Bob showed up and was on time. He brought in plenty of tarps and covers to minimize any mess, which there was none. He cleaned the chimney then installed igniter which there was a problem with a stripped pipe. He retreated the stripped pipe and installed the new igniter! Thanks Bob

I called on Friday evening and got an appointment first thing Saturday morning. Bob came right on time, and after inspecting the fireplace and chimney, he had us take a look inside and showed what was happening up there and what he would do to clean it. He explained - before he started the work - why he would need to charge a little bit more than the original estimate. The previous owners never had the chimney cleaned and it was in very rough shape. He was extremely friendly, neat, and offered us great advice on how to take care of the chimney to keep it safe and clean. He protected our flooring with tarps and left the area much cleaner than he found it! We will definitely be calling again next time we need cleaning.

We are recent transplants from the city. This is our first house. My husband is a white collar worker and when we need anything around the house fixed we use other people's expertise. We have very quickly found that if you don't "know a guy" you are going to get screwed over on the price to do regular maintenance things around the house. We wanted to be able to utilize our fireplaces for the holidays so I called rite-a-way to make sure our chimney was clean and safe and to also explain to us why our gas fireplace made our house smell like gas. The owner, Bob, answered and came over right away. He explained to me what our problems were, how he was going to fix the problems, what kind of problems we can expect in the future and explained products that would be better utilized in our specific case scenario. He then fixed the basement fireplace and swept both chimneys all under two hours. Bob was very personal and professional. He didn't pressure me to buy anything I didn't want and gave me the straight truth on what I would need to do to fix the previous owners mistakes. Bob was super. Took care to cover our carpet. Very neat and tidy. Bob took the time to explain the cleaning process and the proper woods to burn in the fireplace. He is very proud of his work and the fact that his prices are reasonable. Bob's work was perfect!

The provider called the night before to confirm the appointment. He was on time. He laid down a blanket to protect my floors. He was professional and he did a good job.

I recently bought my house and wanted the fireplace inspected and cleaned before I start using it this winter. Prior to the inspection I had looked over the interior of the fireplace as well as the exterior of the chimney on my roof. Rite-A-Way cleaned the fireplace and carefully covered my carpet so it didn't get dirty. They also told me that there was no cap on the chimney and there were cracks in the concrete base at the top of the chimney. I had noticed both of these things when I had done my inspection and was glad to find out that the cap and repairs to the concrete could be taken care of for a very reasonable price. They also told me the proper way to make a fire and recommended a place to purchase wood. I highly recommend Rite-A-Way Chimney Sweep!

Bob arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He showed me with pictures from his phone what work need to be done and why. He also explained how to properly maintain the chimney and the dryer vent for the future. He was clean and went above and beyond. He did an outstanding job! I will use him again in the future

Just moved into a house with 3 old woodburning fireplaces. None of the fireplaces had functioning dampers, nor cleaned. Bob was available the day after I made the first phonecall. He arrived on time, cleaned all 3, fixed the mortar in one, fixed external masonry damage on another, installed top covers on two (he did the third a couple of days later), all in one day. We went from having damaged unusable fireplaces to burning a fire that very night! We'll definite use him in the future for all of our fireplace needs.

Bob was very professional, on time and thorough. He sealed all cracks, cleaned and painted the inside and replaced the existing pipe fittings with something more secure. He took his time explaining how to operate the gas log and made sure we both had a chance to start and stop it while he watched. DRYER VENTHE DID A GREAT JOB FROM START TO FINISH/HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING HE WAS DOING AND GAVE US GOOD ADVICE ON MAINTAINING THE FIREPLACE AND DRYER VENT.

He got there right on time. He was very thorough in his explanations and he cleaned up everything when he was done.

I was very satisfied with the work performed by Bob Coles and I have already recommended to my daughter thiat she have her fireplace serviced by Rite-A-Way Chimney Sweep, Inc. Besides thoroughly cleaning the fireplace chimney, Bob recommended installation of a new chimney cap to minimize rain and snow from entering the chimney, which I agreed to. He also used his phone to take a picture of the chimney crown so I could see that mortar was cracked and missing. He completed this repair after which he took another picture so I could see before and after photos. The work was neatly done.But perhaps most impressive was the gas pipe he replaced free of charge. I informed Bob that I recently purchased a new fireplace door and a gas logs system, and that they will be arriving in approximately 3 weeks. Bob informed me that a gas logs system for my fireplace would not require the same length gas pipe (to start a fire) as a wood burning system does. In fact, having the wrong length pipe could be a hazard. Bob chiseled out the mortar around the existing pipe, unscrewed it, replaced it with the right length of pipe, and then patched the mortar. I'm not sure what the installer of the new gas logs system might have done. Again, he did this free of charge since the price for his work had already been agreed to. Rite-A-Way Chimney Sweep Inc. did a great job for a reasonable price.

Bob arrived for appointment in a very timely manner, about 10 minutes early. He was very pleasant and professional. He went right to work with inspection of chimney and fireplace. He thoroughly cleaned fireplace, first laying down tarp protection for the flooring. We had questions about gas fireplace log systems, and Bob was very thorough in his explanation. We decided to purchase the gas logs. Bob was able to install the gas log system on this initial visit. After preparing the fireplace thoroughly, the job went very smoothly. Bob then both showed us how to use the new gas log system, and also allowed us to demonstrate it for him ourselves. The work he did made a beautiful difference! We found Bob Cole to be very professional and personable. We felt he was very trustworthy as well. He offered us a lot of educational safety information, which was very appreciated. When my husband was busy in another room, Bob did not hesitate to go ahead and show-explain the gas log systems available to myself. Bob treated me as an equal, instead of deferring only to my husband with the details. Thank you, Bob! The work area was left completely neat and tidy too! Bob made a great impression on us.

This is my second winter with having a fireplace. I used it last year without getting it cleaned and inspected (I just purchased one of those chimney sweeping logs). This year i promised myself that I would not light a fire until I had a professional clean and inspect it. I first did a search online for local chimney sweeps, as I wanted to support a business in my community. Then I checked Angie's list and saw that Rite A Way had an "A" rating. AND THEY DESERVE THE "A"! The Appointment was set up for the Friday after Thanksgiving for between 10 - 11am. Bob arrived at 9:45am, which I was thrilled about! Being a busy holiday weekend, I had several plans on the agenda, so not knowing how long this would take I was thrilled with the early arrival. My house is in the process up being updated, so people walking on the existing carpeting in shoes, is not an issue for me, however, Bob and his helper clearly have this down to a science. Drop cloths were rolled out from my front door, and not a shoe or piece of equipment touched my floors. The cleaning was a relatively quick process, and luckily for me, no creosote and my chimney was in good shape! Bob did find the beginnings of a crack in the back wall of the fireplace. He was able to fix it right on the spot. Then Bob pulled out a can of high temp spray paint and touched up all of the scratches. My fireplace now looks brand new! I was thrilled with their work, and plan on being a repeat customer. I definitely recommend Rite A Way!

I called Bob Coles of Rite-A-Way Chimney Sweep Inc on Tuesday 2/8/11 and he came out the next morning at 9:00 AM as scheduled. I had used Bob last year for a cleaning and had talked to him about converting to Gas Logs which he sells. Bob presented the various types and we decided to go with the Vent-Less model. Bob went on to clean the chimney and firebox. He even painted the interior of the firebox to make it look better with the new gas logs. He then installed to new gas logs and gave us a full rundown on how to operate them, which was quite simple. The whole process took less than 3 hours including cleanup which was minimal. I will recommend Rite-A-Way Chimney Sweep to all.

It went great. Bob was very knowledgeable and gave me tips for taking care of my chimney, like how often to clean (based on amount of wood burned rather than by a calendar schedule). He brought my attention to the poor work that was done by the previous chimney service, as evidenced by the pile of creosote and ash that was removed from the chimney. I got a quote of $120 over the phone for the cleaning and then opted to have a chimney cap installed to prevent energy loss from my home going up the chimney. I will use Rite-A-Way again in the future and highly recommend them to others.

Bob Cole came out the next day at the time we discussed. He made sure we new exactly what was going on and explained in detail why. I would recommend this company to anyone and have already to my brother.

They responded quickly with only 3 days notice. They showed up 40 minutes but were courteous and thorough. They did a complete job and didn't cut corners.

He was very prompt. He came out the next day. He was good at explaining everything to me. He had a good quality of door and very knowledgeable about them. He was not only on time but even a little early.

Glenn came out with his helper Brian and they put down tarps to protect the flooring. They vacuumed out the ash dump and then used the special tools to clean the flue. The chimney apparently was not used a whole lot as they said it was pretty clean. Glenn wrote up the paperwork and explained that if the fireplace was used as little as we use it, it will not need a cleaning until 2009.

Great. Called on Tuesday, cleaning was done on Saturday. Was given an estimated arrival of 11 am to 1 pm. He arrived at 11:15 am. Was very clean. He laid down a runner across the entire floor before walking on it. All dust and soot was vacuumed.

THEY CAME IN AND UNHOOKED THE DRYER AND CLEANED THE VENTS FROM THE INSIDE OUT, WHICH I LIKED. THEY WERE VERY ANXIOUS TO DO A GOOD JOB AND THEY DID! IM VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE AND WE WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN. HE ALSO CAPPED OUR OUTSIDE VENTS. I REALLY APPRECIATE HIS HONESTY. ALSO, HE SAID WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN FOR FIVE YEARS, WHEREAS OTHERS WOULD HAVE PUSHED US TO DO IT YEARLY.
