Steve and his team were amazing. First, the job was fast. Really fast. ...and it was all done right the first time. The slowest part was when we decided to paint the room ourselves. These guys were just awesome. They gutted the kitchen, left us the old cabinets as we requested, repaired the walls, installed all the new cabinets, added the counters, and finished off all the details in the room. I am handy and could have done this installation myself, but I could never have done it this well. Not only was the workmanship absolutely top flight, but Steve made extremely insightful design suggestions. He was responsible for suggesting the pantry that we now know and love. He also was willing to work with us when we wanted something unusual (switch placement for garbage disposal). He let us know that he wouldn't do it that way, but if we were sure, that he would. (We were sure, and we love it -- though he is right that our choice was unconventional.) His warnings of this type were just incredibly helpful; it let us avoid pitfalls and think hard about unconventional choices. Some of the highlights around the kitchen include how he artfully created fillers to make up for our old (1922) walls leaving some odd gaps near the doorways where an addition was added in the 80s. You would never know that we didn't make these odd jogs in the wall simply to accent our crown molding. Even my fiance (who is incredibly picky) loved this contractor. We gave Steve a key to the house and left him and the crew unsupervised. We had no problems at all. In fact, he encased all our furniture in plastic and built a polyethylene "wall" to keep dust out of the rest of the house. This is probably standard practice for doorways, but he walled off a huge section to protect our 90 gallon saltwater fish tank. In every way, he went above and beyond. One year later, the kitchen is still great. We just couldn't be happier. We plan to use him again on all our future remodelling jobs (bathroom).

The highlight was the kitchen fire that was caused because Steve from Oland Cabinets was paid by us to install cabinets and new appliances. He left the packing material under the griddle and the home owner had a very scary kitchen fire. Things went from bad to worse from almost the beginning. His team of men were very rude and not respectful of us or our home.
