Description of Work: Garage door opener was not was not allowing door to close. The mechanism is old and my husband had replaced a part earlier in the month which was stripped, but was out of town and the problem developed progressively. | |It was not clear why door was not closing. In my opinion, the tech mis-diagnosed the problem as being the sensor eye which prevents the door from closing when someone is blocking it. It was actually a fairly new part and looked perfectly aligned to me. However, he did lubricate the chain, which solved the problem after a few more days of me fiddling with it. I give the tech a passing grade for this. | |The person who answers their phone and makes appointments was rude. When I called back to say that the courtesy light had stopped working after the tech visit, she said the tech didn't touch it so it wasn't covered under service warranty. However the tech showed me loose contacts at the back of the box where the light is, which he had tightened. He had not written this up as part of his work so the phone lady refused to say this would be covered under warranty. I made an appointment for a return visit anyway. On the day of appointment, they called to say they would be two hours late. This is when I decided the whole thing was a waste of my time. After box was opened (by husband) and contact spray was applied, all was fixed. | |The discount coupon was not applied to the bill. Make sure you call in and ask for the coupon to be applied or send it in before they send you a bill, because billing was not handled by the tech on his visit.

Description of Work: Replaced power shaft and gear, reinstalled, adjusted drive chain, and verified operation of door and safety interrupt.

Description of Work: We called to explain our problem and the serviceman was there within the hour. He diagnosed the problem immediately, fixed it, and told us how we could fix it ourselves if it happened again. The 10% discount from Angie's list was much appreciated.

The professionalism and accuracy of his assessment of the door was also impressive. I enthusiastically recommend this firm to anyone needing to repair an overhead garage door.
