effective, efficient & quite cordial. I would recommend this company . Its employees to anyone thinking about adding a deck.

From start to finish everything was done in a very professional manner. From the removal of the previous concrete patio to the completion of the deck the work was excellent. We were very pleased with work done and the crews that worked on our project. Clean up was excellent with no debris left behind. We highly recommend Archadeck of Chicago

It went great. Archadeck removed the old deck and installed a new one. They kept us up-to-date on the project progress, and were very flexible in accomodating changes we requested as the project developing. When we had the deck inspected at the end of the project the inspector commented on what a great job Archadeck did.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The craftsmanship is top notch, the responsiveness of everyone was awesome and the level of service, quality and attentiveness to me as a customer far exceeded any experiences with other contractors I've had before.

The meeting was productive and the manager/designer was very professional and pleasant. We went through a number of options based on a review of my needs. Never at any time did I feel I was being pressured and at the end I felt like I knew everything I needed to know to compare their work against other companies. Ultimately I decided to go with one of the 'big box' contractors because they were a little cheaper. While Archadeck was a bit more expensive I think the quality and 'little touches' in design accounted for the difference-- their price wasn't out of line, just a outside my budget.

We wanted to replace a small 5-step concrete porch with a deck-style porch. Archadeck responded to my email promptly. They suggested some fancy approaches, but we wanted simple and straightforward. They told us the job was too small; they will only work projects $10,000 or larger. We did not use them so can't comment on their quality.

In the end, I went with a different company based solely on price. I really appreciated David's designs and thoughtfulness. I also appreciated that they didn't try to "upsell" me - they listened to my budget concerns and provided me with a great design within that range. The only disappointing factor was that I was not provided with a copy of the design proposal to keep as a comparison to the other proposals I had received. (Both the other companies emailed me design proposals with cost-breakdown, etc.). I was only provided the cost of the proposals to take with me following our second design consultation. While I understand not wanting to provide someone with a drawing only to have them take it to someone else who will build it for less, I would have liked to have been able to share the drawings with my friends who were helping me decide how best to proceed. The designs were well done and David was great to work with. He really listened to what I was looking for and came up with some great ideas. In the end, it truly came down to price. If I decide to do Phase 2, which David suggested and is a fabulous expansion of my outdoor living space, I will definitely give them a call!

I usually ask a provider to come to our house. But Archadeck people don't come out on early morning and weekends, so I made an appointment on Saturday to discuss in their show room. The young lady asked us a bunch of questions like what kind of material we want to build our deck, what furniture I want to put on the deck, what are our favorite pictures from their previous jobs, etc. Then she asked us to provide a budget number. I don't feel comfortable to give out budget so early, but I still told her around 10k. Then she immediately told me they cannot give me a design based on my budget because our budget is too low, she'll consider at least 20k. I said "how about you give me an estimate based on my size and requirement, I'll see if I can afford that price". She refused to do so because she said she doesn't want to waste both of us time. On our way drove back, the owner of Archadeck called us trying to explain, he said they don't give quote base on customer's requirement, they only design based on customer's budget. So the way they work is, they ask customer how much they can put on a deck, then they propose a "design" to fit that amount of money. If you want a quote from them and compare with other providers, they won't give you that. I understand that each provider can have their unique way to provide service. But it's very frustrating after my whole family drove half hour on the road, spent another half hour wait in the entrance, answer all questions, go through photos, and wait till the service lady finish her other customer's phone call in middle, and finally we were told that this is not the right place we should come, unless we can at least double our budget, but sorry we won't get a exact quote number, we should take a guess and raise budget to a minimum level that Archadeck will start to consider work with us. At least two things Archadeck should do to improve their service, they should explain the way they work very clearly on their advertisement on TheHomeMag, they should also explain when people call to make appointment. For anyone that will consider their service, my advice is let them come to your place instead of going their place, so at least you will waste less of your time.

I spoke with Kristen in sales. She told me that they would not provide me a quote and would only give me an estimate after I told them how much I wanted to spend. I felt like I was talking to a used car salesman. They obviously want you to spend as much as you possibly can on the project. Update: Archadeck's response is totally untrue. I said I would be happy to spend as much time as needed with them but I couldn't tell them my maximum budget because I had no idea what a new deck costs since I don't build decks for a living. I told them exactly the size, layout and type of materials of deck I wanted and offered to meet them to discuss. They still said they wouldn't give me an estimate without me first giving you a budget. I have played these games before, I give you a $10,000 budget and you give me a estimate for $9,999. You didn't offend me on the phone, but your response did, by stating I wasn't willing to spend the time with you, which you know is totally false.

Company was fantastic. Detailed progress reports. All concerns addressed immediately. Final payment not requested until all work was fully completed.

Dave at Archadeck was very easy to work with. We initially worked with him in January of 2014 to get an idea of what kind of deck we wanted to have built in the price range we were looking at. He provided us two unique options, along with different prices for those options depending on the material we wanted to use. During the building process we received updates about the current status of the project (filing for permits, when material was to arrive, etc). The team that built the deck was professional and were able to build our deck in the number of days that we were estimated. There was a slight delay in the middle of the deck building, but the issue was outside the control of the builder. Items found during the post construction walk through were quickly taken care of. Overall I'm very happy with the work and service and would use Archadeck again the future.

The crew was very efficient when they got started and cleaned up after themselves very well. When we had changes to make David was very responsive to our ideas.

Paved patio turned out beautifully. started ahead of schedule! site left clean daily.

Kirsten was diligent in ensuring our project was exactly what we derived. The work was timely and first class. The company operates well and the higher cost/quality came.

Absolutely awesome experience! After receiving quotes form local deck installers I decided to try a more established deck installer that was backed by a larger company. Bottom line, Dave/Kristen and Archadeck were awesome. Their initial consultation is in-depth and expectations are explained fully on what they are able to provide and at what price. After the initial consultation you will meet them at their impressive design studio where the final design will take place. Lead times were rough but that was hardly due to the company (expect delays in permits and time of year bottlenecks). You even receive daily status updates during construction! I have no complaints and am 100% satisfied with the final product, the company, and especially the team. I would recommend them 10/10. Great job guys and thanks again.

In the end I was happy with the project. A few small details were not to my expectations but overall a beautiful design, but not as functional as expected.
