+ -1 moreOur family purchased a new home that needed the master closet completed. I was a little unsure of using a closet company as we were looking for something a little more modern in style than the traditional dark woods we had seen through these type of companies. I was also unsure as to whether a design consultant would truly listen to our needs and craft a solution for us (maximizing every inch to ensure I no longer had to do the seasonal change over!). Our closet also had slanted ceilings complicating the design. However working with Stacy of Within Your Reach was a pleasure and we couldn?t be happier. It was an easy process from design to installation and end product that I even enjoyed. We love the modern grey wood that fit in with our taste and the design of the rest of the home. She thinks of every little detail (love the jewelry draws and necklace hooks) and went the extra step to cut down a mirror to fit our narrow bi-fold entry doors. And when we had a small hick-up in the installation, Stacey raised it to our attention and quickly came back to resolve the item. To me, seeing how someone reacts when things go off track is the best test of service commitment and character. For this reason as well as the overall ease of the process working with Stacy, we give Within Your Reach the Page of Happiness designation.

+ -1 moreThe designer came to the house, measured and we talked about our needs. Several days later, I received two different design plans by email. After review, I scheduled and appointment at their store for final details to be ironed out. Components were ordered and nstallation was scheduled for the next week. Installer arrived as scheduled; he was very careful to cover floors between the entry door and the closets to minimize clean up. During the installation, the owner of the company called to check on the situation and, later, stopped by for an on-site visit. The installer cleaned up very well. There was one, small problem with a chipped shelf which was repaired several days later.
Description of Work: Installed closet systems in two closets. Removed old shelving and hardware, patched holes and painted. Added shelves, hanging rods, shoe cubbies, belt and tie rack, and wall hooks to Master bedroom closet. Added floor to ceiling shelves in a storage closet.

+ -1 moreThis company essentially works by appointment only - so making the initial contact took a bit of time. Not a big hassle, but it took a day or so to connect. As I am merely moving across the hall from one apartment to another in my condominium building, they came in and measured the closets in my present home and also in my new home. The new home had closets that had been installed by the previous owner, but these closets didn't fit our needs. I requested that they consider both complete demolition and building of new closets as well as using the existing closets as a base and 'tweaking" what was there to fit our needs. They came back fairly quickly with a proposal - but requested that we come in to their office to see the proposal in person. This took a week to arrange (our scheduling problems). The proposal covered only the demolition/new closet option. The proposal was excellent. But, we chose to use another company that offered to use much of our existing closets.

+ -1 moreCompany seems good, but it is important that estimator listen carefully to what client wants if client prescribes a specific design or style they need, as we did. The estimator's design incorporated things we specifically did not want.
Description of Work: Did not hire, rec'd estimate only. Problem was that after telling estimator what style and function we desired for our small closet, the quote we rec'd did address what we wanted at all.

+ -1 moreThe Designer listened to our needs and noted what was currently stored in the closets and designed accordingly; a few requested changes to the proposed designs were done quickly and easily. The project was completed two weeks from the date the final plan was approved. The installers were prompt, friendly and very neat. All floors from the entry door to the work area were covered with tarps; work areas were blocked with plastic to prevent dust from escaping and everything was vacuumed and swept after work was completed. The Operations Manager visited the site on both workdays to insure work was going well and we were satisfied. After the job was completed, two follow-up phone calls were made, one from the Designer to be sure we were satisfied with the components installed, the second from the Operations Manager to be sure the work was completed to our satisfaction and thank us for our business. I found Within Your Reach to be responsive, complete work to our satisfaction and perform excellent follow-up. One reason we selected them was that they could do all the work (teardown, patching and painting), design and installation. One stop shopping!
Description of Work: Installed organizers (wood) in two closets. One to a reach in closet for general storage; the other to a small walk in for clothing storage. In addition, the old shelves, poles, etc were removed, and the walls patched and painted in preparation for the new organizers.

+ -1 moreI am very happy with the great-looking closets and their great functionality. My closet ("Hers") is so roomy, I can easily close the door and have plenty of room to move or even change in there if I wanted. I'm also especially impressed with how they custom fit all the shelving, etc. up right against the sloping Mansard roof. The shelving has to be narrower toward the top of the closet than at the bottom. They made it all fit, optimized the space available and it looks just great! Very happy.
Description of Work: Built custom two "His & Her" walk-in closets in the Master Bedroom: --General: There was quite a bit of complexity due to certain walls not being flat---we have a Mansard roof over the 2nd floor which creates a gradual slope starting about around 5' up the wall. Most closet systems that require a track or flat wall, would not work. --"Her" closet: It's truly wonderful! Its actually in an "L-shape" once you open the door. As you enter, there isn't enough room for hanging clothes, so she recommended a good-sized area of 12" shelving so that you can still actually walk in (and live in! its very roomy) the closet and maneuver. Really great solution as I keep folded clothes (jeans, sweaters) on the white wood shelving, fitness closets in the open chrome basket drawers and lots & lots of shoes in the tower alongside. She also created two horitzontal shelves that run/wrap around the rest of the "L"-shaped closet--at the top of and middle of the shelving towers. The mid-tier shelf also helps suspend the bottom double-hanging clothes bar & the upper shelf helps support the upper double-hanging bar. As such, there is additional shelving all around the closet at the middle & near the top of the closet. Just inside the closet door, and if you reach around the inside corner, there is a little room where she put 4 (2 upper & 2 lower) hooks for robes or the like (I use for my fitness hoodies). Last, but not least, I have a valet pole (?; looks like a nice chrome-finished railroad tie) that pulls in or out so I can hang clothing that I'd like to wear/look at. Really amazing closet! --"His" closet--My husband wanted to keep his pretty wide (about 5+ foot) walk-in closet pretty simple--he has double-hang across the entire back wall. He also has a spot for a belt hook, tie rack and hooks for robes and the like. He's very happy with his closet too.

+ -1 moreJodi was very professional and put me on the schedule even though I mailed the check in and she surely didn't have it in hand. She was great. I felt like they wanted me business versus feeling like I have to track a company down to spend money at. I have used two other closet companies in the past that have done an equally wonderful job. However, they keep keeping more expensive, so I looked around and it was well worth it. These people are kind, professional and want your business. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Jodi came out and gave me a free estimate that day, along with the angieslist.com discount. I paid a few days later and they put me on the schedule. The guy came out within the time frame they had said and put it in in less than 2 hours. I had a nursery closet installed in our 3rd bedroom.

+ 1 moreExcellent product and excellent service! WYR's designer met with me at my home to review our needs. She quickly designed the perfect pieces for two separate rooms. She was knowledgeable, responsive, communicative and creative. We are thrilled with the entertainment center - it is better and cheaper than any similar-quality piece we could have purchased at a store. The storage room is fantastic - as it is meant to be multi-use, WYR designed the room to its maximum efficiency using cabinets, shelving, cubby holes, drawers, counter and a wall for hanging out-of-season clothing. The installation team was timely, thorough, professional and clean. The materials are high-quality and durable. I would highly recommend Within Your reach!

+ -1 moreWonderful. I met with Stacy and she helped me to design each closet. My husband's closet is very unique in that its deep for a reach in, but not quite a walk in closet. He's also very tall and has XL clothes, so we needed a lot of practical space for folded sweaters and other clothing. She converted what was an one beam across the closet to 3 areas of hanging space and added 4 good-sized shelves on the one side to take advantage of the unused space (the length of the extra depth of the reach in). We also installed a belt and tie rack in great locations to optimize storage space and to still have easy access to those items. On top of it all, one side of the closet is an exterior wall and we have a mansard roof with a gradual slope starting about 4 feet up. They made it all work out without our losing, but gaining space. My husband was pleasantly surprised how well it all turned out and loves the outcome!
Description of Work: Redid 3 closets and added a decorative white wood strip of hooks for hanging coats in the kitchen.

They even came back to replace a shelf because I had put so much stuff on it that it exceeded the weight limit, so they replaced it at no cost with a heavier shelf. I'd use them again and recommend them to others.!

+ 0 moreThe overall experience was very good. We communicated with Rich and his designer Karli via e-mail and telephone. Karli came to our home to measure and discuss what our storage needs were. She then e-mailed closet designs which we were able to adjust one time at no additional fee. The men who came to install the closets were professional and answered our many questions. We found communication to be good. We might have liked a bit more explanation beforehand about the flexibility of various parts of the closet organization system. These questions however were easily answered by the installers. The system is installed in such a way as to do minimal damage to closet walls. Maybe all closet organizing systems are done this way... I do not know... but I was pleased with how few holed actually had to be drilled into my walls.
Description of Work: ORG designed and installed organization systems for two closets in our townhome. Both closets were basic non walk-in closets. One was for a baby's room and one for a bedroom.
