HOUSE OF HEAT

The servicing of the furnace went fine, but after House of Heat was at my house, my central air went out. We didn't notice that the air wasn't working because the fan was going, but as it got hotter each day it was clear that it wasn't working, along with the gauge showing that the temp kept going up. I called House of Heat on a Saturday since they say they have 24/7 response, but got a very unhelpful answering service. They said that were giving gave my name and number to a service man, but I never got a call that day. On Sunday I tried again since the temps were predicted to be close to 90. Oddly enough, the answering service didn't pick up the three times I tried to call. When I used my husband's phone, they picked up the first time. I explained that I had called on Saturday, but got no response, and asked about leaving another message. The woman who had answered said that the service technician got my message and would call. I asked if he would be calling that day, and she said "possibly". I tried to ask a follow up question, but she hung up. Needless to say, we called another company to fix House of Heat's work.

They're very good. They come when they say they will. You're always scheduled right away, within a day or two. They're fast and polite and know what they're doing. They also have reasonable prices.

When our furnance went out I emailed 3 companies and HOUSE OF HEAT was one of the companies that responded very quickly. I corresponded via email with: Roger. They had very good reviews and quoted me a fair price. The only reason I went with another company is because I received a better Angie's List discount. But I was really impressed with the quick response and the quoted price was not bad either. We plan to upgrade both our furnance and water heater in the near future and will be sure to consider HOUSE OF HEAT in our search.

The technician did an excellent job. When I had trouble with my upstairs water flow, a technician came out immediately and cleared the pipes.

Our boiler went out on Saturday, 1/5/13, and we called another contractor (at a premium price) to figure out what was wrong. That contractor informed us that we would need a new heat exchanger (at $2k) or boiler and left us in the cold with a promise to let us know the options on Monday. On Monday 1/7/13, I called 2 contractors and explained that we might need a new boiler and i wanted a boiler serviced. The first contractor came out an hour later didn't look at anything, but promised he'd send me a quote for a new boiler and could install Wednesday 1/9/13. (I have yet to receive that estimate-assumably it would be several thousand dollars. (We did not have heat at the time so it was clear we wanted a quick turnaround on the estimate) Then, I called House of Heat. The person who answered the phone questioned why I would need a new heat exchanger and suggested it just needed some troubleshooting and a cleaning. We decided to just have both boilers serviced. The person who came called to come early and conscientiously worked on troubleshooting the 'bad' boiler. Sure enough as expected, a good cleaning was all that was needed and we now have heat! Not only did the restore our heat but they also saved us thousand of dollars! I will most definitely use them again and recommend them strongly to anyone who needs a heating contractor.

My air conditioner was not blowing cool air. I had someone come out that a neighbor recommended and that firm stated that I needed a new air conditioner. This air conditioner is only 12 years old. Something didn't seem right and I thought I get another recommendation. House of Heat came out and fixed my air conditioner for $202.00 - the other company tried to get me to spend $3,800.00 The techniician was professional and extremely helpful. He also took a view at my furnance. I would recommended these honest people to anyone.

They are courteous, knowledgeable and skilled. Reasonably priced.

They have done my boiler inspection and service the last 2 years and work at my old condo building several years befor that. This latest service call went perfectly. The technician was very professional and was helpful answering all my questions about the system. I will not only continue to use them to do my boiler work but will be considering them for future work in my 113 year old house. It's seems evident why they have been servicing residential customers since the 1950's.

The guy who came in was very efficient. He was strictly about business and takes care of the business. The recommendations that he had made, we find to be reputable and very helpful. They were prompt and neat. They were topnotch.

They did a great job. They were pleasant and on time. I would definitely recommend them to others!

The repairman arrived on time and was able to locate the problem and fix it within about 20 minutes. I had wanted to instlal a programmable thermostat. I asked him is he had one on his truck that he could install. He did and was able to do so within the hour service window.

I called HOH early Tuesday morning and left a message with their service. I was a little nervous as other companies haven't gotten back to me in this situation. I got a call shortly thereafter from HOH and they scheduled a tech to be out @ 10:30. The tech showed up about 10:45 and promptly apologized for the delay. He looked at the thermostat and then went out to inspect the unit. He took off the panels and immediately found the trouble with the electrical wire. He shut off the power, and went to work. He was able to fix the wiring with the slack that was there. This was nice since we didn't have to buy all new wiring. After he got that all fixed up he took off the other panels, inspected the unit and cleaned everything out. He put the panels back on, started it up and stayed until we could make sure everything was working well. The service call was $89.50; definitely worth the money in this heat. The technician was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend HOH to friends and will use them for future services. Thanks!

The entire experience was a pleasure, he had to climb on a high roof in extreme heat and did so without hesitation.

The unit is working fine. We have used them a couple of times, and they have always responded quickly. They have been very friendly. I don’t really have anything to compare their price to. The quality of their work seems to be good, and we have never had any problems. I would recommend them.

Requested a quote for new A/C unit. Service rep showed up on time on scheduled date, briefly reviewed options, however not much detail was provided. Overall the business seemed reputable and the serviceman was polite, but the quote was $1000 more than another highly rated local A/C provider who ended up getting our business. Seemed professional and reputable, but expensive.

Our equipment was original to our condo building (1960's), so we were in serious need of modernizing. House of Heat came over and measured our space as well as the hatch through which AC equipment could be hoisted up to the roof (versus hiring a crane for $$$ more). They also informatively discussed 1- vs. 2-stage furnaces and the SEER issues so we had more to go on making a decision. They followed up by sending brochures of proposed equipment choices. I checked the information provided against Consumer Reports advice on selecting HVAC and everything they did was in line with what was recommended, most importantly sizing the system by collecting actual data on the space to be heated/cooled. The price was competitive and also negotiable. When we went over to make our deposit, they gave us an install date right then and there, which was only a week away. They sent 3 men so the entire system could be completed in one day. So, I'd recommend if you live in a condo in this area, do get an estimate from House of Heat as part of your research.

Called in the morning, got a service tech out within 3 hours. Wham! Marty fixed the A/C and was a super nice guy on top of it.

They came out on a weekend for the repair. The price seemed okay. They were very nice.

I had a very good experience with this company. To begin with, they were the only one I could find that would sell and install an attic fan after my old one became irreparable. They were courteous, professional, and easy to deal with. They let me know when they would arrive and arrived on time. One of the workers had to climb a ladder to get into the attic via a trap door. Because the attic is totally unfinished and has no floor, he then had to walk on the beams to avoid fallingl through the second-floor ceiling. While in the attic, he worked on the wiring on the side of the attic wall, with no light except his flashlight. He never complained about these challenging conditions. When the job was completed, he even went back up on the ladder and re-hung my ceramic mobile that hangs from a hook inside the trap door.

House was very responsive but their price was not competitive for the service I needed.

It was a very minor fix, but we really appreciated their speed and flexibility: I was out of town and my wife worked all day, but the other crew working on the house let them in, and the furnace was back up and running very quickly.

All went well - professionally I used them two other times; - On an emergency basis to replace a failed pump on the boiler. All went well - price reasonable - On another emergency basis they repaired leaking steam radiator in a condo I own - replaced a failed pressure relief valve; all went well - price was reasonable

They are prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and local.

The repairman came out and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. He replaced the faulty relay and made sure it was working properly. He was at our house about 30 minutes. The price was $125.00 which included the cost of the replacement part.
