We called on friday, he came out saturday to check it out, then since there was snow in the forcast he came out first thing Monday morning and did the repairs. This is the third time Joe has done work for me and I am always very satisfied. He is prompt, friendly, and is willing to go the extra mile, not to mention he does excellent work. I will and have recomended him to my friends :)

This was our second time using Anix, and again it was a fantastic experience. Joe offered to us three different options at three different price points which was great. Additionally, he and his crew arrived on time, were courteous and professional, and took the time to do some minor detail work which was greatly appreciated. In fact, our neighbors have given several compliments about the deck, and we plan on using the company again in the future.

I had 2 other estimates, both approx $2600. Anix, Inc gave us an estimate of $4800 for the exact same work but insisted it would take 2 men at 40 hours each when the other 2 vendors scheduled it for 1 man at 40 hours. I attempted to negotiate a lower price with Anix, Inc but he would not budge off the price. Joe from Anix was professional and thorough but not impressive enough to pay twice the price.

I still haven't received that.

I can't say enough great things about this company. I've put off writing a review bc I didn't think I could come up with the words that would give them ALL the PRAISE they deserved. So, I'll try. :) I live in Texas and my home is in Hoffman Estates, IL. It had been rented out to the same people for the last 5 yrs. I had not seen the property in some time but knew that I needed to update in order to sale it. Joe worked with me with quotes (lots of quotes) and suggestions on what was necessary to be done, etc. He gave me an initial quote for roofing, siding for the garage, etc. but I ended up going with a roofing company I had used in the past for repairs. The savings in the end were minor to what the quote I got from Joe were and I regret not having his team do the whole project bc it was quiet a nightmare trying to coordinate the whole thing from TX. Joe had even offered to try to match my roofing quote. I seriously should have let him just for the stress relief. I flew up to IL to meet with Joe. My renters where still in the house, so I stayed at the house while the crew worked. The renters living conditions were TERRIBLE. It was like they moved in and NEVER cleaned. Joe and his team were so AWESOME. They were very professional and handled the entire situation great. They encountered pretty dirty bathrooms and spaces and did what they had to do to get the job done even though they are contractors and not cleaners. (They did keep their workspace clean and tidy the entire time). Joe and his team showed up in clean Anix Builders T-shirts which I loved. They were all clean in appearance and all were very friendly and smiled and greeted me every time. The guys ate their lunch in the garage or elsewhere (which I would have made lunch for them if it were not my renters place - that's how comfortable I was with them.) Did I mention that I am a short little woman and I felt safe with these guys? With every construction job, there are always delays, issues, other things you see that need to be done. While inspecting the house I found several smaller things that need to be address - water heater leak, window lock break, a hole in the wall, window screens broken, handrail torn off wall, front door screws, etc. Joe took care or is taking care of all of these little details. Some of these things he did without charge. His crew was very prompt 8am-5pm or 6pm everyday until the job was done. Now let me tell you about the bathrooms. I picked the products out at Lowes and his crew installed it all. Joe helped me with all the specs and measurements. I enjoyed this part as it gave me some control as to the quality/price point of the product I was putting in there. I was able to order everything online from Lowes and delivered to the house. This worked great since I lived in TX. The bathrooms came out BEAUTIFUL. I was most impressed with their painting skills. They turned bathroom walls that had old drywall with bad paint and texture on it, into a smooth even painted bathroom. They spent a lot of time to get it just perfect. Joe even decided that a small section was not to his quality standards and re-patched and repainted that part AGAIN. I don't think others would have taken that extra time for that little area that was barely noticeable since it was near bath light. But Joe is a true professional and perfectionist. Joe is scheduled to do Phase 2 of our project. Installing 11 Windows, a front door, finishing up on some of the small items we found, and painting - now that the renters are out. I'm sure when we go together we will find more things that need to be done. But I am so confident and trust Joe's ability that I am just going to fly in for a few days and leave him with the keys to the house. I don't feel like I have to worry about him finishing his work on-schedule/as promised. And I know him and his crew will respect and take care of the house even without me there. The only things I can suggest - and it was more than likely ME bc I was out of town and not able to meet with him face-to-face for the initial project discussions, quoting, etc. But I did find that part to be quiet stressful. But I would imagine it is stressful for everyone. Joe was so patient with me on this as it was my first time working with contractors and I was shelling out a lot of money. Joe was able to secure a building permit in the time we needed but it was a really close call on that. I hope Anix Builders will be around for a long time. They helped me out so much and I want others to have the same opportunity to experience this level of customer service and quality service. There's just no reason to go with anyone else. I would be more then happy to provide a reference for them anytime. If a woman who doesn't even live in the same state as this company can trust them, I think that says a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing them again for Phase 2.

We selected Anix Builders after reading through several Angie's List reviews, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome! Joe came to our home and could see that we were in desperate need of a basement remodel after water damage. He gave us several suggestions, worked with us to keep costs close to our budget, and followed through every step of the way. Our village permit took a little longer than any of us expected, but Joe and his crew worked diligently to keep us on track. His crew members were extremely polite and cleaned up every day to keep the mess to a minimum. New insulation, drywall, paint, lights, and carpeting transformed the basement completely! Our grandchildren are thrilled to have their brand new playroom completely finished! Don't assume that your Village will respond quickly with your building permit. We appreciated updates from Joe via e-mail and phone as our job progressed. We plan to do more remodeling in the near future, and Joe and the rest of the Anix Builder's team will be our contractor of choice! We highly recommend this company.

All Angie's List deals should go this well. We recently moved into a house which we gut-rehabbed. There were/are still several smaller projects remaining including building out the master bedroom wardrobe. We purchased an Ikea "assemble-it-yourself" modular package but quickly realized it was going to be too big a job for one DIY homeowner. I saw Anix's $299 General Contractor for a Day deal and after reading the positive reviews, phoned them to confirm they could do the job. Joe came out the next day to inspect the project, confirmed it could be done with 8 man-hours (a crew of two working 4 hours) and offered to start the very next day. We purchased the deal that night and Joe and assistant arrived at 8 am. There was some repair work required for one of the Ikea units and the base molding in the wardrobe area needed to be removed and/or cut in places which added to the workload and time to do the job which ended up taking about 6 hours rather than the anticipated 4 but Joe did not ask for additional monies beyond the $299 we paid for the deal, which was a refreshing change from our experience with other contractors found on Angie's List. The wardrobe looks great and we will happily use Anix again in the future.

I wanted to redo my Moms kitchen for her as a Christmas gift. In February I contacted a different A rated on Angie's list contractor and arranged to have the work done. He kept pushing the start date back until he said he would no longer be able to complete the job for Easter, which was when she really wanted it done by so she could serve Easter dinner. I frantically started calling around and no one could complete the job in two weeks. I called Anix and they came out the next day. They put a rush on the counters and had the whole project done beautifully with four days to spare! The guys are friendly and work hard and do beautiful work. I liked them so we'll they are currently working on my home.

I was having trouble finding someone to fix the siding. Because it came off of an eave on the roof of my two-story home, I needed someone who had a long enough ladder. Handymen I contacted didn't have a two-story ladder. The roofers I contacted wanted to charge a whole lot to fix it even though it would be a quick and easy thing to do. So I contacted Angie's List helpline for their recommendations on someone who could do it for a reasonable cost. Joe at Anix was on their list of recommendations and I called him. He said he could come out and look at it early in the morning before he went out to another job. He looked at it, told me it would be easy to fix and that he didn't even know what to charge me because it was so simple to fix. He came out of the following Saturday, fixed it in less than ten minutes, and when I tried to pay him he refused because it was so easy. I had another job that I wanted done, installing a fan in my master bathroom, and I asked him for an estimate. He gave me a reasonable estimate and I hired him to come out and do it. I bought the fan but he supplied all the other stuff - kit for venting through the roof, switches, etc. Joe and his electrical guy did the work in a few hours. Haven't had any problems with the fan and the work done was top quality. I plan to use Joe and Anix in the future.

This is the third time that we have used Joe and his company Anix. This time Anix did a complete kitchen rehab for us. I will only only use Joe and Anix for all of my construction needs. Our kitchen looks unbelievable, with new cabinets, floors, doors, trim, lighting, electrical, and paint. He even built us a fireplace in the adjoining family room, made out of stone. Joe came up with some great ideas, that saved us money and time. Thanks for the great kitchen Joe and his Anix crew! You guys are highly recommended! Until we meet again for our families next home improvement project.

I called Joe from Anix after remembering him and his company from installing my gutter guards. I was going to sell my moms condo and needed to do some repairs before putting it on the market. I called Joe and asked him if he had some time to spare to help me out with some projects at my moms condo. Joe met me around 6pm, on his way home from another job. I told him what needed to be done and he gave me an estimate right there on the spot. He told me he was extremely busy during the next few weeks, but he would be able to come by on his way home, around this time and complete the projects prior to selling the condo. That sounded great to me, and the projects were completed in the next few days, as promised. Joe even found some other electrical problems that needed to be fixed before any inspection. Condo passed the village inspection prior to selling. Thank you!

I called Joe the Owner Of Anix to come out and give me an estimate and some ideas on gutter guards for my always clogging gutters on my 2 story home. Joe came out the very next day and gave me some great choices. I decided to go with the snap in guards. Joe gave me an estimate for the labor and promised to come back the next day at 8 am to start the job. Joe arrived at 7:45 am. finished the job, cleaned up after himself and his crew, and stuck to his estimate, which was cheaper than the other two that I received prior to Anix.
