Real Deal Moving

We hired this company to move our belongins from our old home in Bartlett to our new home and storage unit in Chicago. They never finished the work. In Bartlett, they didn?t bring a big enough truck so half of our items are still there. In Chicago, all they did was remove an existing bedroom set, put it in the garage and bring in a new one.  The items that were stored in my garage needed to be moved to the storage unit. Again, the truck wasn?t big enough for one trip. I went with them on the first trip to the storage unit and we were supposed to come back for a second load. At the unit, Don told me that he had a family party to go to and that he would have to come back on Wednesday (October 2). He texted me on Wednesday and told me that he couldn?t make it at the scheduled time and couldn?t give me an estimated time of arrival. I returned his text with several phone calls and I have not heard from him since. I called the bank on Wednesday to stop payment on the check and they told me that he cashed the check that morning.

I had a bad feeling about this company from the get go. Before any work was started, I asked Don to provide a certificate of insurance on multiple occasions and he failed to do so. Also, they caused about $600-$800 worth of carpet and wall were damage that we now have to take care of.

They sent two guys to help with the move. They showed up on time to help me move heavy items from my car to my apartment. They brought everything up to my apartment and put it in the room I requested. It only took about an hour to move everything. They were very good. They were mindful of my items and had a great attitude.
