My basement is the length and width of my home and has my furnace, electrical box, water main, hot water heater, art/craft area, storage, and work bench/tools. The only access to my full size basement was an overhead wood cellar door cut into the back porch. The door was crafted from 2" x 4" boards making it extremely heavy to lift up to the side. After opening there was a drop of about 2 feet before you could reach the first step leading to the basement door. I had place cinder blocks in the drop to ease the step down drop. All year long the door was almost impossible to raise because of the weight. In the summer it was often left open to ease access making a dangerous opening which people/children could fall. In the winter the horrors to get into the basement for anything increase with snow and ice. I have had several contractors give suggestions and bids over the years. None which were cost effective or created a major ease of access. Finally I called Koch Brothers for their opinions and estimate. True to previous experiences with them, they came out quickly inspected the area, asked me what I was looking for. I explained what I wanted and also explained that I did not know how to achieve the desired outcome. The made a couple of suggestions, offered pros and cons for each suggestion and explained how different access doors were made, the benefits of each door, and how they could be installed. After I eventually picked out the door, they came back for a final inspection and measurements and gave me the estimate. There was a back order on the door which they notified me of immediately. They also were considerate enough to make courtesy contacts with update until the door arrived. By the time the door arrived winter was starting to set in. Regardless, they came, cut the deck, extended the steps, and installed the door. They worked quickly, cleanly, and efficiently, keeping me informed all along the way. This winter has been horrendous for snowfall accumulation! Seems like it has been falling 1 and 2 feet at a time. Just when one snowfall stops the weather becomes arctic cold or just warm enough to allow some melting (creating ice) before the snow comes again! This is also the first year since buying my home over 20 years ago that I have had ease of access to my basement, furnace, hot water heater and tools. The angle the door was installed at allows snow to be cleaned off easily and quickly. The lifting of the door can be done with one hand and little effort. And, I am no longer terrified to step down for entrance into the basement! Thank you, thank you for the wonderful job!

Koch brothers inspected the roof, discovered what repairs were made in the past, why those repairs were not truly functional and long lasting. They explained the circumstances to me, showed me what had occurred, why the previous repairs were only very expensive patches. Then they detailed what repairs were necessary for long term repair/reconstruction. Demonstrated that the whole roof section would not have to be reconstructed, this was very important to me as I knew they were not simply trying to drain me of money. They understood that people have budgets, especially with older homes. They gave me the option to replace, reconstruct sections, and explained why they would not simple make another costly patch. They gave me choice of material with explanation for each type and the benefits of each. Most importantly after the free inspection and overview they explained they did not personally do the work and I could now find the right contractor's for the job because I had the correct knowledge about the problem and the correction for the problem. Knowing the pride they take in work completed with their name associated to it and, the personal time they give each job I inquired if they did have a crew they subcontracted with. I was given an estimate (which they were able to come in under!). The crew showed up on time tore down, replaced and repaired without tearing up my front yard, and without creating a mess while working. The crew was polite, knew what they were doing, answered questions, and kept me updated as to progress. Koch Brothers continually checked to assure the crew was working quickly and efficiently and to make sure I was happy with the progress and work.

What I didn't realize that Koch Bros. are contractors. They could have helped us if we needed a new deck built. All we needed was to have our present deck cleaned. We were told that the deck was in good condition so no need to replace..just wash and seal. We didn't use them per se, but they were professional and honest. They could have sold us a new deck.

After initial contact, the owners, not an emplyee or represenative, came to view the situation and suggest optional repairs. The gave the pro and con for each suggestion in understandable language. Worked with me throughout the decission making process regarding the situation and budget. Offered differnt/seperate written bids for each choice discussed. Work started and finished on time. Owners par ticipated in the work that was done/oversaw the job or were available for immediate contact. The cleanup was very thourough, much better than expexted based on work done by previous contractors. My home was orriginally built in the 1850's, I have owned it for 20 years and have never been conmpletely satisfied with any ot=f the contractors who have done previous work or given estimates. Othe contractors have cut corners,over charged, did not have full guartantees for their work, sent out representatives who had never done contract work and did not fully understand process or requierments. They would make promises that could not be fulfilled, changed job recomendations part way throug. Asked for money to purchase supplies in the middle of a job, Begged fo partial or full payment prior to work completion, The list of problems goes on and on, With Koch brothers none of these negative situations occured! K*** Brotheres were very professional, realistic about the work that need to be done, offered several alternatives, gave realistic time schedules that they were able to keep, Their prices were realistic and along with the work guatenteed. They did not just offer a patch job that would require future work. The owners were personally available or working on the process for start to end. I have been a homeowner for over 30 years and these are the first contractors I have ever worked with that I know I will be sorking with again! The peace of mind is fantastic! It has been over 6 months wincw there work was completed, the weather has fluctuated considerably during that time and everything is still great! Thank you guys!

I have had a problem with this skylight for over 15 years. Previous contractors offered only patch solutions which resulted in a stream of constant required repairs. After initial contact with Koch Brothers the owners, not an employee or representative came to view the overall situation. They offered viable solutions with pro and con for each solution. They gave a written bid for the final choice. The initial price did not vary and was guaranteed. Through the entire job they were available for questions and/or explanations, The cleanup was thorough, preparations and procedures were followed to avoid air flow cleanup throughout the house (much better than expected based on work done by previous contractors). They hired an outside contractor to perform the indoor plastering; the man was an expert at his craft. Koch Brothers were very professional, realistic as to the work that needed to be completed, offered alternatives, gave realistic time schedule and guaranteed prices. They did not offer a patch work for the problem and the owners personally followed the process to completion. I know I will be using them in the future as my home was originally built in the 1850's. Thank you K*** Brothers for the professional and humanist integrity!

Previous positive experience with Koch Brothers resulted in continuation of 1850's home repairs. This time it was the upper roofs. Again, owners came to view situation and suggest options for repairs giving the pro and con for each separate option. They worked with me on situation and budget. Offered a guaranteed written bid with all the process explained in the bid. Contracted appropriate professional roofers and oversaw the work through completion. The cleanup was fantastic and the care to surrounding ground property exceptional! The job was started on time and completed early. After previous negative experiences with other contractors it is a pleasure to be working with contractors who understand the meaning of integrity! Highly recommend Koch Brothers for all your contracting needs!

My home was originally built in the 1850's, I purchased it about 20 years ago and have had a problem with leakage in the living room wall ever since. I have had other contractors come out. The solutions included new windows, gutters, and roofing. Over the years the expenses have really added up. But the leaking always came back. After contacting several other contractors earlier in the year and being told the wall would have to be replaced, the house lifted, another new roof, new exterior wall coverings (on a stucco house?) and several other inane suggestions I contacted Koch Brothers. After initial contact the owner, not an employee or representative who knew nothing about the actual work needed, came to view the situation and suggest viable and variable repair options. He answered all my question raised points I had not thought about, offered pros and cons for different scenarios. I was given written guaranteed bids for different option that I was considering. After choosing the option I preferred the contract was revised with the additions or deletions I preferred, a formal contract was written and signed. They started on time, sectioned off the area to avoid dust and debris traveling around the house and professionally covered the rug prior to work starting. The owners did the majority of the work themselves, supervised or were immediately available for any of the work they were not directly completing. They showed great care and respect for my property inside and out and for my schedule when a problem arose concerning window molding (that had been damaged by a neighbor while in storage, not by Koch Brothers) they were able to come up with an excellent replacement to match the original 150+ year old molding for a reasonable cost. Their cleanup was above expectation and the job was completed early (except for the molding which was not their fault, even that only took an extra few days and they did not charge for anything extra except the cost of having the replacement piece created) The work has been completed for over a half year, heavy rains, winds and snow have attacked the area and there is no leakage/damage/ or despair of any kind regarding the job they completed! For the first time since I purchased this home: it has been wonderful to enjoy worry-free wall leakage during the dramatic season changes! Pride in their work shines through and their integrity is beyond reproach. I will and do highly recommend the Koch Brothers. They are exceptional general contractors who go above and beyond for the people who hire them!
