A&M Professional Refinishing

It did not go well! He left paint on the floor, vanity, and on the faucet in the tub. I have reached out them and they will not correct any mistakes. I would not use them again and would not recommend them. Update as of 3/24/17, the company came back and sanded down the sharp points on the bottom of the tub, but there is still standing water in the bottom of the tub around the drain. The finish they left doesn't look good either.

Everything went well. Service was prompt and professional. He did a good job, bathtub looked great.

Lack of responsiveness and not following through to correct mistakes has led me to not refer A & M to friends.

While typically such refinishing jobs last for several years, unfortunately the finish has come off in about two years. I have left messages for the company but have not heard back. I paid 279$ + travel charge to Hanover Park.

The initial work required two visits to complete. Shortly after that, the new finish began peeling away. This required a third visit to complete the job. Eight months later peeling occurred again, and A&M needed to return for a fourth visit under warranty. The 8-month rework was very poor in quality, but I accepted it and was happy just to have the warranty honored. Seven months after the warranty rework also began peeling. A&M has explained to me that my warranty expired 12 months from the original completion date, regardless of the fact that it needed to be redone eight months later. I cannot in good conscience recommend A&M unless you enter into the arrangement understanding that the work they do might require rework and it is unlikely to outlive the warranty period by much if at all. We followed all provided care instructions.

They were professional, did an excellent job, and the tub looks like new.

I had purchased the Angie's List deal to have A&M refinish my bathtub back in May. I had originally set an appointment for early June but had to cancel due to a broken pipe under my bath tube. I went to reschedule in mid-June and received prompt feedback on a time for them to come out and do the work. The day before the event they call me (~4PM) to confirm the appointment (they left a voicemail and when I called them back that evening to confirm I only received their voicemail). The big day came to have the work done and then....no one showed up. I called twice and left two different voicemail's but I never heard back from the company. I then emailed them trying to get a response and received no reply. It's been a week since the scheduled appointment and I've heard nothing. I'm giving the "F" grade because customer service is awful. If they would have called and apologized by now I would have understood and rescheduled, but to not hear anything is really a problem. I'm now working with a new company to complete the work. I can't in good conscious recommend this company to anyone.

They came out when they said they would. They took a little while to come out. They didn't charge me anything extra. The prep that was needed in order for them to do the work was not properly communicated. We went over with them what we felt needed to be done for the prep work. We still felt like they were not ready for the work. It was absolutely ridiculous. He needs to be able to communicate properly.

Service person was polite and a nice guy but the final result was not good. There are little flecks in the surface that weren't there before. He suggested we pay an additional $100 for an extra hard coating on the tub. For $400 that should have been included. We had the tub resurfaced once before for less and it was an excellent job that lasted many years. This doesn't look like it will last more than a month. I think all he did was put on a thin coat. I feel like this was a bait and switch tactic.

Sloppy work around the drain....shortly after work was performed some of the paint (yes, they use paint) began peeling. My niece's husband called a few times to have them come out and repair it but they did not do this. I definitely wouldn't recommend them since they do not follow up on their warranty. After a few attempts to get them to come out, my niece's husband gave up, and they will be getting a new tub soon.

He was supposed to regulate the whole thing and he decided to do some other coating that we could do and after he left about a week or 2, it started peeling on the areas that he was supposed to cover. Since then I've been trying to contact them over Angie's List. He never really called back. We even checked on some pictures posted on Angie's List so we haven't really heard back from the person or the company. There were some areas he was supposed to cover and it started peeling again. Initially they came in pretty fast but after that, obviously they haven't called or showed up. He was on time whenever he said. If a customer complains about something, it's really their job to make sure that they get a hold of the customer rather the customer chasing them. I want him to come in and fix what he did, but I would not recommend this person to anybody else.

The initial deal included non-skid surface. The provider really pressed the idea of not doing the non-skid. I felt very pressured to make a decision on the spot. He should have mentioned this when we spoke on the phone before the work started. Initially the finish looked pretty good. It has been 6 months and there a few chips on the surface and I didn't even drop anything more than a plastic bottle in the tub. He was very nice and professional but I am a bit disappointed in the quality of the work

This was a big deal purchase. It was good. The gentleman was very thorough and good at what he did. He was very safe and did all the venting. I had two different options of white and I did not realize that picking the paint to match my toilet would be the easiest. My toilet was one color white and now my tub is the other color of white. I feel like as a professional their technician should have told me what color my toilet was so I could have matched it. It ended up being really slippery and I thought I had paid for a non slip guard. Literally it is so slippery that I don't use it. I am on my second bath mat which makes it less slippery, but I still don't feel safe in the tub. The tub drain needed to be repaired at the time because now it has gotten rusty and I think that is an additional service that a plumber has to do now.

It was a two man team and they were professional and did a great job at resurfacing my peeling chipped tub to a new one! I was very impressed! Would recommend.

This was a gift for my mom's house. The provider went and did the service and had to come back to complete it a second time. The whole house stand and was unliveable for about a week. Since she works from home, this was a huge inconvenience. The final product is just okay. I am glad it was a basement shower. I wouldn't use it for one upstairs - it's not really nice enough. I'm not really sure what made this so difficult, stinky and of mediocre quality in the end. My impression is that the team was helpful, but the effects and result were not so great.

A&M Professional Refinishing did a great job. The tub looks like a new one. I would have them back again if I had another tub to do.

I got 5 year warranty and it is working great so far. I gave them a B because it was higher than the original price.

Andre was very professional. He arrived within the time frame specified, and called to notify us of his specific arrival time. I was charged with an additional $100 for a primer and $30 for travel fee, both fine print that I did not realize (the company is out of Tinley Park I believe) I am still unsure about the finished product as it looks textured (after the second visit it no longer feels this way) I had also wanted to have my tile surrounding the tub sprayed, but the cost compared to other re-finishers was at least double if not triple. Beautiful Finishes quoted me the entire surround and tub for about 100 more. I wish I would have known the total cost for tub and tile beforehand, as well as the travel and primer costs.

Andre did a great job on the tub. He was very professional and knowledgable. He also seemed like a nice, trustworthy guy which is important when you have someone working inside your home. His initial visit was a few months before the work was actually able to be done. We could have saved him that trip had we known the details in advance of what would and wouldn't work (we had drywall that needed to be completed before he could do his work.) But, he didn't seem annoyed by this and took the time to explain how much it would cost to do the inside and outside of the tub and a little about the process. He even lightly sanded off a black mark from our other vintage tub that I hadn't been able to remove. Once we had the drywall done, it was very easy to reschedule. He was able to do the work in one day. The inside of our tub had many areas chipping off, the outside was just worn and old and unevenly painted. It looks very shiny and new now. He gave us maintenance tips, which was helpful and important. We're very happy with the work he did and we would definitely use him again.

scheduled a date for service, they pushed it out 2 weeks, when he finally did come was told I needed a patch for the tub and it would take a week to a week & 1/2 before he would get is. 3 weeks later after calling several times he finally came back and put the patch in then had to wait another week before he came back to refinish the tub. I was charge for him to come to my area, which on my contract there was nothing that stated that but he still charged me. When I bought the package it was suppose to include the non-slip, but he didn't want to do it and said the patch that was add is non-slip enough; which was a total lie. The tub was more slippery then it was before this all started and a family member fell because it was so slippery. His fix for the slippery tub was to go on Bed Bath & Beyond and BUY a mat - spend more money since he didn't put the non-slip stuff on the tub. After he completed, a couple weeks later the patch was coming up on the sides, so I called him for the next 2 1/2 months, twice I actually talked to him and he stated he would call me back with a time he would return to fix; each time I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. After 2 & 1/2 months of calling and leaving messages and NEVER getting a return call, I gave up. I was very disappointed with this company, when I first met him I thought this was going to go really well, but that was totally wrong.

Very good experience. The process was explained well, it was carried out on time and the result is great!

The repair looks beautiful.

Although it took longer than I anticipated to get the job done, I am vey pleased with the results. All that's left to do is caulk and it looks like a brand new tub.
